  1. Appologies: Fsr I read the OP as feeding 3xp kills to corn. No judgement here. Thread is no longer a formal guide so we're in the land of the purely subjective and I've got no beef with any opinion presented as such. Looking forward to the adventures of dodgehextank. That said... You're overthinking this. Dead things deal 0 damage. The brave axe is normaly weilded by Be's (giant vat of Hp) or WL's (Bulky as sin) and anything (yes anything, including final taco) it touches evaporates instantly. They just have so much stack and str by 3rd shop that enemy bulk does not matter. Similar principals apply to lightning vs low/middling res targets (or just anything really if a LaD Sorc is slinging it). ----------------------------------- Advise nobody asked for: For the build you want MN!Silias is no questions asked stronger than MN!Corn for the entire game (Minus the part where nothing he touches survives). The only reason to care about Corn is a +str single proc DF kill in 28 and frankly H!Silias can just Brave Sword that shit with a dragon S noproc (+14 stack+BeCorn). Or just make a +12 Percy before ch27 and hand him a heart seal, an Edrop and the brave axe, noproc dead and done. Not really relevant for this run but give it a try sometime.
  2. I'd just remove the guide part entirely. There is a lot of straight up misinformation in this. Just in the corn build. Your preferences are your preferences so my input here outside of the following proof-of-thing will not exist. Example, +def mechanist will have more def than enemies do atk so the 1-2 is wasted by... nothing attacking Corn and hunting the more vulnerable army members If you want a buff build that can still pull aggro go +hp. This also gives a +str statue. This also deals less damage than a raw stack build as golemsbane only doubles weapon MT, with a light forged bow this is equivilant to a +10 kinshi without flight. This is chip damage. Lightning (3 copies) the brave axe (1 copy), and the bolt axe (2 copies) all instablick ch23 rocks. Finnaly Exp in shared route does not matter. Corn will double with tonics and pairup in ch7 and will ohko. With exp decay the gap in a fully ground up Corn and a quick win Corn is less than 20 xp going into ch8. The same applies to firstserve. Also Corrin does not matter. That said I look forward to the playthrough. Edit: A more reliable turn 1 setup in ch3 is Corn leading Jakob in attack stance. Lowers miss chance and has better exp distribution. Also slightly faster.
  3. I'm that guy. Opinion unchanged. (Man I really needed two whole books about Sam the porker porkin a lady and Danny forgetting that she has actual dragons on tap because... reasons? This really advanced the deep politically charged and original plot of "Fire dragons vs Ice people", rightful queen bones the rightful king! Totally could not have been explored and resolved in like, two conversations. With more depth and development. Three pages max. In large font.). Show is still good and has noticably improved since it departed from the novels. ---------------------------------- To answer your direct question. Money talks, and Echoes did extremely well in terms of sales, Hero's is a cash cow, and with the slew of new content (both main FE and crossover/colab) on the way all aimed at different segments of the market it's hard to call fates anything less than a resounding success as a game, a marketing tool, and as a proof of concept. Are there things I dislike or disagree with? Yes but those bits of content were not aimed at me and can safely be ignored. Also I enjoyed the last jedi (and what disney has done with the franchise thus far overall). Still holding out for some of the sicker EU things before I blow my fanboy load but fun movies are fun. There was nothing bittersweet about it...
  4. Keatons sick strat is "pair up bot" in CQ. He's totally reliant on stone boosts to make his stats not ass and is a 1-1 infantry dude with no stack or utility as a lead. ------------------------------- Kaze is also a decent early dude (his damage falls off midgame w/o a silias A+ or a strong S but worst case he's an early promo MN pairup). If you're going captureless pick up Utility!Shigure or do a 3 level dip on Selena for a full set of rallies.
