Lightcosmo
Funny to see people claim when you don't know enough about a game/series due to lack of playtime, etc: Over 200 hours in every CS game lol

BrightBow
Daniela is easily the best quest giver in Ecclesia. She actually tells you the location you have to go to. With everyone else you are left guessing. Both about the area and whether or not you are looking for something that can be found through exploration or if it's a random drop from an enemy or a random chest. And in her case she wants you to draw specific locations. So there is no RNG involved whatsoever. Also needs to a nice point about the value of an artist's personal depiction of something even during a time when photography provides an accurate image of what a thing looks like. Which is a pleasant change of pace compared to the other quest lines being all jokey and stuff. Edited September 3 by BrightBow

BrightBow
"I've lost everything. My emotions, my memories, my brother, my purpose..." Man, this lady is impressively sad about losing her emotions. Also what about your adoptive father? Wanna include him in the list of things lost? No? It's honestly wild how the game treats Barlowe. Funny as it is, I don't get why they took the route of having him act like the most generic crazy evil cultist possible. Losing your father to an evil force like Dracula or Fox News should feel devastating. But they treat him like he is just some guy they ran into once or twice at the office. Losing your father to an evil force like Dracula or Fox News should feel devastating. But they treat him like he is just some guy they ran into once or twice at the office. To be fair, in the context of Shanoa having no emotions or memories, he probably does feel like some guy they ran into once or twice at the office. ...That being said, yeaaaah. I fucking love my cackling idiot scrunkly that falcon punches and yells "stupid disciple!" but they really could've used him to better emotional effect. Heck, even if you want to go that route with purportedly emotionless Shanoa, what about Albus? He has his emotions and his memories, he was the other adoptive son of Barlowe, and yet he speaks of the old guy with nothing but detached bitterness for the sake of the "I was a good guy all along even though I never acted like it for no reason" twist. Let him be sad! He's been just as betrayed! Nevertheless I'd not want them to lean heavier on the "he was possessed by the seal" angle, I adore the idea that this insane asshole raised two children for decades and pretended to be a kind and loving mentor with the sole purpose of eventually using them to bring back Dracula Edited September 3 by Saint Rubenio

BrightBow
I always liked how Order of Ecclesia used the stereo audio to indicate in which direction Dracula is teleporting. Portrait of Ruin didn't do that. Like the battle itself a lot less, though. A very trial and error "you just have to know where to stand so you don't die" kinda boss. ...on a related note, Eligor would have been a much better boss if he didn't do contact damage. Finally to Albus. Well, the Switch's touchscreen works. It's just that the Switch is a lot larger than the DS. So in practice you can't really teleport while keeping your fingers on the buttons. No problem though. Because with the cursor set to max speed, using the right stick for the touch screen actually works really well for this. I might prefer playing this way. Now gonna aim to fill up the bestiary and shards. Well, I think I can't get the entries for the final boss yet, but everything else is fair game now. Interdimensional Observer
Kicked off this morning with something familiar, yet different. With talk of Castlevania here as one reason (of several), I got Paradiso Guardian underway.😀 Originality this game has not. It's Igavania, no hiding the inspiration, the Steam description even mentions SotN.😛 2D with decent spritework? Yes. Big explorable castle? Yes. Candles you can break for MP restoration? Yes. Holy water ground firebombs? Yes. The one twist on the formula- it's gay alright.😘 Immaculately muscular human guys? Yes. The save rooms- the protagonist Lenga takes a bath/shower. 🛀 The statues of demons decorating the gothic castle? Always of fit masculine forms, and sometimes if you look carefully you can just about see some tiny pixel junk. A bunch of demons are shirtless hunks, either in underwear, or wearing pants yet often with a loincloth to draw attention. A few of the humanoid enemy designs directly copied from SotN-OoE have been gender-flipped. In Castlevania, the Alura Une is a naked girl in a big flower, here it's a guy as the above screenshot shows. Plenty of "subtle" homoeroticism.😄 -The only raw thing is the handful of "Naughty Angel" scenes (I've only seen one so far), those are NSFW CGs of the m/m kind.🍆 Which you are given the option of turning off (the selector suggests doing so for streaming purposes), but I see no reason to do that.😝 Enjoyable for what is. I like Metroidvanias, they're light actiony fun and short. And this one is instilled with a certain spirit I don't see every day.😆 My only real gripe with Paradiso Guardian so far- I have found only two warp rooms.😑 That ain't enough in a game like this! I sometimes feel like griping when it comes to these or save rooms and their placement, but that's a fair point against this one. Still not over finding as many in the one's I'd been playing lately. 1 hour ago, Interdimensional Observer said: Which you are given the option of turning off (the selector suggests doing so for streaming purposes), Ah advertising, the true barrier of porn in everyone's face
