  1. Same. As for me: Any Corrin X his siblings It was bound to come up sooner or later, but that's still kinda creepy, especially with the Hoshidan siblings considering that (s)he thought that they were his/her real siblings. This is only allowed in hentai and cutesy anime like Oreimo. >.< Elise X Ryoma(or any big, bulky dude) I'm doing Elise X Ryoma cause I'm a dirty bastard, but it's still kinda unsettling when you think about a possibly 14-year-old girl in an intimate relationship with some huge mofo. Same can be applied to Sakura to T. Leo X Nyx That C-Support. WTF Nyx. That S-Support. WTF Leo. Elise X Odin Not really a weird pairing, but I wouldn't really see them as a couple, but rather good friends. Peri X Anyone If you piss her off, she may kill you.
  2. To be completely honest, I actually enjoyed this one a lot, and I actually don't that Conquest's story is like the worse thing ever in FE. Especially the parts with the Let's Play. Though, if I may ask, is there a unit playable unit that you like as character on CQ, besides capture units? Possibly, not Niles? No offense to Niles, but he and Takumi gets put on silver pedestal so much compared to the other CQ cast.
  3. Can you tell me where to find that? I wanna see this.
  4. Long post incoming! Okay... I actually have two lord ideas. The general concept is that both are lords of different kingdom statuses. One kingdom is the capital of a well known continent that has an allegiance of the founding nations make the important decisions of each. The other is a small, up coming kingdom that's still developing it's culture and not on the map as a well known nation. Both lords will be responsible for leading and managing an army. The lord of the capital nation is assigned as a leader of a small army to learn how to lead and to learn about how different people of different statuses of class behaves and how to relate to them. The lord is a good fighter taught by said lord's father, and very laid back, barely acting like a noble at all. The lord never really focuses on learning leadership and honestly doesn't want to even lead the nation, because the lord is afraid of the change that might happen when that time comes. The lord doesn't want to be a commander, but her parents stay firm with they're decision. As the journey progresses and the lord meets more people, the lord realizes the importance of protecting these people and the continent. and grows bond with the soldiers that are recruited/joins the lord from the start. This lord is a female who, although is a very good fighter story wise, starts out kinda weak. She mainly uses an axe, but after the game progresses a little, she can use swords, and uses lances when she promotes. Her personal axe will be good against horse and armor units, but she won't get it till the story progresses in terms of recruiting new units. The legendary axe that she gets is a special axe linked with other legendary weapons that other units can use. In terms of stats, she'll have good HP and skill, okay defense, low strength(though her starting strength is good) and speed, bad luck and resistance, and no magic growth. The lord of the growing nation decides to lead the nation's main army in order to prepare for conquistadors who might try to take the small growing land. and is the opposite gender of the great continent's capital noble. As a fighter, he's self taught, only going by from what he sees from the neighboring large continent's visiting soldiers who sends aid and funds to the growing nation. As a person, he's actually a very hostile and bitter person who shows no signs of humility and downright insults others who he thinks outclasses him and makes a mistake. Because of this, his troops start to tire of his behavior, and they stop treating him as their commander altogether. They instead treat the Jeigan character as the commander instead. Due to this, he decides to try and change how he acts and talks to people, with some units that didn't hate him guiding him. He then grows into a sarcastic, blunt leader who knows when he's gone too far. As a unit, he's like the female, but with a few differences. His main weapon is a lance, and after the game game progresses a little, he can use staffs, and when he promotes he can use Dark tomes. His personal lance will be good against any mage unit. Like the female lord, he doesn't get it until the story progresses for sometime, but he gets his weapon even later then the female lord. His legendary will be a more modified version of his personal. In terms of stats, he'll have good HP, resistance, and speed, okay magic and slightly lower strength than his magic, low luck, and bad skill and defense. [spoiler=for a bonus]The lords' kids will have the same gender of said lord. The child of the female lord isn't as out there as her mother. She's actually rather timid, but isn't afraid to help others as well as give advice. As a unit, she starts off as a staff user, but gets able to use swords later on, and gets a flying mount when she promotes. At a base, her HP, skill, and defense is lower than her mother's, but her magic and luck are greatly higher, and her speed and resistance are slightly higher. She share's her mother's strength growths, though. The child of the male lord isn't super blunt like his father, but he does give out good criticism. He doesn't have any good common sense, however. As a unit, he starts off using Dark magic, but gets able to use Light magic later on, and uses Anima magic and a grounded mount when he promotes. At a base, his HP, speed, and resistance will be lower than his father's, but his skill is greatly higher, and his defense and luck are slightly higher. He shares his father's strength and magic growths, though.
