  1. Ok, thanks for talking me out of this. I finished watching some people's let's plays of Revelation, and yeah I would have been pretty upset if I paid money for that abysmal story line and gimmick maps.
  2. That one death in Awakening is pretty much better written than most of the ones in Fates besides possibly the prologue one that sets things in motion. The ones in Fates feel shoehorned.
  3. A long time ago, before downloading was fast, probably back in the times of the First Dragons, additional game routes that required the base game was sold as separate boxes, and were called "expansion packs." They included complete campaigns, additional characters, and new things, exactly the kind of content you would have gotten by buying additional Fire Emblem Fates routes, and their differences in cost relative to their base games were also just about the same as additional routes were to Birthright or Conquest. Nintendo would have stepped on fewer toes if they referred to them as "expansions," instead of "games." Literally that is the only difference their purchase setup has with the "old ways." If the additional purchase requires already owning the game, whether out of necessity or as a paywall, then it should not be referred to as a game by itself. Red Dead Redemption didn't call Undead Nightmare a "game" either, in contrast Far Cry 3 could call Blood Dragon a game, because it worked by itself. Anyway, you were right about Silas, I didn't need him for Conquest Lunatic either. His personal skill turns me off. I might try him being a ninja now though, now that it's working out so well for you.
  4. I used rescued Charlotte to OHKO the final boss of conquest. This is on a lunatic classic run without DLC's and only Corrin being married. I had Benny with replica team up with her and Corrin the map before, to gain enough experience to use a single eternal seal on Charlotte. Then in the endgame I just reclassed enough people to pull off the rescue trick. I think I used strategist Leo for one of them. I think the only grinding I did outside the main chapters was for supports at castles, obviously I had no children levels to grind in. It felt way too cheesy, I kind of want to go back and try to beat the level without any rescues.
  5. I got 2 dark mage daughters with opportunist and haven't decided what to do with them, I guess I'll be watching this thread carefully for some fun ideas.
  6. It might be because Anankos literally has a permanent gag in his mouth made of his eyeballs. Anankos, the Silent Dragon, doesn't even have dialogue with anyone after transforming, IIRC. This isn't something that the Intelligent Systems did either. According to the wiki Anankos is an "invisible demon dragon" in Japanese. That may allude to his method of influencing the world as well as his minions being invisible, but it actually has no bearing on Anankos's physical design when it is supposed to be the class name. If the translation team did this on purpose then I think it is incredibly clever. They managed to make it still allude to how Anankos operates and his minions' behavior as the original name does, except now it also alludes to the curse upon the knowledge of the Kingdom of Valla, his imprisonment in solitude, AND his design, when they could have easily just left it alone as "invisible dragon" the same way they left alone calling Lilith a "bird." If only the rest of the game is this clever...
  7. LOL they made the DLC easier than the main game? Well nevermind then! Thanks for the answer.
  8. Is Revelation worth the asking price of half a game if all I care about is challenge and filling the plot holes left behind by Conquest? How much harder is Revelation than Conquest?
  9. How do I get this guy without reloading a safe because I don't have Entrap?
  10. It's also hard to help bring down your family member. Even in the real world you have people who can't help but protect their criminal relatives, or at least cannot bring themselves to do anything to help catch them. Add that to the fact that all of the Nohrian royal mothers pretty much treated the prince and princesses worse than Garon did, and it is easy to understand why they all don't have the heart to bring him down. Despite his cruelty he is still the closest thing to a parent they have.
  11. Why isn't Takumi fighting anybody during the "Mother" prologue? He asked what Corrin transformed into and then just fucked off after Ryoma told him. Edit: Then he blames Corrin. Then he wanted Corrin to leave. Then at chapter 23 he shouts at Corrin for leaving. WTF?
  12. Least favorite are the ninjas. They got rid of those fucking Narutard forehead protectors from the swordmasters last game and gave it to them. Those things weren't ever real headgear, nor are they practical. I can't take them seriously when they look like weeaboos. I suppose I should be thankful they don't run with their hands behind them in their animations.
