  1. Just because he's been around and producing for longer hardly makes Gates "far and away better" than Gronk.

In roughly 1/3 the total games (65 to 179,) Gronk has 55 total TDs to AG's 99. With another 5 years of healthy production, Gronk should exceed AG's statistics. Hell, Gronk has already had a season that exceeds AG's best year in terms of receiving yards/receiving TDs.

Antonio Gates is an obvious Hall of Fame-r, as obvious as it gets. But Gronk has proved capable of dominating almost any game he's healthy for, and is better than AG was in his prime

EDIT: I know I caught some flak for slightly calling out Russell Wilson's faith a little while back, but can you all please just read his comments about God and dating Ciara? The dude is a LITTLE off and he's about to be paid a lot of money

  2. Honestly, Ana, I find it HILARIOUS you don't find yourself to be biased when half of your posts are you celebrating random af awards or records set by some Steelers offensive player. Like, I'm glad you're happy for your gr8 offense, but they fell apart when one player was injured. Who really cares when they didn't make it past the first round of the playoffs?

You don't see me constantly posting about the offensive records that Gronk has thrashed or is on pace to set. I imagine that would get slightly annoying after a while, ya?

  3. If you actually think that deflated balls were a main reason for last year's Super Bowl run, well, I'ma put it as mildly as possible and say you're silly.

EDIT: Also, Ana, they didn't have any evidence of him punching her? We already knew that Ray Rice knocked her out before the video came out. Did you think he knocked her out in a way that merited a 2-game suspension? lol

  4. Roger Goodell can lick my ass. 4 games for not cooperating with an investigation one year after giving a player who knocked out his fiancee half that? I honestly believe the suspension will be reduced upon appeal but the fine and loss of draft picks baffles me. If this is a Tom-only incident then why punish the entire franchise so severely?

The Falcons fucking PIPED NOISE INTO THEIR GODDAMN DOME and didn't even lose a 4th round pick let alone a 1st round pick (not sure what the point of losing a 4th round pick in 2017 was to be quite honest but whatever works for you Rog.) THAT is something that affects the game, and we don't even know how many times the Falcons did it because the NFL had no incentive to hire an investigative team to diddle themselves for 3 fucking months and release a 300 page pile of shit.

Well this at least adds a little more intrigue to next season, I guess.

  5. Jay was pretty underwhelming last season. I think the most concerning part of last season was that he seemed to regress as the season went on despite having talent around him on offense and a quality offensive mind like Trestman.

Obviously it's hard to win games with a defense like the one Chicago rolled out on a weekly basis, but Cutler deserved his benching IMO. My favorite part of that whole saga was his OC completely throwing Cutler under the bus WRT his contract.

  6. I also believe it was done to reduce the difficulty. Enemies in FE7 are mostly bad, and not having to worry about enemies with effective weaponry blicking your units makes the game much easier. Of course, it also means weapons like the Longsword and Heavy Spear are more useful as novelties than actual weaponry.

Ironically enough, FE8 returning to the 3x bonus made that game even easier than FE7 due to the enemies being even worse AND effective weaponry being incredibly abundant/OP for the player. Hell, base!Ephraim can absolutely slaughter Cavs/Knights for most of the game with Reginleif (or however you spell it)

And then you consider that an entire class has 3x might against almost all endgame enemies... yeah.

  7. It sucks for the Jags quite a bit. Their defense was actually pretty good last season, and I had them pegged for much larger things (contingent on Blake Bortles improving, of course.) They've done a much better job upgrading the roster compared to a team like the Titans. Losing Fowler hurts a lot, but I truly believe they have the players necessary to make some noise in a very tough conference.

  8. Tyrod is one of the QBs in the league that has impressive athleticism but can't really pass the ball. Hell, he was a below average passer in college, let alone the NFL. I'd say Cassel has the best chance to start. He doesn't do anything incredibly well but can certainly manage a run-heavy offense. EJ hasn't been too great thus far but I suppose he has an outside chance of starting if he has an impressive preseason. If Tyrod is starting for your team you're in a lot of trouble

  9. The Patriot's O-line was still in flux, which caused the offense to accomplish literally nothing. Tom Brady is one of the best QBs in the league at stepping up in the pocket away from edge pressure. However, he struggles more than most with interior pressure, and has a tendency to just clutch the ball and hit the deck when there's pressure in his face.

The defense also was incapable of covering TEs for most of last season, and Travis Kelce had a great game. Even Dwayne Bowe had a few big catches against Revis. Combine that with a run defense that was basically made of paper and you have an abomination of a game like the one last season.

  10. Alex Smith is partly to blame as well. Tom Brady this past year rarely attempted any deep throws, but even he had some impressive intermediate-deep throws (my favorite of which was the frozen-rope 20 yard dime to LaFell to win the game against the Ravens.)

In contrast, you hardly ever see Alex Smith throw deep. There will be a lot of pressure on him this upcoming season now that the Chiefs have brought in legitimate WRs. I honestly wouldn't be surprised to see KC win the AFC West this year though.

  11. The problem is Pittsburgh's defensive front isn't exactly scary looking (not to say it'll be terrible, but this year an "average" d-front puts them in the bottom 3 in the AFC, without a doubt.) If the secondary is suspect, a powerful front 7 that gets consistent pressure can provide a little relief. The Steelers don't seem to have any true difference makers in their front 7.

It's certainly nice when your team can dominate the league offensively. But if you don't have a defensive front that can at least somewhat control the game it becomes incredibly difficult to win a championship.

  12. You need to be able to handle criticism about your team a little better, Ana. My comment was made in jest (not-nice things is almost ambiguous enough for the NFL to use in its reports!) I believe the game will be close if Tom is suspended, but the fact that the Steelers have one of the weaker defenses compared to the rest of the schedule is a huge boon to the Patriots' chances of winning.

  13. I'd argue that's a decent rough estimate. The odds of Jaffar dodging only 1 out of the 2 swordreavers are pretty good given the ~60 displayed hit for each (he's usually facing two in one EP if I'm recalling correctly)

If he dodges the rest of the attacks (he can probably still tank one mage or archer) he'll be above healing HP and dive headlong into a crowd of enemies without healing. The two Swordreavers are what do the most damage to Jaffar on the initial EP
