  1. I put in my votes for both Alvis and Julius, because I just love those chapters in the game, and the epic nature of the battle. Alvis sends out his elite army, the Rotten Ritter, and it's poetic justice (although 99% of the time it's Levin!Sety who gets the kill) to kill Alvis in Chalphy. For Julius, after you conquer Freege, everyone is out for blood. The Dark Warlords, Weissen Ritter, and Manfroy's Dark Mages all are attacking at once, and then you still have to deal with Julius himself. My last playthrough I had Nanna, Delmud, and Seliph surround my Level 30 Julia, and she absolutely wrecked Julius (he activated Charge, so he died in one turn).
  2. I don't play LTC, but in FE6 where chapters are bogged down with high amounts of sieges and status staves, both of which most units in the game are ill-equipped to combat, warpskipping (or at least saving the hassle of navigating the maze-like pattern of most Gaidens) is extremely useful to avoid annoyance in those chapters.
  3. Lex gives no one inheritance but he's still the best physical father because of his Neir blood and Elite. He's the best overall father for Tiltyu (Levin!Arthur is superior to all but Lex!Tinny and Lex!Arthur are better overall). Lex isn't NOT getting married unless it's a subs run. ClaudexFury is a great pairing because Libro!Fee is ridiculous. She's not that great on the offense but I don't think there's that much competition for one of the Power Rings. Claude!Sety is naturally the second best Sety, because he still has Fury's Pursuit, his awesome Speed, and can kill shit with Lightning. I've always thought Holyn!Swordtwins was their best pairing because of Holyn's superior growths, actual inheritance, and Luna, but I can see why Noish is more favored. I've done most logical pairings for Ayra (Lex, Holyn, Noish, and even Jamka) and all of them have proven superior. You can't fuck over the swordtwins unless you pair her with Azel, Alec, or Claude (and even then, Claude!Swordtwins can pull off some Magic Sword shenanigans). Overall it's the concensus that Charge is superior in Gen 2 because it will theoretically be seen a lot. Remember that we're looking at optimal availability. It's very likely that at least two of Midir, Beowulf, Jamka, and Noish will be paired, optimally three of them will be. We're looking at 4~6 children inheriting Charge. I'm willing to move Charge even higher for Gen 2 if it's necessary.
  4. I did HolynxSylvia once, it was interesting. A strange yet workable pairing is AzelxSylvia. Not ideal because you lose out on kids like Azel!Arthur, Azel!Lana, and Azel!Delmud, but it's still workable. But since I can't be assed to recruit Corple 9 times out of 10, I don't know how good he is with Azel.
  5. I forgot Beowulf, like an idiot. Yay. TTPK_Tal is right, though--Beowulf usually isn't fathering anyone besides Delmud and Nanna. He's a decent father for Faval and Patty, but he's tertiary to Holyn and Dew (I did FinxBriggid my last run and had the most successful Patty ever, even though she died to Julius in Miletos). That's the problem with the Charge fathers, with MidirxAideen and BeoxLachesis being the only exceptions, they're always secondary/tertiary choices for pairings. nonetheless it's an amazing skill when used right. At least some kids are getting it, and usually good kids get Charge. I once did Jamka!Swordtwins and they were amazing to work with (besides no inheritance for Skash). I'm also willing to move Prayer down some, but Middle for Gen 1 seems a bit too low. Fin relies on Prayertanking in Chapters 1 and 2, and even Prayer Sword!Lachesis pulls some crazy stunts with it. Prayer Sword is also a good choice for Ethlin who already has very high dodge. [spoiler=Gen 1]Pursuit Tier Pursuit High Tier Dance Elite Return High Middle Tier Prayer Steal Charge Middle Tier Continue Critical Charisma Astra Bargain Low Middle Tier Wrath Luna Ambush Low Tier Sol Nihil Life Bottom Tier Great Shield [spoiler=Gen 2]Pursuit Tier Pursuit High Tier Dance Elite Charisma High Middle Tier Continue Critical Charge Middle Tier Astra Prayer Bargain Wrath Low Middle Tier Steal Ambush Return Luna Low Tier Nihil Life Bottom Tier Great Shield Sol So I moved Charge much higher for both lists. I'm not 100% sure about it's Generation 1 placing, but i can't justify a Tier Gap between Continue and Critical, nor do I feel Charge can separate the two individually. Charisma and Prayer were moved down in their respective Generations, as discussed. Sol was moved much lower because it's a low-rent version of Life, and since Dew is nowhere near an optimal father, it's possible it is nonexistent in the Second Generation. At least Hannibal has Great Shield to begin with. I also realized Steal was on the list twice for Gen 2. I moved it even lower because we're really not using it as much in an optimal play.
