NinjaMonkey
I'm assuming as long as the game has "RPG" somewhere in its genre it's fair game? I'm seeing a lot of Fire Emblem in people's lists (kinda duh given the nature of this board) but it's a SRPG. SRPG stands for Strategy RPG... ClevelandSteve
The order on this list changes pretty much every time I write it, and several of them sometimes slip off and get replaced by other games. Also, what is and isn't an RPG is pretty vague (as demonstrated by the fact that some people are debating it here), but I'll try my best: 1. Xenoblade Chronicles 2. Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door 3. Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars 4. Baten Kaitos Origins 5. Final Fantasy VI 6. Golden Sun: The Lost Age 7. Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story 8. Mother 3 9. Kingdom Hearts 10. OgreBattle 64: Person of Lordly Caliber I personally left off Fire Emblem games (Blazing Sword would probably make the list otherwise, and maybe Path of Radiance) because I personally consider SRPGs different enough from normal RPGs to count as their own genre. Philranger
SRPG stands for Strategy RPG... Yes I'm well aware what SRPG stands for. The point of the question was whether he was looking for more traditional RPGs or any sort of RPG sub genre (such as SRPGs, or MMORPGs). Captain Wesker
Ooh listing things. Rapier
- Earthbound - Mother 3 (if I can name games from the same series twice, that is) - Chrono Trigger - Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky (First Chapter) - Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War - Yggdra Union - TES V: Skyrim - Bravely Default - Summon Night 2: Swordcraft Story - Rune Factory 3 It is in order, but there isn't such a great gap in preference from a game from another. Just a minor one. Edited May 29, 2015 by Rapier
omglmaowtf
If you want to participate (I'd love to get over 300 people's list) please send me a pm (or just post in this thread) with your list in order so I can give them points.I'm asking for pm so everyone's list is individual and so another person's list doesn't affect/alter/adjust you own games. (you can always just spoiler tag your lists if that's easier.) If you can't even bother to put your list in order then don't fucking bother, or are some of our fellow SFers illiterate? Anyways I'll pm Scar my list.

Rxmonste
10. Pokemon Y (It's the only one I played.....don't look at me like that.) 9. The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim (My favorite of Bethesda's grand RPG series) 8. Fallout 3 (I played this game for a whole year without it losing novelty) 7. Mario and Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story (Phenomenal turn based combat!) 6. Dragon Age: Origins (I'm still not far enough into Inquisition to compare, but this is by far Bioware's best attempt to making a 3D Balder's Gate.) 5. Dark Souls (Best Metroidvania style game that is not Metroid Prime or Super Metroid) 4. Kingdom Hearts 2 (Call it hack and slash all you will, this game is pure fun, despite the convoluted plot) 3. Fire Emblem: Awakening (Support, lovable characters, all that shit. Addictive turn based gameplay, and 500 hours clocked in) 2. Xenoblade Chronicles (The absolute pinnacle of Japanese RPGs for me. A game I hold so dear for it's great gameplay, deep storyline, and Dunban!) 1. Mass Effect 2 (My favorite game of all time. Five years and it still holds that spot. 8 playthroughs and I still encounter new things.) Edited May 31, 2015 by Rxmonste

Hempmeister69
1. Dark Souls 2 (Got it maybe a week ago and fell in love. Praise the Sun!)2. Skyrim (PC Version of course. SOOO customizable. Maybe the only rpg I can see myself playing forever.)3. Fire Emblem Awakening (Everything I've ever liked about SRPG's in one game. The reason I got a 3ds honestly.)4. Dragon Age Inquisition (Sweetness. The Dragon Age series always manages to encapsulate me. Lurve the story and battle system.)5. Mass Effect 3 (Would say two/the whole series but I had waay more fun with the battle system in 3 than the others. Great end to a great story.)6. Fallout 3 (Amazing story and lore. Wildly creative and a testament to Bethesda's ability to immerse players into open worlds.)7. Dragon Age Origins (Made me fall in love with rpgs again and catalyzed my obsession with mage characters. Also, Morrigan.)8. Star Wars Knights of The Old Republic 2 (You. Can. Be. A. Jedi.)9. Pokemon Soul Silver (A remake of the best Pokemon game of all time.)10. Persona 4 (Yu Narukami = The Father, Son, and Holy Senpai)
