  1. If you want to combine effects, you need to add up the values of every attribute you want and input that number. To take an example from the values visible, to have an indestructible unsellable weapon, you must add 0x10 and 0x08 for 0x18. Use a hex calculator since hex numbers work differently to normal numbers; A-F represent 10 to 15.
  2. GEN 2 START! Celice starts out pretty meh, but he grows into his father's shoes with time. His bases aren't great, and his growths aren't that much better then dad. He does have some magic and res from his mum, so he doesn't need the Tyrfing as badly to shrug off magic. But when Celice reaches level 20 at the expense of everyone else I mean soloing ch6 with him is a good idea right, he suddenly gets a good deal better. He gets a horse! He gets some stats! HE GETS A HORSE! Now he truly is his father's son, as Celice now becomes as awesome as Sigurd! And that's a good thing. If you want to reduce the amount of time Celice is stuck in scrub mode, give him the Elite Ring and his father's other sword. (Or the brave sword, if you prefer. That also works.) Skillwise, Celice has the ever important Pursuit from his father, and Nihil from his mother. I guess it blocks those couple lategame bosses with skills? Better have it then not, I guess. All and all, Celice is another Sigurd except he needs to be babied a bit a ton but it saves turns so it's okay until he becomes great. As a result, he gets a slightly lower score of 9.5/10. he can also marry his sister with the power of glitches if you don't mind ironmanning 6-1 but if you reset, too bad! he'll be stuck with someone else; I prefer him with healer lady 2.0 myself.
  3. I'll run off all first gen, but just take the top however many if you put a limit in. I feel generous enough for most things... but not all. Lachesis x Fin Fury x Levin Briggid x Holyn Sylvia x Claude Tiltyu x Azel Aira x Lex Aideen x Midir Second gen doesn't matter for much really. i'd make you execute that glitch but glitches so just pair celice with lana instead please
  4. Yes; bishops I know it's high priests but meh have A staves and Fortify requires A rank. You won't be able to pass it down, though.
  5. While they never instantly fell in love, in the last run of FE4 I did Celice was at the "in love" stage at the fortune teller with Daisy at the start of Ch7. However, it went away after I reset the game. Perhaps it's something to do with love tables being messed up or something; Celice and Julia didn't have their 490 base before the reset.
  6. If you enter the arena at low HP, Prayer does not activate. You must be knocked into Prayer range during the battle.
  7. Finally, time to finish Gen 1. Let's start with Briggid first. She's a prepromote sniper and all the ltcers leave ...As I was saying, she's a sniper. That means no enemy phase like our other two archers. However, the way this game seems to work for me is the later an archer you are, the better you are. Midir is pretty meh, Jamka is pretty cool, and Briggid nukes anything in range. She's cool like that. Good bases help. Then her sister gives her a holy weapon. Sure Ichival is the worst of the holy weapons. It's still a holy weapon. And holy weapons are amazing. Not much is surviving two attacks from it. I mean the thing has effectively 40 might! And the next chapter she's in is full of fliers! And squishy mages she has good odds to OHKO! And she has Pursuit as well! Now she is still an archer, so no EP unless the AI is being dumb. That does happen. She is a foot unit, but she's the 6-move variety so it's not the end of the world. She's a better Jamka except she has worse availability. I can't remember what I gave Jamka, a 7 or something. You can get a 7/10 as well, Briggid. Now for Claude! He's a staffbot. He has literally no skills. He comes with Fortify and Valkyrie, which can bring units back from the dead. Sick of RNG abusing some chump to keep them alive? Revive them! Get a great unit killed during an ironman or something? Revive them! Any other cause of death? Revive them! ...That's about it, honestly. He's a staffbot, through and through. Also five move. You can revive and Fortify, so take a 5.5/10 or something. No First Warper Bonus for you.
  8. please just roll subs in with the kids or something I never did a proper sub run and I don't wanna lose my perfect record of posting in here every day I did ironman and the ironman lead me to have almost all subs; they then died quickly more often then not. It basically devolved into "The Celice and Aless Show: featuring Oifey!" I managed to get Leaf to promotion; then he ate a Ch10 Lopt to the face. I got Johan the Brave Axe complete with Critical; he whiffed two 60s where one would have killed and got three units slain, including himself. Hawk was pretty good; until I misjudged the reinforcement mechanics and got ambush spawned by Hannibal's crew. By the end of the game, all I had left was Celice himself, his sister, and his wife (Lana this time around.) But enough about my woeful ironman. all surviving units get auto-positive bias for not being a corpse When we talk about the kids, I'll go about my experience with them in the pairings I've put them in. I'll do a little theory if I haven't done some pairings, but I can't exactly go at length about the awesomeness of Levin!Arthur; I've never had him. I'd still have one day for each kid and give them one total rating, but we can talk about whatever pairings have them at their best. Otherwise the list would be a bit of a mess if it had every different pairing with a different score and looked like "Celice, Aless, this Leen, that Leen, another Leen..." or something. But let's cross that bridge when we come to it. Eventually. when can I start my writeup on pope/pirate lady already
  9. Are we on the hype train? Get on it, we've got Elibian Nights and Emblem Magic and Mystery of the Emblem!
  10. yay time to see the exploits of marysue and his adventures of getting everyone to love him Oh wait, no growths... Marth gets his spotlight back? Anyway, seeing Maniac getting split in two is gonna be fun.
