  1. Mist actually starts with Sword in RD, so that's even better for her should they do a PoR focus. The bigger problem is the horse for a RD focus, but that's something they'll face with the SS Lords and I'm sure they'll just leave them on-foot with promoted outfits. About the game's swords: look at who is leading each moveset. The only sword moveset not rooted in a Lord would be Olivia's, and she's only the 9th Awakening pick and they really didn't have a better option for that slot, as the only few interesting movesets conflict with a future shoe-in (gaius -> Sothe, for example). There's a lot of people vying for those Tellius slots that I don't think Mist even has a shot. Especially since a RD Focus is much more likely for FEW2 since that' Ike's current identity, so seh has competition with: Ike, Micaiah, Sothe, Soren, Elincia, Black Knight, A beast Laguz, Tibarn, Nephenee, Mia, Titania... all characters with more plot importance, uniqueness or popularity, if not all three.
  2. The big thing here is that people aren't looking at the full picture. First? Sales. People need to STOP. You can't get ANYTHING worthwhile out of Sales without knowing Cost to determine Profit. and Profit is what truly matters. I'm sure some people might remember that Tomb Raider game that sold super well but, square I believe, was not happy at all with the sales. And that's because of Cost. And form past KT successes, it's pretty easy to see their games are low-cost. They've been happy with games that sold quite a bit less--and FEW probably had money from nintendo poured into it. Second: All of the thigns surrounding FEW were successes. Hyrule Warriors, the Switch, 3DS, Fates, Awakening, Heroes, Shadow Dragon (remember: Cost. Ds games are cheap to make). It was a recipe for success. And even if it was NOT, having Ike and Roy carrying your marketing campaign together with the fancy new Fire Emblem is definitively going to draw attention.
  3. As someone that started with Fe7... well. i still think people should be happy and look at the positive side: next game is going to give them much more than a "complete" FEW1 could ever dream to.
  4. You mean westerns fans that started with GBA/Tellius and didn't like the 3Ds games. Can't empathize. I liked them all.
  5. Wow, boob argument?I guess I skipped something. Regardless, i see this a real reason for them going with Linde over a Paladin. Gotta have something that appeal to the Fates/Awakening audience if they don't give a damn about SD, I guess.
  6. His role in the story is actually a thing unlike Anna's, who could be deleted from the game without anyone even noticing she was there. It's obvious, but if i remember correctly you are that one guy that refuses to see it despite it being in big red letters so i'll drop it. I mean, if knowing about datamined supports and how Oboro's gimmick that her NPC self never uses is spoiled by her profile entry, nothing will convince you short of an official statement. By the time we were seeing stuff about the game i'm sure they had already settled on Anna. But while she has a lot of games she appears in, her roles are so micro, but so micro, that they don't justify her being playable at all. A Navi role would be a perfect representaiton of Anna.
  7. Oh, i don't believe for a second they were a response for the backlash that happened. They knew some parts of the fanbase would riot, i'm sure. The backlash was predicted. With Niles being 100% intentional for the base game i doubt Anna was ever planned as more than a Navi until either IS forced her or they realized they wouldn't get Oboro's moveset done in time which forced then to cut niles to maintain roster balance between Fates's two games. Anna doesn't really accomplish anything as a playable character and her primary role was support-only. Heck, i admit i haven't unlocked her yet so this could change, but look at the voice selection menu. Anna's voice is simply listed as "Default". Not even a NAME.
  8. Not me. I like every american FE and i'm super happy with the roster. Having just 3 focus games was the best move they could've done, only botched by the fanbase that refused to see this was for the best and led to Lyn and Celica and Anna being wasted slots. Tellius is a 2-in1 deal. Like Fates. It's bound to get a fair bit of love in FEW2, much more than it would ever get in, Besides, Ike's just a swordsman, pretty sure people were complaining about too many swords.
  9. Chances of next game nto focusing on one part of Elibe, one part part of Tellius (at the very least) and FeSwitch are almost zero. SoV is not a focus game material.
  10. Best SoV can hope for right now is either a Season 2 DLC pack for FEW1, or simply Alm as "the new Celica". On top of Celica herself getting a new moveset.
  11. Ooh, nice stuff! I'll use this in the future!
  12. The problem is that all the heavy hitters are already in FEw1. If you are thinking of heroes, note that characters they keep pushing. it's almost always a royal. There is no one worthwhile to add from that part of the series anymore with a single exception: a butler or maid, provided FESwitch doesn't have another answer to the staff+dagger combo. The remaining people from fates/awakening that actually stand a chance at being added if they went back all are lesser versions of people already in few1 (Henry vs Tharja) or that are shoe-ins for few2 (Severa/Laslow vs Ike, Gaius vs Sothe/Jaffar).
