Ah that explains it.

I hadn't the heart and courage to say it, to be more precise. ^^

Yeah, at least for me, there's nothing on PS5 that immediately grabs my attention.

Same, honestly. Since the new Nep game is another remake, I really don't want a PS5, right now.

PS4 on the other hand, i do have my eye on, mainly because of 13 Sentinels, a game that everyone who's played it says is very good but they cannot elaborate because everything past like the first minute is spoilers lmao.

It is the most "dude trust me" game i've ever seen and i am intrigued.

Nice, nice!
Also, I won't push them on you, but Blue Reflection and Nights of Azure are also on there!

I don't know if you'd enjoy Ayesha but i'll leave that to you.

After everything you've posted about it, I'm skeptical myself, but I want the whole trilogy, in all honesty.

Same. PS4 and Switch have me set for...well, years at this point.

Add the 3DS and several emulators to that tally for me, but yeah. 100% this.

Felicia dodged an 80% that would've killed her, then Leo got hit by two 48s so she could heal herself by healing him.

How nice of him. Now, if only he could be that nice to his son...

I consider Conquest's gameplay to be absolutely devoid of anything but agonizing frustration, in addition to its story and (most of) its characters being absolutely horrid to me.

I mean, yeah, why do you think I like it?

23 minutes ago, DragonFlames said:

Well, I do like the DS Fire Emblem games. And I still want to do that FE12 playthrough I promised!

Dew it.

I'm just saying, it is a bit on the nose that a guy looking like that is the boss of a Paralogue that heavily features a very scantily clad girl.

Senno be like "m'lady, I'm a nice guy, won't you go out with me?"

He's even got the fedora tip. It's perfect.

There are anime books, aren’t there?

And on that subject, gonna resume Vestaria Ch5 in a bit.

I'd certainly want more "RNG when fighting Matagroth" than "RNG when doing... just about anything else".

I have every intention to! Don't worry! ^^
I probably won't make an LP out of it, but I have plans to document at least some of it here!

I unironically enjoyed a Senran Kagura game. And NOT for the horny.

Hate to ruin your day, ...but you know that Neptunia crossover it's getting? Well, I've seen comments from fans to the effect that both franchises are dead in the water at this point, besides a spinoff here and there. Shall they share a funeral?⚰️ ⚰️

The director or producer, some important guy on the SK franchise said "the game industry is getting too prudish for my kind of games" -so fans have said without me seeing the actual source.

Eh, I wouldn't worry! After all, a gaming laptop might enable you to play those as of yet untouched games!

Oh nononono! A gaming laptop is solely going to expand my lineup with new stuff:

  • Luminous Arc 3 when the translation is done.
  • I read Persona 2: Eternal Punishment's superior PSP version might in the coming years get translated. Stupid high encounter rate and me having watched an LP of the entire game be damned, I want to play the second half. I cannot allow that which would bet that humanity's collective unconscious will lead it to self-destruction to win.  I'll use cheats if I must to get myself early access to Estoma and infinite Tarot Cards.
  • I'd probably likewise cheat with Summon Night: Swordcraft Story 2  too, which felt sorta clunky against bosses and I played through about half of it before my old computer died. I'd emulate SNSS3 as well.
  • If I can run Citra on it, well Project X Zone and its sequel aren't on the eShop anymore, so it's fair to emulate them if you ask me. Better that than shelling out like $100 to get them secondhand.
  • The old NG64 original Custom Robo game. And ideally Custom Robo V2, the sequel, because it might be somewhere in the active fan translation pipeline.
  • Old 2D Tales post-Phantasia has me kinda curious about its quality, though a lack of quality of life is worrisome.
  • A slew of PS2 titles:
    • Xenosaga- all three episodes.
    • Namco X Capcom.
    • Maybe I'd bite into Atelier via the Iris Trilogy, which is more typical JRPG than Atelier normally is, which is why I'd consider it as my starting point.
    • The B Saga which one poster in this topic finds to be Platonic ideal of "fun".
    • Super Robot Taisen: Original Generations. I've played the GBA versions, but the newly-translated PS2 bundle of the games ought to be a walk down memory lane.
    • Possibly Suikoden V, because even though I found Suiko II to be overhyped, I want to try the second-best game in the dead franchise and see if it's any better being less old. Although I have Suikoden III on my PS3 unplayed.
  • Civilization V, with both expansions, because I enjoyed Civ VI a great deal. I'll consider Civ IV, but the highly acidic elitists for that game are ruining it for me NGL, and the rest of the Civ games look too visually dated for me.
  • Now that my toes are in the 4X genre with Civ VI, I want to try other games in the genre. And I have hunkering for sci-fi 4X for reasons I don't understand, Alpha Centari is too visually dated, and Beyond Earth is permanently unfinished, so this Stellaris game I hear of might be what I pick.
  • Dragon Quest Heroes I & II, because Square never released the Switch bundle of the two games outside of Japan. They are Dragon Quest games with Musou & tower defense aspects weaved into it.
  • Tales of Berseria and Arise would be fun, and clearly more pressing on the laptop than other games.
  • Oh, and I'll join the Trails cult too.
  • Probably more Ys, but I'll get Ys IX on Switch regardless of PC vs. Switch performance.

-Fire Emblem 12: Hard Mode playthrough
- 7th Dragon
- 7th Dragon 2020
- 7th Dragon 2020-II
- Fire Emblem 4 (if the shitty SNES emulator stops killing my CPUs, that is)
- Luminous Arc games

As reminder, for these games.

  • If FE4 is a bore, don't force yourself. This is one of those very polarized FEs.
  • For FE12, ambush reinforcements can be nightmarish on several chapters *opens arms wide and embraces the onrushing fire breath*.🔥
  • I never finished the original 7th Dragon, got a little grindy and my old computer died before I could. I'd step back first to 2020 and then 2020-II, they'll feel very familiar and less aged.
  • The LAs gradually better over time, it up to you whether to go back to LA1 first, or LA2 or 3 (if translated by the time you get to it) as your first. FYI, LA1 could be laggy for me even on an original fat DS.

The heck is Playboy?

An old US magazine that decades ago popularized the bunny-suited girl as sexy. Saying you're "reading it for the story articles" is an old excuse that you aren't reading it for the pictures of the ladies. An excuse that nobody believes.

Oh, I still need to play Atelier Escha and Logy as well. Heh...heh...

The combination of these two names makes me think of the word "eschatology", which is a fancy way of saying "a system of thought concerning death, final judgement, and how the world will end". Looks close enough to be intentional.

This does come with a high risk level of flopping for you though. Make sure you can find some other titles first shall I suggest Odin Sphere Leifthrasir edition?.

Anyway, the reason "I read it for the articles" is a joke is in part that, at some point, it was true to an extent.

Playboy Magazine may be infamous for their photos of women either scantly-clad, in provocative costumes, or just outright nude. At the same time, however, it did had stuff other than the photos. Interviews with famous people, writers hosting their works or snippets of it, and other similar stuff.

The magazine wasn't just for porn, basically. It had "class", or as much class you could say it had for hosting... the other stuff.
