I'm wondering if strike rate+ will stack with astra. Some characters are already ridiculously fast with just the latter.

Strike Rate+ does not stack on top of Astra. It is only slightly faster than Astra, so it really isn't worth a weapon slot.

Google Translate and other machine translators aren't good at picking up terminology, especially made up ones used by Warriors : P

    攻撃系特殊系の武器特性によるダメージが更に増加する
    (弱攻撃強化三すくみ強化などの武器特性が対象です)

攻撃系 and 特殊系 refer to Attack and Boost weapon attributes.

The examples listed, 弱攻撃強化 and 三すくみ強化, are Rainstorm (lit. Weak Attack+) and Triangle+ respectively.

Ah, thanks for the confirmation! Definitely might be worth a slot if the boost is huge, such as making Pair Up+ a 50% boost instead of 25% boost.

It's fine. Having multiple translations is always useful.

I think the new weapon attribute applies to Attack and Boost type attributes. I'm not super familiar with the Japanese terminology, but that's what I interpreted.

Google Translate (not the best, I know) says this:

Damage due to weapon characteristics of "strengthening activity" attack system and special type further increases
(Weapon characteristics such as weak attack reinforcement and strengthening strengthening are covered)

Looks like they are reiterating that only Rainstorm and Strong attributes are affected?

  3. Someone over at GameFAQs translated info from the official website's update:

    Personal weapons
    Robin: Thoron
    Liz: Liz's Healing Axe
    Frederick: Frederick's Guardian Axe
    Tiamo: Tiamo's Love Spear
    Owain: Mystletainn
    Tharja: Tharja's Curse
    Olivia: Olivia's Dancing Sword

    New weapon properties
Enchancing activity - Increases damage of other damage skills (eg: Rainstorm)
Strike Rate+ - Property that was on Chrom's Training sword
All stats+ - Property that was on Tiki's Tear

    1.5 additions
    Level cap to 150

    Weapon property
Vessel of the Deities - Increases attack to hero levels, doesn't take penalties from slayer attributes

    Blessings
Speed - All members get increased speed
Luck - All members get increased luck
Healing - All members get a HoT
    Caravan - Materials dropped increase
Master - Weapon number, level, quality, and slots increase on drops
General item - Standard items drop more often

Infernal - All enemies become level 150
Tactician - Your controllable character does 0 damage. In turn, NPCs do more damage and you will be in a mode where you can only defeat enemies by ordering them.

Level Reset - Level goes back to 1, You will gain materials according to the level the character was

    Others
Implemented movie recording feature of Nintendo Switch
Implemented option to keep the previous blessing when starting a new map, materials will be automatically chosen. Can be turned off
    UI changes
    Various bugfixes

Edit: Whoops, didn't see Vincent's post.

Anywho, Strike Rate+ becoming an attribute is interesting. Supposedly it's a smidge faster than Astra, so Astra might not be needed anymore. However, it costs a weapon attribute slot. Need to double check how much Tiki's Tear added to every stat. With all of these additions, it really looks like a "final" update. Was kind of hoping for the villains being playable down the road.

I think they are waiting for a global release. So maybe when Nintendo eShop in the west updates, the update will be released altogether.

Doesn't make sense when in prior DLC releases, they were global releases at 9am JST. This meant the US would get it the night before.

Anyway, I will probably close this topic in a bit, since we probably won't be finding out what that mysterious download was.

Hopefully it's just a preload of sorts.

We'll probably find out in six and a half hours assuming the date on Famitsu isn't wrong and there's a worldwide release!

There really wasn't that I found, abusing Young Link's Fierce Deity Link Awakening and the EXP Up while staying Fierce Diety (think Tiki's Dragon Form and how she functions, it's essentially the same) on that particular map is the easiest way to level up and then using the rupee glitch to get everyone else up there. Just ask anyone who played Hyrule Warriors and they'll tell you leveling was a chore in Hyrule Warriors and much easier in Fire Emblem Warriors.

Yes, but then you mention abusing a glitch to max rupees to easily level everyone else up to the same level. You can't use the same glitch in Fire Emblem Warriors, so near the end, it's faster to actually grind out the levels than to grind for gold.

Can confirm. I never got the DLC but I kept up with the discussion about it and even at the end of the DLC the best way to grind was to abuse the rupee glitch which would maybe get you a couple levels.

So 9,999,999 rupees only leveled up a character less than 10 levels? Then yeah, Hyrule Warriors definitely seems ridiculous in terms of leveling.

  7. I guess it's faster in Fire Emblem Warriors due to Pair Up splitting the EXP between both units.

That's why I'm curious if they plan to go to higher levels later on through a Season 2 because you level faster in Fire Emblem Warriors then Hyrule Warriors.

