  1. Promote Rody, Luke, Caeda, Draug, Palla (and yeah, Catria to Falco after C11) right now, it will help you a ton. Level 15 or unpromoted capped stats are unimportant, you will cap your stats as a promote once you need it. Don't promote Merric yet unless Wyverns OHKO him for highest exp gain as his bases are low-ish at that point. I don't know which promoted units you've been using, but having Sirius keep up helps a lot, as he can solidly rotate between DK and SM, depending on what you need, he also makes a decent Sniper on some chapters (like C11!). He needs an Angel Robe to be solid longterm, but that's worth it (and can actually be like, way postponed).
  2. You mean on C2 right? My current strat for that one involves: Stahl softens LHS Fighter (6/37 dmg), MU with a Chrom DS on pairup (16 AS, 12*2+7/31 dmg) finishes off. Virion, ferried by Sully, chips Merc, FredxVaike finishes Merc. Fred tanks two Luna+ soldiers, very barely if he procs def in between, otherwise death (or Dual Guard, for which Fred picked a god and preyed successfully 3 times on failed attempts). Turn 3 and 4 are a mess, though I have (hopefully) figured out a strat to at least survive those. No plan how to actually defeat them yet. No strat for the boss area either atm, and the fact that Awakening doesn't have map saves doesn't help.
  3. My first game was FE11. I got killed by Ch7 reinforcements, threw everyone off, didn't know that villages exist and thought Lorenz can survive Camus easily because he's a general. I also only used Iron weapons on my generics. I also assumed that Ch6 is the last one because it's called Fire Emblem. This on normal mode. Thought the lowest option is bad? I was worse
  4. You must go all the way around to recruit Bord anyways, and every full recruitment playthrough does so. You can do C3 in 17 turns minimum with all units recruited. They have to be recruited on-map to be recruited at all.
  5. Finished C1 with rerigged growths. Prologue was a standard water trick strat and my Avatar had 7 Mag / 13 Spd after it. On C1, he could double Fighters, so I could soften the western Merc with Fred and kill with Avatar, while Avatar distracts the Fighter from Fred and 2RKOes on 2 enemy phases. He could stand on a forest tile and heal up on Turn 2 to pull an Archer and the weakened Fighter, and tank both if only one had Luna+ (he doubles the Archer with Sully on him). Otherwise, FredxChrom soloed all units that MU can't kill. The boss could also get feed to MU. My current stats are: Chrom 1.40 / base Fred 1.88 / base Sully 2.15 / base Virion 2.30 / base Lissa 3.75 / 18 HP / 2 Str / 5 Mag / 5 Skl / 6 Spd / 9 Lck / 4 Def / 5 Res MU 8.66 / 25 HP / 10 Str / 9 Mag / 9 Skl / 13 Spd / 8 Lck / 8 Def / 4 Res
  6. actually, I find it normal to tell one's friends to be careful with the consoles, and I wouldn't feel guilty about doing so. I'd actually feel more guilty about telling them to pay for the reparation, in case something breaks. and I personally am pretty careful about my consoles too, though I don't mind touching them after eating crisps, since I can make them clean easily.
  7. To make my Prologue strat and the reasons for failures more clear: Turn 1: Fred blicks the Myrm, gets targetted by three enemies. Thats actually why I pointed out the triple Luna+ thing, otherwise he survives solidly, though this occasion is pretty much standard anyways. Turn 2: Chrom and MU kill the softened fighters. If one fighter has V+, Chrom is fine because he attacks the non-V+ guy. If both have V+, Chrom must tank a hit (unless dodge), then he's gonna get killed by that Elwind!Mage, as I have Fred sit on MU for Veteran exp gain. MU lures the Elwind because he has Lck flaw and faces 2 Crt (at least that's what I think why it happens), and the kill can be done with EP Thunder + Chrom + PP3 Bronze Sword. Once I've healbotted up all my units: Fred pulls a Myrm and EP-blicks. MU slightly hits the Elthunder!Mage on EP, which only brings 10 exp. Fred kills the Mage on PP, Chrom pulls a Fighter, which dies to Chrom + Chrom + MU. Fred softens a Fighter, and kills a Myrmidon. Bosskill is Fred, MU, Chrom. (15 turns on my initial clear lol) I decided to rerig MU's levels, and haven't really finished yet. Would you suggest doing the water trick?
