  1. The first skell obtained scene from Xenoblade X

Seeing this stage and playing it for the first time in Mario Kart 8. I loved the original track and this redesign surpassed all my expectations. Only downside is 1 lap.

Call of Duty 4 - All Ghillied Up. One of the most memorable missions in Call of Duty history and I will never get sick of playing this mission everytime. I want to experience this mission blind again.

FE13 final boss music. Still love it to this day.

Elite Beat Agents - I was booooorn in a crossfire hurricane!

Playing Caspian Border for the first time in Battlefield 3 Beta

Sonic Colors Phase 2 final boss theme. It's your stereotypical main theme remix but I love this cliche. It made me feel aww yeah Sonic the hedgehog is back and better than ever.

  2. where's dijon

    Back in his football cave.

My MC is my current avatar and she's taller than Elma. Currently I'm in Rank 7 Interceptors in Samurai Gunner.

Also it took 22 hours but I finally got my first skell and 2 years of waiting since E3 2013 to finally see this scene in the Wii U. It takes me back.

Also recreated the exact same scene with the E3 music.

  3. i'm guessing the multiplayer is only online?

    I don't think I know anyone IRL who owns a Wii U.

Yes but there are two different online systems.

The first one is the squad system where you're pitched into a lobby of 32 players. You don't really play against or co-op with each other in the same maps but you can send miiverse messages, trade items and listen to what other players are currently doing, updates and you can get benefits and a couple of rewards for doing so. Think of this as a spotpass feature.

The second one is actual missions where someone creates a lobby with up to 4 players and 3 others can join together in a monster hunter style lobby and co-op together fun. However these are difficult and the first mission is literally all four of you battling a level 60 monster.

  4. How is this game? The things scaring me are how massive the over world is (I don't want to spend 15 minutes running across a field wtf) and overcomplicated battle system.

the battle system is really not that complicated. It's confusing at first sight but really it plays like most MMORPGs. Your character autoattacks every few intervals and then you can call specific arts to do massive damges or certain buffs/debuffs. That's literally it. The customization can be daunting at first glance but it's really nothing complicated. It just has a lot of options to affect the outcomes.

It honestly doesn't take long to run across the fields. You can run super sanic speed and if you have visited certain areas, you can fast travel (teleport) to them immediately with your map on the gamepad. The game encourages you to explore and most sidequests takes me about 5 to 10 mins give or take even if it's going out in the fields or different continents.

  5. I am going to be very honest, my first 12 hours of this game have been a lot more positive than the original Xenoblade Chronicles. Despite the game taking almost 3 to 4 hours before you actually get into the main meat of the game which is around chapter 3 or 4, the pacing of the game is much better.

The sidequests have much more interesting stories, morals and questionable objectives this time and there are much better rewards this time around. Not to mention everything is centralized in one hub so you don't have to go from one town to another to find that one guy that needs help in order to activate that specific sidequest. However in order to progress through the game, you are required to do some sidequests before you can advance to the next chapters of the story. Luckily these optional sidequests you pick will be able to help you in the next story chapters as it makes you progress through without having the need to constantly grind. However the terminologies can throw you off early game if you don't know what material does what and where to get them. There is an intel library you can access to help you learn what each thing is though.

The world is massive and I mean really massive. I still haven't even explored 15% of the first main continent and you will be looking at the sceneries a lot more in this game.

In terms of gameplay and combat, it's pretty much like Xenoblade Chronicles where you pick arts and do auto attacks at the same time but there have been some nice little fixes and changes. For example, you can actually see if you are doing the QTE window correctly or not and there is a feedback which was really helpful because I never knew if I was doing it correctly in the original. The game now involves guns and close quarter melees and there is a lot of vareity of playstyles of different classes and specific weapon types to choose from. Rifles, Snipers, Heavy Machine and sword types all attack different and affect the outcomes much more drastically. If you are struggling to defeat a boss, there is an option to lower if you get repeatedly defeated but that's up to the player. The map system using the gamepad is much more convenient as I can now select to fast travel anywhere I want without having to go through the long loading screens and delayed renders. Yes you can also play with the gamepad only.

Character customization while is great and neat, does unfortunately offer some limitations. It requires you to pick a preset before you select the hairstyles, body types and makeups etc. This might throw off some people as there are some that would have preferred to change everything on the go immediately without having to longer their thinking process of what they want but that was me when I was playing it. Of course no breast slider in the NA version. The avatar works like a silent protagonist and you have specific responses that can affect the relationships of your party members.

