So, I need to get screenshots off the bean machine. Because I learned Bantu can just walk into magma/lava and sit there unscathed.

Bantu is the most powerful character in FE, will not change my mind.

I paused three times: First upon realising it's an isekai, Second upon JB saying he's Steve and finally at the end to process the character and writing I'd seen up to then.

What a bog standard movie this'll be. People are hopeful it'll be intentional and weird, but it's got too much money involved for that to be true right?

Enjoyable for what is. I like Metroidvanias, they're light actiony fun and short. And this one is instilled with a certain spirit I don't see every day.😆 My only real gripe with Paradiso Guardian so far- I have found only two warp rooms.😑 That ain't enough in a game like this!

Reminds me how I had an issue with that back in Circle of the Moon. Only five warp rooms, it left many areas (specially the entire "underground" section) pretty much devoid of easy/fast access.

Okay, enemy list only missing two entries. That will be the final bosses. Which means that, yes, I even beat IGA. Pft... still can't believe that.

Shards... I'm only missing one. The one from 8-Bit Overlord. I already defeated it twice... but still no joy.

Map at 99.80%... just the two squares from the final boss area, then.

Just about the large chunk of missing stuff is filling up the Item list. Tsk, that's gonna take the longest...

I sometimes feel like griping when it comes to these or save rooms and their placement, but that's a fair point against this one. Still not over finding as many in the one's I'd been playing lately.

-Annnd just beyond the flower boy in my earlier pic (it killed me and I took a brief break), a warp room.😆 I spoke too soon.

Speaking of other Metroidvanias, Harmony of Dissonance IIRC had warp room issues. And on save rooms, I've heard Hollow Knight has something of a problem of not following Metroidvania tradition of placing save rooms right next to boss chambers (not that I'll ever play it b/c supposedly fairly difficult).

Ah advertising, the true barrier of porn in everyone's face

Considering the old adage "sex sells", I'm not sure whether you're saying advertising thrusts horny at everyone, or keeps the explicit away.😆

This has often been said and uncritically accepted as fact, but in my opinion, it's an overreaching conclusion just going on the available evidence.

The first issue is that iconoclasts who worshiped YHWH on apophatic/iconoclastic terms would've left behind no archaeological proof of their existence. Only those who did produce idols, such as golden figurines of YHWH that've survived, would've, so mere absence of evidence is not, in this case, evidence of absence.

To make a delayed and brief response to this, fair point. -I'd write more, but I haven't had the energy or clear thoughts as to what to say 😅, so I'm simply making a polite acknowledgement that I read what you wrote.

Well, it has more than CotM, at least. Admittedly I don't remember I found it a hassle going around. At the very least, I found being able to use them to warp directly between Castles A and B much better than SotN only having the one place to swap (plus using Library Cards for one-way trips).

Had a dream that talk of an FE remake solving some language lore (in magic languages) was somehow news enough to make headlines. It was a weird dream for sure, I remembered something I ate in it afterwards.

What, not being clear you warp between the same castle by pressing down until you get the right room?

The latter.

It has 6, but the spacing is a bit awkward.

And none of that fixed that the game feels kinda slow. Like, Juste feels slow to me, even the dashing. I swear it has to be how he's animated, because I don't feel this way about Aria of Sorrow.

Ayo they cooked with this.

I'm much more interested in what Shizuna will do with hers. (Assuming she has one, it looked like she had one)

This isnt really a slight against Rean, his "true to form" style lacks flair.

Went out for breakfast today. French toast, some grilled crumb cake, and a side of home fries w/peppers & onions for some savory & bitter contrast to the sweetness of the other two things, was good.

I'll forgive him.😝

-That's as far as I'll go pic-wise I swear. Just excuse me this one time on this one day.😅

Maybe that was an issue? I don't quite recall my experiences with the game.

Weird, since Nathan felt even slower, with that odd choice to make running a double-tap. I've heard it said Juste is slow before -in the air, but not on the ground. TBF, the Belmont genes were not evolved for speed, watching LPs of Classicvania, the Belmonts feel like the "anti-Sonic" in old platformer franchise philosophy. Whereas the blue hedgehog has developed a reputation for "speed (as the reward for good play)", the vampire killers appear to me to have been intentionally designed as "fast-walkers with the aerial maneuverability of sacks of potatoes at best".

I finally got an actual start date. Monday it is.

Also the Joycon I sent off has returned (In a convenient new box that's nintendo branded because I assume the one I sent it in wasn't considered sufficient, which when I used a box I had lying around fair), will have to confirm if it drifts but so far so good, no sign.

Didn't seem fair to consider CotM when the Dash is a toggled thing and it does feel rapid at least. Juste also didn't seem that way to me in the air as much, but I don't have a great airgame. On the other hand, Juste has the divekick in his favour.

Imagine Dracula seeing them falling into pits and laughing about the potato Belmont

Been playing MotE, gotta vent.

Kaga dammit, randomised reinforcements are a terrible idea and I do not like it in MotE. It's bad from a speedrun or grindy perspective and of course if one takes, I dunno, 20 turns to start showing up you'd have no clue and it might cause a panic, I dunno. Just siptballing a hypothetical frustration. Now I must admit there was a barbarian sitting during much of this, but 8 or so turns shouldn't explain none showing up on other turns. Or justify that this is the one FE where you can't time lock reinforcements.

Sometimes it feels like half the suggestions made in Kaga FE deserve to be left in the past, which makes it harder to recommend other ones that shouldn't have been (like manaketes in this very game)

Renon is such a fun shopkeeper character.

renon-story.png

Making him trying to claim your soul if you spend too much money is such a fun concept. Showing that him being a demon with his own agenda isn't just some funny quirk that has no impact on the game.
Too bad the requirement is a bit high. You likely won't even collect 30.000 gold on a normal playthrough, let alone spend it all.

Plus, as a boss he is just a model swap of Death. Which is still nice for Carrie since she never gets to fight Death in her story.
Probably because Death is terrified of her. As he should. This most certainly does not look like the face of mercy.

Reminds me of that part in Bloodstained where

Spoiler

the traitor claims to have been using the shards you gave her to power herself up

Unfortunately, that's a lie, they don't actually do that. Shame.

I didn't actually know how that upgrade system even works. And I didn't play long enough to figure it out through trial and error.

These kinda games are difficult to play if they aren't on a handheld. And I know the Switch port runs way too awful to even consider playing that one.
