  1. Out of those two, Falcon Knight. Frederick forces Cynthia into a physical role, so she wouldn't be able to take advantage of tomes. I'm not really sure what the cap differences are though. Overall, she would probably do better as a Paladin than either.

    Well I think there was a way to check, but I'll have to look it up. I think I'll keep Cynthia on a pegasus though to finish her up (capped stats and all :XD:)

    ETA: I did a quick check and I will have to work out Cynthia's skill set but I believe that I have a rough idea of what she will run when I am finished leveling her up :D:

  2. I got my 3DS for other reasons and got FEA because it was said to be a "good game". I put it down for almost two years before I picked it back up because I couldn't get past chapter 5. Then I was stuck on chapter 14? (Fort Sidger chapter) then I got stuck on a couple of chapters before Grima. The first time I beat Grima my team could barely kill him and it took me four or five turns just to do it. Now I'm down to beating Grima in two turns and can run through the game fairly quickly.

    I will put the game away for a little while once I do my M!MU playthrough though. I need to do some pokemon and I have a way to go with that D:

  3. Invisible Ties 23...gods that chapter...ugh and knowing I have to watch Chrom "die" is just ugh...worst cutscene ever :/

    I found Owain's paralogue to be a pain and Tiki's. But I don't hate them that much. The ones I hate would be the ones where I am likely to lose a few units in the process of trying to complete them...like Priam's paralogue as an example.

  4. Does Gerome even have an ideal dad? I see guys like Stahl/Virion who force him to use bows, and then Gregor/Vaike who don't help his accuracy (unless you settle for Lucky 7). I dunno if I've even ever seen an undisputedly favorable Gerome in the way Laurent as Gregor or Yarne has Virion/Stahl, and I've been following this thread for a while.

    EDIT, since we can't double post, does Nowi prefer Donnel or Ricken?

    I'm using Donnel in my current playthrough and I haven't got Nah yet. Donnel gives the pegasus knight tree which in turn gives galeforce, lancefaire, rally speed and rally movement. If you wanted you could give Nah armsthrift or a fighter line exclusive skill (counter/rally strength) and depending on the difficulty you are doing I think that counter might be a good skill from Donnel. Ricken gives a bit more in the skill pool to Nah, but based on what I know he doesn't give male exclusive skills and some of them Donnel can give as well.

    My main answer is that there is a lot of variables (and remember I am not that great at the game) and it will depend on how you play more than any other factor as to which father you chose.

  5. *Partial quote*

    Since you're grinding, it won't matter in the long run because Fred and Ricken can't get any skills their children can't get the same way. It's probably best to just pass down what's most convenient, which for me is always Discipline (faster Javelins = easier grinding), but again don't sweat it.

    I was thinking of that, but then again I want to make sure that the pair are good to be both mid units (ones I can afford to have in front without dying and give great support to whoever they end up getting paired with)

    Slighty off my current F!MU play through, if I am doing the M!MU side (with potentially no grinding depending on how the team goes) which skill would be the best to pass down at that point? ETA: With potentially M!MU Cynthia over Frederick!Cynthia depending if I want to actually let M!MU marry Sumia (I am indecisive about the pairing)

  6. *partial quote*

    My most hated Character: Maribelle because she's weak, the hardest character to level up and she's has a list of people to keep an eye on, just in case they fancy Lissa, I swear that's weird.

    Maribelle is only as hard to grow as you make her. I tend to easily get her to level 10 and class change her into a mage and go from there (I am guilty of over level grinding my healers :XD:). Yes she is a little protective, but when you don't have many frineds what do you do? How she reacts is only natural for one that wants to keep the only friend she has.

    I don't mind most of the cast for FEA. Though me liking the MU is slightly cheating :XD: Chrom is a likeable dork :D: I guess he just won me over. That and his outside of battle connections with MU...if F!MUs supports were different...they would really be better. I think if it was like M!Mu's supports (F!MU being protective of Chorm and then the S-Support being a reference to them forging a stong bond between them in the form of marriage) I would accept that :D: but no, we get horrible supports that annoy the hell out of me that I have to stomach everytime I go to marry Chrom to Lucina's best mother.

