  1. Oh, right. As for the tigers she needs 14 at least, and she only has 13 without speed boost.
  2. In part 3 for the GM's, as for Aran means in part 4. Edit: I'm not entirely sure if in 3-2 already, but it doesn't change anything for Aran.
  3. [spoiler=Chapter 10 part 4] I'm going to play the next two castles since the next part consists of six enemies: The dark bishops with hel who guard the boss. The boss has long range magic and Jormungand. Not special at all except for having two authority stats which gives the hel mages +10% hit. And a couple of bandits who are going to destroy the villages. You'll see lots of level ups like this. Elder: Long ago, the Twelve Crusaders waged holy war against the Loptyr Empire for 15 years. Nary a single corner of the land of Judgral escaped the war's clutches. It was Saint Heim who smote the dark god's avatar, Emperor Galle XVII, restoring light to this land at long last. And yet... the dark god us upon once more. Oh, great crusaders, protect us all! Obtains 1500 gold. Caipre still has paragon so he'll get lots of levels in this part. Using recover twice gives him already a level up. The target is to promote him as quickly as I can. cheesecake The two remianing hel bishops are going to move now. But Idc for them since I lowered their hitrate by killing the leader. Welcome to Hel! more work for Cairpre Man: 'Tis only been lately that we've had t'deal with these rites of sacrifice. Not so long ago, from what I hear, Emperor Arvis himself forblade 'em entirely. What the devil could've changed his mind? Please, I'm beggin' you! You've gotta save our children! Here, this magic ring oughta help you out. Obtains 1500 gold and a magic ring. I didn't remember about the magic ring. It's a coincidence that the exact right person visited this village. He's... not great. Seliph seizes Seliph: This is... It's like a ghost town... Lewyn: The handiwork of Morrigan's mages, I hear. Any who dared to resist met a grisly end... Seliph: How could they... How could anyone be so savage... Lewyn: And that's why we've got to fight this war to the end, Seliph. This is something you've got to understand. This is the way of the Loptyr Empire. They have no place at all for the good-hearted... Now, it shouldn't be too long before the gate through to Miletos opens for us. What's your next move, Seliph? Seliph: Needless to say, we must march on Miletos. We can't afford to rest while those children are still at risk... Or Julia, for that matter. Lewyn: Good. And after that, Grannvale awaits! Rados seized. Everyone is waiting on the gate to see what will happen next... Arvis and Ishtar Arvis: Listen, Ishtar. Release the captive children. I know you care no more for these foul deeds than I do. Ishtar: My apologies, sir, but I'm on Prince Julius's... Arvis: Pay Julius's orders no mind. I'll be having a word with him soon. Ishtar: But... Arvis: This is an order from your Emperor, Ishtar! Has Julius bent you such that you will no longer listen to the word of your liege? Ishtar: No... Never, Your Highness... Arvis is unable to control his son. Julius: Why not retire before it grows still feebler? Unless... Ohoho! Don't tell me you still seriously believe that you can banish me? Arvis: No... I know better than to try something futile again... I... I have no further objection. Julius: That's better. Now, then Begone! Return to your post and haunt my sight no more. Defending Chalphy is crucial. Don't fail me for once in your sorry life, Father. Arvis: Y-yes, Julius. At once... Mr. Superdouche appears Manfroy: Your dear little sister is in Chalphy, burdened once more by her old memories. Never have I seen such horror as when she recalled how you, her brother, almost killed her! Or how her dearly departed mother spirited her clear of the castle and your clutches... Julius: Indeed... Near everyone puts up some defiance to death by my hand, yet Deidre never so much as flinched in the end. She accepted her own demise, all to save Julia with that little strength she still had... Julia possesses the foul powers of that ghoul, Naga, just as Deirdre once did. Nothing is more crucial than killing her now, Manfroy, lest we lose the chance. Manfroy: You overrestimate her threat, milord. After all, the Book of Naga remains under the strictest lock and key in Belhalla. Without it, I cannot fathom how Naga's soul could ever come to dwell within that girl... Julius: How many times must I explain, Manfroy? Every last one of the avatars of Naga, the heirs of Heim, must be purged from existence! Manfroy: Understood, milord. I'll have my men see to it that Julia is dead by sundown. Julius: Don't fail me, Manfroy. Now, then I suppose I'm needed in the capital. Manfroy: I shall ensure that holding the Miletos territory is the Order's highest priority. Before the week is done, Your Majesty, the corpse of Seliph will lie before you. Julius: Seliph? ... Ah, of course. The one the peasants the call the "scion of light"... Feh, just as they call me the "scion of darkness". The alleged the eldest son of Deidre, and the alleged true heir to Grannvale... A fairy tale, told to inspire hope amongst fools! This is true... for now. Julius: I might not care about him, Manfroy, but you're welcome to do with him as you will. Manfroy: Very good, milord... Julius: Say... I have a better idea. I want to play a game. Rumor has it that a small army of fresh sacrifical meat is headed our way. Let's see who can claim the life of a rebel first. Ishtar: