  1. Ike wasn't a lord, it wasn't the story of the princess. I don't want the story to always be the story of the guy in the castle who lived a great life, trained for war a bit, life turns to shit and we have to watch out hero go rich boy show that he was better and meant to be happy like before. That's not bad story telling when done once but they don't need to do that story after story after story. Yah Chrom is for sure an equal to Robin in the story, but apparently getting to be on the same footing as a person is the same as taking everything from them. I do think Lucina should have had been an option to kill Grima as well since I do think the story was about her as much as the other two but they all got their fair share of time. I think it was done way better then when we had Lyn, Eli, and Hector.
  2. I think we just need a "Hardcore" mode to remove grinding from the game, bring in a laser focus for fans who want to try and do that. It's really the best way to keep old fans and new fans happy. I imagine programming it can't be that hard given that it's just turning off stuff, it's literally just negating lines of code and testing that the game is beatable in that fashion.
  3. It will be in development so long that you'll be crazing a new Fire Emblem before it get's it's second trailer XD.
  4. Oh in that case I totally agree I simply misunderstood you. Feel Flat just felt a little hash. The previous support systems just failed to please me, after playing awakening going back to previous games I couldn't stand the 5 support limit. To me that is worse then what awakening did and awakening was a step for hopefully this game to take it and slam dunk support systems.
  5. That could be really cool, I'd love to have an Arabian fighter on my side.
  6. That's an interesting idea, I honestly never play above hard and rarely play hard in Fire Emblem. I play a lot of Rpgs and to do that I can't spend insane amount of time on one title. So for me that would suck because I don't really want to play that mode but I do want to see everything that the story as to offer. I do think the better way to make it harder is to give foes better weapons, place them strong and all that. I didn't personally grind much in awakening but I grinded a little.
  7. I think that would be a really nice touch. If we get some SMT type monster design in the game. I'm not going to cry if Risen are a thing again but I'm not going to be excited ether.
  8. I didn't feel that way about how the story played out but I totally understand how you could have taken the story this way. I think several characters, namely Lucina had a ton of agency in the game world. I would have liked for more characters to be relevant but no one ever said it was Chroms game. It's not called Fire Emblem: Chrom's special fun time, it's not like Chrom is a character we all cared about before awakening and they stole time from a fan favorite.
  9. I agree, while Bioware hasn't been tip top it means the world to me that they are still bringing in representation of any kind. It's not perfect but it's better then "You can't be gay." I don't want everyone to be gay I just want a few none hetro or binary characters. That's all I want, in a whole massive army of choices that people can chose to use or not I would like maybe 4 characters. Yah I loved the play it your way aspect of Fire Emblem awakening and it wasn't done as poorly as lets say for example again Pokemon OR/AS. Where the play it your way no matter what way you played unless it was horrible was going to be a very very easy game that lacked real choices to increase challenge. This game gives 3 hard difficulties, perma death, crit rates, and a whole bunch of things that have to keep players on their toes. Oh my god I totally love your idea, it's freaking brilliant. I would love to see things happen beyond getting married, I didn't like "I love you, now never speak to me again."
  10. Oh that would be really cool. I would love to see elements of that inside the game. The enemy of my enemy and all. That would have been pretty awesome, or leading into the final chapter if that was a part of the plot. An extra bonus chapter for unlocking all kids where you then had to kill all the parents and could only use children units. That would be intense and show a reflection of how horrible the world they live in was for them.
  11. I for sure don't want to see a good vs evil thing. War is pretty grey and I'd like the side I chose to feel like the right side for me not like the side I had to pick because the other people were dicks. I'd love for some kind of reward for doing all the bonus chapters or something to be able to unit to the two forces against what ever is creating the monsters if that is a third force. I love an ending where I can get everyone on my side despite the disagreements we might of had (Like Overclocked Devil Path.)
  12. I think an interesting way to do number one isn't necessarily to divide your own team up outside the story into other factions but be given tactical reasons to split up your team. So to invade a castle you got to do several things so you split your whole army into multiple teams. If they are going to keep in grinding I would love if it was because no person in your army really gets left behind in terms of use. I could have a unit do a mission to distract the guards, then have a set of units that is at the same time breaking down the front gate and another set sneaking in from the back. It would make splitting up units and picking teams super important. The downside I could see if really if you did that to someone doing an honest run where they don't soft reset when someone dies then they might not have enough active units to do it. Maybe they get command of generics at a high enough level to fill the roles, I mean were commanding armies not everyone in our army is shown but somehow are smaller units always have to fight the bigger ones. I really just want an excuse to use more of my people, I hate having so many characters that I just never use in a playthough because I'm limited to 20 characters.
