You scan them to register them as seen in your dex to be able to find them, and after you scan 10 a day a rare pokemon appears for ~an hour somewhere in the region. I don't have a list of them, but they are pokemon outside of the Alola dex, including the gen 2 starters and the fully evolved gen 5 starters.

Also, there's apparently "battle styles" that affect how Poké Balls are thrown.

Welp, Araquanid just got a whole lot better.

Not only does Water Bubble block burn, but it doubles the damage of water-type moves. And this is on top of STAB.

The only thing this 'mon needs to be stupid good is trick room up.

252+ SpA Choice Specs Keldeo Hydro Pump vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Mew: 295-348 (86.5 - 102%) -- 12.5% chance to OHKO

252+ Atk Choice Band Araquanid Liquidation vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Mew: 339-400 (99.4 - 117.3%) -- 93.8% chance to OHKO

The base 40 speed went from "oh great this total shit" to a necessary limiter.

Empoleon's being thrown around, since with Water Bubble for all intents and purposes it resists fire again on top of solid special attack.

Presumably, the Crabombinable mountain is where Glaceon evolves.

Pretty much. Apparently Charjabug does work well enough throughout the game, provided it has an Eviolite. I'm gonna have to skip out on giving my Charjabug Eviolite though, as Crabrawler will need all the help it can get, as it evolves even later.

I think the Mossy Rock is in Lush Jungle. May be wrong on that though.

And yeah the Icy Rock is somewhere on Mount Lanakila.
