spinning complacently in the darkness

covered and blinded by a blanket of little lives

false security has lulled the madness of this world

into a slumber

wake up

an eye is upon you

staring straight down

and cleanly through

seeing all that you are

and everything that you can never be

yes, an eye is upon you

an eye ready to blink

so face forward

with arms wide open and mind reeling

your future has arrived

are you ready to go?

It was easier to lock the doors and kill the phones than to show my skin,

Because the hardest thing is never to repent for someone else,

It's letting people in.

"The third horseman rides a black horse and is popularly understood to be Famine as the horseman carries a pair of balances or weighing scales, indicating the way that bread would have been weighed during a famine. Other authors interpret the third horseman as the "Lord as a Law-Giver" holding Scales of Justice. In the passage it is read that the indicated price of grain is about ten times normal (thus the famine interpretation popularity), with an entire day's wages (a denarius) buying enough wheat for only one person, or enough of the less nutritious barley for three, so that workers would struggle to feed their families."

Doesn't sound like me.

I am unfamiliar enough with the above subject that I cant tell why you brought it up in response to my post. In case you are unfamiliar with ff9, Vivian is a black mage and steiner is a knight. The player can combine vivi's magic with steiner's swordsmanship when thet fight together.

That's the profile given for Steiner. I get the joke though.

[spoiler=kendrick lamar - sing about me, first verse]I woke up this morning and figured I'd call you
In case I'm not here tomorrow, I'm hoping that I can borrow
A peace of mind, I'm behind on what's really important
My mind is really distorted, I find nothing but trouble in my life
This orphanage we call a ghetto is quite a routine
And last night was just another distraction or a reaction
Of what we consider madness, I know exactly what happened
You ran outside when you heard my brother cry for help
Held him like a newborn baby and made him feel
Like everything was alright and a fight he tried to put up
But the type of bullet that stuck had went against his will
As blood spilled on your hands, my plans rather vindictive
Everybody's a victim in my eyes
When I ride, it's a murderous rhythm and outside became pitch black
A demon glued to my back whispering, "Get em"
I got 'em, and I ain't give a fuck
That same mentality that told my brother not to duck
In actuality, it's a trip how we trip off of colors
I wonder if I'll ever discover a passion like you and recover
The life that I knew as a young'n
When thunder comes it rains cats and dogs
Dumb niggas like me never prosper
Prognosis of a problem child, I'm proud and well devoted
This piru shit been in me forever
So forever I'mma push it, wherever, whenever
And I love you cause you love my brother like you did
Just promise me you'll tell this story when you make it big
And if I die before your album drop, I hope- *gunshots*

I swear, I recognize your breath
Memories like fingerprints are slowly raising
Me, you wouldn't recall for I'm not my former
It's hard when you're stuck upon the shelf
I changed by not changing at all
Small town predicts my fate
Perhaps that's what no one wants to see
I just want to scream hello
Elderly Woman Behind The Counter In A Small Town by Pearl Jam.

Who's in a bunker?
Who's in a bunker?
Women and children first
And the children first
And the children
I'll laugh until my head comes off
I'll swallow till I burst
Until I burst
Until I
Who's in a bunker?

Who's in a bunker?
I have seen too much
I haven't seen enough
You haven't seen it
I'll laugh until my head comes off
Women and children first
And children first
And children

Give me back my broken night

my mirrored room, my secret life

it's lonely here,

there's no one left to torture

Give me absolute control

over every living soul

And lie beside me, baby,

that's an order!

Give me crack and anal sex

Take the only tree that's left

and stuff it up the hole

in your culture

Give me back the Berlin wall

give me Stalin and St Paul

I've seen the future, brother:

it is murder.

I actually associate teddy Thompson with this song because I heard his cover first. But it's a Leonard Cohen song.

