Avril Lavigne
I don't understand, it's just this one character, or class, and when I use them, attack, reset, resume mid-battle, their str/mag goes to 0. But everything else stays the same. I'm not sure how this can be fixed
Agro
Is the total of the stat negative? As in char + class base stat?
CT075
is their strength
MisakaMikoto
Character's Str/Mag won't be over 31 normally so the game only records the lowest 5 bits to save space when saved. Of course it can be fixed but it may have some side effects if you only reduce other status' bits to add its bits. In a word, it requires some tricks. Avril Lavigne
is their strength 32 Why didn't I mention the value of the strength?? That was dumb. Yes, does 32 have some weird glitch?
Chocolate Kitty
yes; the max for any stat in gba is 31 due to the way stats are stored in memory Character's Str/Mag won't be over 31 normally so the game only records the lowest 5 bits to save space when saved. Of course it can be fixed but it may have some side effects if you only reduce other status' bits to add its bits. In a word, it requires some tricks. this explains it pretty much 100%
CT075
the game only stores the last 5 bits of each non-hp stat, and it'll reset to that after every resume/battle/whatever in layman's terms, take the remainder of the stat when divided by 32. That's your new stat.

Lamia
correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't FE8 allow it?
circleseverywhere
Vanilla FE8 does not, however FEditor Adv comes with an autopatch that allows it. Simply open the rom in FEditor and save, and the fix will be applied. Oddly enough, the autopatch doesn't seem to work for FE7.
CT075
it should; you can tell it does if you have an active save that randomly boosts stats when you play it after editing a ROM with FEditor
