My sincerest condolences to the victims of this terrible crime, and to you two as well @DMan64 and @Anacybele, you guys must be having it pretty rough right now living through it. It unfortunate to say that mass shootings are a multi faceted issue with many contributing factors and no easy solution. Our current gun laws need to be much more strictly enforced with new ones possibly introduced, we need more thorough background checks for the purchase of firearms, we need to take better care of the mentally unstable, we need crack down on black market sales of powerful weapons, and the list just keeps growing and growing. As for the controversial response of our president, I think it's unfair to say we need armed guards protecting our Churches/Synagogues/Mosques. Our places of worship are supposed to be places of peace and unity, the presence of an armed guards conflicts with that mission, driving people away rather than welcoming them in. At least that's how I see things as a lifelong Roman Catholic. But I wouldn't dwell on the president too much, what matters is that we learn from this tragedy and do what we can to prevent it from happening again.

I suppose that toning down the Fan would take away a lot of the charm. Let's just cross our fingers and hope for the best for now.

As of right now there as been no confirmation of the Fan's return. It was probably because it was a stupidly strong Item that got it cut from Smash 4, but hey, if they're working to re-balance it I'm all in.

Today I had the realization that WOW it's already the last week week of October! Time sure does fly. We're now only a little over a month away from the release of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate so I though it would be fun to start a forum to share our collective excitement with a topic of the week format. So I'll change the topic of discussion every week on Monday(since I'm starting this on a Monday) up until the release of the game on December 7th. Week One - Items! Like 'em or not Items have become a big part of Smash Bros' identity. So which Items are you most excited for in Smash Ultimate? (Excluding Assist Trophies and Pokemon for next week) My picks for the most exiting Items are the Killing Edge because it's the first ever Fire Emblem Item, Fake Smash Ball for being an awesome concept, Banana Gun because it's hilarious, Super Launch Star for being a nice call back to my personal favorite Mario game, and The Home-Run Bat for being my favorite staple Item in the Smash Bros series.

I'm a favoritism player in Smash Bros., which is weird because in most other fighting games I'll avoid play styles I wouldn't enjoy playing. I guess it's because Smash is a lot easier to play than most other fighting games.

Nintendo obviously couldn't get rid of it entirely, but they could still be trying to make sure it doesn't keep spreading a the very least. I know that sounds like a futile pursuit, but I would still expect some kind of response from Nintendo even if such a response is seemingly meaningless if we're assuming the leak is real. At this point, given the evidence, I'd say this the most reasonable stance to take on the subject if you want to maintain an open mind going forward. With 6 highly requested/speculated characters in one leak I wouldn't be surprised if at least one or two of them are actually in the game.

I have a feeling it was just a publicity stunt to make Sony look bad during the Minecraft/Fortnite cross-play controversy, taking advantage of the situation as a chance to get a head of their mutual competitor. I'm not sure that's necessarily the start of a massive first-party collaboration project. While some could argue cross-play is a pretty big deal, but I don't think it automatically means that Banjo is coming Smash Bros. and that Samus will make a cameo in Halo: Infinite.

I'm on Team Fake for two reason: 1. Sakurai stated that he got trigger happy with character reveals during the Smash Bros. Direct and plans to slow down the rate the announcements occur because he's run out of content to show frequently. With this logic in mind I think this leak has WAY too many characters to be consistent with Sakurai's statement, at least in my opinion. 2. When the ERSB leak happened for the last game, Nintendo went into full damage control mode trying to take down videos containing the leaked gameplay as fast as they could catch them. As far as I can tell, Nintendo has not been doing the same to "The Grinch Leak" which to me doesn't make sense because if it was real, I would expect a similar if not identical response from the big N.

I'm sure their range will be toned down from Shadows of Valentia, but it's my guess that the range 1 attack was added to compensate.