  6. They have all of the Princess merchandise, to be fair. Their dresses are always sold in the Boutique, and their merch takes up over half the Princess section of World of Disney. There was a point where Frozen merch was limited to six items per transaction, per Guest.
  7. I want to consider Give a part of Steal, but since anyone can get the Villages and Give is linked to Lovers as well (who have a better chance of getting cash quickly due to the Arena and more villages). It honestly makes Steal pretty useless in Gen 2 unless we have GodPatty, which we don't. I feel like Charge's overall usefulness depends on if Noish/Jamka/Midir have kids worthy of using Charge. No doubt it's brilliant on, say, the Swordtwins or Fury's kids, but both of them have fathers they want way more than those three (Lex/Holyn for Ayra and Levin/Claude for Fury). Odds are, only Midir is getting paired, and he's getting paired with Aideen. Lester's not that good, and NonMagicFather!Lana won't ever see combat (I personally prefer Azel/Aideen because Pursuit and crazy Lana shenanigans). Unfortunately, every kid wants a better father than the Charge fathers, making it a little less useful for the Second Generation. I don't deny Charge is a great skill to have, and when it's on the right unit it's wonderful, but in terms of optimal inheritance it's rarely being seen, whereas Continue and Critical are a lot more commonplace.
  8. If anything I was basing it off of the original list, I agree wholeheartedly. I was considering who would have Prayer besides Fin (his kids and Sylvia's kids, plus the Prayer Sword user in a Children run), but it's very true that Prayer isn't as useful in Gen 2. When crafting the original list I looked at Prayer as an amazing skill, which it is, but I focused on the overall and didn't take both generations separately at that time. If anything, it would drop to around below Astra with Continue and Critical taking its place. Also with regards to the Second Generation, how good is Steal? It's either on Patty, who is heavily dependent on a good father/inheritance and won't be doing any fighting until she can take potshots in Melgen, or Daisy, who is a useless scrub. Sure it means more money for Holy Weapon repairs, but the Generation 2 thieves really won't be getting as much money as Dew did in Generation 1. After she recruits Faval, Patty is relegated to bench duty, and most players skip Assholio entirely because he costs turns.
  9. So something like this would be ideal: [spoiler=Generation 1 List] Pursuit Tier Pursuit High Tier Dance Elite Return High Middle Tier Prayer Steal Charisma Middle Tier Continue Critical Charge Astra Bargain Low Middle Tier Wrath Luna Ambush Low Tier Sol Nihil Bottom Tier Great Shield Life [spoiler=Generation 2 List] Pursuit Tier Pursuit High Tier Dance Elite Charisma High Middle Tier Prayer Steal Middle Tier Continue Critical Astra Charge Steal Bargain Low Middle Tier Wrath Ambush Return Luna Low Tier Nihil Sol Life Bottom Tier Great Shield
  10. Ambush isn't that good on its own, its worth is truly defined by what it combines with. Luckily, Lex is such a good father that most anyone who gets it will be a good unit. Tiltyu's kids use Ambush/Wrath for ridiculousness, the Swordtwins become immortal with it, and even some other lesser-known pairings will be good with it (let's be real, Ardan is always forever alone and Lex isn't being paired with anyone not named Ayra or Tiltyu). Johan does quite well with Ambush when he has the Hero Axe and Pursuit Ring (possible depending on who fathered Arthur and whether or not Leaf is promoted), and Aless has a ridiculous amount of skills. By that logic Ambush will move up. I don't think it's better than Astra (it's attached to the three best foot units in the game, activates often because of their Odo-enhanced Skill growths, and can combine with their innate Continue/Hero Sword for even more craziness) but it does deserve to move much higher. RE: Dance: I'm not inclined to move it an entire tier above Elite, nor is it worth moving Pursuit down from its broken tier. Bargain's leaving its tier anyway, so if I leave that tier alone with just Dance and Elite, that will be satisfactory. RE: Bargain: Bargain will be going down for obvious reasons, but as for where I'm not sure. Somewhere in Middle Tier perhaps, because it's still useful in the right hands, and Holy Weapon users want that Bargain Ring if Dew isn't their father (read: everyone except possibly Faval). RE: Continue/Critical: I'm willing to move Critical down right below/above Continue because I really don't know why I have a Tier gap between them.
  11. I'm talking about the Disney coronation ceremony, where the aformentioned princess is welcomed into the official Disney Princess ranks. Merida was the last one to have that ceremony. For example, that's how Mulan is considered a Princess even though she does not hold that title at all in her story. She was crowned a Disney Princess, and thus she is referred to as such.
  12. I tried to take both Generations into account when I was making the list. I'm not opposed to making a second list, though.
