  1. Well, yes the difficulties of paralogues do scale. Although they are probably expected to be played later in the game, and expect you to have more room to strategize. (Ophelia's is a nightmare on hard mode.) I suppose Conquest may be closer in difficulty to the paralogues of Birthright, but paralogues are just more difficult levels in general. I'll just say that Conquest requires a lot more strategy than Birthright. Seal system was likely changed to prevent you from being over-powered too easily. Awakening gave way too much room to grow. (Seal system is same for all of Fates.) If you thought Birthright's story was lazy, you will hate Revelation's story. It's a trainwreck. I don't think you'll find Conquest to be absolutely compelling either. Fire Emblem hasn't been very good for story since the SNES.
  2. It is sarcasm, but isn't that the point? It was rather silly reading people reply with "a video game character is not smarter than me", being a rather obvious statement and all. Silly thing to be worked up about. Ironically the reaction to the thread mimicked an Azama support quite well! Life is simply azamaing.
  3. I'm glad OP posted this topic. I love him as well! I rather admire his absurdism. I feel he's able to enjoy life a lot more. And he's not nearly as rude as every seems to imply. I also liked his supports with Hinoka. He's better written than nearly all the characters I have read supports for thus far. Not saying much though. ITT people feel threatened by a forum topic title and hop aboard the srs train to defend their intelligence. lol
  4. What exactly do you mean by Birthright's paralogues? The side chapters for the children characters? (All of them are available in Revelations.) I never found Awakening to be difficult, so I'm not sure how to compare. It was about as difficult as Birthright, which you already played. I'd say Revelations is only slightly more difficult than Birthright. Slightly harder, more innovative, maps. Still easy if you level up between chapters. Conquest is much harder than both. You have limited access to resources (gold is very hard to come by), you cannot gain levels outside of playing chapters and paralogues, and the maps are just plain harder (which may be mostly because of the previous two reasons). Basically, it's more like a traditional Fire Emblem, and you'll have a much better challenge. As far as story goes (no spoilers), people say Conquest's story is terrible but I disagree. Conquest isn't the same black-and-white rehashed "let's go beat the big-bad and feel good about ourselves" and I found it much more enjoyable than Birthright and Revelations. The Nohr siblings are more interesting and the characterization isn't so one-sided. But even if you are someone who won't like Conquest's story, there is almost a consensus on Revelation's story being garbage. It was meant to be played after both Conquest and Birthright, so it completely scraps characterization with no real intent to explore the Nohr and Hoshido family's feelings towards one another, and character motivations are very unnatural. And the "revelations" fall relatively flat at the end. I can't imagine how disappointed I'd be if I hadn't already played Conquest.
  5. I actually felt Conquest's story was the most interesting. It wasn't like Birthright, with the rehashed "go beat up bad guy" plot. I also like where I assume the story was going when Corrin acted like they were going to act more like Garon wanted (for show). I was a little disappointed with this, but I mentioned it because the thought gave me positive feelings. I liked how in Revelation, you need to work for your siblings trust. I do wish they had it more where your siblings needed to have their own revelations about the truth before trusting you. Birthright siblings could have trusted you more quickly, but I wanted to see more of a struggle for Leo and Xander. Possibly Camilla too, but I actually liked how she surrendered completely to Corrin. I really enjoyed Xander's struggles with being a Nohrian prince and wanting to do the right thing, and seeing more of this in Conquest. I played Birthright first, and Xander seemed black-and-white, but Conquest showed that he was much more complicated than he let on. In Birthright, I feel they missed the opportunity to truly show how Xander suffered with his destiny like they did with Leo. I know Xander had the whole "I am a prince of Nohr; I must stay with Nohr" thing, but I wanted to see how he struggled with it (he had to) and how he was made sure of his resolve. Also, I know a lot of people said that Revelations was predictable with Gunter's "betrayal" at the end (quotes because he was actually controlled", but I'm autistic. Since I'm autistic, I find it really hard to predict what will happen in stories, even with cliches. So, because of this, the only thing I caught about this was the foreshadowing right after Scarlet died (Gunter mentioning the flower). I'm good at detail, so I figured there was significance to this and in the final chapter I was like "bitch no I was right". Another positive thought: The parts I feel need expanded on give me really good fic ideas. :) (Okay I guess not everything I mentioned was something I liked, but I just had tangent thoughts so I went with them.)