  11. Tiltyu is bad. Simply put. She comes into play quite late in the game at a very low level and lacks Pursuit. Great. She does have one skill that makes her a bit less useless sometimes; Wrath. When she's knocked below 50% health, she automatically criticals, and a crit from Thoron is gonna hurt. Only problem is she is an incredibly squishy unit. Sure, that first pirate gets a crit to the face. Then she gets killed by pirate number two. Wonderful, yet another reset. Statwise she has lots of skill, so she's not gonna miss her attacks, but with 1 base and 10% growth, she's not taking any hits. Ever. Don't even think of it; most physical enemies in the late game will just kill her, no questions asked. Now I'd normally go on about how they're better when they promote... except I don't know, I never got her to 20. She gains staves so I suppose she can staffspam or something, but you already have plenty of those by now. Did I mention she has the dreaded 5 move? Another nail in the coffin of usefulness. Lacks Pursuit? Check. Incredibly squishy? Check. Gets left in the dust? Check. Bites the dust because her family are evil jerks? Check. Uh... She has Wrath? That's a plus... right? She's better than Arden... maybe. He has availability. 1.5/10. Fury can do the whole "kill pirates" thing too.
  12. She's like the least consistent person ever when it comes to names. No official name in English; Japanese merchandise calls her Adean, this patch calls her Aideen, and no-one's sure what it's really meant to be. Spell checker doesn't kill me when I mention Aideen so I tend to go with that. Let's just pretend it's 2000 again; have Deu stand in front of Edin...
  13. FE1: I mess in the guts of it but I haven't actually played it start to finish... Probably ASAP due to promotion bonus mechanics. FE2: ASAP. FE3: At 20. FE4: At 20 (which is ASAP there anyway) FE5: Generally wait till 20 or at least near enough. GBA: At 20. I earlypromoted Franz on my very first playthrough. I regretted it. FE9: At 20 unless you're really slow (looking at you Rhys) FE10: Haven't gotten far enough yet... FE11: At 20. FE12: At 20. FE13: Does it even matter? I waited... I think. FE14: I'll probably wait till 20.
  14. Fury can fly. Flying is good. Very good. Sure it isn't as good as in some other games but it's still good. Need someone to get past that annoying terrain to kill that siege person? Better get Fury on the job. Slogging through Ch5 and its Meteor mages? You have to get Fury to kill them. So how does Fury kill things, you ask? Well her bases are pretty good, what with the 18 speed and all that. However, her growths leave a lot to be desired. She tends to get loads of blank levels and when your highest non-HP growth is a mere 30%... She isn't getting much when she does get stats. But there are ways to make her more useful. The biggest one involves her robbing Fin of his brave lance while he's packing up to head to Lenster, and keeping it for herself into Ch4. Her combat gets a lot better when you can quadruple enemies. When she promotes, she also gets staff access, although she isn't using much better then Mend/Return. Still, it's there and doesn't come at the expense of sword access like it does in 3DSFE... She can even fall in love with Levin instantly because it's canon dammit if you want, but that's besides the point. She flies, and that's always good. 8/10. So I checked how frequently our green-haired chick on a horse (not to be confused with the dancing green haired chick) was called her many different names, and she was Fury six times, Ferry twice, and Erin once. Checkmate, Ferry fanboys.
  15. Ah, Sylvia. You make things so much easier for everyone. Sure she can't fight. But who cares she'd probably lose a fight against Dew? Let's get the negatives out of the way first. Her combat sucks and she can't promote. Her sword rank is bad so she isn't using anything better then slim. Her growths are awful, Magic/Res aside. She has a useless Continue and a not-so useless Prayer to let her not die if she avoids getting one-shotted. But she also has Dance. Not just any dancing. 4-way dancing. Get Sigurd, Cuan, Lex, and some other scrub in a diamond. Get Sylvia in the middle of them. Boom; your killer mounted squad take off and ditch your footies even faster. Speaking of footies, she can give them a dose of catch-up as well so they can get there. And if she manages to obtain the Leg and Knight Rings... Well she basically has a horse in that situation. Simply amazing. plus she can marry her long-lost brother and I don't care that they're officially cousins the game implies siblings stop backpedalling intsys Use her. She's amazing. Probably near the top if not topping the Dancer Tier List. 10/10. oh great she's asking Sigurd if he's ever seen a little girl with those... ...Still worth it. And now Alec gets the first *special dance!* And then incest? Her Judgralness really shows.