Yes, Lord Julius. I'd love to! Both appear along with lots of dark bishops. This happens if you place units next to the gate. The enemies appear as ambush and can already attack you in enemy phase. I have to fight lots of dark bishops and a few mercenaries, warriors and snipers... and of course Ishtar and Julius. The dark bishops have pretty much each type of dark magic: Jormungand, Hel and Fenrir (long range magic). But some of them also wield staves (sleep and fortify). The physical enemies carry all silver weapons. Ishtar has better stats than she had in chapter 9. Her two skills are very scary. However she can be taken by two hits. Julius looks at first sight less threatining than Ishtar since Loptyr only gives him a slightly boost in resistance. His three skills can't do all that much (except for charge) if you let him attack first. However he still has 40% hit / evasion he and Ishtar will benefit from. Note: You technically can't beat Julius in this part for story reasons. You have to focus only on Ishtar. Note II: Both have a leg ring equipped so be careful about their increased movement and attack range. disgusting Larcei uses Astra against the warrior and Johan can get a free kill against the hel bishop with his brave axe. Lester, however, lacks on one single point of strength to take out all the dark bishops with the brave bow. Leif blocks here. Elder: None of yeh come even close t'being strong enough to t'fight Prince Julius. Hate t'say it, but sometimes, yeh need t'make sacrifices if yeh wanna keep goin'... Obtains 5000 gold. The indirect advice to sacrifice your units... Of course I don't listen to this old fool! This is really nasty. Unfotunately Cairpre has the restore stave who's fallen behind with his poor movement. He's not able to reach the sleepy people in the next turn. Note: You'd screw yourself if you gave the restore stave to Nanna, because her resistance is slow that she could be put to sleep as well. And then you'd not have any access to restore at all. Actually same goes for Cairpre, but thankfully he's not in any enemy's stave range yet. This battle lasted like two minutes because Nanna activated Charge twice. And the third attack of hel finally hit her. THIS IS BAD!!! Leif, Faval and Nanna aren't available for the next turns. This kinda sucks... no more fenrir ... no comment perfect damage - Fin got hit so he needs healing badly. sibling-support-crit I guess the first no statter in Gen. 2? And this happnens to a unit... who's far away from capping anything. Without question the worst child in FE4!!! one sleep less thankfully Johan is put asleep. Lester visits the other village: Young woman: A terrifying man, that Prince Julius is... Just a single glance into those eyes of his and you're gone... You lose yourself. So many of my friends and others my age've all left for Belhalld to serve him. I've heared nothing from any of 'em since... Obtains 5000 gold. Arthur and Fee are asleep now too. Have to wake up five units right now. another sleep less He restores Johan and Fee in this turn. Killing off the three dark bishops rught here. Caipre recovers more and gets a good level up this time. He has a bad dad with Holyn. He doesn't need strength, but magic. Holyn x Sylvia is another pairing I can't recommend from this playthrough. The number of the enemies becomes smaller and smaller. I guess it's the first time that Patty kills someone for me aside of the arena. Please give me no strength! Anyways he can be promoted now. Sth. else aside of HP and luck. This Fenrir bishop has to killed before I can attract Julius with someone. Johan gets the first really useful level in this part. somewhat useful Larcei attracts Julius since she has Nihil. This hurts! 61% hitrate (including 40% hit for his five authority stars) is pretty pathetic. When Julius moves, Ishtar will do it too. You see now why you can't beat Julius. The attackpower of all your weapons is heavily nerfed. Holsety's attack would be >50. Now he has 30. Note: It's a side effect of Loptyr. It halves the attackpower of the opponent. Furthermore you see the problem with Julius's five authority stats. Even Balmung has a low hitrate against Ishtar. You have to do the exact same as against the fight against Arion: You have to place Nanna, Delmud and Seliph close to you to increase your hitrate. Since I totally forgot to move Seliph (still next to Castle Rados) I only can give Shanan accuracy boosts by Nanna and Delmud. Shanan makes short shift with her by using Adept. If you defeat her, Julius will retreat with her. one more level Fee also has no problem with the main boss and crits him... which makes me wondering. Note: If a weapon gets +50 kills, this weapon can crit. The end of the two remaining dark bishops. Before I seize: His promotion. He can use tomes now. I bought him to a tome to send him to the arena. He could get only one level... because he sucks! Time to seize: Lewyn: Looks like we're too late, Seliph. The kids are already gone. I'm guessing they're well on their way to Grannvale. Blast... Not again... Lewyn: I hate to admit it, but I doubt we could've gooten here soon enough either way. Now, then. It sounds like they're just finishing up repairs on the Miletos Strait bridge. Ready to move in on Chalphy? Seliph: Chalphy... My father's homeland... Lewyn: So it is. I'm betting the citizens there will be even happier to see you than usual. Let's not let them wait any longer! Seliph: Indeed! Everyone, move out. Onward to Chalphy!
