If a unit is terrible to begin with, then the boost will be more along the lines of "minimizing damage" as opposed to "turning battles".

IIRC, I think you need to bait him into attacking, dodge, and then wail on him. Repeat until dead.

IIRC, the shop sells a fire wand that basically does the same thing and burns people, to boot. As for the golems, all they break is my armor. Guess I'm weird like that.
