Is it just me, or has the recent spout of interviews made Ohmori seem more likable than Masuda? When it came down to "Why are Alolan Forms limited to Gen 1 Pokemon", he basically straight-up said relevance and marketing. While we have Masuda talking around things and being... well, I've said plenty of things about him.

Basically, I've gained respect of Ohmori and lost respect of Masuda.

As a sucker for cute things and with the removal of HM's, I'm pretty sure I wouldn't forgive myself if I didn't catch a Mimikyu now.

I'll catch Mimikyu too, but only for Pokedex completion. I might not go for the National dex completion this time though, unless I actually finish my X one. There are just so many Pokemon now lol, I just might only be bothered to complete the regional Pokedexes from now on. xP

On another note, I've picked up my Diamond playthrough again (the Sinnoh Remake Hype run I mentioned before). I had to do stuff, so I actually didn't get farther than Sandgem town before. But now I'm catching stuff. Haven't found a Starly I'm satisfied with yet, but I like the first Shinx I managed to catch. Male, Intimidate, Jolly.

You might say an attack increasing nature would've been better, but I'll take a speedy Luxray any day. Luxray is slowish, so it'll be faster than normal with a Jolly nature. I like males more than females too, because of the larger, more majestic mane. And Intimidate > Rivalry.

I'm out of Pokeballs for now, so Starly will have to wait, but I'll get one. Can't pass up an awesome Staraptor with Close Combat in this game. I'm also looking for good natures because of DP's difficulty. I don't want to struggle so much against Cynthia again.

I have a lot less to say about all the Sun & Moon news that have come up after my last look into things (Sometime in Summer if I remember correctly) than I expected.

Personally not that hyped for Ultra Beasts, but it will be interesting to see what their role is. The new Pokémon and Alolan forms look mostly neat (my favorite continues to be Rockruff), though some of the most recent ones aren't so much to my liking...

But Togedamaru is the Pikaclone, not this...thing, I thought.

I understand his point, I really do. But I think he's being a bit misguided. Then again Gen 1 fans tend to be the loudest.

I don't see what the quoted part has to do with Gen 1, apart from giving Charizard as an example? As far as I understood it, the point was about all the Pokémon that exist before this hypothetical reset? You could replace Charizard with any other Pokémon and the point would still stand.

That other interview about Gen 1 not getting any special treatment in Sun and Moon (heh), now that one was definitely stupid. But I really don't see the problem with this one.

Not really. It's not an Electric type, not a small mammal/rodent, and doesn't have circular cheek pouches. xP It just tries to dress as Pikachu and be loved like Pikachu. It doesn't evolve, but a lot of Pokemon don't evolve and we're not calling every single Pokemon that doesn't evolve a Pikaclone. :P

Togedamaru is much more of a Pikaclone, imo.

Anyway, just got the Coal Badge in this Diamond playthrough! I almost completely swept Roark, lol. He used to be harder for me. But maybe back then I actually didn't level up Budew to the point where it learns Mega Drain. I did this time around. I decided to go with Roserade for the main team this time because it was actually the first Grass type I used on a final main story team in Sinnoh. So it's sorta nostalgic. Roserade is pretty good too. I couldn't catch a Budew with a really favorable nature, but I'm fine with a neutral one. Besides, its IVs look pretty decent so far. Dat sp. defense.

I'm liking the music much more, and am glad they got Go Ichinose back. His presence was missed in X and Y, and ORAS (while having a couple nice original tracks) was just remixes of pre-existing tracks.

Masuda moved back in his parents to finish Red and Green. He's also an Aspie, and lives for his on these games. What he said doesn't bother me because I can understand that level of dedication when it's there for me. It's Satoshi Taijiri who has said to have Asperger Syndrome, not Masuda. It's probably the reason he rarely talks and appears in public. It's why Masuda is pretty much the spokesman of the Pokemon series. If he had Asperger, he wouldn't be the one chosen to speak to the public.

And I don't mean to be rude, but please be careful when spreading information if have no reliable source.

