Ok well, can you please give me a good way to make Tharja good? Her luck is just TERRIBLE. and I can't seem to figure out a way to make her quickly kill things because she will almost NEVER activate lethality, unlike Linde who can easily activate it and has much higher magic. The only downside I see to Linde is that she's a bit frail and her attacks are rather front focused along with the fact it takes two times of enemies showing their white bar to break it. It's just compared to Lindes quick lethality killing, I just can't figure out a way to make Tharja good :(

For most, if not, all characters, I have moved on to a Luna/Astra/Lethality/Galeforce/Vengeance/filler (Luck +20 is paired up, Long Wolf if not). Tables and ShadowMario3 seem to have done some testing and agreed that Vengeance at 1 HP is a 300-400% boost, which basically makes it "always Lethality" for normal and strong attacks. With Prayer Crest III, you should be able to take three hits at 1 HP before dying. However, in Awakening Mode, you can never go below 1 HP, so this synergizes very well with Galeforce as long as you have a lot of captains in the area to maintain your Awakening. In this case, will be good to have both Prayer Crest III and Serenity Crest III (Fills the Awakening gauge much faster) on your unit.

I believe you can simply get more use out of Linde due to her staff usage

This costs you a healing item (unless you slap on Live to Serve, which costs you a skill slot). You're better off having another unit as your staff user.

much higher luck and she still maintains just as good magic as Robin/Tharja and my previous thought of her moveset being a bit wonky was immediately changed when I slapped Astra on her.

Even with Astra, her moveset just isn't as versatile as Robin's/Tharja's. They have a complete 180 pivot during their combos, and their fully charged C1 gives them superarmor (or whatever it's called). Linde's fully charged C1 is slower, and she is vulnerable from an attack from behind, and with her terrible Defense, that is not a good thing.

In the end, Linde is better for Arenas due to her high Luck stat, Robin/Tharja (Robin is slightly better overall) for everything else.

Also use the new Convoy blessing or whatever that gives you double the materials. That combined with Chapter 20 can get 4 materials each for 3 different characters.

Yep. Since you use 150 bronze mats for it, you get around half (70-80) bronze mats back in return on Chapter 20. Convoy Blessing has made Chapter 20 the go to spot for (most) characters' silver and gold materials.

Her lower skill & luck will likely leave her on the lower end, but her unique attack and seemingly faster attack speed might be good for some alternative builds.

I remember when people said the same thing for Lucina in comparison to Chrom. I think it's safe to say Robin and Tharja have the same attack speeds.

So with that in mind... honestly, they're pretty close. Tharja has much better defence, but Robin has a little bit more Luck. Robin hits harder, but Tharja has longer Awakening and is more durable.

Put Statflip on Robin (which people should be doing anyway for higher Mag and Def), and that durability increase doesn't matter for Tharja. Of course, that means one less attribute slot for Robin to use.

That’s Japan and before localization though. Doesn’t really hold much weight here considering what things can change across localization, for better or worst. In this case for better.

I'm pretty sure people hate it when localization changes anything, especially after the whole fiasco with Fates. NoE changing the name of the "Lovebirds" cutscene (was called this in Japanese and North American releases) to something else was completely random. Also, it would be better to see how the original writers wrote her as.

I actually completely ignore the father supports for anyone but Chrom/Lucina for obvious reasons. They are all the exact same and some don't fit the characters at all.

In Noire's father supports they also contradict with the Noire/Tharja supports where Tharja doesn't abuse Noire and finds it distasteful that her future self did.

Basically I'm saying the father supports in Awakening are essentially garbage.

Don't know why you are willingly ignoring them...nonetheless, in the Japanese Noire/Tharja C Support, Noire says this: "I wish you’d stop putting weird curses on me…"

    http://fe-according-to-japan.tumblr.com/post/61827114760/more-than-you-really-needed-to-know-about-tharja

Which goes to show that present Tharja was still placing hexes on her before relenting to Noire's wishes.

I prefer the more optimistic view that "our" Tharja learned from her future mistakes and won't repeat the same abusive tendencies at the end of Noire's supports. Noire also sticks around the family if you don't marry her off, which might help.

Not that Tharja doesn't still have problems, mind. But, uh, I don't ever see them bringing that aspect up in the same way none of the fates parents get taken to task for.

