Then there is Sylvis saving whoever went in to take on Griff in Berwick Saga. Also Paramethys saving one of the lemming priests. Tear Ring Saga has Sierra saving Shigen and Karla saving Zieg. It was... way better than I expected, primarily because I expected a high energy kawaii fun adventure that would be physically agonizing to sit through, and instead I got... well, something else. Spoiler For what I expected from the kewt furry loli story, that got slightly heavy. Loved the usage of the random encounters in the story before the boss fight, that was a great moment. Also I loved the moment where the game seemingly had Wolf Daddy die from his wounds like any dad in Japanese fiction ever... but no, the guy was just tired from the fight and fell asleep right there. Dead parents is a classic and all, but in her case she is forgotten so quickly that it's hard to remember that she ever existed at all. I mean, if she isn't supposed to be alive during the game, how is it better to have her die in a matter of seconds instead of her simply having been dead before the start of the story, unless you want that cheap shock factor?
