Me loving Garon is nothing new. I've said it many times before, the man's the funniest FE character.

Huh. Well, leave it to Observer to bring a history lesson in response to the most unlikely posts. Not that I'm complaining, of course. That was pretty interesting.

I was going to crack a joke of a certain kind, perhaps strikethrough it, in addition to what I actually wrote. But I took a step back and decided that it would break the balance I want in my Internet persona's personality (even if it's more of my personality than my IRL one, maybe). If I need to get it out of my system, better to write it in a Word document that nobody is going to ever *is suddenly forced to turn away some staring at my laptop's screen*. And on a similar note, although I didn't mind your Metroid rant before, I do like the idea you had for tossing it in a spoilers box.🙂

*Cough*

To continue with an armchair observation of mine. I've watched National Geographic or what have you documentaries where you see snippets uncontacted peoples and indigenous "tribal" (I hesitate when using this word b/c connotations of the imperialist's concept of "primitiveness") peoples who choose to live a premodern hunter-gather and maybe horticultural lifestyle, down to the attire. The ones I'm referring to, are those primarily in tropical rainforest regions, where the weather being hot and humid, means they do not need clothing to cover everything to stay warm and alive.

What do these who live like our prehistorical ancestors did wear? Well, if they're wearing anything at all, it's a skirt for the women, and some other covering for the mens' groins, I don't recall seeing anything covering women's breasts. Makes sense if you think they're acting rationally, as I would, since the nether regions make the babies, damaged goods aren't good for these peoples who live in small groups, they need protection if you're going to wear anything in these unbearably heated climes. Worse comes to worst, if a lady's chest is damaged, the societies that eventually turned into the ones we live in today said wet-nurses were okay in the past, what's to say among the indigenous that they would rule out doing the same?

As for whether these indigenous have a sense of modesty at all. Well, I do remember it was either Planet Earth or a related documentary series that showed some... Southeast Asian I think, indigenous peoples who wore grass skirts. They live in these beautiful tree houses very high off the ground, and if my memory doesn't fail me, there was something about climbing the ladders to those tree houses and not wanting the men to get a peek of the women from below. That sounds like they've a sense of sexual decency if you ask me.

Not like the indigenous peoples' environments and chosen lifeways are capable of sustaining enormous populations the way settled intensive agricultural societies that became modernity can. Regardless of whether the indigenous are horny just like the rest of us, or are humans who wear next to nothing but are actually more productive with their lives than ten million otakus looking the part combined, the indigenous peoples can't afford to have too many happy accidents.

Where was I going with this? Simple. I was trying to infer from humans in the modern world, who live like humans long ago, if perhaps still affected by modernity in some ways and hence blurring connection to the prehistorical past, about the fetish of breasts. These peoples have modesty, but it does not extend to ladies' chests -from what little I know of them. And thus, while it has probably has been the case ever since humanity evolved the mental capacity to fetishize that some men and women have been enthralled by big bazoongas or the opposite, that the woman's chest is not inherently in humanity's literal and cultural DNA, a the fruit of Womankind that Mankind has always forbidden from seeing and lusted after.

...Why did you lead me into this rabbit hole of some casual pseudo-academic analysis on breasts and fetishization Ruben? And here I thought I was done with speaking of sex for a few days after trying to jump off Cloud "Manchild Finds The First Porno That Speaks To Him" Nine! 😫

There's no room in my closet for skeletons, my old friend.

Hah! Well, fine. Some things are better left unsaid, I suppose.

Oh, don't worry, I said I'm trying to desexualize my mind, in order to focus more on video games. The process wasn't quite finished yet. You hurled chorizo onto the floor while I was still mopping it, which is better than doing the same upchuck as soon as I sit down in my recliner with a glass of limeade and toast to myself "mission accomplished".

I have successfully set up the PSX emulator on my 3DS and it is working perfectly. It's time to replay Persona 1.

Chrono Cross doesn't work very well. It normally hits 60fps (except for during battles and in the menus), but the sound and music are slightly distorted when there are slowdowns.

Well now, still not getting much Pain Grasta... but certainly more Poison Grasta showing up. Works for me, though I don't have as much Poison setters as Pain setters ready to use.

Lightchao is ready to join the Trails fandom without having played a single Trails game.