  4. 6. Would you like to see another Project X Zone part? 7. Favorite pairing and solo unit from the Project X Zone series? 8. Most annoying bossfight in any videogame? 9. Most annoying dunegon in any RPG? 10. Could you imagine to forgive Edward sometime and use him in the next FE10 run?
  5. What was your least favorite subject / class in school? geography and maths
  6. Ilyana Growthrates (%) HP: 55 strength: 45 magic: 50 skill: 60 speed: 30 luck: 40 defense: 30 resistance: 50 skill: shade affinity: light Ilyana is really hard to rank for me because it mainly depends on which difficulty you play and if she has transfer boosts or not. If you play on easy / normal and she has transfer boosts in magic and speed she can destroy almost everyone in earlygame. However if you play on hard and she doesn’t have the boosts, she’ll become useful for like three chapters. She can oneround one enemy in 1-3 (steel axe fighter next to the door). After that she’ll become more or less pointless. Since thunder magic is inaccurate and became the weakest anima type, she’s only a marginal better chipper than Leonardo with support. You’ll see the inaccuracy of thunder on her hitrates. You’ll see hitrates >80% rarely. Since she’ll leave the DB and her growths aren’t good in total, there’s no point in investing in her. The DB members need the experience more than her. The consequence is that she’ll join the GM’s totally underleveled and will be outclassed by Soren. Ilyana is the only unit who’s able to use Rexbolt, but it doesn’t change anything for me. Rexbolt is good for one single chapter in the entire game: In E-3 against the dragons. Otherwise Rexbolt has the most aesthetic battle animation… but… oh well… If you play on lower difficulties Ilyana won’t have a problem to catch up the others, but in HM she’s not worth for me. Just a wasted slot in part 1 + 3 for me. In easy / normal with boosts I’d give her a 7-8… and in hard without boosts I’d give her a 3. All in all I give her a rather low score because I don’t find it necessary to use her except for the first three maps in the game… and as merchant to give stuff to the GM’s. 4.5 / 10 Aran HP: 50 strength: 75 magic: 10 skill: 75 speed: 35 luck: 35 defense: 70 resistance: 25 skill: - affinity: thunder Aran is basically an armor knight with increased movement which is great at first sight. He’s one of the few DB members who can take more than one hit by enemies with physical weapons. However if he doesn’t level up speed quickly (which isn’t one of his best growths), then even if his high defense won’t help him any further. He’ll be killed by two enemies as Edward would. Furthermore he has hit issues. He really cries for a forged lance to do some damage and have a good hitrate. Also he won’t get a personal weapon, which is a downer for me tbh… and the reason why I normally ignore him in hard mode. Aran needs to level as quicky as he can to benefit from his high strength and defense growth. Otherwise he’ll be killed by two hits in the upcoming chapters already. His affinity is pretty good because it gives him evasion and defense. Volug and Jill are really good options for him to increase these stats. Aran’s usefulness depends on his speed growth: If it grows fast, he can become a really good tank. If not, he’s ready for the bench. 5 / 10
  7. If someone has the favor and time to make another big list, then do it. Anyways I won't host this thread anymore.
  8. Not only the best non mounted physical unit of Gen. 1, but also even better than each mounted unit aside of Sigurd for me. Can do 5x damage with astra, has nihil, and has good stats otherwise. Her children will be blessed unless their dad is a magic user. My personal #3 of Gen. 1 behind Sigurd and Lewyn. 9 / 10
