  1. I've made Olivia pretty useful in a few Awakening runs, Mainly with the help of Swordmaster skills, though
  2. I find it weird that some people are okay with Byleth being an avatar and the main protagonist is okay if he's silent. They're still the protagonist, so any problems you had with Corrin being customizable aren't going to go away. I personally don't mind one way or the other
  3. To be fair, it's pretty difficult to find a character who doesn't love the lord of any Fire Emblem game. There's Shinon and.....Shinon
  4. I think the best comparison is Chrom. They are both attractive, friendly, and serve as your guide to the game and its world (as well as the series itself, for many people). And those factors combined make them very popular fictional crushes.
  5. I want to see more of the side cast (as well as some of the other teachers)
  6. I liked that moment in Shadows of Valencia when the villagers promoted to various classes, so I'm looking forward to seeing that concept made into an entire game. I'm excited to see the story and characters unfold I'm looking forward to seeing how the series progresses.
  7. To be fair, that's kind of on you. It's one thing to predict the plot, but that Azura theory of yours was more like you writing the story yourself and criticizing the final product for not matching. Of course you do have many valid criticisms of said final product, but Azura not being a mastermind or a villain is certainly not one of them.
  8. It was obviously false. I'm glad nothing about this game was leaked pre-E3 (and even the stuff post E3 was probably just a good guess and not a leak). Although I do wonder if that means Fire Emblem isn't a series that's big enough to even bother leaking.
  9. @Etheus I forgot to bring this up earlier, but I think Maids/Butlers are closers to clerics then thieves. They do promote from Troubadour after all. Plus, unlike Ninjas, they can't unlock chests.
  10. There's no argument for Corrin. They are the lord of Fates. It's too soon to tell with Byleth, though.
  11. This took a lot more effort to put together then it was probably worth. I haven't beaten any Jugdral games yet, so none of those characters were considered Lord Favorite: Alm Runner Up: Chrom Least Favorite: I don't want to answer, because any answer will upset people Avatar Favorite: Robin Runner Up: Corrin Least Favorite: Kiren Villager/Trainee/Noble Favorite: Gray Runner Up: Kliff (3rd Runner up to Donnel, who I still wanted to mention because of my attachment to the character from when I first invested in him in Awakening) Least Favorite: Atlus (because I forgot to recruit him, and haven't had to chance to play a 2nd to to make up for that mistake) Cavalier Favorite: Titania Runner Up: Corrad (Berkut if NPCs count) Least Favorite: Makoalov Knight Favorite: Kellam Runner Up: Benny Least Favorite: Bors Myrmidon/Samurai Favorite: Owain Runner Up: Marisa Least Favorite: Radd Mercenary Favorite: Inigo Runner Up: Saber Least Favorite: Ceaser Fighter/Oni Savage Favorite: Charlotte Runner Up: Basilio Least Favorite: Bord, Cord and Barst(when 2/3 of them died, I couldn't remember which 2 for the longest time. It was Bord and Cord) Pirate/Bandit Favorite: Gonzales Runner Up: Dart Least Favorite: Geese Soldier/Spear Fighter Favorite: Oboro Runner Up: Nephnee Least Favorite: Aran Archer Favorite: Takumi Runner Up: Noire Least Favorite: Shinon Nomad/Bow Knight Favorite: Rath Runner Up: Sue Least Favorite: Roberto Mage/Diviner Favorite: Katrina (Morgan if she counts) Runner Up: Orochi (Katrina if Morgan counts) Least Favorite: Arlen Dark Mage/Shaman Favorite: Henry (Lyon if NPC’s count) Runner Up: Nyx (Henry if NPC's count) Least Favorite: Raigh (Validar if NPCs count) Monk/Light Mage Favorite: Michiah Runner Up: Artur Least Favorite Yoder Priest/Cleric Favorite: Libra Runner Up: Sakura Least Favorite: Boah Troubadour Favorite: Elise Runner Up: L’archel Least Favorite: Clarine Thief Favorite: Anna Runner Up: Felicia for Maid, Kaze for Ninja Least Favorite: Colm Pegasus Knight Favorite: Elincia Runner Up: Catria Least Favorite: Syrene Wyvern Rider Favorite: Jill Runner Up: Minerva Least Favorite: Zeiss (Ashnard if NPCs are included) Manakete (I'm going to include dragons in general, for the sake of having Corrin and Kana, and the Dragon Laguz in the ranking. But then most of those didn't make the cut. Ah, well) Favorite: Tiki Runner Up: Myrrh Least Favorite: Gareth Beast/Laguz (Royal) Favorite: Nailah Runner Up: Cainagus Least Favorite: Skimir Beast/Laguz (Non-Royal) Favorite: Lethe Runner Up: Pane Least Favorite: Kyza Dancer (includes Bards, Singers, and Herons) Favorite: Olivia Runner Up: Tethys Least Favorite: Elffin
  12. I just beat Chapter 3 of Geneology of the Holy War. I enjoy it overall, but it really hasn't aged well. Plus, I do think it's probably just as deserving as being called "A Good Game, but not a Good Fire Emblem Game" as Awakening
  13. I've always like shows and movies and video games with both. My go to being Avatar: The Last Airbender.
  14. Mystery of the Emblem was the game that established many of the Fire Emblem troupes, and I think in the eyes of the Japanese fanbase, it's the series's Link to the Past/Ocarina of Time, Super Mario Bros 3/World or Pokemon Gold and Silver.
  15. I would be interesting to look for information in the Japanese version of Panne and Yarne's supports, since things do change in localization. I do wonder if a group of Laguez migrated to Archanea somewhere between Marth's era and Chrom's era (whether though sea or the multiverse), and over time evolved into Taguel.
  16. For Awakening, it's Inigo. Besides the bias of him being my son on my first playthough, I do love how he always tries to smile and help others smile when things seem bleak, and how by Fates he's learned not to take this mindset too far. As for Fates, I'll go with Dwyer. He's pretty funny
  17. Corrin's confrontations with the Nohr siblings in Birthright are pretty great. Although a character living in the evil empire switching sides and having to fight their family has been done before, it's pretty fascinating to see the protagonist do it. Chapter 26 is really emotional, and I like how the Corrin vs Xander fight brings the game full circle (if you played the tutorial)
  18. I'm torn between Helbindi and the Muspel sisters. I'll go with Lavatien, since she seems to get the least amount of love out of the three, and if she loses, I'll go with whichever one is left
  19. I'm found of the Future Past pack and the Scramble pack for how they help further flesh out the characters
  20. I always leave animations on, even though I often skip them if the game will let me, especially if I'm impatient
  21. My favorite cast of characters is Awakening. I loved meeting everyone playing the game for the first time. Sure games like Path of Radiance may have some more three dimensional characters, but they also have some zero dimensional characters too. To me, everyone in the Awakening cast is memorable, and so far it's the only game I can say that about. My least favorite cast so far is Shadow Dragon. It has mostly zero dimensional characters with a handful of memorable ones
  22. Formulaic but pretty solid, much like Legend of Zelda and, as of Platinum, Pokemon