  5. For a strong setup? Just snag 4 early males and roll wifu's + kids +freestaves +obligitory firstservxcorn. Following this it really does not matter who you use, stack n stomp is happening. On anything but a first playthrough the freedom of usage is real. For weak but cute... Harem strats~
  6. What killed the best selling game(s)? Nothing.
  7. Prepare to be underwhelemed lol. (Golemsbane is just WMtx2 and Midori has ass damage until x/15, her damage after that is stellar but... this aint happening before stairs) If you actually want to blick golems just airdrop lightning sorc/Stack a brave axe/Attack stance with bolt axe. It's always worth using niles until ch23 tbh, just for rallyman and some Srank stave maids. Even with 0 str procs. Use the lunge captures early if you grab em, actual entrap stave > jank entrap stave.
  8. The main flaws in CQ were a need to sell revelations, a need to sell birthright, and the need to maintain continuity with the other paths. The main flaw in BR is that every scene is deus ex anime with... no real driving force past that. The main flaw in rev is everything. Of the three CQ is the only one with any real chance at a plot driven by human interaction between compelling characters once the overlap is removed. My ulterior motivation is of course making CQ at least 17 chapters longer. (Split route + unshared maps from BR/Rev)
  9. Late reply: At equal level and skill setups nhorble will always outpreform hoshble in combat regardless of boon/bane/talent/supports/skills. If you want staves go for a class that gets A/S staves. Or falco.
  10. Optimizing Corrins exp doesn't matter much here because ch7. Still... Turn 1: Dual strike both nerds by the start with a dance and leave a knife user in Cammys tome range. Wall out the cav with mooks and have Ryoma blick Leo from the north. Ep Xander attacks ryoma and ideally he stays out of Elise's heal rage. Cav and Cammy bonk for no real gain. Turn 2: Kill the cav with some other nerd. Corn dual strikes Cam off taco, dance, pair onto hinoka, swap to corn between Ryoma and Xander, pass Hinoka to Ryoma, kill xander with Corn+ryoma DS. Ez.
  11. This is kinda how fire emblem (and thus fe advice) has worked from day one. Fates (mostly cq) just makes the setup completely counterintuitive. So it gets discussed. Every. Other. Topic. That aint me yo. That's just "how the game do". Personally I do not give a good god damn how anyone plays or what they use for fun. There is just a clear difference in (using your example) "SM Odin has a kickass coat and I really like the Sam animations" vs "SM Odin something something, anecdotal gameplay, bad logic, flawed math". Edit becase I could not resist: Stat!Felecia gets used early in a lot of her supportive builds, namely aurabot, and offers strong 1-2 and 8 move at a time when tonics/pairup still negate the frailty of the class. Dwyer doesn't exist so it's only Felecia/Corn/mozu competing for the first two HS. TL;DR: Provided the argument or opinion is built on a solid understanding of the games mechanics there's nothing to hate on. Everyone has a different threshold of risk/reward, cost/benifit, and fun/bored. ---------------------------------- Cammilia's got some great euginics? I do have one question about her outfit though. Why the damn cat ear crown? We already have a BDSM stripper yandere mother figure on a dragon. Was the cat fetish really nessecary?
  12. Ok. Every single thing on that post is objectively wrong. All of it. Stop.
  13. xl17 is low for ch14 BR. Your mainstays are promoted by then and you're in the middle of a long slew of prepromoted goodies and kids. Killing Groans can be done with guage abuse on just about any strong unit. Killing 2 things max a turn is low exp when your mainstays kill 20. High exp kills go to the big boys to keep on facerollin. Point blank does nothing meaningful, it's a DLC walled waste of a skillslot. Losing hp is often a buff in this game.
  14. TL:DR Levant is a troll who spews dumbshit comments that a large portion of this community is brickbrained enough to agree with, and I'm a troll who spews smartshit knowledge drops in an intentionally missleading or obtuse manner to piss off the brickbrains.
  15. You're pretty much firing the cannon every turn. Or the rest of the army is so far ahead of tonka tough that there's no combat to be found. Didn't bother reading past that bit.
