  1. would skl-based weight make a large difference? I consider 15 wt being on steel axes and hammers, and reaching 15 skl isn't too hard, all it would change is encouraging a sub-1000g investment into skl tonics for your axe user. earlygame fighters would become much less painful to deal with, but there are enough ways of dealing with them anyway, especially jagens.
  2. Ballistae were no hardcounter in DSFE because there were different ballista weapons (which is how it should return if it will), as opposed to fixed ballistae usable by both sides' bow users. also, fliers were somewhat counters vs ballistae on DSFE because Dracoknights and Falcoknights can outrange and ORKO with Silver or Devil weapons
  3. I'm 99% sure that it's a 4-turn. Seriously, you 4-turned about more than half of mid and lategame. (though I have no clue how midgame is defined on FE6) EDIT: it was a good decision to leave that 1% out!
  4. you've probably got a point about the wyvern whip thing (which is totally no master seal), but the conversation at the start of chapter 21 still very strongly implies it ("this is the wyverns' dale, the home to macedon's great wyverns."). Maybe she didn't personally get the wyvern from wilderness, but it likely is the same species.
  5. On FE12 chapter 21, the conversation at the start of the map suggests that the Wyverns found there are the same as the ones used by the Macedonian Dracoknights. A base conversation between Minerva and IIRC Catria says that Minerva had to tame a wyvern to ride on. I think that really proves that the Mount!Wyverns are the same as the Dragon!Wyverns and the lower speed cap comes from the knight and the armor that the Wyvern has on itself and the fact that Dracoknights can't like, use Fire Breath is probably because the Wyvern is proud of having a strong knight on itself, but isn't exactly convinced of the human wars, so it doesn't attack enemies, basically so it doesn't get attacked on itself for a thing that it essentially doesn't quite care about. It still is somewhat weird because the wyvern apparently helps the DK to tank hits, but realism in FE is a lost cause so yeah, I'll just deal with it and not concern myself about what wyverns actually are (and I'm 99% that they are dragons).
  6. Yeah, that flier fortblock strat is neat and the turn 4 spawn that would usually help the 2nd enemy wave bites their ass so hard. I used to dislike this map because that 2nd wave was so tough.
  7. the knight weighs too much which is why dracoknights cap speed at 23 and because the wyrm is lazy it doesnt attack,. if new mystery were awakening style, there would be a "can dual strike with the mount" skill
  8. because the weapon fire breath, especially on FE12, has too much weight combined with the rider to be used
  9. 32 mov / 21 spd / 60 hp / 27 str / 30 def only requires 30 statboosters but he's so distance that it's a must /edit: mov cap is 15 in that game? whoops. I recall reading 32 on the shadow dragon site and presumed it applies to the entire series. still, I pretend that douglas has 32 mov without boots and can break down a plain wall and go farther afterwards.
  10. Wyvern riders are weak vs wyrmslayer (and divine weapons). FE12!wyverns have the same breath as fire dragons and are weak vs wyrmslayer. The DSFE Version of Wyvern Lord (though no wyrmslayer weakness) has the name dracoknight, where the draco implies that the mount is a dragon TLDR: Wyverns are dragons
  11. Douglas did distance without boots DOUGLAS HYPE
  12. Shouldn't matter too much, demolish enemies on EP and eventually (i.e. once the reinforcements would come), have Anna sit on Lissa and uhm, rescue Gregor with forged Armorslayer and Fred on him to kill the boss in the same turn?
  13. Use buyable Rescue staves from the Chapter 12 map shop and integrate Olivia and Libra into your team (for an additional rescue user since Lissa is DF and Olivia because Dancer), it should help you getting forward much more quickly.
  14. I doubt that you can trivialize Lunatic+ with Galeforce either, you lose so much exp distribution if you just gf-chain 1-turn C13-20, because C21, and especially C23 and C24 will bite your ass. I'm pretty sure that the 1-turn possibilities are intentionally integrated by IS, with 23 and 24 afterwards to make it a controversial strat. (On LTC, it still is by far the best way though) Galeforce probably can still find much use outside of 1-turning, and instead in doing Rescue bombs with 4 kills for 2 rescues per turn.
  15. Well, then that's probably just me implying that from the conversation, lol. Though the way he says it does look somewhat weird tbh.
  16. well, Narshen doesn't literally say it, he implied it like, "I shall play with you instead of your brother... Ehehehehe" "Lock her up during the battle. After that, I shall come and 'play' with you." I'm not familiar with japanese, so I have no clue if it's a correct translation, but given his personality and this conversation a chapter earlier: Narshen: Lord Eric has a present for me. A young lady from Etruria, he says. Slater: From Etruria? She must be very beautiful then. Narshen: Yes, she is. Hehehe... I don't doubt it too much. Though the C4 conversation significantly varies between the translation patches, so it's not really clear.
  17. FE6: Narshen telling Clarine that he wants to penetrate her (chapter 4) German guys can make such a bad pun of that (specifically his name) lol...
  18. his hitrate with the hammer and the ability of doing distance will help much to kill zephiel and douglas-less 1-turn sucks
  19. you can technically do it for the sake of comparison, those things I mentioned as occasional are more of a prediction of what would come if weight @ con system would return. still, even with any of those predicted mechanics that'd influence con directly, all those ways to increase speed alone would make weight a rather slight difference after earlygame (or by say, C15 or something at least). also, by pairup bonuses I meant speed pairup bonuses.
  20. Heroes of Light and Shadow disposed of it the first @XeKr, I personally think that it IS a strategic mechanic, some players appreciate it for adding more realism to fe (which fits the flavor mechanic thing), which I consider false. I mean, a well-trained knight wouldn't fail to wield a steel lance well because they sit on a pegasus, while being fine with their armor. It definitely is supposed to affect gameplay, but I think it doesn't do so by a large enough margin to make the devs be bothered to keep integrating it.
  21. the existence of grinding can be trivialized by doing a no-grind run and ingame grinding can be trivialized by doing (semi-) efficiency runs and surprisingly, you get 2 arms scrolls, while Silvers in Awakening sit at C rank oh wait so you can reach them with those 2 arms scrolls, while 2 arms scrolls are enough for 3 units that want to get 9 total weapon rank buffs for silvers each. but really, nearly nobody uses a scroll just for silvers, so wpn ranks don't get trivialized by them right?
  22. ironically, FE9 is a game, so FE9 has the best animations in FE9 anyways. that C21 strat was awesome, and I'm totally not slow in saying that! though I'm slow because I 26-turned C21 on NM.
  23. because gameplay matters much more than fanboy crap @Axie, I'd say that weapon weight would be too easy to trivialize by body ring, rally speed, occasional rally con, rally spectrum, pairup bonuses, occasional con+2 skill, occasional con tonic, spd tonic, forging weight down and so on by now. It'd be much to superfluous to keep integrating it, it was relevant back then, but it wouldn't add much strategic value beyond crippling some enemies later than earlygame. I disagree with dondons comparison between weight and weapon ranks. needing to train to a high weapon rank to use silvers, regalia, braves etc is pretty different from having to forge the weight on some weapons down to use them well (it wouldnt even be a big deal given that I forge weapons to achieve easier ORKOes anyway). weapon ranks also prevent you from doing a Jagen unit + 2 Cavaliers Silver tradechain, weight does like, cripple some classes throughout and some early (str system) or cripple some classes to a limited extent (con system). I fully understand what weight is supposed to do, but it'd fail to actually do so and practically failed so throughout the entire series (okay, at least on what I've played already, and for games with weight, I have only played 6 and 11, so I'm not the best to argue on that).