  5. @OP Izana's a playable unit in both paths. I think he should say #37. I swear we can make a drinking game with how many things that Fates did wrong story and character wise, but I don't want a bunch of people dying from alcohol poisoning. But anyways: 33: Benny He's a cute guy, with a badass design I'll admit. Haven't used him like... at all, but I can admit that looks like a good unit base wise and PS wise. 34: Arthur I actually love it when culture troupes are made into one character, and done well, and Arthur does the job well. For one, I like how he actually looks like a western cartoon action hero. It showcases a good understanding of multiple styles and creativity. His flamboyant personalty is also amusing. As a unit, he's hard to use because of that luck stat and that personal skill. He usually gets benched after I get Charlotte or make Beruka into a Fighter. 34.5: Iago He looks cool, has a cool voice, but he's a little bitch. That's all. 35: Hisame Not much to say. He has a simple design, but I've never actually gotten him, yet. 36: Camilla All hail the queen of fanservice... But to be serious, I honestly don't think that Camilla is as terrible as others sought her out to be, in everything. I actually like her design, for one thing. If it wasn't for her bottom area other than side flaps, I'd think that her design wouldn't come close to being fanservice. The top area shows cleavage, but that's all. The plating and color scheme of her top is very nice. Also if it wasn't for those two cutscenes(the one when you first fight her and when you bump into her after you beat Conquest) she wouldn't get all of this flak for just being there for fanservice. In terms of character, I think that she's actually good to an extent. I actually find the M!Corrin/Camilla and the Silas/Camilla Support borderline hilarious. Her support with Niles is also a good one. The Yandere sections tho... don't really like them, but don't really hate them. Like that scene that like 80% of the people quoted and responded to from Conquest after one person brought it up, I'll admit that was stupid and possibly the worst of all Camilla's(and Hinoka's) moments. I get the whole wanting to protect your family due to her backstory, but the Yandere was unnecessary, imo. Other than that, she's not that bad and not really super infuriating, imo. Unit wise I don't need to say anything because unless you're doing a playthrough where you don't use pre promotes, why would not want to use her? 36.5: Izana He's a funny guy that reminds me of a Henry for some reason, both design wise and personally wise. I don't think I'm gonna use him as unit tho, because he'll get outshined by other and that personal skill.
  6. Soooo many, but off the top of my head: -M!Corrin's Voice 2 crit quotes. I really like how he says, "For Nohr!" -"The pain will pass." 7. Yep, it's normal playthrough since I've never beat the game. Dunno if I gonna do hard tho. I hope he doesn't get screwed as well. Yeah, I've read around here about Lance and Allen are pretty much the only usable units out of the starters. Hence why I'm using them the most, but if the others actually get good level ups, they may see more use, by not that much. Thanks for the compliments and feedback! Chapter 2 is gonna be up either today or tomorrow. Along with some edits I need to make to the first chapter post, since I posted two repeats. ^^'
  8. Haven't gotten to the Forrest Map(i've actually unlocked it already), but why is Gazak a meme now?
  9. Zola's involvement in Birthright was one of my favorite moments. Elise's moments as well. Save Xander, the Nohrian Siblings are actually more enjoyable in Birthright. Takumi's parts in Conquest was also nice and well done. As well as Ryoma's death scene. If it wasn't for the whole premise, the confrontation with Iago and Hans would have also been cool, considering how badass everyone talks. Revelations... I honestly don't know atm.