  8. well, I contemplated it a bit, but figured out that I'd be stuck with Bronze Lance as a Pegasus Knight mid-earlygame, which is probably not easy to train either, considering the high damage taken from all those axe users. and since I'm dumb, I tend to kill the option and go male mu because I'm male lol. I think Sumia will have a Peg level lead (and better weapon rank, but tome rank looks slightly iffy), and I can save P1-4 for exp. We'll see, though I guess I can somehow manage to get her to GF. C1 done btw, I was fortunate with the enemy skills, only Hammertime and a turn 1-killed merc had Luna+, with Hammertime having no hawkeye. So yeah, Bronze Sword!FredxChrom on a fort. the bosskill was Fred Bronze Sword + Virion + Chrom + MU killing blow. In retrospect, I should have tried to do this fort thing with Fred alone to give more exp to Chrom, but either of Chrom and Robin has to ferry Fred anyways. Stats: MU Lv 5.60 / 22 HP / 7 Str / 7 Mag / 9 Skl / 9 Spd / 2 Lck / 7 Def / 6 Res Lissa Lv 4.06 / 20 HP / 6 Mag / 6 Skl / 5 Spd / 10 Lck / 4 Def / 4 Res Fred Lv 2.40 / 29 HP / 14 Str / 13 Skl / 10 Spd / 6 Lck / 14 Def / 3 Res Chrom 1.66 base Virion 2.20 base Sully 2.0 base Fred should screw himself....not his stats! hohoho
  9. Just started a Loony+ (hopefully) no-grind run. MU is male with +Spd and -Lck. Prologue is done already, an annoying one on L+. Vantage!Mages = reset. Double Vantage lower Bandits = reset. Triple Luna+ lower melee group = reset. Bad MU levels = reset. That all happened. Managed to do it, but left a secondary save there since MU still only has 8 Spd and 7 Mag after all that rigging. Stats: MU Lv 4.05 / 21 HP / 7 Str / 7 Mag / 8 Skl / 8 Spd / 2 Lck / 7 Def / 5 Res Lissa Lv 3.21 / 19 HP / 6 Mag / 6 Skl / 5 Spd / 10 Lck / 4 Def / 4 Res Fred Lv 1.65 base Chrom Lv 1.50 base As for pairings, I'm definitely gonna do ChromxSumia for triple GF, it sounds useful af with those Counter and L+ guys. I also have to marry someone to Cordelia so I can reach Cynthia more easily. I suck at planning those things meh.
  10. if bow weakness that can be negated with delphi / iote shield is a weakness, then how is horseslayer not supposed to be a weakness? and I don't recall having bad str on my dracoknights (sirius, miledy and palla) either, so far only on the fe6 pegasus knights really.
  11. thats technically right, but actually, if you give all mounts -1 move, it would bring a negative imbalance, as your boots recipient (percy / miledy) has stellar movement and the other ones have just barely more than heroes and swordmasters, and aren't mounts supposed to have exceptional mov? it would actually kill a part of what a mounted unit is. also, 7 mov dragon lord!miledy would actually still be solid, considering enemy dragon lords would have lowered mov too. so yeah, -1 mov mounts wouldn't solve any problems.
  12. So, for example, Percival has 7 move as a Paladin instead of 8? I'd give him boots like I would anyways, problem solved. he'd be just as amazing and he wouldn't care in practice about the one less move. also, trying to make perfect balance in FE would likely make it boring in the end.
