Let's Talk Stages

if you want to talk about boat maps, what about the one from awakening on your way to the new island? the game talks about how there is about hundreds or thousands of boats. that could take place as an entire map itself in an awakening story line, how you need to go to once place to the next and set the enemies boats on fire. it makes perfect sense for a boat level.

I think a map in the Tower of Guidance would be pretty good. You could have Ascent play and travel up to the different levels and encounter the different bosses there and have the Begnion soldiers, the dragons, and the spirits for varied enemies. Castle Crimea based off of its Path of Radiance endgame would be cool as well. If Judgral content makes it then the Battle of Barharra would be my best guess for a map to choose there as well, it'd be hectic with meteor spells raining from above and such.

Other than those three off the top of my head I wonder if a lot of the levels will be generic. Locations are hard to be terribly iconic for the series when they show up usually only for their specific map and rarely are visited in multiple games. Perhaps Arena Ferox would be picked seeing as it's a Smash Bros stage and Castle Siege/ Coliseum are pretty generic, so we might get more locations like that to be more representative of series staples than individual places.

Besides Awakening and Fates, what games seem to be the most popular in Japan? If we know that, maybe we could figure out what maps would make for good stages in those games and we could have an idea of what we should expect.

Jedi: Ooh, I see! And a mounted unit is in that! And then he dismounts. I can see FE mounted units working this way. That boat map also looks pretty cool!

Yeah, Hyrule Warriors was the oddball in terms of having Epona be a full out moveset, because usually mounts work like as you saw in that video, you can call for them and they help you move faster, along with having differing moves while mounted. Although I'm sure thats why Hyrule Warriors has a dash (I've heard Pirate Warriors also has it). Because they lacked the traditional mounts.

For Gaiden representation, KT can add in the Fear Mountain map -- it would be interesting to fight a mob of teleporting witches.

/index.php?/profile/5281-jedi/" rel="">@Jedi You seem to know your Musou, and I forgot if you mentioned it in your video, but since saving villagers is a thing in FE would that work for this game?

There are the occasional escort missions in Musou games yes, including civilians in a few cases. So I believe it could work.

When it comes to possible stages, I would like to see some sort of revamp going on to locations.

Kinda like how Dynasty Warriors (the latter games at least) portray New Hefei Castle as contraption-filled, with wind generators, large moving gears, ballistae, pyrocannons, etc. Even considering the anachronisms going on, the castle still manages to stand out, in my opinion. It helps to make it unique, at least.

That sort of stuff would be cool to see happening for a FE location, I'd think.

Serenes Forest

I mean, it's already been a battle ground many a time. Still is one, in some ways.

Anyways:

-Isle of Talys

-Khadein

-Macedonian Aerie

-Burning Plains/whatever Awakening chapter 1's area is called

-Feroxi Border

-Dragon's Table/area around Castle Plegia

-Mila Tree

-Ship battle from Awakening Chapter 14

-Bottomless Canyon

-Hoshidan Field (where the iconic decision scene takes place)

-Vallite Ruins

-Woods of Mokushu

As for music... well, as long as songs sound anything like this, we'll be fine:

Seriously, this guy has some good stuff.

Sorry, no thanks. I don't use non-Nintendo consoles. They never have enough games I'd be interested in. Many of them appear to be shooters or some other gorey mature game. And if they aren't, they just look uninteresting.

You betray your ignorance there you know that? I don't play those types of games myself just so you know. LOL.

Not gonna try to persuade you but I bought my Xbox 360, PS3 and Vita for specific games. This partiality crap people like to spout makes no sense. I have two 3DS consoles, a Wii and will be getting both The Switch and and a Wii U later this year. My point is if there is a game that's out for a non-Nintendo console, I will buy the system for it.  Tales of Vesperia was the game I bought my 360 for. Tales of Graces f was the game I bought my PS3 for. Valhalla Knights 3 was what I bought my Vita for.

I feel a rant fest coming on so I'll stop myself there >.>;

lets just say a good warriors game for the nintendo system would be samurai warriors 3 for the wii. so if they want to know more of the warriors games, thats a decent game to play.

Well, I'm just someone that doesn't typically buy consoles just for one game, okay? That PS1 game I mentioned is the exception only because it wasn't released on any other console and I just loved it that much. And it's the only exception so far.

I'm sorry, but I'm just gonna say that people are allowed to have their preferences and trying to persuade them to change those preferences is a lesson in futility.

Back to potential stages, its totally possible that we might not see iconic stages so to speak, but more familiar locales as was stated earlier, if my theory about this being the Outrealms is right, then I think theres more of a chance for oldschool maps, but who knows.

Posted

The Outrealms is the most obvious route for them to take in the story, isn't it? A built in reason to have stages from varying games~ I like Fates and Awakening, but I'm hoping for more of a variety as far as stages go.

I think the Riven bridge from PoR and RD would make for a chaotic map, it got plenty of screen time in the Tellius Saga as well. I can only imagine the carnage of two giant armies clashing with no room to escape. Although I'm not sure it would blend well with the gameplay, the linearity of a bridge might be an example of bad level design. But by adding enough obstacles/rubble and the notorious pitfalls it could still end up as a fun map.

Radiant Dawn's part 3 endgame could make for a excellent stage. The objective was to kill a large amount of soldiers.  That's perfect for a stage. You would fight Daein with Skrimir and Tibarn as generals

Posted

A battle on the back of Grima against Risens? The Risens also spawn form portals at that map so that wouldn't be a problem.

Also Grima could attack the player.

Posted

Im thinking they would change what the spawn points for the enemies were into made up bases for you to capture and prevent anymore renforcements from comming.

Posted

Also had another idea for a stage

For those who played RD, do you remember at the beginning of second arc, you are in Crimea's sky as Elincia and Marcia?

That would be a great stage for exclusive flyers units like Pegasus, Wyverns and even Bird Laguz.

The objective would be to not let a single enemy reach Leanne.

Posted

In the trailer, it seems that Chrom fought on a stage with a background that looked rather similiar to the Courtyard portion of Plegia Castle.

Posted

How about a stage based off of chapter 10 from FE4?

waves of enemies coming forth, castles to take to raise moral for your allies, the generic bosses acting as generic officers, Julius and Ishtar coming in with Julius being a Lu Bu parallel for that battle, not to mention a kick ass rock mix of the map theme would be great.