  10. I actually had a few ideas for the Mega Man Zero characters' classes. MMZ1 Zero- Mercenary > Hero or Bow Knight(Canon class is Hero) Ciel- Shrine Maiden > Priestess or Omyoji(Canon class is Omyoji) Harpuia - Samurai > Swordmaster or Master of Arms(Canon class is Swordmaster) Fernir- Wyvern Rider > Wyvern Lord or Malig Knight(Canon class is Malig Knight) Leviathan- Spear Fighter > Spear Master or Basara(Canon class is Spear Master) Phantom- Master Ninja(prepromote) Copy X- (boss)Master of Arms MMZ2 Elpizo- (boss)Dark Knight MMZ3 Crea- Maid(prepromote) Prea- Priestess(prepromote) Copy X MK II- (boss)Great Knight Armored Omega- (boss)General Omega Zero- (boss)Hero MMZ4 Neige- Trombodor > Strategist or Maid(Canon class is Strategist) Kraft- Bow Knight(prepromote) Dr. Weil- (final boss)Sorcerer at form 1 > Silent Dragon at form 2
  11. Effie Pretty nice design. The armor's platting is nice and the color's very pleasing to the eyes. I like her hairstyle too. She's an absolute badass a unit. Not a super tank, but still an amazing knight nonetheless. The fact that she has insane strength and good speed as well is awesome. As a character, she not bad, but not really great either. I found Kjelle to be better, but she has her moments. She's super gimmicky tho, but she doesn't really gets on my nerves. Jakob Fuck Jakob. He may look cool and he may be good as a unit, but he's a huge Corrin dickrider and one of the reasons why Corrin doesn't learn anything. And the fact that he's an ass to everyone else for the most part, including his own damn son, just makes me hate him more. Leo He's a cool guy. Decent design and the less flamboyant of the Siblings. He's meh as unit, tho. Hayato He a more tolerable, usable version of Ricken, and I can respect that. Also really like his design. Hinata He's a bro. Nifty design. Really like his color palette. He has a nice personality. As a unit, I have a hard time using him cause of that low speed and skill growth. Silas His design is cool. I really like his hair. Kinda so-so as a unit. Personality wise, he's okay sometimes, and boring sometimes. The whole childhood friends thing was a good concept, but like with almost everything character and story wise in Fates, it barely gets touched. His other supports are kinda so-so too. Hans The least involved of the Nohr Villain trio as well as the least impact making. Sure him killing Scarlet and most of the Cheve rebels was impactful, but what else has he done other than grunt work? Also, he apparently got more power near the end. What was this power? Like really, a berserker as a main villain not being just a super grunt would've been cool, but Hans is just a super grunt. Orochi When it comes down to fanservice being discussed, why doesn't Orochi's design never get brought up? People talk about knights and cavs lacking pants and the Female Noble having thigh holes, but the female diviners have their whole ass crack out. I like the Female diviner design tho, although that's a distraction, but I've never let skin being shown cloud the main parts of the design. Orochi also has some nice hair. Unit wise... I don't really like using her. I hate mages with low speed(or/and skill) growths, but with high magic growths. Hayoto is way better, too, which adds salt to the wound. She's kinda meh as a character. Not a super troll, like Azama, but a troll nonetheless. I wish she was the Corrinsexual rather than Reina, because Reina's better as a character. Mitama I love her. She's my favorite child unit(sorry Kana, Soleil, Kiragi, and Forrest) Her design, like Beruka's is pretty standard in terms of her class, but I really her hair, and even her starry pupils grew on me. She's kinda gimmicky with her lazyness from what I've read, but there's some good bits in her supports too. Like I like her support with Kana when she teaches her how write creatively. Her Corrin support is one of the best in the game and felt like an Awakening support since they're actually bonding and learning about each other(also Corrin actually learns something, rather it just be Haiku). She's also funny and charming too, and a pretty surprisingly awesome unit. Her Personal skill is very gimmicky, but her starting bases make up for it. Charlotte If only Beruka wasn't in this game, then Charlotte would've def been my favorite female character. I like her hair, her eyes and the amount of expression that she has in her portraits. Her design is the most fanservice of them all, but since she's in a game where even the dudes can't help but show their asses and I really don't care about too much fanservice as long as it doesn't take up most of the