  13. I usually just ruin vacations and make children cry. But, yes, I am a Character Attendant, my primary job is naturally assisting characters during their meet-and-greet times, acting as their voice when they are not up for talking, and things of that nature.
  14. Overall, though, Pursuit is still extremely valuable in both Generations. When looking at units in both generations, the first question everyone asks is "do they have a horse", the second is "do they have Pursuit". It's THAT good and makes a difference, especially in those early Gen 2 moments when Seliph isn't on a horse (also assuming he doesn't have the Knight Ring, which is highly possible if Sylvia married) and you need someone to kill the boss. Those Pursuit units are taking priority so they can Canto away and Seliph can seize in the same turn. Although I do agree that Pursuit is a lot more common in Gen 2, but when it comes down to the wire, it's still THAT good, and the units with Pursuit are still more valuable than the units without. Of course, there are the exceptions like Levin!Arthur and Lex!Arthur, but I've noticed that Arthur tends to get the Pursuit Ring most of the time, especially after Leaf promotes. If it's glued to Arthur, it's not going to anyone else. Not every kid's going to have Pursuit (lolAlecpairings), so it can--and will--make a difference in those moments where everyone's promoted and doing the fighting. Of course, that logic makes Elite even better because of the very-contested Elite Ring. In Gen 1 it's mostly good for getting those slower units to their promotions (although arguably it's glued to Fin until Chapter 3, then it becomes a Lachesis/Fury/possibly Levin deathmatch for who gets it next), but in Gen 2 it's much more valuable when we need to get Seliph, Leaf, and Arthur on their horses ASAP. Lex is only one father and he's highly contested for. Even if he marries Tiltyu and Arthur thus has innate Elite, we're looking at Seliph and Leaf battling over Elite (although everyone and their mother promotes Elite Ring!Seliph by Chapter 7's beginning). I'm sure I'm missing someone when it comes to Elite in Gen 2, but I've only had one cup of coffee so forgive me. Edit: And no, there's no theoretical way Ethlin will be giving Leaf both the Elite and Pursuit rings. Even with Cuan and Dew giving her everything they ever make, ever, she can't afford them. Plus, that's suboptimal when Seliph and Levin!Arthur both want the Elite Ring, and Lex!Arthur performs ridiculous shenanigans with the Pursuit Ring.
  15. Well it sucks over at Disneyland because of Measles and shit, but I work at Disney World.
  16. It's highly possible I do know her, but I don't know her via just forum identity. I do work with a lot of people every day. Yay Entertainment!
  17. I recall ages ago Shin told me Light Sword!Dew is amazing for tanking the Cross Knights. That's a decent amount of cash right there, and you are right, Steal is useful because banditchip. In my opinion, it is much better in Gen 1, because of the aformentioned Light Sword shenanigans, as well as that entire wave of bandits Dew and Aideen encounter in Chapter 1, which Dew can tank by plopping himself on a forest while Aideen runs away. As for Prayer, I originally ranked it much higher and I don't know why I changed it. True, it depends on how good the player is at manipulating it (although in all fairness an average player is most likely assumed for the sake of easiness), but Prayertanking is what makes units like Fin so powerful. As for Return, I've never found usage for the rings because my Return Staffer is 99% of the time on a horse (easy levels for Ethlin and Nanna when I Returngrind), but it's useful for quick clears of Chapters 3 and 4 with Sigurd, saves charges on the Return Staff for chapters like 9 where enemies charge the fuck out of your home castle when most of your party is nowhere near it, and also it's good for any quick promotion runs. For now Return will go into Middle Tier, maybe right above Wrath (Charge is just too good in the right hands, and even the wrong hands sometimes). Steal is moving up as well, for now right below Prayer because I can't justify that many skills in High, and the three that are there are just too good.
  18. Steal is amazing, don't get me wrong. However, it's locked to three of the most useless units in the game. Dew never sees combat, Daisy is pathetic, and Patty is only good with the right father/inheritance. And I should consider the class skill option, although only Continue is affected. Pursuit is still amazing, and Great Shield still sucks. Although it may be at least better than Nihil... when it's used Great Shield is useful. But the problem is, it's on units who are never used. I may have to consider looking into the option of "in a perfect world where everyone is used and trained to level 30".
  19. Warpskipping has been wonderful for those later chapters of FE6, as well as a lot of the shitty Gaidens. Because even with an overpowered party, those chapters are still ridiculous.