  13. Of course we'll get both Elibe and Tellius as main games. FEw2 will likely share a dev cycle with FEswitch to an extent and nobody can be sure if that game will be good or if it's cast will be popular. Fates/Awakening have nothing menaingful for them to waste their times making a moveset for, they need somethign with weight to push the game out to people. From there it's just a matter of elimination. They already worked with FE1/SD F3/NM is japan-only FE4,5 and 6 are japan-only but Roy is a thing FE7 is the American FE1 FE8 is small FE9-10 has the series's biggers tcharacter, who also is in smash Awakening-Fates are already dry wells. SoV offers too little. Overall seems to be the less popular title between it and FE7. Then again, if i'm wrong i don't care much.I liked FEW1 and i'm sure FEW2 will deliver as well, as long as they don't cut Sakura.
  14. I don't think we'll get more Fates/awakening. The only worthwhile characters we missed are Jakob and Gaius. Gaius is kinda irrelevant when we will likely have both Soren and Jaffar. Jakob could get in, i guess, but not if we have a FESwitch character able to do dagger+staves. My focus game predictions: FE7, RD, FESwitch. I assume cast size will double because that's how other warrior sequels worked, so at least 15 movesets for base, 21 after DLC. I'll work with 21 here. Fe7 appeals to what was "American SD". FE6 will not be a focus game because it's japan-only, even with Heroes. However, Roy will be playable as a standalone FE6 rep much like Lyn/Celica in FEW1. RD will represent Tellius. It won't be PoR simply because Ike's current identity is from his Radiant Dawn self, thanks to Smash 4 and the Amiibo. Also, Tellius's Daein vs Crimea conflict is much better done in RD and FEW2 can use it much like it did for the Fates plotline. FEswitch is the new game, plain and simple. SoV won't be a focus game because most of its cast is generic, competes with stronger picks from the above games either from an uniqueness, importance or popularity standpoints, and a lot run into identity issues (as in, their interesting aspects are from promoted classes but their identity is their base class, and there's too big of a jump in aesthetics to merge the two. This is for the Mercenary, Soldier and Archer lines). If the game doesn't have a Season 2 DLC for FEW1, we will just get Alm in the sequel. Well, my opinion anyway
  15. Takumi uses Wind even without the Fujin Yumi Takumi is Sakura's brother. That's enough of a connection to justify the cloning. Had you argued Anna, Niles or Hinoka, you'd have a point.
  16. So it isn't a copy-paste from Fates. Just for flavor.
  17. ...Because for some that's a better trade.
  18. There's a good reason. At least to some. It's called "freeing up resources for Celica, Lyn and Anna".
  19. One if not both of Ganondorf's last combo (the ganon shadow's swipe) and first combo (his meter explosion) used to allow enemies to hit him out of it. Now they can't, so his most ridiculous crowd clearers are now super safe. It also means The Imprisoned is now an absolute joke to him.
  20. If you are on a level where you can make use of armor break, it will save you time. Not that time is actually something you'd worry about on any mission that doesn't involve Velezark (which is perhaps the best target for Armor Break in the entire game, though you probably should swap to someone else to actually fight him)
  21. Oh my, are you saying FEW is an easy game and optimization is completely unnecessary, exactly like what happens in every single one of the FE games? Are you perhaps implying that I do NOT need something added post-release to complete the base game? The horror. Chill out man. I went through Sacred Stones without giving Seth a single combat round, it doesn't change how good he is. I also don't appreciate the implication that just because I think the skill is good I somehow don't do all that stuff you just listed before the etcs. I don't know if you intended it that way, but it basically comes across as you saying "if you use armor strike, you don't know how to play the game, you don't know how to think, you don't know how to use weapons, you can't do anything correctly" In some maps you may even be right, depending on how much slayer skills can get used. And how much you grinded for supports. Almost 100'd the game and I just have four or so A supports, but you don't see me saying "And if I actually just think it out, where to position (well, order) my units, what they do well against, how well I can neutralize the enemies with the right weapon, how fast I can kill peeps if I'm controlling them, how fast they kill when I'm not controlling them, how fast I'm able to take all keeps etc. etc. etc. then I reach a point where Astra/Luna/etc.. is just basically doing fuck all yada yada" Rude.
  22. I was just saying that's a thing, not recommending it. If you dash forward you should be safe from most switch-sneakstrikes, only a particularly bad luck against an archer, mage and manakete can still catch you if you're dashing ASAP.
  23. Corrin is the only one that is constantly speaking full phrases, from my experience. Basically. I literally just got Astra on Corrin. Wow, the moveset now feels on par with at least Chromcina (without Astra)
  24. Corrin's big problem is how long his moves take to come out compared to everyone else's, and I don't see them fixing that. Especially when, by the end of the day, they still would have no niche. There's a better duelist (Ryoma), a better crowd-killer (Lyn), a more mobile character (Marth/Celica), a better healer (Twins) AND a more balanced moveset (Chromcina) among the on-foot swords.
  25. Wut? It's much easier to armorbreak with Archers. Robin needs to get up-close to effectively build his meter, Leo/Elise need to at least come close to even start worrying about armor breaking. Archers can do it from a keep's entrance or something. Enemies have missions too--they won't pursue you if you flee. Then you come back and WHAM! 5 armors broken in a single shot. It's worth noting Armored Blow completely neutralizes the cons of Armor Break. Awakening does as a well.