Eh, I think she still does it in the father/Noire supports. Of course, timing of supports will always be unknown. Just rubs me the wrong way that the game treated her issues as minor quirks.

Uhhh no that would absolutely make it worth it. I need 82 Xander silvers and I am more than willing to sacrifice the needed gold so I do not have to play chapter 20 another 41 times.

100 silvers...that'd cover like everyone! I know you're exaggerating but giving 100 silvers AND golds would be a crazy good deal! That's 200 defeats of a character minimum!

My big worry is that it's a real paltry sum. Like a level 130 character only gives 13 golds. That's 13 less times to beat someone I guess but it'd be awful even with how easily money comes in. If it was 13 golds AND 13 silvers...maybe a little better. 26 golds & silvers we can start talking.

Guess that is true. With the level 104 Pincer Escape, you can easily grind around 4 million gold in an hour, so I guess you can quickly go back to 99, then do the remaining grind manually.

With the latter amount, that definitely wound not be worth it.

Hmm, that's interesting. The Level Reset feature also costs gold. one million gold to reset a level 130 Rowan...but it doesn't say how much you get in return. It better be really good to offset the literal cost and hte opportunity cost

That amount is ridiculous. Even them giving you 100 silver and gold (each) character mats would not make it worth it. Hope I am wrong.

Though I'm hoping that the Awakening characters aren't 'Name's weapon' since they don't have the excuse since they don't exist in Awakening.

They are, at least in the Japanese version.

    Robin: Thoron
    Liz: Liz's Healing Axe
    Frederick: Frederick's Guardian Axe
    Tiamo: Tiamo's Love Spear
    Owain: Mystletainn
    Tharja: Tharja's Curse
    Olivia: Olivia's Dancing Sword

Out of the new weapons, only Robin's and Owain's seem to be weapons from the games.

Also, thanks @VincentASM! Just wondering, where did you find those images? Didn't see them in the DLC section of the US site. Are they on the European one?

I know they weren't revealed at the convention. I'm just saying they revealed the packs and details, but the characters were maybe set in stone as in, all characters were probably who they wanted to include during development, but didn't get the chance too.

In that case, they definitely knew, and only said that comment because they knew the characters they picked were fan favorites.

I'm pretty sure the DLC characters were set in stone from the moment that the DLC was revealed, not leaked, but when the packs were revealed itself at the con. But it doesn't mean that a season 2 won't happen either, if fans wanted it.

The thing is, we don't know if they knew the DLC was leaked ahead of time. It probably was a surprise for Japanese speakers, who didn't know about it and can't read English and they still tried to make it a surprise for that audience.

Characters were not revealed at the convention AFAIK. We didn't know who the characters were until they were leaked on the Australian eShop, and I'm pretty sure they knew about the leak, but still kept quite about it. They always acted as if they never revealed them until Famitsu did.

Until it is announced, there are no hints toward a season 2 DLC. They even said that characters like Ike and Roy won't get in as DLC.

This was posted back in September. Pretty obvious that they were talking about the DLC we are getting, since they never officially announced them. Remember, the Australian eShop info was never meant to be seen by us AFAIK, and Japan made it seem every new character reveal was a surprise.

The english website updated too. Nothing really new other than Tharja's skill being called Vengeance and Tharja, as expected, gets a support with Robin

It also confirms that NA is getting it on the 28th! This means it'll be a simultaneous release once again.

    March 28:

    8pm EDT
    5pm PDT

    March 29:

1am UK time (I think they switch to DST this weekend)

    9am Japan time

I wonder why Validar is their go-to fill-in villain? Why not at least use Iago or Gharnef for a few of the maps?

Probably due availability of Japanese voice actors.

Did we get official confirmation or anything that this is it?

Nope, but looking at what they are adding, it looks like it's a proper send off to the game. They're probably going to focus on their other games if those do better, and Hyrule Warriors DE is more than likely going to sell more copies than this game.

  16. Huh, it looks like the Chapter 11 map has been cut in half. I wonder if it'll end with Chrom defeating "Gangrel". Disappointed that it isn't Chapter 10, would have loved to hear a remix of one of the best tunes from the game. IIRC, Chapter 9 and 11 use the same music.

Hopefully there won't be a marriage scene afterward between Chrom and Olivia. If that happened, that would open a whole can of worms.