I hope not. I can't see them adding much else to this game because completing three new history maps seems pretty stale at this point, and leveling to 130 is way too grindy, so going to 200 and above would be worse. Would rather see a sequel instead.

On 3/17/2018 at 8:30 AM, Deva Ashera said:

In Hyrule Warriors, the only easy way to level grind was to get Young Link, use Fierce Deity, and stay in that for forever on a particular map fighting Shadow Fis that split after a certain amount of damage, each keeping that amount of HP but offering the same experience as one another and then using the Max Rupee Glitch to pay to level everyone else. It was hard just to get everyone to base level 99 and yet the DLC maps practically demanded you keep everyone up near the level caps.

Are you sure that there wasn't a higher level map out there where you could gain a lot of levels, get a Game Over, retry (keeping the gained levels), and repeat? Maybe the amount of levels needed to grind made it seem longer in Hyrule Warriors than in Fire Emblem Warriors.

  8. 6 hours ago, Deva Ashera said:

I don't think they ever outright said that was the reason for the max level being 255, that's just the assumption due to how 8bit systems had a max number value of 256 (including 0 as a number means 255).

Doesn't change the fact in every level cap update in Hyrule Warriors was by 50 levels, whereas the level cap update in Fire Emblem Warriors is 20. Pretty obvious that KT has no plans to go to that high of an amount.

6 hours ago, Deva Ashera said:

It's actually easier and faster to level up in Fire Emblem Warriors then it was in Hyrule Warriors.

Have you tried to grind from level 106 to 130? It takes quite a while. Granted, levels 130 to 150 are probably going to need to same amount of experience, and maybe, there will be a better level to grind on in the Awakening DLC pack. Granted, I have never played Hyrule Warriors, so I'm guessing going from level 235 to 255 took longer?

I agree with the whole adding more awakening and fates characters thing but I don't see them adding anymore shadow dragon characters. The reason being that a lot of shadow dragon besides the ones already in the game are well a tad on dull side at least to me anyway. I do however see them adding a couple elibe or sacred stones characters thanks to their recent popularity in the most recent CYL.

That's what I meant by their decision on Roy and Ike spreading to characters from other games that are not in Warriors already. They would likely lump as much as they can in the sequel.

As Arthur said, the second CYL isn't really much to go by since that was more influenced by people wanting certain characters in Heroes.

  10. 20 minutes ago, Deva Ashera said:

By the by, I'm betting on a Season 2 due to the level cap of Fire Emblem Warriors not being raised as highly as Hyrule Warriors.

With how leveling is in this game, that sounds ridiculous (130 to 255). From what I heard, in Hyrule Warriors, 255 was chosen because that is a significant number to Zelda back in the day (max amount of rupees in the original game). They'll likely leave the max level at an even 150 in Fire Emblem Warriors.

Also, the devs have constantly stated that characters like Ike and Roy would not be added in as DLC, but in a possible sequel. There's no reason to assume that this wouldn't be the same for other, similar characters. So, if there was a Wave 2 for DLC, they would likely pick more Awakening, Fates, and Shadow Dragon characters, and I highly doubt that would push sales of the base game.

The difference here is the way FEW season pass is handled. We already know the most important part of the content (the new heroes) taking away any surprise a dlc reveal on the direct might have had.

Not really. Revealing everything outlined in the Season Pass was a goof by the Australian eShop, right? They never officially announced them IIRC.

  12. Actually, I remember the Phantom Hourglass/Spirit Tracks DLC for HW Legends getting highlighted in the September 2016 Nintendo Direct. It was mentioned, then was released shortly after the Direct. I think that's why people were hoping for the Awakening DLC to be released shortly after the recent Direct.

Though, this port isn't all that interesting. If you got Legends, the only new things added are two skins. Not amazing right there.

I'd say having everything Legends had and not playing on a 3DS is a pretty big deal. Playing Hyrule Warriors or Fire Emblem Warriors on the 3DS compared to Wii U/Switch was a pretty jarring experience.

Okay now I’m just curious. I mean first the lack of FE switch news and now this. I’m starting to wonder if they’re waiting for a fire emblem direct or something to announce all this stuff.  I mean why else would they be so secretive unless they’re waiting for a way to announce something huge and dump it all on us at once. Idk maybe I’m looking too deep into it but This lack of info is driving me nuts.

Eh, news on the DLC can drop at least a week before release. If there is no info on it in next week's Famitsu, even though it seems to be slated for a release on the 29th, that is when things will be interesting.
