IceBrand
By FF I mean experimenting with ever new game and trying something different. By DQ I mean staying pretty much the same for all of the games.

Water Mage
Fire Emblem already follows the FF part. Pretty much every Fire Emblem game has something that makes them unique. Edited April 30, 2016 by Water Mage
Magical Glace
Depends on what game of the series is being kept the same in DQ fashion. I'm all for more games mechanically like the GBA era! But I want to veer as far away from the 3DS era as possible. Edited April 30, 2016 by Glaceon Mage
Serpent of Sheol
final fantasy is very far from experimental, especially in story gameplay has some variance, but it just changes the same feature to be slightly different. it's comparable to how etrian odyssey handles other class skills on one class: subclassing, EOU's grimoire, EO2U's grimoire. they are all slightly different and still have very similar end results Edited April 30, 2016 by Knight of Argentum
Nightmare
ff isn't really what I'd call experimental but it definitely tries something new with every game, and the differences aren't as tiny as you make them out to be anyway, I'd like for every game to try something new I even want draque to try something new, but I'm OK if it doesn't because it's good at what it does
Parrhesia
Do you mean like how FF has a ton of spinoffs? FE should continue to be a series of TBSes and eventually hire a writing staff.

Original Alear
final fantasy is very far from experimental, especially in story gameplay has some variance, but it just changes the same feature to be slightly different. it's comparable to how etrian odyssey handles other class skills on one class: subclassing, EOU's grimoire, EO2U's grimoire. they are all slightly different and still have very similar end results FF has more variations than EO later on in the series. 10 and 12 are really quite different from the earlier games in the series, and it looks like the same is true for 13 and 15. Dunno if it is wildly innovative in a good way, but it's a lot more variation than EO and DQ have from game to game in terms of basic approach to combat mechanics. I think EO does have a lot of variety between some of the games because of changes in enemies and bosses, class skills, etc, but the basic approach to gameplay is a lot more similar than in the FF games. Zera
Why not have FE take the Mario route? Sports, kart racing, and board games!
Darros
The varying content in all the FE games is what makes the series pretty cool as a whole to me.. even though some of the individual games I don't think are so cool. Given that FE13 and FE14 kind of revived the series I think we'll be seeing some new shit, but pair ups, and regrettably MU/children characters are here to stay. peener weener
ffs aren't really known for being innovative my man the ones since 10 have all had radically different battle systems which is what i imagine op meant edit: radically different is maybe a bit of an overstatement, but they've had pretty idiosyncratic systems since then even if they're not wildly innovative. the rest of the game is pretty much the same tho lmao Edited May 1, 2016 by fuccboi
Integrity
i picked up on that i haven't played any of the ones since 10 except 12 lol

Parrhesia
Why not have FE take the Mario route? Sport, kart racing, and board games! I sincerely think that'd be terrible, but I wouldn't rule it out happening at this rate. Mario's got wide international and family appeal. FE's a niche strategy series. maybe
what about the KH route have a game in development for like 3948230482 years and teasers once every 2 years but never actually come out if this means we get fire emblem games with such fantastic titles as "358/2 days" i'd totally be on board
Katie
I wouldn't mind FE spin offs, but only if they were in a genre that made sense. I could see an FE fighting game happening and totally get behind it, for example, but, say, an FE Kart Racing game would be weird and make no sense. If it turned out to be good regardless I'd probably still buy it though.