  13. Why can't we learn the spell Nyx used to massacre her entire village? It's not like we would be using it for fun like she did, it's not fair in the first place that we are always outnumbered. If Garon sent Xander, Camilla, and Leo out on their respective missions regularly, but Corrin specifically is sent out without his own army as an unusual case, then how come when Xander, Camilla, and Leo join you, they don't get to combine their regular armies with yours, only their retainers? Oh, they only talk about honor. They had just about zero honor in a war. You are going to love reading about their MO in World War II. Everyone knows about Nanking, but that's just one of the many ways Japan lacked honor. For example, their navy issued a standing order for all captured prisoners to be killed, which is an international naval war crime, so this Japanese captain sank a Dutch merchant ship, took 100+ people aboard, beheaded some, gunned down others, and when he got bored he tied the rest to the outside of his submarine before diving back down. Then when Britain called them out for committing a war crime, Japan denied doing it, and the captain got a promotion for his effort. Oh, and one of those prisoners was a woman, so that was nice. The captain ended up committing suicide when Japan surrendered, his crew said it was because he knew he would undoubtedly be in a front seat for the international war crime tribunal afterwards, because he didn't do this to just one ship, he kept doing it to other ships. So they actively attacked the defenseless, lied about it, and then didn't have the guts to face the consequences. That's at least 3 different ways they were dishonorable in regards to one single incident.
  14. Benny reminds me of Norris from Gundam 08th MS team. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q4kEuNfbTWc Their enemies probably react the same way too. "They only sent one unit? I'm a little offended."
  15. Is there any tricks to deal with the people above the wall in chapter 23 (edit: Conquest) or does everyone just send Benny in there to bait them?
  16. The Iago one really bugs me. In Conquest he is actually very capable at his job. Sure, he hates you, but he knows what needs to be done. A prince found out he was raised as an infiltration tool but comes back anyway? Iago is right to not trust the prince until he proves his loyalty. Everyone contaminated the trial results by interfering? Iago is right to blow the whistle. Groans of increasing discomfort? Iago correctly guessed immediately that the singer did it! The prince suddenly had an apparent change of heart and begins to understand your way? Iago is being fair when he rewards Corrin with a contribution to his war chest. But the king suddenly acted like he was on meth and then afterwards he confides in you that he wants one of his princes to suffer for the sake of God? Oh that's completely normal...
  17. Why can't I just activate Dragon Fang at will if I could already do it without surprising myself against Hans in a cutscene? How come fodder enemies have weapons a royal army can't buy? Why do human enemies get shapeshifter skills? Why is my army hosting stores in my own dimension? Why do I have to spend money to buy shit I already own in my own castle? Why doesn't Lilith's dragon form actually look like a bird? Couldn't they just translate it into lizard to make it make more sense? Can Benny and Charlotte really just leave their border posts to join your squad, just like that? You would think there would be a proper procedure to follow for joining a royal's little militia. It didn't make sense that Camilla would discourage you from sparing Shura either. Really? Beruka is RIGHT THERE, your favorite retainer whom you spared. Same goes for Selena saying it was expected of Odin to become a dark mage because of her mother. She has issues with following in her own mother's footsteps, it's hypocritical to say that to Odin. Why isn't Iago suspecting something is afoot the entire rest of the game after Garon mumbled religious nut nonsense at a ceiling relief, if he respects, cares, and is loyal to Garon so much and is the royal TACTICAL advisor so that it's safe to assume he isn't an idiot? Why would Corrin want to wield a Ganglari after the prologue? How would the Ganglari even be made available?
  18. "Remember to take breaks!" Don't just do the chapters. Go fight at castles so that you get weapon drops in your own castle, then use the forge on them.
  19. "Meh" is really all I can say about both of them, or about lots of Hoshidan classes, rather. Feudal Japanese anime characters are a dime a dozen. Oni girls are nothing new either.
  20. Both Lazlow and Selena bore me. They don't look bad but just too plain, and too similar to their original classes when compared to what happened to Odin. I am also disappointed by Peri's loss of unique armor after promoting. It just makes the panties promotion even less sensible, for she previously had pants. I don't think this happens to Arthur, thank god. Ironically, it actually is before the events of the game. Beruka said as much.
  21. I got a Nohr Noble Corrin who unlocks samurai with heart seal. His skills are trample, swordfaire, heartseeker, future sight, and renewal, and he probably has strength boon and magic bane, can't remember. I think the throne is still empty. 13774-19565 10903-88284. Hope that helps.
  22. Thanks, I think I will leave him as pair up fodder and reset the chapter so others can get the exp then. Luckily he has replicate already so he can give +1 movement to Azura and someone else.
  23. Is Conquest Odin worth using in any way whatsoever? I'm in chapter 23, I got him to consistently have 25+ crit rate and yet he never crits. Meanwhile Kaze does it casually at a modest 18%. I can't even level Odin up, because he can't ever get any kills, because he never crits. I always needed someone else to mop up for him, snatching the exp...
