  1. The "BBQ recreation" is a hack I made called Barhara Revisited where we play the BBQ out. It's in the FEE3 section of the fan project section.
  2. Poor, pathetic Deirdre. Sigurd was only in it for the looks and character, he certainly didn't marry her for the genes. She can silence Sandima... and that's about it! She just gets left in the dust, and if she catches up she can't even kill things since no Pursuit. Even if she had it, she'd still be useless because Aura weighs as much as a ton of bricks or thereabouts. And then she's only usable for one and a bit chapters, because Sigurd makes her stay at home and then stupid Manfloy goes and wipes her memory, takes her away, and we only find her at the BBQ and now she's stuck married to Dastard and is gonna give birth to everyone's favourite demon. now play my bbq recreation she gets narga there so she's not awful anymore Her growths outside Magic/Res are awful, so she's never gonna be any good at anything. She can use staves... not that she can afford them. At least she looks good, right? Right? I guess she's better then Arden... 2/10 with the half point bias since I feel a bit sorry for her. Stupid Manfloy and whatever chump let him walk over them so plot could happen for a 2.5/10.
  3. How would one even have a TMS meta? Have teams of five monsters duke it out?
  4. Jamka breaks the mould of horrible early-game archer: he's actually good. He has a ton of skills, including the all-important Pursuit, and he comes with the killer bow, giving him access to what I sometimes call the "Three Cs": Continue, Charge, and Critical. He has good bases, even if some of his growths are questionable. *glares at skill* If he attacks something, there is a good chance he will kill it. On the negative side of things, he is still two-range locked so he won't have much of an enemy phase, but FE4 AI is dumb and he can counter things every so often anyway. He doesn't have a horse but who honestly cares. 6 move isn't awful. Don't underestimate this bow user. 7/10.
  5. FE4 has many name charts. However, they tend to list only two lists of names and no more. This chart I made compares every translation patch released that I know of, along with all the FAQs on GameFAQs. It can be used as a point of reference to see when names were introduced or when older names fell out of use. http://mediafire.com/file/yft8d8z8aunw83c/Darrman&27s+Fancy+Name+Chart+Thing.xls
  6. Aideen is a healer. She heals things. Pretty simple. She also has a better staff rank than Ethlin, so she can use better staves. She has more magic than Ethlin so she can heal more then 20 HP at a time. And even if you swap their heal and mend staves, Aideen can still physic and warp people. Ethlin can't do that! On the downside, she only has 5 move. And it ain't getting any better. And she has no skills. At all. She can't fight until promotion and even when she does promote she's only ever gonna hit once, but at least it's gonna be a big enough hit what with having an existent magic growth. You don't really need to invest anything much in her. She does her job and does it well. Plus she sticks around after Ch3 so she beats Ethlin in availability as well. Ha! She can use pretty much any staff in the game. That's good. 8/10 +0.5 bias since if she wasn't kidnapped by those stupid bandits we wouldn't have a game to play plus she's pretty cute as well for an 8.5/10.
  7. Dew is a thief. Dew does thief stuff. Thief stuff means handling money. Need to buy something expensive? Gotta call Dew and he'll give you some cash... if he can get cash. His combat is beyond terrible. Like, it's atrocious. 3 strength? 1 defence? No Pursuit? C swords? How do you train this guy? It's called feeding him kills. Lots and lots of kills. And he never becomes excellent, with those awful bases. He's got 40% everything, but it's not like that strength/defense are going anywhere decent fast. On the good side of things he has Bargain, so he can buy things and then sell them without hassle. He's not losing any money! He also finds himself a wind sword near the end of Ch3 so he can ranged steal in the last two chapters, so he can get safe experience and easy money. Sol is there too, not that it's doing much. He has important utility, so I can't rate him that badly. Combat isn't his job anyway. 7/10.
  8. I should add that Sety has Resire there, which he cannot use in the vanilla game since Sages have B Light and Resire needs A Light. Someone's messing with their hacks/cheats. And I'm pretty sure it isn't Binary. There's not much in the way of English patches, the only one I know of is at http://serenesforest.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=22563. Maybe the screens were taken from that.
  9. Aira is your first myrmidon, and is pretty good. She's really annoying to recruit, but she's worth it wah no horse 1/10 because hero sword That's not fair, let's do this properly. She's annoying to recruit, because she'll chase you and then kill you if Astra goes off. Better get Alec around and hope he makes it to 11AS to avoid the double. Once you recruit her, she makes short work of the bandits and gives her a bit of experience. She'll need it; she is very squishy and dies quickly. Plus it's Ch2 and lanceland and horses and canto and getting left in the dust. Not having a horse still hurts even if you're not go go must get under 200 turns. However she picks up when she gets the Brave Sword in Chapter 3, so she can kill things easier and then promote and go nuts. or sell it to Sigurd and bench her again She's great when she promotes, but it can take a bit of effort to get there. She has the all important Pursuit and can Astra things in the name of overkill, and Nihil is there I guess. Honestly, she's not that bad. Still squishy, though. 6.5 -0.5 bias since she's a pain to get for 6/10.
  10. Midir is pretty meh. Then again I've never gotten him the brave bow, since I was an idiot in my first run and I wanted early rescue in the second. then lester didn't actually suck that badly. yay pursuit Anyway, he comes early and can do hit and run tactics pretty well. Charge is pretty good on archers since they don't have to worry about extra counterattacks, and I'd imagine he'd be good with the brave bow against all the fliers there. Maybe in playthrough 4 where I don't ironman and get you killed in the prologue. He's alright, I suppose. 6/10.