  7. If you want to use Laurent as a frontliner, give him Luna. He can pick it up himself, but might as well save the grinding. If he's a back-liner, then just pass whatever you want.

    Fred should pass Luna to Cynthia. Alternatively you could pass Aegis to protect her from bows, but I think Luna is more handy.

    I was thinking of passing down Aegis to Cynthia (because bows are annoying to pegasus knights) and I think that she can get Luna herself (through a lot of grinding). Or not that much depending on what Frederick gives her. I think that it is a toss up. Give Cynthia Luna (the lance) to use while she has Aegis or have it as a skill slot with Cynthia grinding to get it. Alternatively I could have Fred give her Aegis and Sumia give her Luna saving a huge amount of grinding. I am not sure if I want to finish Cynthia as a Dark Flier or a Falcon Knight. Does Frederick allow her to be a decent Falcon Knight or not really?

    So Luna is the best skill if Laurent is going to be up front then? I'll have a lot of grinding ahead for Ricken then :XD: I am thinking of Miriel passing down a troubadour related skill but I will have to have a look and see which one I will hand down (either valkyrie or troubadour, certainly not a rally skill bescuase I don't use rally strategies). I think Laurent might be a mixed unit...that is somewhere in the middle, not quite up front, but not in the back either. If that helps at all.

  8. What's the best skill to hand down to Ricken!Laurent from Ricken?

    I am not sure if I am benching him or not.

    Also what should Frederick give Cynthia?

    ETA: I'm doing a normal casual run so it might not matter as much but I would still like to know please :D:

  9. Chrom x F!MU {OTP}

    Lucina x M!MU

    M! Morgan X Noire

    Sumia x M!MU

    Emmeryn x M!MU

    Ricken x Miriel {OTP} (Plus they work well together)

    Vaike x Maribelle (love the don't judge a book by it's cover) {OTP}

    Olivia x Donnel

    Gregor x Nowi

    Donnel x Nowi

    Lon'qu x Lissa (a cannn pairing I bet :P: especially since Owain stated that his father was killed by archers...my mind connected the dots and all{OTP})

    Sumia x Frederick {OTP}

    Cynthia x Owain

    Henry x Tharja {OTP}

    Virion x Cherche {OTP}

    This is my main pairing list I suppose...the ones I use the most perhaps :D:

  10. Since Lucina commonly runs both Aether and Luna and Inigo usually just runs Luna (or Vengeance), Lucina typically has more to gain from Hero's high Skl than Inigo does, but there are also a lot more female units who like Hero supports than there are males who like them, so it somewhat balances out. Either one can make a good Hero, the trick is just to play to their strengths.

    If you want to use Robin as a Sorc, go ahead. Chrom is usually more suited to hyper-offensive pairs thanks to his Dual Strike+, though, so Sorc may not be making the most of his potential as a support. It'll still serve you well, though (as long as you stay away from Apotheosis- Sorcs don't work very well there).

    For Morgan-M? On nogrind playthroughs on higher difficulties, he's often used as a Warrior, which turns the final boss into a joke. Otherwise, since he's likely to be one of your better units you'll just want to emphasize mobility so he has a better chance of being able to be where you need him. Dark Knight is still one of the better options for this, but if you were fine with not using his Mag (he's likely to have a lot of it), you can make him a Wyvern Lord instead. Maybe give him a Bolt Axe, too (you get one from Renown, one from Cht.21's boss and can buy lots from Spotpass->FE8->L'arachel).

    Keep in mind, though, that with DLC it's really easy to just keep switching classes, so you might want to just try out different things and see what works best. It'll give you a much better idea of what you want than listening to me will, for sure.

    I see. I haven't really used Inigo so I am not familiar with his strengths. Lucina I am more familiar with because I tend not to bench her.