  16. "Furthermore Levin isn't even a good dad cause all his pairings are very gimmicky and mediocre" >Holsety >Mediocre Oh, come on. Seriously?! You call passing down a good weapon mediocre? Gimmicky? Well I guess passing down the Elite Ring to Celice is gimmicky too. Sure, inheritance is gimmicky! Everything is a dumb gimmick! Even if you take Holsety out of the picture our Levin!Sety still has stupid good bases and insane speed even with Lightning/Elwind along with Pursuit/Continue/Critical and Fee still has her +5 strength convo in Ch10 helping her out, along with the same skills as her brother. Holsety is just the cherry on top of an already-great pairing.
  17. Now I can run around with more proof of my Judgral love! Super Zigludo Badge on!
  18. Levin is the best of the first gen magic users. Sure, he doesn't have Pursuit. But he's got Critical and Continue in order to deal with enemies, so he shouldn't have much trouble killing things. If he fails to kill, someone can clean up after him anyway. He comes late enough, though, but he's good when he's around. Now if a certain event in Chapter 4 didn't happen I'd end this here and give him a 5 or something. But the event does happen. Oh, it happens. After Ch4-2, Levin gets himself the almighty power of Holsety!! So much for mediocre mage guy with some skills. Now he has a 30mt +10skl +20spd nuclear missile of doom. Any fool who tries to attack him will miss. 65% Continue and 30-something crit chance means chances are very high the foe will die. Assuming they aren't just OHKOed. Did I mention Levin has crazy promotion bonuses too? Plus staff shenanigans if you're into that? Levin is awesome. Don't let that 6 move put you off. And if you want super-awesome? Give him the Pursuit Ring. You will not be disappointed. Oh, what's this "balance" thing? Better smash it in two with Holsety. 8/10 +0.5 because he's a cool guy. And dragons stop him getting BBQed. 8.5/10. Don't tell Fee or Sety I said he was cool. I'll get murdered. Like father, like son, you know.
  19. Been a while since one of these showed up. I'll be watching! i'd play if we had an fe4 meta full of everyone getting 1rkoed
  20. Beowulf is kinda just there. You have to throw 10,000 gold at him to even get him on your side, what with him being a mercenary for hire and all that. So what does this payment do for us? We get a decidedly average cavalier. He has alright strength and some crazy promo bonuses (+9 skill anyone) but he's never essential or anything. He does have a horse at least, along with the ever-important Pursuit. But he's around as useful as the mounted Chalphy Chumps, combining Noish's Charge and Alec's Pursuit to get a unit that is the same use as both. Yay, Charge on a melee unit. Woo. In a word: meh. 5/10.
  21. Lachesis starts out rather useless. Can't fight anything, has the Suicide Paladins stalking her, levels up slowly... She can use staves to serve as a backup healer, I guess. She can give charisma boosts if she's nearby I guess. If she didn't promote into what she does I'd put Lachesis in the leagues of Deirdre and Arden. But she does promote into what she does. Into a Master Knight, the best class in the game! Lachesis suddenly stopped sucking. She became awesome. She can use anything she pleases that isn't one of the 12 Holy Weapons or Aura. She can kill things easily now. She gets a horse so Sigurd can't ditch her. ...But getting her to awesome takes a lot of effort. Was it worth it? ...Of course it was, it's not like it's the ordeal of training Dew. Slow start penalises her, but promotion gives her a boost out of chump tier. 7/10. I haven't really been making enough jokes at character's expense in this. Wee bit too close for siblings with Eltshan still? Keeping Fin out of combat? Cheating on Beowulf or something? Get up to that stuff with Dew? Be stuck with Azel because someone likes magic swords? *All of them at once with some cheats?* That's the Lachesis we all know and love. We made most of that up? Stop denying it.
  22. I first played FE4 about a year and a half ago, and am currently on Chapter 9 of my third playthrough. I play it when I'm in the mood for it; which is often enough, what with it being my favourite game in the franchise and all. how I haven't ragequitted from anyone important dying in that run which is also an ironman yet...
  23. Holyn is basically another Aira swapping Astra for Luna and a bit more durability. As a result, I shall give him the same score except without the negative bias, since he's not a pain to recruit. He was pretty good on my ironman run, but he misses out on positive bias since he didn't make the BBQ. He's a solid unit. 6.5/10.