IIIII

just wasteeeed

ten seconds of your liiiiife

Ok fine not that~

w-well given some examples ima assume this term is being used fairly loosely... and really there's a huge chain of this song that probably stands out to me more than anything else

I swear we cannot wake up from this hell that we live in

but when the sun finally hits our face

we see that we are merely reflections of reflections left by our predecessors

dragged through the mud

chained by the ankle

there is no more running

there is no more escaping

if only God could lay his hands down on this barren land

and wake

us

up

cause we are the lost

we are the helpless

we are the forgotten ones

we are the lost

and we are the abandoned

I swear it's worth saving us

we pray for the sun to dry us up

I need a clearer head to see what we are worth

there's still life left down here to revolt

oh I know what it looks like from there

a loss of control to this place

and we're set to extinct

I swear I swear it's worth saving us

oh I swear I swear it's worth saving us

oh I swear I swear it's worth saving us

I swear

I swear

(the emphasis with "wake us up" is the most important part ^o^ just the way he says those lines, especially that one, is what helps this stand out to me)

Maybe I'm reaching, but all I ever hear now correlates to you and me

Don't call it preaching, babe if you're the choir maybe you could set me free

Sing far from churches, though I've never been I know what they all want to say

"When this life hurts it's a sin to try and fight", you'll thank them on a distant day

But we know better, working for no man if he doesn't promise pay

Rapture and then Glory, when you get to heaven maybe you won't want to stay

Cause it's difficult to live with perfect in every way

I'll admit the Holy Ghost is not a part of me

Cause I split, now I know he don't want no part of me

And I know he won't forgive me first

So "I'm sorry, and I never meant to hurt.

I'm sorry, and I never meant one word."

I take up serpents and drinking my salvation, waiting for the blessed to come

I don't think it's Jesus, a worldly companion will show me that my life has begun

But she ain't surfaced so I'll be a little fisherman, live where the salmon run

I know my purpose; I make friends with the moon because someone's got to welcome the sun

Say it's difficult to live with, hoping it will soon be done

I'll admit the Holy Ghost is not a part of me

Cause I split, now I know he don't want no part of me

And I know he won't forgive me first

So "I'm sorry, and I never meant to hurt.

Oh, I'm sorry, and I never meant one word."

I had a ghetto boy bop, a Jay-Z boycott

Cause he said that he never prayed to God, he prayed to Gotti

I'm thinking "golly, God, guard me from the ungodly"

But by my 30th watching of "Streets is Watching"

I was back to giving props again and that was bothering

'Bout as uncomfortable as an untouchable touching you

The theme songs that niggas hustle to

Seem wrong, but these songs was coming true

And it was all becoming cool

I found a condom on the ground that Johns would cum into

And thought what constitutes a prostituteis the pursuit of profit

Then they drop it

The homie in a suit pat her on the butt, then rock it

It seems I was seeing the same scene adopted

Prevalent in different things

With the witnesses indifferent to stop it

They said "don't knock it, mind your business

His business isn't mine and that nigga pimping got it"

I was young when this song was released along with the album it was on and it articulated what my 11 year old self couldn't. Also Reasonable Doubt was one of the first hip hop albums I ever had on rotation without actually being a fan of hip hop and catching the Jay-Z references throughout the song got me hooked

I don't know enough music. For the music I do know, there's no lyrics. The lyrics don't matter to me, it's the song itself that does.

I care about both~! There can be strong emotion and passion in music and there can be strong emotion and passion in lyrics and in singing. There's really a lot to appreciate in both c:

And, Emily - I saw you last night by the river
I dreamed you were skipping little stones across the surface of the water
Frowning at the angle where they were lost, and slipped under forever
In a mud-cloud, mica-spangled, like the sky'd been breathing on a mirror

Anyhow - I sat by your side, by the water
You taught me the names of the stars overhead that I wrote down in my ledger
Though all that I knew of the rote universe were those Pleiades loosed in December
I promised you I'd set them to verse so I'd always remember

When I do listen to things with lyrics, it's usually cheesy as hell.

果てないこの闇の向こうにも光があると信じてる

ここから生まれ変わる世界だけみつめて離さないよ

(I have the gist of the lyrics, but it's. . .really sappy)

She calls out to the man on the street
"Sir, can you help me?
It's cold and I've nowhere to sleep,
Is there somewhere you can tell me?"

He walks on, doesn't look back
He pretends he can't hear her
Starts to whistle as he crosses the street
Seems embarrassed to be there

Phil Collins, "Another Day in Paradise"

[spoiler=alternatively,]We're no strangers to love / You know the rules and so do I
A full commitment's what I'm thinking of / You wouldn't get this from any other guy