  9. I meant any death (boss, generic enemy, or even party member...).
  10. Will know that he skipped the questions of a few people in his interview.
  11. Ok, I hope it sounds better. Who's your favorite girl in videogames?
  12. Sothe Growthrates (%) HP: 30 Strength: 60 Magic: 45 Skill: 80 Speed: 45 Luck: 65 Defense: 20 Resistance: 30 Skill: guard Affinity: wind Sothe works pretty much as a "Jeigan" except he's not mounted and has actually really good bases for his level. He serves as wall and can prepare kills for the other DB members unless he can oneround anways. His growthrates aren’t bad in total either. However his best growths are the stats with the lowest caps. And another major issue is his very low HP and defense growth. In part 1 he’ll take two hits till the endgame and own the enemies… but in part 3 he’ll be easily taken down by one Tiger and any other Laguz. Beastkiller can oneround everything but you have to make sure to change to a weaker weapon before enemy phase (what normally shouldn’t be a problem). In part 3 he’ll fall behind statwise. Part 4 is very problematic for him. In 4-P you fight tons of cavaliers who can easily kill him in one single enemy phase. In most cases - unless you used pargaon on him - he won’t be high enough leveled till his auto-promotion. 4-4 has very unfriendly terrain. It’s the chapter where the fliers and maybe magic users will suck up all the experience so he’ll be totally underleveled in the endgame. Personally in hard mode I never had a Sothe who’s usable in endgame. Only used him for shoving and nothing else. Replaced him and Kurthnaga by Gareth and Nasir in E-4. All in all Sothe is fantastic in part 1, great player phase unit in 3-6 and 3-13 but outclassed at the end. 8 / 10 _______________________________ Laura Growthrates (%) HP: 45 Strength: 20 Magic: 70 Skill: 70 Speed: 70 Luck: 50 Defense: 20 Resistance: 35 Skills: - Affinity: wind Laura is the biggest victim of the DB for these reasons: she starts at level 1 with appropirate stats She’s a healer which means she’ll level extremly slowly. It’s an absolute shame because of her growthrates. If she got more experience as healer, she wouldn’t be the walking target till the end of the game. This is what she is unfortunately. And this applies to all difficulties. Even in easy mode she can be oneshotted and doubled in the early chapters at least. In part 1 you don’t need to bring her when you can’t. Even in 1-E her low movement will bring you only more trouble than use. But you have to keep her alive because you’ll need her healing abilities in part 3 so badly because the Laguz will hit you like trucks and only Micaiah for healing isn’t really enough. 6 / 10 You still can rate in your comment. I'll add all the belated ratings in my table. It's absolute no problem. fixed There are two differences between Meg and Nolan: Nolan joins earlier with rather high level and appropirate stats. Meg joins later with low(er) level and appropirate stats. While Nolan can maybe take two hits by the tigers, base Meg will be onerounded by a tiger with 12 speed. It's way easier to train Nolan than to train Meg. More plusses for Nolan are his affinity and his growths. In FE10 speed > strength, especailly for part 1. As for the GM's it doesn't matter since you have tons of great units who can wreck and tank.
  13. Discredits Edward for being bad in his first FE10 run.
  14. That doesn't change anything since the enemies have 27-30 attack power in hard mode. Aran will have about 30 HP at level 20. => Two enemies can kill him. Same as for Edward. That's why I recommended to establish a support with Leonardo who gives strength. Also it's a pretty awkward excuse to discredit an unit just because it turned out badly in the very first playthrough. Everyone deserves a second chance!
  15. Having Zihark doesn't automatically disqualify Edward. The DB needs all fire power it can have, and Edward definitely fulfills this requirement. He has a very hard start till 1-3, but at the latest in the chapter against the Laguz you can easily give him some levels to make him good. In 1-5 he can easily oneround all the mages from the ledge to get the exp. instead of Sothe. HM Edward is way better than HM Aran since he can double unlike getting doubled in the case of Aran, and Edward has the strength to kill an opponent without taking counterdamage with the brave sword. (for example the boss in 1-8)
  16. Battles saves are the best way for a newcomer how to learn playing in classic mode, so yes.
  17. You really never gave him a chance, did you? I played HM often enough that I can say that Edward isn't as bad as you and other people tried to point out. He can oneround enemies and earn free kills with the brave sword and strength support unlike Nolan or Aran. He has good offensive and is still fast enough to double most of the opponents in part 1. His only weakness is his early games but if you feed him with some levels, you'll be rewarded for that. Edward will be comparable to Zihark statwise when he reaches his level. Sure, Zihark is the better front unit in part 3 because of his affinity... but Edward has still his uses. As for forging an axe I meant Jill and not Nolan. He only needs a forged iron axe in part 1. Also beastfoe in combination with crossbow for Nolan and paragon for Jill is also my favored skill choiche. Jill needs the experience at first to become a monster.