    It is a toss up between Sorcerer and Grandmaster. I think if I finish FMU as a Socerer it would give Validar some nice painful irony (being put down at his strongest while FMU has so much res he can only do 0 damage :XD:

    I will have to have a lot of fun with Dark Knight Morgan then (at least once) it should be fairly easy to get him to level up with good training (thank goodness for DLC :D:). Bolt Axes are the axes that rely on mag instead of str right?

  11. Here's an example on how units' strengths in various classes work:

    Lucina's Spd mod with your setup is +2, while Robin's is +0. Now imagine that you're choosing between Falcon Knight and Dark Flier for them. Falcon Knight has 44 base Spd, and Dark Flier has 42 base Spd. Lucina will have 46 Spd as a Falco and 44 as a DF, and Robin will have 44/42. In the end, Lucina has a difference of 2 Spd between the choices, and so does Robin- essentially, which character you use a certain class on doesn't change the difference between that class and any others. No matter what unit you run them on, there will be a difference of 2 Spd between Dark Flier and Falcon Knight.

    This is the same for all other differences between classes, including movement type and weapon access- making a switch from one class to another will never give you more or less depending on what unit you do it on. See what I'm saying?

    The one time where this stops being the case is when you have a specific amount of a certain stat you know you need for something. Say you've got an enemy with 41 Spd- in Robin's case, neither class will allow her to double it, but in Lucina's case, that +2 Spd from switching to Falcon Knight makes the difference between doubling and not doubling. The change between the classes is still the same, but if it allows you to do something you know about in advance, then it can be more or less important.

    This only really happens in Apotheosis and Lunatic(+), though. Stuff in Normal/Hard is generally too weak for you to come up with a plan for ahead of time, since it's much easier to just throw something at it until it dies, so you'll just have to pick classes based on what plays nicely with your skills and other unique assets (like Falchion).

    If you want more ideas for Lucina, Paladin is another mounted sword user, this time trading a bit of Spd/Skl and Bow access for lots of Def/Res. Wyvern Lord is also an option; it lacks swords but has a ton of Str/Def and other common Lucinas don't get it, so it's more or less unique. You could also try Hero, which is similar to Paladin but trades some Move for some Skl, which means more Aethers, Lunas, Ignises and Sols.

    I heard that Lucina was better as a hero than Inigo. Those are some pretty interesting sets. I am thinking of potentially finishing FMU as a Sorcerer and then getting Morgan (giving him Galeforce of course :D:) towards the end of the game perhaps.

    What are the most common Morgan sets? And are they any good?

  12. You can use multiple tabs of the same link Yoshi posted if you want to do side-by-side comparisons. Or if you navigate to the mods page + class caps page, you can do the manual work yourself (the former being a much, much simpler plan).

    That might just have to be the plan. Too bad that Morgan would be a lot easier to find a final class for...or just as difficult as his mother :/

  13. Rightful King doesn't help Dual Strike+ to activate more often...

    and I have a question, does support bonus from Dual Support+ affect the support unit as well?

    I thought it did :P: I guess even the best of us make mistakes :XD:

    I believe that Dual Support + does indeed affect the support unit as well :D:

  14. Thanks for answering.

    Here have some tea and cupcakes :):

    NJlghP4.jpg

    That looks pretty cute :D: the cupcakes I mean :D:

    I tend to use +Dual Strike on Chrom and Lucina (with Rightful to help it activate more often). Brave weapons are very useful if you want dual strikes all of the time as well if you want to save a skill slot and have them at weapon level A so they can use them :D:, otherwise what Czar_Yoshi said applies nicely, especially for Lucina.

  15. No.. You just need Chrom to visit the first left village and you will automatically recruit Laurent. I'm pretty sure about this because I just recruited him few days ago without using Miriel in that Paralogue.

    I tried with Chrom and Laurent didn't tag along at all. Miriel was needed to talk to him (but I could be wrong of course :/) based on what I do remember of going through the chapter myself...which is vague at best.