game's aspect, I don't mind, in fact I think the parts that are covered up look nice. I really like those patterns and those high heels are sexy. The white and blue color pattern is also pleasing to the eye. I love her character. I actually didn't mind the fact the fact that she was a gold digger with a hidden personalty, but seeing the reason for her behavior is very touching. And her supports are surprisingly varied from funny, touching, cute, etc. As unit, she's awesome after you get rid of Gamble. Her personal skill and the chapter that gets introduced and joins you is just perfect to level her up. After she removes gamble, she hits hard and things will die. Good job on this one, IS. Odin/Owain I will never tire of this guy... unless he gets reintroduced in the next FE game for some dumb ass reason. It's always fun to read his less serious supports and just imagine him posing and shouting while no one's looking. His new design is... out there to say the least, but I like the yellow, and you can't have fanservice for just one gender...right? As a unit, he's a gamble due to his mixed growths, but I still like using him. Zola The only villain that I actually felt sorry for all paths. He doesn't try to kill anyone, and actually shows mercy. Although he was still working for Garon, he actually felt bad about his actions and tried to convince Garon to spare Corrin. I kinda want him to be a real unit because of it. Could be a good change of pace. Peri I'm a terrible person, because I love Peri. She has a nice design, from her hair to her clothes. She's an awesome unit on Conquest. Good strength, speed, and decent skill, and that Personal skil. Her killing everything cause she can gimmick is honestly fucking funny. I can never really get angry or annoyed at Peri, although the signs or triggering are there and I can understand the hate. Like with Corrin, I blame most of the reason why she gets away with the stuff that she does is that no one calls her out on it or tries to help her(Xander, for being a prince of Nohr, you could've at least tried to help her better than shit you pulled in that support.). Since she's not Corrin, and only a side character, she doesn't really make that big of a mark for me. I just wish that her supports actually had people to help her or stop her. Midori She's... a character I suppose. She has a cute design. As a unit, I don't think she's really that great, tbh. The only reason that she's so abundant is PvP, but she's not really that special if we're talking traditional FE here. She has low strength, speed, and defense growths at base, and the Apothecary class isn't really that good besides the skills. She's only really good for gold and weapon farming in conquest due to her personal skill if she's just a Merchant. She's good with other classes, I'll admit. She's eh as a character. Not really annoying or infuriating and she has her moments, but she doesn't really stand out for me. Weed/Medicine/PvP memes that includes her are fucking funny tho.
  12. Intro & Chapter 1: Judging the Cover, Then the Book Kind of a weird way to start, but before actually getting into the gameplay, let's look at what you see when you first start the game! First, the intro.(no screenie :(. ) As an intro, it's pretty short, to the point, and doesn't spoil everything that is to come, which is a good thing in my eyes. It's also very pretty and nice in terms of colors and animation, and gives off an epic atmosphere. Now on to the title screen. I can't say much about the font, but the sword's details and shading are pretty nice. The logo itself is kinda simple, but in an okay way. Blazing Sword's logo had a bit more going on with it with the text and the axe and whatnot, making for a more epic intro logo, but I do like the simple nature of this logo. Also I really like this version of the title theme. I don't know much about music, but FE6's theme was always the more appealing to me simply because how incident it sounds. Now on to the game... but before we get into the game, lets go the extras menu and talk about something that caught me off guard. Binding Blade has a TUTORIAL!!! I honestly think that this should be included in every other FE, or something similar. Having a tutorial separate from the game allows for more room for the story and other dialog. The main thing that skewers this very perfect and sensible concept is the placing of it. Like with Fates and Awakening, stuff like this is in the Extras menu, which really doesn't make sense imo because a mode where new players can learn the game is VERY FAR from being just an extra, and the many basic mechanics of FE alone requires a lot of time to learn. Lyn's Tale is a prime example of what a tutorial section can look like, but instead of being in the main menu, it's a part of the story and is a very tedious process due to the explaining. IS, it's not hard to make these into separate options. Please stop doing this with these modes. Now, let this LP begin! ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Oh hi Zephiel! Nice beard man! How you been doing?! Been busy I see. How's the family? Does your father still not accept you? Do you still see your cute little sister? Eliwood, you're not dead. Greatest dad ever. Hector for best facial hair. Cerventes wishes he had a beard like this. Aww, it's Lilina. Such a cuti... Why is my eye twitching all of a sudden? Now we start a new adventure! Nothing too special about the intro. Bandits run in trying to take over just because Eliwood is sick and Roy and his posse comes in to kick ass. But first a few screenies from the intro for fun! You... are one very ugly motherfucker. Eliwood also became a savage with age. Truly FE's greatest dad. Now on the units: On the left we have Lance: green Cav No 6, and on the right we have... the underdog, the boy, the lord sealed by 19 levels, Roy! Okay, Lance has a pretty standard design and hairdo, but I love that palette he has. Don't know much about his character tho. As a character, Roy doesn't really stand out to me. He doesn't really experience any big events that tests his ideals or have a sudden change in attitude from what I've played and read. He's pretty basic as a character, and his design is pretty neat too. Next we have Allen: red Cav No 6. Again, pretty standard design and don't know much about his personality. His palette is okay I guess. *screenshot of Bors...lost in action :(* Now, we move on to Bors: the golden bruiser. He's seems like the protective type. Can't really think much other than that. He has a nice sprite palette tho. Not really fond of his design, specifically the hair. I do like his chin and facial features. This is Wolt: that one archer with cool hair. Design wise, he's okay. Character wise, no clue. Palette wise, also nice. Finally, we have Marcus: feed me, if you dare, scrub. Eh, he's okay as a design I guess. Though he doesn't really make that much of an impact on the story, iirc. Character he's pretty much the same as FE7. Pimp purple is an awesome palette. And with all that said, we now begin! Let's talk about the map: In terms of design, I actually like this map as a starter. It's just the right size and has just the right amount of enemies. The enemies all just use one type of weapon, besides the archers, which is good for starter standards. Now for the units that we start with. We start out with 6 units at the start, and for the most part, they be of some use. Let's start with Roy. Many people expect a lot of differing traits when it comes to how to how a lord is supposed to be used. The way Roy was designed in terms of gameplay is actually a good concept, imo. It was just poorly executed due to the lack of level ups. When I first played this game, I gave Roy a lot of kills, and he actually turned out kinda strong. Now, I'm gonna try to only give him like 1-2 level ups each chapter to make room for other characters. His bases, aren't really that bad imo. He has a good amount of speed and decent con. It's not gonna be of use that much here, however, since Fighters actually have enough con to avoid being doubled by Roy. His luck is also good. His Rapier... is a Rapier. It's needs be preserved until he gets another one, because it's a very strong weapon against Cavs and Knights. Starting off with D in swords is also an advantage. He now has access to slayer weapons as well as a steel sword and iron blade, and constant use can lead to him getting a Killing Edge very early on in the game. Now for Marcus. As a Jeigen, Marcus is a pretty good one. Being a horse unit, he has good mobility and can hold his own when respawning units arrive. His stats are strong from the beginning, which is to be expected. He can double, one shot, and maybe even crit all of the units here and forward. I never understood why Jeigens start out with Sliver Weapons, considering that they can one shot everything with it. It may be a trap for the inexperience to learn, or just there to sell. He has an Iron sword too, which I'm gonna give to Roy to save him from using the Rapier. The fact that he has the whole weapon triangle as well as access to slayer swords from the beginning is very tempting for a newcomer, but the only weapons that he's ever gonna use are those of the slim variety and an iron