  13. write gg and reset j/k pull them, then lure them all the way around the map with an unequipped unit, which includes opening the 2nd door and chipping the boss away with thunder!mu. you can also try to have fred hold a choke vs the generics, then treck mu all the way round, but I think the awakening AI doesn't cooperate.
  14. Speed and strength easily due to the hyperoffensiveness of bows, and you should watch out for HP too because being able to tank things through walls better is pretty helpful.
  15. only wyverns of all dragons are weak to bows, but bows can hit other dragons pretty hard on enemy phase too (though I find Hand Axes or Javelins on bulky units better to dismantle grounded dragons) Another very useful thing about bows is that Horsemen hit the important benchmark of doubling 23-26 Spd enemies without counters while having great movement. also, you should play fe12 lunatic!
  16. not that good tbh he says that awakening is a combination of all fe games before, while it only plays on two reintroduced continents without there being much story relevance aside from the falchion (also different regalia lmao), weapon triangle was a much earlier introduced thing that stayed, not one that is special about a particular fire emblem edition in any way, and the thing that fe8 allows you to freely run around the world map probably didn't mean much to the decision to reintroduce it five games later, since otherwise it might have been there more often. he also didn't play the badass melee!axe!general animations while saying that gba fe has good animations (it does).
  17. you should promote, otherwise she is less likely to inherit galeforce to lucina by the end of c13
  18. the opportunity cost of thieves, unless they can contribute combattively, actually influenced my decision on deployment pretty often on an fe6 run, so I just bought tons of chest keys, which allowed me to distribute the experience better to my longterm units / to generally make the map more manageable due to having one more good combattant. though I have no big clue how grabbing those chests affects turns on fe6, I don't bother to play quickly when every 2nd boss is a dodge vs dodge battle.
  19. I usually don't use them often, so far I've only downloaded Zephiel and Percival from spotpass because they made some chapters less of a pain. I might be using more of them if I had the Supreme Emblem unlocked, but I'm 97k renown short of that lol.
  20. navarre can get kills vs some promoted enemies on chapter 8 with the devil sword and speed shard, so he can get a bigger speed lead over cain, just saying since you did chapter 8 already (and maybe, you used scorpio!devil!navarre, we'll see). also, you should save 3 bow forge uses to have horace snipe wyrms as a warrior! (unless general has 3 movement on desert too, but I think 2)
  21. nintendo wifi for nds is down, idk if there's something like an inofficial wifi shop, but wifi shop is disallowed on drafts anyways, so the rule was kept.
  22. Finally finished Lunatic. Earlygame was ok-ish (aside from C2 which is annoying) as I didn't do much for good TCs and rather pushed many kills into my +speed avatar. C11-17 were smashed hard by him, 18 is hard as fuck if you go the slow way, 19 and 20 are difficult because of those additional Generals and Dark Knights. Rescue chain 1-turning saves the day though. I had to get creative with those chains as I had no Galeforce, and ended up needing spotpass!percival to defeat 20, whose group was soloed by MU + staffbots (no comment about my exp distribution). C21 would have been insane if it wasn't for MU, actually I had planned to get Gregor to Axebreaker, but it didn't work out, so MU became a Sorc and spammed Nosferatu tomes for this and 3 further chapters. C25 ate a rescue chain and Grima goes sucking from 44 Skl Vengeance + Waste hitforge from MUxAversa. Is C26 on loony actually realistically possible without Galeforce (nosferatank alone doesn't help against grima)? since most strats apparently rely on killing a Berserker, weakening grima, rescuing the unit and then killing grima and the initial enemy spam hyperonslaught is hardly survivable from EP2 on.
  23. its either a chump or a chump with a convoy since the decision overwhelmed me, I voted merlinus on both
  24. you don't have to reclass, your units can basically solo normal mode with those stats, just give henry a decent speed support to double things with nosferatu too. ninja'd
