Lightcosmo
Funny enough, X-2 is higher on my list, contrary to popular opinion, i enjoy the game more than X. X-2 has way more usable options than X does.
Saint Rubenio
Now I'm in some casino place looking for a guy called Master Codebreaker. I can only imagine he codebreaks masterfully. Eh. The location is pretty cool, so no complaints here. Also, the hilarious Leia flying scene happens way earlier in the movie than I thought it would. But I guess they needed her out of the way to allow everyone's second favorite character from Star Wars, Admiral Pinkhair, to assume command and be a general nuisance. 1 hour ago, BrightBow said: Game of the year right there. So far, yes. I mean, it probably won't be my game of the year, seeing how Live a Live gets remade this year, not to mention Mario XCOM 2. But it's definitely the only one that has a chance against Elden Ring. 58 minutes ago, Armagon said: It was pretty cool. Honestly, Splatoon 2's single player was the most fun i had with the game. I hear Octo Expansion is very good, i might redownload the game and grab that off NSO. I see. I did play Splatoon 1's singleplayer back in the day. It was... okay. Splatoon 2 is a game I haven't bothered with since the online fiasco. Doesn't help that it requires Joycons and I'm pretty sure mine drift. Quote Also did you mean to say something about Pyslocke? Cause you quoted that bit but didn't say anything. I probably did, but forgot. Something along the lines of "humanity sucks", I presume. 56 minutes ago, Dayni said: OT spoilers Hide contents >They still have Yong Anakin at the end of RotJ Trash. A relatively short duology spinoff that is lightly dark. I'd label it "Young Adult Dystopian Novels, Featuring Cannibalism and a Splash of Indic Religion". It's what happened one time when SMT tried to go a little more JRPG mainstream, but not turn into Persona. The cannibalism tends to be the thing that gets noted & joked upon the most with the duology. Although it ain't that bad actually. The heroes have to do it narratively and you do it plenty in gameplay, but the heroes don't enjoy it. It's either eat human flesh, or: grow incredibly weak from the gnawing hunger within, or fail to resist the urge and go crazy and devour everyone without restraint. Those who consciously and joyously embrace human consumption are considered lacking in their humanity. Visually, it wasn't a problem for me either, it's not gruesome at all. All you see is pretty much just blood; no half-eaten limbs with bones sticking out strewn about, nor do you witness anyone biting into a still-breathing lung like an empanada. It doesn't cross the "Oh shit that's dark!" line for me. I admit I did get hungry a few times playing through the games.🤤 For a PB&J -peanut butter & jelly sandwich if you're not familiar with the American childhood lunchtime classic; not Philip Bestmeat & Jessica his wife. 2 hours ago, Saint Rubenio said: Maruj being hated by the universe. ping
Mechanically, X-2 is honestly really good. And conceptually, I like the idea of the main characters looking for some fun after saving the world, what was it, two or three years prior. Be a bit selfish, be even a bit of an asshole, but then get drawn into saving the world once again, helped by Yuna's patholocigal selflessness. What I disliked about the game is that its silliness really ventures into obnoxiousness (Rikku is tolerable in X, partly because the game as a whole isn't exactly upbeat, but holy shit is she annoying in X-2) and the lack of a narrative thread for most of the game. I find that sidequests are consistently the worst part about JRPGs (other than blatant fanservice I hope this is recognisable as blatant bait) and X-2 is 90% sidequests. And 10% blatant fanservice. And if Brother could stop trying to bang his cousin for, like, five minutes, that would be nice Edited April 23, 2022 by ping
Saint Rubenio
So uh... Not sure if anyone really cares about Lego Star Wars spoilers, of all things, but I guess I'll put this in a box. Spoiler Why did I just beat the shit out of Luke Skywalker by tossing rocks and laundry poles at his head? Did that happen in the movie? I mean, I'm assuming not the rocks and the laundry poles, but did Rey just smack Luke with a stick and this prompted him to go burn a tree? 14 minutes ago, Interdimensional Observer said: I admit I did get hungry a few times playing through the games.🤤 For a PB&J -peanut butter & jelly sandwich if you're not familiar with the American childhood lunchtime classic; not Philip Bestmeat & Jessica his wife. Except playing shooters with a controller is the most miserable experience. I'm not interested in Splatoon 2's campaign enough to pick between one of the two less-than-ideal options. Well, I’ve seen Mist and Jill’s B support too… but it was such a nothing support. Which is weird, because it’s one of the two supports that more than one member of teehee recommended. And it’s not like I’m seeing the other one because lol, using Oscar. Which is weird, because it’s one of the two supports that more than one member of teehee recommended. And it’s not like I’m seeing the other one because lol, using Oscar. People have recommended Mist and Jill's support for a very specific reason. A very specific reason that everyone praises as an insanely cool detail. I think it's neat enough, myself, but it would've been cooler if there was a point to it in the gameplay, which there isn't. The thing either accomplishes absolutely nothing or is a massive insta-reset dickmove. Like all things Path of Radiance, the text associated to it is good, but it's undermined by the complete incompetence of the gameplay. But, I'm getting ahead of myself. Don't let it worry you for now. Heck, if you go blind, there's a chance you won't even see it. Quote Reyson is the only character who gets development as part of the story, at least, so far. Was pretty hype ngl Oh, the moment's really good, far be it from me to deny it. My problem is... Sooks don't open this. Spoiler If Jill doesn't have the A support with Mist, she goes red, you go "wow that was great!" and then you have to redo another 45 minutes of Path of Radiance boredom. If Jill has the A support with Mist, she has a neat talk with her dad, you go "wow that was great!" and nothing happens. There's no gameplay incentive to do it, the optimal thing is to just shank Shiharam and never look back. Which is a pretty lame thing to be said about such a critical point in a character's development. You know what would've REALLY been awesome? If Shiharam gave Jill a personal weapon or some sort of other useful item if she has the A support with Mist. Something to justify taking the risk of her going red, and reward the player for seeing Jill's arc through. As it is, the text is its own reward, which... Well, come to think about it, for PoR's fans I guess that's already been the case the entire game, heh. I know, I know, Ruben being a hater again. I'm just saying, I wish PoR was better than it is. I want to like it as much as everyone else, y'know.