axe. Until then, he's not gonna be getting a lot use for a while. Next we have Allen. Cavaliers are a class that FE players will always have if the map doesn't have a gimmick like too much terrain. They've always have the same uses from distant attacking to saving other units. Players usually tend to only keep one or two Cavs to allow space for flyers. Like with this case, Allen may be the only Cav that I bring in midgame, or it could be Lance. It may even be both or neither, only level ups will tell. Allen here, from my experience, has Sain growths, meaning that he won't get a lot of speed, but will get good defense, HP and luck. His strength is good, skill is eh, and he has okay speed, although he can't double the fighters in this map. His luck is bad atm, and he has good defense. His and Lance's con are the same, meaning that if he gets RNG blessed with speed, he will be a top draft in my team and may never leave. He has typical starting weapons and no vulenary. He and Lance has a weapon level of E in swords and D in lances. It won't be hard getting their sword levels up. We now have Bors next. Bors... shouldn't really be in a map like this. It's way too open and almost all the enemies are axe units. Knights in general are kinda taboo in FE, imo, because not only does the unit's growths need to be good, but the maps and design must make that unit usable in terms of strategical defense. On one hand, we gets Knights like Oswin who can be very useful in most of Blazing Sword due the maps varying in size and some having chokepoints and requires you to defend, as well as Oswin having good bases from the beginning and having good growths as well. On the other hand, we have Bors, who can be good, but gets put in a very bad spot from the beginning due to the nature of this map. Now, Bors stats are kinda a joke here. He has the same strength and skill as Allen, but worse HP(doesn't really matter since he's Knight and has damn good defense) and luck. Due to that, and the fact that this map consists of mostly axe units, Bors will see no action here, because he won't have a reliable hit rate. Let's just hope that C rank in lances comes in handy. Now for Wolt. Archers... are barely good, most of the time bad from my experiences. It's seems like female archers get the better end of the stick, because up till we got Takumi, male archers just borderline sucked for the most part(I have not played the Tellius series, so I don't know about Shinon). Archers in general I've never liked as a class due to enemy archers being trolls and being RNG blessed, and the first archer that I get being absolute trash from the beginning, and doesn't go anywhere during the ride. I get what archers are used for, sneaky bastards that hits units from a distance but fragile due to not being able to fight up close, but I'm really annoyed at the fact that I've never start off with at least an archer with good bases. Wolt... *sigh*. Everything... is worse than Roy... other than con, and his HP being the same. He can't even kill the Fighters after they've been weakened. Wolt has never been good in any level up that he got on my earlier playthroughs. I honestly don't want to even attempt trying to make use of Wolt, but maybe I was RNG screwed. I'm giving his Vulenary to Allen. D rank in Bows... I don't know maybe it'll come in handy? *screenshot of Lance's stats... didn't include them but he has two point less strength, 2 points more skill, 2 points more speed, 1 point worse luck, and 1 point less HP* Now we have Lance, who has Kent growths and is the polar opposite of Allen in terms of good and bad base stats, which is expected. Allen was actually the one who got the better level ups in my last playthrough. Lance would either gain no strength, no defense, or no speed. Lance has a Javelin, which isn't gonna get any use on this map. Now, with all that rambling done, on the game itself... I decided to move Wolt down at the bottom since Lance can do enough damage for Wolt to kill him. Moved Bors to the woods since he'll be out of range, and moved Allen to the top. Let's see how this goes... CURSES! HERE COME DAT BOI! No one took damage after the enemy's turn, and Wolt can get a kill now. Good start. Now to deal with this... Good. I have a bad feeling about this... Dammit. Damn. It. I remember this always happening to Lance. Welp, there goes one vulenary. Now for revenge! Payback's a bitch! Another kill for Wolt. Better start praying to Anna. You really wanna ride this train, fam? Big Mistake! I have nothing to fear. Time to visit a village, because seeing a dude in armor doesn't raise any red flags at all, apparently. D'awww. She's