Dang, I've been defeated. Someone else managed an even more epic Derrick final boss kill than me.

Anyway, I've been playing more Prey. I went to this place called Arboretum through a no grav zone, but when I was near, voices rung out in the speakers. Survivors! I immediately turned back and went the other way, toward the cargo bay, where they had stated they were holed up.

There were two incredibly dangerous enemies in the way that I rapidly dashed past. While avoiding the first, I flew into a beam and broke my leg. While avoiding the second, I sped toward the ceiling and cracked my skull. Another powerful enemy near the cargo bay tore me to shreds and reduced my suit's integrity to 0.

Ah, yes. These people will truly see this shambling mess of a woman limping to them in a shredded suit and go "our hero."

...Also the excrutiating pain must be making her hallucinate because a fan-fucking-tastic bug happened where I was flung out of the station into space and then fell off the world to my death by random radiation.

Tbf you're only looking at the human characters. Wario and Waluigi are the exceptions but once you start looking at the scrimbolo bimbolos, things are way more varied regardless of gender.

I mean yeah, but hey, I'm just saying. Among the human characters it's just kinda weird how the princesses are all identical.

Wario World is made by Treasure, so it has to be good.

Though I suppose Treasure is more known for sidescroller action games.

I don't think I've ever played a game made by them. Or if I have, I don't know they made it.

(Also nice PFP, big nocturne vibes)

I saw Godzilla Minus One, it was peak. It was cool getting to see a Japanese Godzilla movie in theaters for once though the last two live-action ones were released in 2016 and 2004, so it's not too surprising that I haven't before now. Godzilla himself was comparatively grounded but no less menacing for it, and all of his scenes are very memorable.

Good point. Not like Eggman hadn't made his lackeys fight to the death before. Gamma being tested against one of siblings in Adventure before he goes AWOL comes to mind.

I didn't play much Sonic in general, but the Egg Dealer seems so... underwhelming for a final boss. I know Sonic as a franchise looves casinos (Why did this become a thing? Because Sonic rolls into a ball?), but this wasn't the place for a slot machine boss. Eggman has done more menacing things before ...though he is in the same game as the aforementioned Black Doom (and Devil Doom), and Diablon, maybe it would've been foolish to compete.

I've heard people say that the straight Neutral path is deliberately underwhelming to encourage players to pursue the other paths (which require more effort to access and thus I barely got to them when I was younger), so that might have something to do with it.

Last fight, do you remember

You ever stop to think about how all the Mario women have the exact same face?

Aren't there only four Mario women to begin with? And Daisy basically started as a Peach recolor. That's not even getting into the Toads.

Wait a minute... We're going to get Baby Pauline in the next Mario Kart, aren't we?

Omnivore? That should be Kirby!

As in, human women? Unless you count all those sports spin-off minor characters...

Okay, I think it's time to do some Blade pulling.

... If my Another Eden luck follows me here, then I'm bound for disappointment.

Kirby is the level 100 Gluttonous Destroyer.

Also, Acacia, I was reminded Viewtiful Joe exists and...

only now, so many years after I played this, have I realized what this probably referencez.😆

Final battle, first phase. Gotta go big.

It's been so long that I forget if the stages actually have any distinctly heroic or villainous vibes to them. The Doom (the flashback where G.U.N. swarms ARK) and the final stages aside. -Although even on the final stages, I forget the tone of the Dark-Neutral, it's another raid on the Black Comet, but I forget if there's any difference in the vibe compared to Pure/True Heroic (where I assume it's a cautiously optimistic outlook, raiding the Black Arms' base). I know that Dark-Neutral also uses the same ending theme as the True Dark route, which suggests to me it got the least attention.

Ah, right. Kirby is post-game level.

Hmm, using all my Common Core Crystal, only got Boreas for non-Common Blades. Don't know what were the odds of this, but I feel it's on the side of being expected.

Depends on what group you get. Each Rare Blade rate belongs to a table that has individual rates for each (this way more than 1 playthrougg can be different.

Hmm, I see.

Well, used crystals until I couldn't. For Rare Blades, also got Ursula, Azami, Kora, and Perceval. Perhaps I should stop there... or should I release a few Common ones and see if I can get a few more Rares?

For that table, fairly sure "assurance" would be akin to Heroes Pity summons.

And i know its not the best info, theres better out there, didnt have time to grab it.

I suppose I can get more crystals later on. So yeah, I'll do some more pulls...

Well, if it's already too RNG dependant, I guess I can just roll with what I get. And doing necessary adjustment, like with those Booster items.

Day has been all over the place for me, internally. Zero doubts I've crossed the threshold into major D episode territory.

Going to Trader Joe's (food store chain smaller than American supermarkets, known for its slightly-more-exotic/crazy-than-usual products, has something of a cult following -explaining this  for those who aren't American) and loading up on seasonal desserts and snacks should've made me absolutely gleeful. But the 🌧️ was definitely within me the entire time as I attempted to get lost in the delightful mundane. Got home, briefly walked the dogs, then I tried to do a little more mental health searching, struggling to do so b/c my brain yearned for sensory overload and couldn't entirely focus on the task. When I eventually got to Rune Factory 5 and did a single ingame day, my mind crawled up only to "emotionally neutralized", not "happy".

On the positive side, the pretzel bread pudding tasted good. -With ice cream to balance the saltiness of the pretzel with some sweetness. And then, just minutes ago, I found myself in the conundrum of "Do I allow myself to look at the entirely-undressed body pillow of a guy whose VN won't be released until who-knows-when in 2024?" (I choose  not to do so, leave him fresh in my mind for when the time comes.).😆

-Now back to RF5. The night is still young enough for it.

Viewtiful Joe is tokusatsu-inspired, which can be mecha-adjacent. Nonetheless, I kinda... laugh? smile? 😆? at the inclusion of a one-off mecha battle at the last minute, which VJ2 would also end up doing, and the DS spinoff slipped one in too and VJ3 surely would've -if only it had been made, resolve the cliffhanger Capcom!. It just speaks in a way to mecha being ingrained in Japanese pop culture I guess, which is... something 😆.

Honestly, it's kinda wild that we've technically not had a standard Doctor Who episode since The Timeless Child back in 2020. Since then, we've had

  • Revolution of the Daleks (New Year's 2021 Special)
  • Flux (Series 13 six-part serial)
  • Eve of the Daleks (New Year's 2022 Special)
  • Legend of the Sea Devils (Easter 2022 Special, not that it has anything to do with Easter at all)
  • The Power of the Doctor (BBC 100th Anniversary Special)
  • The Star Beast (60th Anniversary Special Part 1)
  • Wild Blue Yonder (60th Anniversary Special Part 2)
  • The Giggle (60th Anniversary Special Part 3)
  • The Church on Ruby Road (Christmas 2023 Special)

Series 14 begins sometime in March. Or May. And then, after three years, we'll get a standard Doctor Who episode.

And since XC2 is a current topic and i forgot to post the "effects of difference in levels"

7879628883b5de320a9010884b0f73ea.png

EXP is self explanatory, just that "RevHigh" is for higher level enemies and "RevLow" is for low level enemies.

Damage is again self explanatory, and the number is a multiplier, so it's 400% damage increase at levels 20 or higher for enemies and a measly 66% damage at lower than 20 levels.

Hit is literally accuracy, that is all.

ReactRevHigh is resistance to things such as "break" "Topple", etc. Yes, it's set to 100%, and no, i do not think this makes them 100% immune to them, just very unlikely.