  11. Fin is an odd fellow. He shows up early on and has alright though not stellar combat against the bandits. He does have Pursuit and Cuan can buff him up... by throwing the Brave Lance at him. Fin suddenly becomes amazing. Anything he can get near, he will kill. If he can somehow get the Elite Ring, all the better. That somehow happened in first run and he was promoted by the end of Ch3... ...where he then leaves. However, things happen in plot and he shows up again in Ch7. He survived in between the generations. He didn't die. That prayer helps in in story as well as gameplay, where it's kinda crazy. In Gen 2 he gets a bit overshadowed without the brave lance... but if you give it back to him he never really drops off. He's alright for pairing, but do you really wanna gimp him by gluing him to Lachesis for their combined existence? Amazing availability and a great unit, 8.5/10+0.5 bias since he survived the hellhole that is Jugdral, for a 9/10.
  12. oh it's ethlin day now in the title i'm posting early She's your first healer. She's also a mounted healer. That means she can catch up to Zigludo's mad rampage sometimes. That's pretty cool. Not so cool is the fact she only has C staves... but that's enough to be able to use Return at least. Her combat is awful before promotion and she lacks Pursuit, but healing is nice. Really nice. Plus she can keep up. She kinda gets the first magic sword so she can use that well enough. Wanna go fast? Better bring Ethlin along. 8/10.
  13. Here's the evidence: Darn MarthxKatua fans and their pretending that she's his waifu. Trying to imposter Sheeda, are we? I've done a little investigating and it seems like a pointer got messed up. Try to change "Caeda" to "Catria"... then Sheeda becomes mislabelled as Katua. Great.
  14. Cuan is as close to a Jeigan you can get in Gen 1. So what does he have going for him? Well he's got pretty good bases, pretty good growths, and insanely high attack. Sure he's only gonna hit once... but you can be sure it's gonna be a big one. He has Continue as well, on the off-chance it actually activates. He gets Gae Bolg as well... right before he leaves. Have fun overkilling pirates! Can't really go wrong with him. 7.5/10. He'd be a solid 9+ if he had pursuit, but alas... Does he really need it?

    FE3 in GBA

Been a while, but here's some more concrete evidence that this is indeed a thing. New battle frame, by intsys's fe7 with minor changes err, myself. With authentic FE3 colours and labels!
  16. Azel is... not that great. Sure he starts out being able to 1RKO bandits in the prologue, but his combat quickly falls off. He can't arena very well, the myrms laugh at him. Fire weighs him down by 12, so he won't be doubling anything with a sword. He can probably still double lance users with his high speed and Pursuit, but when you actually see lance users, he's just left in the dust since he has five move. Sure he gets a horse when he promotes... not that he's getting there any time soon. He's alright in axeland, but he becomes near-useless once Ch2 begins. 4/10.
  17. Lex has two main things going for him. Paragon and the Brave Axe. He levels up fast and can kill most enemies in two hits. So he gets a weapon that can attack twice and he then one-rounds most enemies while also being a much better tank than Arden. Vantage is nice as well, so he can one-round most enemies before getting attacked. Without the Brave Axe he'd just be another cavalier but he does have it so we're all well and good. Plus all the kids like their increased experience yield and not having to play Elite Ring Tag. He gets a solid 8/10.
  18. Like the others have said, people generally tend to not pay too much attention to the daily concept out of the blue. What you'll need is progress. Good, solid progress. And plot progress doesn't count. The ideas guy isn't exactly a favourable role to have. What you need is screenshots of your chapter progress. Make a demo after a few chapters. And don't aim for a huge 30-chapter hack as a starting project; you'll just burn out. Start with the reskins, then try a chapter. Don't bite off more than you can chew. As you get further into things and your concept is more than a concept, then people will pay attention to your project..
  19. Well... http://feuniverse.us/t/fe1-nightmare-modules-hey-we-can-edit-growths-now/1205 There's some FE1 documentation hiding there. (Click the "have another update" link.)
  20. Arden. Poor, poor Arden. He's an armour knight! ...In the game where being an armour is a terrible idea! His strength and defense are alright, but everything else is awful. Can't get anywhere. Can't double. Faster enemies laugh at him. He has Vantage, I guess... not that he's gonna do much with that first strike. At least his convos were funny and he can use lots of weapons if he promotes I guess. 2/10 +0.5 bias for POWER OF PURSUIT for 2.5/10.
  21. 1: He keeps his items when unpaired. 2: He won't get it because it won't be inherited. If you want Leaf to start with things, have Ethlin buy them at the end of Ch3.
  22. Alec isn't much better than Noish, but at least he has Pursuit. Nihil doesn't do much other then Aira-bait, but at least it doesn't hurt him. His bad strength does hurt him, though. He really isn't doing much damage. You could give him a lance, but then he won't double the faster enemies. (not that there's much of those...) He gets a 5/10. At least he has Pursuit.
  23. Noish, the red knight. He has a horse... and that's about where the good things end. He can't double. He doesn't have enough skill to crit often. Charge is itself. I managed to get him to promotion once, but he never was a particularly good unit. He might be decent if you give him the Pursuit Ring or something, but others would want that. I suppose he can reach the enemies... 4/10. Can't really do much.
  24. Ah, the mighty Zigludo. You get him off the bat, and he just goes nuts from there. He smashes everything with his Silver Sword of Doom. He can easily reach the far-flung reaches of far away. He can even throw javelins and not suck. He has Pursuit, the one skill to rule them all, he demolishes the arenas... and then he gets the Tyrfing in Ch5 to remove his only weakness, low res. 10/10 without a doubt.