  20. So, if my recent posts haven't been obvious enough, I work for Disney. My job is pretty simple, I'm a character attendant. I hang out with various characters and assist them throughout the day. Today, I was at Character Spot at EPCOT, which is Mickey, Minnie, and Goofy. I was with Mickey where overheard a little girl asking her parents why Mickey wasn't talking*. *At Town Square Theatre in Magic Kingdom, Mickey talks with Guests. I, being a wonderful Cast Member, struck up a conversation with this girl and her sister, who were becoming upset that Mickey wasn't talking. The remainder of the conversation is as follows: Me: "Well, sweetheart. Mickey's saving up his voice because he has a big date with Minnie tonight. He has to tell her how much he loves her and how beautiful she is. I heard he's taking her out to dinner, then to a movie, and then he's taking her out on a sailboat!" The girls naturally got very excited about this. However, their parents... not so much. Mom, to Dad: "How come you never take me on a sailboat?: Dad, to Mom: "Let's not get in a fight here." While I'm not sure if they were being 100% serious, it's mildly concerning that this husband and wife are quite jealous of Mickey and Minnie's romantic life, and that their entire marriage is hinging on one sailboat trip.
  21. Disney photos incoming. [spoiler=Oh hey I lost weight since the last time I was active] Me and my boss. He's pretty dapper. My number one. for shamless selfies follow me on Instagram @sircraigstephen
  22. I can't be assed to find the old one which is very possibly 3+ years old now. I once made a tier list of the Genealogy skills, and naturally, my list-making self has decided to remake it. It's a simple enough list, as skills are much easier to judge than units for numerous reasons. Personal experience definitely comes less into play here as well. The ranking criteria are as follows: -Availability: How available this skill is to your units. Obviously the more common the skill, the more useful. This does not include the auto-critical tacked onto 50+ kill weapons (because then Critical could theoretically be the top of everything by virtue of reinforcement farming). Class/weapon skills are included in this tally. Also, it is taken into account which units possess these skills. For example, Ayra possessing Nihil is absolutely useless because she will never, ever be critted; whereas Alec's possession of Nihil is a little more useful because he can avoid Horseslayer crits. Same with, say, Wrath: Tiltyu and Tinny possessing Wrath is useless because they are extremely frail for a majority of the game, whereas Arthur is amazing with Wrath, especially if he is Lex or Levin's son. -Effect in Battle: How this skill benefits (or poses a drawback) to your units in battle affects its placement. Does it make your units kill enemies faster? Make them die less? Allow them to progress further? -Activation: How often does this skill activate? The more it activates, the better, naturally. -Adaptability: How easy is it for this skill to go from one generation to the next? This also includes how it benefits or hinders children characters. -Contributions to Efficiency Plays: We're not looking at absolute LTC here, but we're not turtling either. How does the skill help your units achieve their goals easier? Rings are also included in a skill's overall ranking. This, of course, affects very few skills, but it does affect the availability of the Ring skills. Another minor consideration is how well the skill works with other skills on units. For example, the almighty Ambush/Wrath combo makes both skills more useful when stacked, but not necessarily on their own. This is mostly looked at with skills like Charge and Continue which can be very dangerous when combined together or with Pursuit. UPDATE: Due to requests the tier list has been switched to two separate lists by Generation. Those are below. This is the original, and general, tier list, and will remain up for debate and reference. Pursuit Tier Pursuit High Tier Dance Elite High Middle Tier Prayer Steal Charisma Middle Tier Critical Continue Astra Charge Bargain Return Wrath Low Middle Tier Ambush Luna Low Tier Sol Nihil Life Bottom Tier Great Shield [spoiler=First Generation]Pursuit Tier Pursuit High Tier Dance Elite Return High Middle Tier Prayer Steal Charisma Middle Tier Continue Critical Charge Astra Bargain Low Middle Tier Wrath Luna Ambush Low Tier Sol Nihil Bottom Tier Life Great Shield [spoiler=Second Generation] Pursuit Tier Pursuit High Tier Dance Elite Charisma High Middle Tier Continue Critical Charge Middle Tier Prayer Astra Charge Steal Bargain Low Middle Tier Wrath Ambush Return Luna Low Tier Sol Life Bottom Tier Nihil Great Shield [spoiler=The Almighty ChangeLog]3/8/2015: -Bargain dropped to Middle Tier, position still debateable -Critical dropped to Middle Tier, maintains same position
  23. My activity has been on-and-off over the past seven years, but I am still one of the original members. Trust me, the forums were way different back then.
  24. Fun Fact: Anna and Elsa are not official Disney Princesses. They still have yet to have a coronation ceremony. Anyway, I'm biased given that I work for Disney, but I am not alone in the many people who are over Frozen. It's not that good of a film (Tangled is leagues better, and Princess and the Frog is leagues better than Tangled), and truth be told, if the cast wasn't so good, Frozen would suck. That being said, working with Anna and Elsa is one of my favorite shifts, so...