  16. The complaint was that staves and heartseeker are somehow hard to use, killing one dude with one weapon is hard, and how 100% disp hit was not enough because Levant. Be/WL!Camilia is obviously out despite this thread being all about her because Kotaro can 1% crit into a full guard guage for non-lethal damage on the last action of the map. Or she could miss and you'd need to use of of your other 13 units to finish him off. 20/5 Sniper gets CBlow and probably has A Wta on GameOfNinjaThrones so you're looking at well over 100% disp hit off that alone. The units mentioned will also have enough buffed speed to double at 20/5 without pairup and have enough luck to 0 out the bosses crit. It's like the most niche thing ever as kinshi is just better than Sniper on every single map including 17, but hey, Levant logic.
  17. Short and sweet reply. I have no interest in discussing the primary plot of fates in a serious or cannonical manner. ----------------------------------- The bit that was here would probably make somone with thin skin cry. I'll be nice and remove it. TL;DR: There is nothing to disscuss in the main plot if you're taking it seriously. Black and white hosh good nhir bad cut to black done. There is nothing else. It's completely one dimensional, and will ignore anything and everything in the name of hammering home this point. For this and reasons posted on the thing you bloody quoted (scroll down another inch) it's far more entertaining to infer information indirectly filling in the gaps, and then bullshit about it. Or just discuss the actual side interactions and minor bits of world building that are legitimately good and open to discussion in many cases.
  18. Edit: I guess "Bow is complicated" does explain postend Camilia....
  19. That's a pretty good summation for "The Misfits" origins. Not certain I want Helena and Gray Waves in the same sentance yo.
  20. I mean, just gonna throw this out there. Revelations is the most humane path for all of us because Azura jumps off a cliff and dies in ch6 never to sing "oceans gray waves" again. Not sure decision paralyisis is really a moral choice. --------------------------- Edit: So as an actual semi-serious defense of Xander. He threatens/tries to kill you 3 times. Once when you refuse to kill a hostile nations ninja and a member of a tribe of crazy fucks who try to be Oni of all the batshit things you could be who were clearly Not In Hoshido for their capture (magic barrier). Not gonna lie. A quick death is fuckin merciful and I'd cut their throats without a thought in that culture. The only logical reason for them being there anyone could possibly know was "kill my family with shit covered rusty knives and a blut object". The second time was when Cornbread activle tries to commit patricide in a neutal nation. Third time is when you've killed most of Nhor including Hans and Iago and are knock knockin on the front door of his home. Yeah I'd totally kill the shit out of that traitorous fuck Corrin here. With waaaay less hesitation. ---------------------------- Past that the whole Elise death... makes no sense. Xanders actions are the most sane and logical part of that whole cluster. "Giant killin boner" makes way more sense than the following. You're pretty much captured because... reasons??? Then for some reason, your fully armed and armored army is invited to stand and watch you die. For.... reasons? Then, lets consider this is a room presumably full of people who know Elise so her being fully mobile during this was... hugely out of character for everyone, and the fucksforsaken Nhorian princesses are just left chillin in the middle of a group of armed to the teeth murdery murdering hoshidians so that Elise can suicidedive. Finally.. She got her lungs cut out by a bastard sword that shoots actual laser beams so how in the name of basic human anatomy can she SPEAK at all? Stopping here for the sake of brevity and sanity, but there is so many other things comedicly fucked here. When held under any level of scrutiny the rest of the game(s) are made of a similar brand of contrived bullshit. Ch26 BR is just far and above the most rediculous scenario. --------------------- In short. When asked my view of fates plot/morality my flat answer is. No. Nope. Nuh-Uh. Calling all the bulshit. Corrin clearly fell off the tower in Ch1 and the rest of fates is the dieing dream of an extremely sheltered child, or it's made some dude who writes japan cartoons like naruto for kids. Either way it's impossible to take seriously. (Still proud Nhorscum for life yo)
  21. A lot of folks treat Cornbread and Robin as a self insert protags when they're really just an extremely credulous stripper thighed dragon waifu and some Sue in an edgy coat. When given 3rd person prespective and treated as a self insert, awakenings plot is more consistant with the choices of an idealized self.
  22. Did you just go through a severly tounge in cheek post to pick out every single joke/humerous observation/logical jump and argue it based on some sort of "fates cannon bible" (pretty sure this isn't a thing). Nope. Nope. Nope. Nope. Nope.
