  1. I really don't think that element is an indication of alignment. As FTP pointed out, you could have that Earth guy who could be mafia. Azula's friend, the one with the bending-blocking abilities, can't even bend, so she doesn't even really have to be Fire element despite being allied with the Fire Nation. Therefore, I don't really think Align + Element Cop would be redundant (I just don't think an Element Cop would be that useful, or it shouldn't be, anyways). ##Unvote, ##Vote: Elieson What's the point of that Eclipse vote?
  2. Well, if she's going to claim Fire, then whether or not she claims character hardly matters, does it? We just established that character isn't an indication of role strength, so there's no real point to withhold it. It's just that claiming it doesn't really mean anything either, because the mafia presumably have character fakes, so there's really no point in discussing it. That doesn't mean that claiming it is a scummy thing to do. You're grasping, Mancer.
  3. Best we get the flavourspec out of the way as soon as possible, no? Boron, is your element Fire or Fire Nation?
  4. Mancer, after people got on FTP's case for basing stuff off characters and flavour, why do you think it's a good idea to vote someone for their character/element claim?
  5. What Eclipse said, there are a lot of redirecting roles in mafia. IIRC, Scorri said that there weren't any Vanillas in this game either. In fact, probably more games on SF are role madness than not. But role madness doesn't mean that only important characters get strong roles. That's just sort of bad design, IMO. Also, I'll go ahead and throw in with Boron that my element and my role have no connection to each other (I think the flavour for it is kind of weak personally, but w/e). I just think that claiming element could potentially harm town. There could easily be an anti-town role that works off people's elements.
  6. I dislike those type of posts because they're basically fluff. If the "thing you know" is something you're going to reveal, then do so. If it's not something you feel comfortable with revealing, then why even make that post in the first place?
  7. ##Unvote, ##Vote: FTP Gonna sheep SB on this. Why would someone's character is a likely indication of the strength of their role? Like you yourself said, Zuko was an antagonist and then a protagonist, so it makes perfect sense, flavour-wise anyways, for him to be a Miller.
  8. It's generally best for Millers to claim ASAP so they don't get inspected. >_> Also, whoops, Scorri removed the ability to post role PMs (don't do that then Mancer)
  9. Mancer, paste your role PM please. Just want to make sure that's not a fake (though Scorri has offered to help with fakes, so I guess it doesn't mean much). If you've got more to your role, snip that part out.
  10. Prims hasn't posted yet this game. How is that being primsy?
  11. To a certain extent, I think that this is kind of like Djinns in GSM. I can't remember why exactly we didn't Djinn-claim right off the bat there (and I don't particularly want to reread that game) but it was probably along the lines of not wanting to give the mafia more info than is necessary, and I don't particularly see why it's necessary now, especially as I don't think that it's an indication of alignment.
  12. Element really isn't an indication of even alignment, because I could easily see both Zuko and Iroh as Team Avatar aligned despite being of the Fire element. That being said, I'm speculating that at least one role, probably more, has something to do with people's elements. This could be both helpful and harmful to the town, so I'm not entirely sure that everyone element-claiming right off the bat is the way to go.

    Mafia Headquarters V4

Clipsey, are you going to be running Shipping Mafia? I know you wanted it to be the only game running, but the large queue is so long that to be honest, I'm not sure anyone wants to postpone their game.
  14. It's sort of a dumb proof though, because it still depends on the definition of two.
  15. needs more AMITI IMO Eliwood's Rapier is the most useful because he literally cannot do shit without it in early HHM. At least Lyn has the potential of LHM levels to lower her reliance on Mani Katti. The other lords are all also fairly competent even without their PRF weapons; I don't think anybody else needs their PRF as much as Eliwood. Sigurd can wreck with like his Steel Sword, though admittedly not as much, and Celice doesn't really have a PRF weapon as much as just a boatload of shiny weapons with crit that Sigurd passed down. As for final weapon, gotta go with Celice's Tyrfing because the +20 res is actually pretty necessary for Dark Mages and the like that don't really have all that much trouble hitting your Holsety user. Ragnell is undoubtedly very good but FE10 has a lot of units that can wreck endgame, if not as completely as Ragnell. The Sieg weapons are complete overkill against everything other than the Demon King and Dracozombies, and the FE7 weapons are also only for one enemy.
  16. Good, because I'm not sure I did.
  17. Well hey if you were Manix it'd be 4/20 by now.

    happy birthday!

  19. Serious answer because I'm bored: you can't actually prove that x + x = 2x without using 1 + 1 = 2. x + x = 2x only because: x + x = x(1) + x(1) (unitary property) x + x = x(1 + 1) (distributive property) x + x = 2x There's no way to "prove" that 1 + 1 = 2; that's just how the number system was defined.
  20. But it's a night start with no talking so all you need to do is submit your action.
  21. I'm more surprised by Rein playing actually.
  22. Actually, I thought the entire finale was terrible. I had a huge rant about it somewhere right after it aired, but to sum it up:
  23. Yeah, scum Persuader not being able to work in MYLO/LYLO is kind of dumb especially because MYLO/LYLO is literally the only time Persuader is even useful. At any other point it doesn't really have an effect. scum Mayor can at least prove itself at another point and is a role that is more often town than mafia. Snike, your play was fine until around D3 where you just sort of disappeared.
  24. Didn't Marth declare in-thread that Snike being able to act at MYLO/LYLO was a mod mistake?
