Espinosa
Ever since I heard it first as a Chinese leak rumour that later proved true, I've found it sensational that the usual gym structure has been abolished. What it makes me wonder is whether there will be any fixed structure at all. For example, will those specialists mentioned in the trailers have the same Pokemon at the same levels each time? When the Pokemon League (or its equivalent) is assembled, will it also vary (and if so, how wildly)? I just wonder if there's anything that will be set in stone at all. Will we be able to compile TM and Pokemon locations as we used to? I wouldn't be surprised if we couldn't if the trainers' rosters also shuffled based on the playthrough, the time the player faces them and any other factors we may not be aware of yet. I guess we'll find out very soon at least.
Emerson
I think you're overthinking it. Most likely nothing will change, at least nothing that weird (where did shuffling Trainers come from?). And, if you're fine with demo-mined spoilers... There's unfortunately only 7 trial captains. So it's unlikely that there won't be a form of order, or they'll at least be scaled appropriately to when you find each one. A lot of the starting towns of each island (where the blue port building is) have only 1 or 2 paths leading out, and they could do something to block off 1 path. I hope they don't, since I love having the multiple ways to explore each island, but they could.
Quintessence
Nah, they'll do pretty much the standard pokemon game. I don't think you'll have all trial captains available from the start and choose whatever order, that'd be troublesome. They'll just guide the player to each if them from weakest to strongest. B.Leu
Nah, sadly, I doubt it will be the case. That's be pretty badass if though. Eh, imagine, Pokemon: Breath of the Wild version, because boy, oh boy !
Espinosa
Fuck I can't believe we have only 2 weeks to wait.
Jedi
Not every generation can have a Kanto where you can go in almost any order It'll be linear as hell I bet, and we'll get the exp all super duper early -rolls eyes-. I don't mind the former part, but the latter is silly still.
Espinosa
XY didn't treat Exp Share fairly... If you turn it off and play with a team of six, they'll be so underlevelled by Victory Road that Repels will always be ineffective.
Baldrick
I hope the exp share returns, I loved being able to try out different team combinations without having to grind. I tried to have a full team as early as I could. I didn't abuse switching out for experience all that much.

Really? In one of my X playthroughs, I remember having a full team by the time I caught Snorlax, I still didn't end up underleved. Did you try battling every trainer in the routes? In one of my X playthroughs, I remember having a full team by the time I caught Snorlax, I still didn't end up underleved. Did you try battling every trainer in the routes? More or less. I wasn't speedrunning or anything, but I might have missed a few trainers here and there. My Exp Share-less XY runs were moderately challenging because I'd end up underlevelled for the E4 portion of the game (not really noticeable until that point though). Some frailmons like Vivillon and Kadabra would die to a little breeze and their sweeping capabilities were severely limited. Kadabra's especially.