Oh please, that joke wrote itself. If I were a real Trails fan I would've said Sora replaced Estelle, because Sora means "sky" and I'm pretty sure Estelle is from Trails in the Sky.

And anyway, if I wanted to get into the series, the only games I'm capable of playing are Cold Steel III and IV (the only ones on the Switch), which I'm pretty sure I'm not supposed to start with. I'll just settle for talking about Rixia for now.

Wasn't this the case with Star Wars and the name "Darth Vader"? Something about "Vader" meaning "father" in a language like Dutch or German? Lucas didn't actually think of that, it was a pure accident.

I'm pretty sure it actually comes from "invader", like how Darth Sidious comes from "insidious".

South Korean dystopian series where people play children's games for 45K in Won except if they lose, they die.

So it's like Yu-Gi-Oh Abridged, but unironic? Technically the actual Yu-Gi-Oh too, but the abridged series places a bigger emphasis on the "children's card game" thing.

A major news organization deadass saw children playing red light, green light and went "just as seen in the snow 'Squid Game'".

Just like how Persona 5 invented relationships, schools, and JRPGs... but I wonder, why did they call the first Persona game "Persona 5"?

Astrea's a great lord. She kicks ass and takes names, even with only one promotion.

I like how this is the complete opposite opinion to everyone else. Lex is widely considered the best unit in the game, or one of the best if nothing else, while Nicole is greatly underappreciated and Condor falls off hard after the earlygame.

Lex is a little like Sherlock in Berwick Saga. He takes a little to get going, but once he's gotten going, the man murders anything he sets his sights on with ease. Except he's even more ridiculous than Sherlock, because Galeforce lets him murder two people per turn! Still, I can understand getting impatient, especially if your Condor has grown well. And I'll admit I don't subscribe to the "Lex best unit" opinion either. In my opinion, that title belongs to Evan.

Speaking of Condor, if you aren't supporting that one with Lex, you're doing it wrong. Try to get them to A before benching him, at least. Trust me on this one, it's great.

Man, imagine if they'd actually used the official artwork in game for DSFE.

It'd require the rest of the cast done but I don't think anyone would say no to that.

And there is some irony, that in all likelihood, humans taken as fairly good (if deeply flawed in some regards), is that others would be willing to forgive some social awkwardness. We're different, that's fine, others have faults too, let us not forget, and as long as we do make a conscious effort, we'll be good. Although, I understand being paranoid to prevent a gradual decline in being conscious of one's social behavior.

And yet we can also be judgemental about others we don't know or are all that close to, which makes the need to maintain some degree of decorum important.

That's not even going into interview scenarios and all that drama.

And I'm still someone who has a slight problem with buying stuff, and the occasional moment of awkwardness when ordering things from a menu.

Certainly something I'd run into in a pub if I have to look over the bar to see anything in the fridges because they're not visible from a distance which makes it harder to decide on something before being at the bar to order.

(Or that time where I was asking about Neo TWEWY in a store and made the mistake of asking about it by abbreviated title first. Thankfully the same person wasn't there when I bought it.)

Yep, just a normal day for Draggy

Hooray

I hope that you're on the mend from these.

As for being a waste of space, as hard as it must be to feel that way at times, no. That is false.

To be fair, it is a bit of a Western cultural thing, which thanks to cultural imperialism (not that I think the West was intentionally trying to spread the Book of Breasts, that's not the Good Book) has spread across the entire world. I do remember reading in a few offhand mentions instances in textbooks over the years, that some African cultures had let women go topless, breasts weren't sexualized, though shoulders might've been. Breasts might've been exaggerated in art across the world for thousands of years, but there is often the possibility of it not having been done because fetish, but because of breastfeeding and hence they were a sign of a goddess/woman's great fertility.

Fertility and sex are inartistically intertwined, true, you need sex to prove one is fertile, but there is a difference between "I pray to thee Cybele and your boundless chest in hopes I have many babies", and "Venus ahhhhhhhhh your breasts are beau-ti-ful!". Being able to identify if breast fetish is present I'd take to be speculative, but not impossible with more sculptural evidence (look for exotic dancers in the stone-carved reliefs perhaps?), and through any additional evidence about the peoples and their traditions one can find. -Not that I've studied this kind of history. I now regret never having taken a gender studies class or the like in college.