My main issues with this game are, still I have no idea what's going on during combat and the text is a bit too small and a bit difficult to read even with a bigger TV. Due note the game runs at 720p native. So people with really small TVs, this might be a challenge. It's also easy to get lost in the beginning of the game as I had absolutely no idea what I was doing to progress in the beginning but I did adapt and got used to the system about a few mins later when I learned about the main requirements to advance the story. One save file per user is kind of annoying limit but luckily you can just create multiple Wii U users on your console if you want more save files.

Overall, I am loving this game more than the original Xenoblade Chronicles and I look forward to the story and events that transpire more in the game.

  6. Anyways, I got my copy and there are some really interesting tidbits here and there. Due note if you are expecting a full blown concept art book, you are not going to find it here. It's mostly interviews, small little insights and studio information. So unless you're well versed into Japanese you probably won't find much value in this other than collectors item or just a fan in general. There are some pretty cool unique things like some Tellius storyboarding, concept arts for FE6 battle animations, Future Past DLC concept map works and a FE9 Titania concept art something that I don't think has been posted or uploaded before.

Here are some snapshots of interesting things I seen in the book.

  7. Straight from the horse's mouth, presented to TIME magazine.

Thoughts? I don't think there's enough benefit to really /need/ amiibo for anything

Kind of glad it doesn't right now because if we were to require an amiibo for certain features, it would cause a pretty big uproar. Despite me loving Code Name Steam, the FE units were already at a borderline of affecting the gameplay features considering how much they effect gameplay elements and can making some maps in the game much easier if you have some of these units to begin with whereas someone who doesn't is left in the dust. The thing is, the reason why they are selling well is because they are producing figures of characters that people have been begging merchandise for in a very very long time something that Nintendo is kind of braindead for not knowing that to begin with.

In terms of Japan and Europe, the video game market is much bigger in the Americas and there is much more interest in merchandise here than it is in Japan and Europe in general. America is all about consuming and business is built on consumption in the states which is why merchandises sell well here in NA. I don't know why Nintendo keeps holding this back as importers from America have been snapping up a significant amount of portion of merchandises here than it is back at home. For example, Kid Icarus figmas were shelfwarming in Japan and they thought because there was no interest in instant sellouts, they assume they shouldn't reproduce more. Only that when they sold some in Nintendo World, it was an instant sellout immediately. Now they go for 300 dollars each.

  8. Went to my first ever local Smash 4 tournament.

Here were the results from my pool.

    CTE3IoZ.jpg

My pool was: BigD was Ryu, Kerv was Luigi, Slancy247 was Yoshi, Lord Fluffy was Zss/Falcon, Sinister was Zss/Lucina and Me Mario. I lost with a 2/5 win matches and just got 4th place shy of Bracket requirement.

Interesting story during my first match with Slancy247, the matches were really close and he told me that he regularly attends these tournies and he has never lost to a single match to a Mario main since January until today. Despite me still losing. During friendlies, I kept destroying another guy's Falcon and he attends these regularly too and he was surprised by my playstyle. He said I was nothing like most Mario mains and I kept throwing him off a lot and he was really determined to beat me. He did like maybe 2 out of the 9 or so friendly matches. It was awesome knowing that my playstyle of Mario throws a lot of people off.

  9. The only time i have a beef is when people say the Japanese is better objectively, because thats not entirely true. Opinions on that kind of thing are extremely subjective.

Yeah it's really annoying when people say this as the reverse can happen too. For example in Japan, Call of Duty has a pretty big cult following and loved by fans there. When Square Enix localized the games to Japan, they also dubbed them with Japanese voices and majority of the fans did not like them. Many were upset about it and they felt it sounded really unnatural to the tone and the settings that were being established in the presentations and background.

My opinons of voice dubbing is that if it sounds right, natural and works well with the tone of the character, then I am fine with it regardless of what language is being said.

Here are some CoD footages dubbed in Japanese you can judge for yourself.

  10. I don't think genders were specified for the starters but all the other Pokemon in this PMD game, specifically the secondary character Pokemon, do mention their pronouns and such.

For example, Espurr is regarded as she/her, etc.

The only big difference is for Pikachu's heartshape tail for female partner. Don't know if you can go female pikachu though.

  11. I think this is a pretty good PMD game to get into the series! The only thing I would really be wary about is that this PMD is a bit more difficult than the others so it might be a bit challenging to anyone who hasn't played a PMD game before but challenging yourself is fun and you can definitely do it!

I would say it's difficult early game but once you get passed that part, it's a breeze. So far, I'm in chapter 11 and it has not been any difficult passed chapter 7.

But it does depends on your starters though.

Thinking about picking this up soon; haven't played any Mystery Dungeon games thus far but after seeing gameplay of this one I am intrigued.

I personally haven't played one in years and it was not difficult to get into.