  13. I love that real monsters are likely to make a return. We only saw one but Risen were not awakenings strong point. They were passible as a thing to grind but the previous games with monsters in the series all did it better. Side Note: I would love a monster Tamer class or something that could turn into monsters collecting something from them when killing them. I think that would be a cool new class to throw in.
  14. You kind of can do that depending on what your pokemon is. I'm very into competitive Pokemon and a lot of things are odd about the way Pokemon are designed. Regardless of that what I'm talking about is in terms of pure fun and how hard a game is. being able to make my knight into a mage doesn't make the game not fun. The games insanely fun and still was challenging to me. Maybe it's because I don't soft reset RNG, spend all my days in the forums looking at how to optimize characters but none of my circle of friends ever had an easy time with awakening. I know me and my brother Marathoned the game when it released and we were losing units and soft resetting a lot. Later when I got more people to buy it or play my copy everyone seemed to have a pretty great time. Obviously it's not has hard as FE7 or really any FE without real grinding as a possibility since grinding existed. However, coming as a fan of regular JRPGs and Disgaea I enjoy my self a good grind. FE7 was my first SRPG but I think so long as normal stays at the point where I need to make good choices (and for me it was at that point) I don't think the game is too easy.
  15. I don't know anyone outside of these forums who had a problem with how the supports worked in Fire Emblem outside of them not having enough. I got a lot of people to buy awakening and it seemed the overwelming issue people had with support is that females and males for the most part could only support the other sex. It really made it about shipping the whole game when after you get an S rank I think most people wanted to explore dynamics between other characters. I also the the generic father conversations were a bit dull (and Mother in Lucina's case) after the first run through, sort of broke the immersion. 3rd classes returning would be fantastic, I wouldn't mind not reclassing if we had three ranks of progression but I do like second seal for a whole lot of reasons. Stops horrible RNG, allows for really varied personalized characters, and I just think it was a fun thing to do after beating the game to get everyone to every job they could be.
  16. Why shouldn't multiple characters have the spotlight. Some of the greatest stories are pieces that string together several great characters that get equal focus. These are games that last many more hours then films and films manage to do it, I don't see a problem taking time away from a person. I don't think previous Fire Emblems with multiple lords were bad so why is Robin bad?
  17. @Kysafen Not sure if this was the right place to put all that but I don't know If I could disagree with you more on a lot of that stuff. I do agree we should have more varied mission goals.
  18. I think being able to create your own deck of cards is what created such big appeal from the masses though. Create the roles you want with the characters you like and move forward that way. I never felt like I felt in Pokemon OR/AS where I would win by clicking A.
  19. Maybe a pick a personality type thing could mitigate that or having a more interesting preset one.
  20. True but I read every tread in this sub forum and a few other treads and that's the picture I got. Obviously the general audiences aren't crunching numbers like a lot of the people here. I've been using Serenes forest proper for years just never joined the boards until I felt like I had stuff to say. BTW love your avatar.
  21. Atlus does a lot of development on Nintendo's handhelds just not on their consoles. I think the real issue was just Index went backrupt, they didn't know if they could keep people paid. Then Sega bought them and rearranged properties a bit so they had to get their shit together.
  22. We just need to get some people together and work on translating the cards and making a small program to play them online with other fans. That way we can enjoy the game and not have to import if we don't care about just having random packs that might be characters we could care less about.
  23. This is what I really want, I would love to be given several choices on how to handle most chapters. Obviously some need to be dealt with in one way but it would make me feel like I had more control over my army. Do I want to kill all my foes to make sure no one stands in my way? Do I have a choice but to do that? Could I escape into the woods and avoid loses? I would love to have lots of choices in gameplay and the ransom Idea is perfect. I think that would be a nice natural evolution for the series to have more real choices in game play.
  24. Yah but fans that are complaining about it are the majority of the people it appeals to. I like when a Fire Emblem games stands out and I like when a game series builds on it's new titles instead of tears it down. I don't want this Fire Emblem game to be like awakening unless it's like awakening and better. I just want this Fire Emblem game to be the best version of this Fire Emblem it can be while keeping the series improvements.
  25. I would love if they just cut gendered classes all together. I want a female barbarian and a male Pegasus Knight.