He's already presided over the biggest shakeup in, well, forever, for the Pokemon franchise. I think even if the story is ass (which it probably won't be) Sun and Moon is still set to be the best pair of,games in the franchise.

Well, said "timeskip without penalty" is using the cruddy 3DS emulator.

The only things that can be gotten through events are the 10 pretty wings, a balm mushroom, and 3 comet shards- nothing huge.

Looks like I got just about everything then. It was a fun little demo anyway. :P

I left off my Diamond playthrough after arriving in Floaroma Town yesterday. This is my absolute favorite part of Sinnoh, the flowers and meadow are just so pretty! What are you guys' favorite places in Sinnoh?

Btw, I forgot to mention this, but while the Starly I caught has a neutral nature like Budew, it was also holding a rare berry! (a Yache Berry to be precise) So I kept it. :P I honestly hadn't known that you could find Pokemon holding this stuff so early.

Everyone but Budew has evolved as well, so now I have Monferno at lv. 15, Luxio at lv. 15, and Staravia at lv. 14. I was going to add Buneary/Lopunny to my team as usual, but it honestly doesn't have a lot of use when the best moves it learns are Normal and Fighting type, and I already have a Fighting type in Monferno/Infernape. My last two team members instead will be Lumineon (it's just so pretty, you know?) and Garchomp (awesome dragon!).

I know! I have only played Diamond once and haven't completed it yet, but I love the old chateau. The music is pretty haunting, too!

I mean, a lot of the music and stuff actually felt new to me, it'd been so long. And I played gen 4 to death lol. I got tired of some of the music and such back then. XD

Oh yes, Team Galactic's themes are my favorite battle themes in the entire series! And they're my favorite evil team. it's why I bought their 3DS theme instantly. :D I'm using it while I play Diamond too!

I also really like the gym battle theme and Barry's theme. Cynthia also has the best Champion theme ever, imo. Sinnoh just has overall the best music to me! It's not to say other games haven't had tracks I really like, Sinnoh just has the most.

But outside of Sinnoh, I really like Snowbelle City in XY, I think Route 10 in Hoenn, Route...42 or something like that in Johto (it's on the route to the east of Ecruteak City), and Lance has a pretty cool champion theme as well. And I always liked the gym theme, especially Unova's more unique ones (why didn't this carry on in future games? :/).

It took me some time to accept it as good, honnestly.

RSE's music is so bombastic and epic , that this calmer and simpler tone was... quite a shock, and I dissmissed it too easily, even if I kinda appreciate it.

Cynthia's theme (not the battle ones) is also quite impressive, simple, but it makes it clear you're up to business (she's probably the best Champion we had so far.)

Sunyshore city's music is truly great and joyfull, too. And the Casino music is que fun, too. already said that I want the Sinnoh remake so that I can gave this gen a second chance.

Overall, my favourite soundtrack is still Gen V, because of Village Bridge (one of my favourite part of the game, honest.) And yeah, the different geme theme, and the music for their last Pokémons were great additions.

So there was that livestream on Niconico, and while it didn't show any new pokemon, there were some new details.

Shaking grass encounters work like XY where if you are next to something shaking it will attack you. Like the bushes on that route to the mansion.

When you catch a pokemon the Rotomdex tells you your current pokedex completion %.

There are 7 trials. So there's the confirmed Ilima, Mallow, Lana, Kiawe, and Sophocles, and from the special trailer in the demo the ghost girl is suspected to be one. Plus the mentioned Khahili from the demo is also speculated to be the last one.

Also Litten's stats at level 15 were shown at some point, and they were 39 HP, 26 Attack, 22 Defense, 24 Special Attack, 18 Special Defense, and 29 Speed. Litten's base stats are suspected to range from 32-49 HP, 55-73 Attack, 42-59 Defense, 48-66 Special Attack, 28-46 Special Defense, and 65-83 Speed. We don't know that Litten's nature though, and so the estimates are based off a neutral nature.