  6. Can anyone really beat Jakob's gasp when he gets 0-1 stat gains on level up though?
  7. Jakob. Felicia never lasts me late game.
  8. I like children, but there needs to be a much better reason to have them then in Fates. Awakening and Holy War had good reasons. In Fates, it felt like a gimmick.
  9. Ah, I didn't know about keeping everyone alive. I suppose I did it on accident the first time. And thanks for the tonic suggestion. I never used them in any other file, but I suppose it'll be more important now. :)
  10. So normally I haven't had any difficulty in the hard mode chapters, but everything seems to go to shit in this chapter once Takumi gets rid of the port's water. Anyone have any suggestions for strategies, especially after that Dragon Vein is used? (Side question- am I not able to get another Lodestar/Master Lord seal from the Before Awakening DLC? I got one the very first time I played the DLC on a different file and I not gotten another since.) Thanks!
  11. I can't really relate to any characters under 21, so I prefer most of the cast to be there or older. And more women.
  12. Dang it. I hated the thought of 2nd gen pairings with MU too until you said that...
  13. Gaius and Aversa! :) And has no one read Cynthia's supports? She's the most obnoxious character in the game. >.>
  14. SullyxMiriel and SeveraxLucina I don't care if I can't care them in-game. XD
  15. At the end of the Smash Brethren DLC when you recruit Lyndis, she seems 100% sure that Avatar and Mark are the same person. Do you think IS is trying to imply that Avatar being Mark from FE7 is canon? It could also always be Morgan (since Mark is their name in the Japanese version), but then again Lyn will always refer to Mark as a different gender than Morgan since Morgan's gender is different from Avatar's. My theory is that Avatar got sent to Elibe in some timeline somehow and since they when no longer on the same continent as Ylisse, they were safe from Grima. Avatar had lost their memory by then and therefore forgot their name as well. Avatar had had Morgan (aka Mark) already and could only remember their child's name. (Awwwww.) So Avatar took that name as their own once they had awoken in Elibe, possibly without knowing that it was not their name.
  16. No. You get one chapter to use him before Panne joins. The most he could be is the same level. As for supports, again, ONE chapter.
  17. But EEEEEEEE !!1!1!oneone But seriously axes is the BEST weapon to have an E in. This makes him a competitor but hardly the priority for the second seal. Good luck getting Miriel to level 10 with her horrible offense and durability. Nosferatu isn't even buyable until chapter 13, WAY after the first three second seals. The one you get from Tharja is hardly a saving grace. Instead of babying her until then you can just second seal Panne and have a unit who can hold her own on the front lines. Because unlike most units (with obvious exception of Donnel) her stat changes upon using a second skill are equivalent or better to that of promotion gains when her stats were already pretty decent, especially after a couple levels. Her offense is great and fits the WR class perfectly. Lon'qu won't have as good bases or defense as Panne and they'll be dodging roughly the same amount. And what happened to crying about E axes?
  18. Have Morgan inherit Counter from Avatar. Manaketes will be hit due to low speed and counter allows you to use the little damage you receive at 1-range as chip damage to push some enemies to a 1RKO/1HKO.
  19. Not to mention his reclass options are even worse for him. >.>
  20. Misread the title. I thought it said pre-13. Either way, I still don't think there are farming methods until 16, OP.
  21. Those are inaccessible before you get Lucina. ETA: I haven't found a way yet.
  22. Panne has an interesting conversation with Sothe when they fight in the Champions of Yore 3 DLC. Panne: That flash of surprise in your eyes... You've seen my race before. Sothe: Why? Looking for a wildlife lesson, brigand? Panne: Careful what you call me, man-spawn. I might just overreact. So I guess that's more than enough confirmation that taguel are either decendents of the laguz or taguel is just a new word. (Also when did Sothe get so racist? Gosh.)
