Dragoncat
The battle animations for the 3d games are pretty cool and realistic imo. Low health = they slouch over like they're in pain. I remember thinking the only thing that would make RD's battle animations better was blood, which brings me to this topic. I'm not talking tons of gore squirting out everywhere like Mortal Kombat apparently has, but a little wouldn't hurt. It would add to it and make it better imo. A lot of FE games are rated T so it wouldn't be that unlikely of an addition. Also Henry would be happier if it was actually visible ingame
Emeraldfox
But, do we need to see blood? Does Fire Emblem as a whole need blood?
Skynstein
Blood ups ESRB ratings, so no.
Soledai
I don't think it needs blood, you can also portray what you speak of with bruises and cuts and things of that nature. Edited November 19, 2014 by Soledai
Junkhead
I think it'd be dumb to add it. A game doesn't need it, to be good. It's a cheap way of getting to people, like those horribad Horror movies who just add some porn and label it "Horror".
Ryo
Splattering blood would probably look weird with magic animations. However, I would like to see "minor blood" on the injured character's portrait and/or sprite, like blood running down from their head or mouth for example, instead of the "sweating emotion" like in Awakening. But honestly I don't really care though.... Edited November 19, 2014 by Ryo
Perfect Infinitive Exitus
I think blood is a really good Idea(especially on criticals and such(especially when henry attacks(henry is the most awesome charakter in FE history besides Karel))because henry always talks about Death and Gore so i don't think that some more red pixels would add charme to it.(IMO blood in games is really awesome, because you can actually see that that one particular attack really hurt.) Loki Laufeyson
Yeah, i wouldnt mind seeing blood or some more violent imagery in really key moments. Like, i dont mean in battle animations, but in like CGI rendered cutscenes or some junk like that. I kinda want FE to get a little bit edgier, not too much, but a little bit more. We are dealing with a series that deals with war and enormities. Why not push the envelope a bit? It dont gotta be some M rated business, just a little more...maturity in places. Sentacotus
I wouldn't mind it I mean hell the lethality skill in awakening pretty much implies blood and all being shown and it looks awesome. Regardless though, the animations look great as is and it wouldn't be a deal breaker to me if they didn't add it in.
Jiac
Blood ups ESRB ratings, so no. See Ocarina of Time. Ocarina of Time 64 full of blood: E for Everyone Ocarina of Time 3D no blood at all: E 10+. Anyways at topic: Do you want to see your Waifu bleeding? ;n; I think blood is good if used conservatively since too much blood kinda discourages on the feel of Fire Emblem. Though I'll admit bloody Astra would be awesome.
Jester Capri
Blood ups ESRB ratings, so no. Kirby's Adventure 3: Rated E. What does it show? A bleeding eyeball. Kirby 64: Rated E. Also has bleeding eyeball. But on the topic of FE, blood just seems redundant, even though the soldiers spill out each others blood in battle; just not seen for some reason o_0. The Geek
I don't think it would fit with the overall aesthetic.
Jester Capri
I think the thing is that FE is still good w/o blood. Mentioning blood is fine, but having blood effects isn't really needed. Edited November 19, 2014 by カプリ
Dagon
I think in the cinematic scenes it'd be okay since it fits in well but not the actual battle cutscenes.

Kirby's Dream Collection (contains Kirby's Dream Land 3 and Kirby 64, among others): Rated E10+ for Animated Blood. So they did take note of that, at least. I don't mind either way if they started showing a bit of blood. The fight with Navarre and Ogma in the OVA actually had them spilling a few small drops. Well, on their original release dates. Either way, it's good that they took note of that, kinda like Earthbound (Though K-A was extremely reasonable, T seemed somewhat fitting)
Kiseki
FE6 Hector wants a word with you. He's even bleeding visible blood from his forehead. There's also FE13 Lethality, but it was partially censored by the visual effects.
Scarlet
Do you want to see your Waifu bleeding? ;n; Yes @Topic: If it's used tastefully. I don't need blood on battle animations. They're fine as they are. However, blood in story sequences, if used correctly, can add nicely to the feel. It'd certainly make the series a little edgier - which I'd be fine with, but probably wouldn't really fit the image Fire Emblem has established for itself, so I can't really see it happen. FE6 Hector's bloody facesprite, for instance, felt kinda out of place, all things considered.
Cymbalina's Revenge
I don't think it would fit with the overall aesthetic. Yeah, I was going to say that FE's battle sequences are stylized in a way where blood doesn't really fit. Might potentially lend more impact to the cut scenes and CGIs, but it seems like FE's done a pretty good job of making players feel the plot-important death scenes without it. And chapter 5 of FE4 didn't need a single pixel's worth of blood to make an impact.
HF Makalov Fanboy Kai
as much as i like blood in my videogames, i don't see fire emblem really needing it, with that said i wouldn't mind either way
Jedi
Doesn't really matter to me, Dynasty Warriors gets away with no blood as well. Yet the storyline is very much brutal and savage (due to that time in history) Just as long as it didn't get to Mortal Kombat levels I suppose. fengaridotdll
Meh, as long as it does not end up an over the top gorefest
NinjaMonkey
As long as it's not excessive, I'd be fine with it. Ocarina of Time 64 full of blood: E for Everyone Ocarina of Time is "full of blood"? There's only once scene where blood is seen, right at the end of the game, when you defeat Ganondorf in his castle. Oh, and the blood is green, not red. I think it was red in the first version, but conservative whiny soccer moms wanted it changed (Also why Sheik is now obviously a woman)