a cutie. Anyways, we got 5000 gold, totaling to 10000. Damn good start. OW! My face! Jokes on you because I level up this turn! I sense good things in your future. My time to shine! Now I will grow stronger! ...Just the first level up...! *prays to Anna like there's no tomorrow* We're almost there, dad! [ASS CLENCHING INTENSIFIES] PRAISE ANNA!!! You're running out of goons, fam. You can't catch a break, but we're about to be done anyways. ... don't start this shit this early on in the game! Stay dead you prick. Now for the boss. He's easy, which is good. Gonna snipe him a bit, and give one of the cavs the kill. Before I do so, I'm giving Bors Lance's Javelin for the next map, and giving Wolt's vulenary to Lance. You brought a team of mostly fighters that uses axes, what do you think was gonna happen? For Lycia! Time to end this! Damn right. Allen chill. And with that, this chapter comes to a close! Final thoughts: This chapter is a very straight forward chapter in terms of design. It's not a chapter that a veteran players can mess up like at all, and it's not too daunting for newcomers to the series. The enemy placement is pretty good and not too dangerous. Nothing really much to say in that regard, since... it's the first chapter of the game. Final score: 5th: Marcus and Bors(0 LVs; 0 EXP. Didn't do that much outside of getting stuff and trading.) 4th: Roy(0 LVs; 82 EXP. Got some kills.) 3rd: Lance(1 LV; 76 EXP; +1 HP, +RES. Got kills, but a bad level up.) 2nd: Wolt(1 LV; 39 EXP; +1 HP, +1 SKL, +1 SPD, +1 DEF. BEST LV UP SO FAR.) 1st and MVP: Allen(2 LVs; 37 EXP; +1 HP, +1 STR, +2 SPD, +2 LUK. He's on a roll so far!) Whew. That was a lot of writing. Good thing after this there isn't gonna be a plethora of new units for awhile. Up Next: Fox Girl Has Become Fox Woman! Chapter 2... Tell me what you guys think! ^^
  13. Hello SF! After looking around and thinking for a bit, I've decided to re visit games that I never really looked into/stopped playing/just wanna look back again and give my general thoughts, and try to be funny. (keyword:try). The format will be me rambling about my first experience as well as where I heard about the game and what made interested in it first, followed I'm starting with... Fire Emblem: Binding Blade!!! My first experience: After enjoying the very fun Blazing Sword, I decided to try Binding Blade next. I never really heard about the game as a whole and how it fared as a game. All I knew at the time was that Roy was always the main thing that was talked about when it came down to it, and if you guys guessed, it was always talking about how he was terrible as a lord. So I took it with a grain of salt, and decided to get the FE6 emulator and see for myself. After playing it for a bit, I can just say... Okay, I've never actually finished Binding Blade. In fact, I borderline hated Binding Blade for a few very dumb reasons. The maps were too big, the RNG trolled super hard, and most of my units never really got good level ups. I stopped playing after hearing about the infamous chapter 14: Arcadia. Hearing the concept alone turned me off, but after actually seeing what it looks like... I just couldn't bring myself to play Binding Blade anymore. Namely because of that chapter where you get Echidna and Lalum and all of the stuff that you had to do really burned me out. I now remember that I wasn't really the best tactician(in fact I may have been borderline terrible) during the time and I didn't really optimize my units correctly. I'm now going at this with a new optimism and open mind. A few things to note/my general plans: -I'm not going in this 100% blind, but I am going in it kinda blind. I know most of the maps up until the chapter where you get Miledy, and who's the final boss, but that's pretty much it. I don't know how other characters fare beyond that, so I'm interested if there's any other viable units later on. -I am gonna be using guides on how to recruit characters/weapon and item locations. FE secrets are usually very important and can help a lot in the long run, and I want to get every unit possible and see how each works. -I'm not gonna be looking a the growth rates. I only know Lilina's, Sophia's, and Roy's by heart. Everyone else I'm either iffy about, or I just don't know, so I'm gonna let my level ups decide on how I feel about their growths. -I won't go all out about the story, but I will point out some things that I like in certain cutscenes as well as talk about the main point of each chapter. -I'm actually gonna point out some stuff graphic wise as well as music wise. -If it's a character that I already know about, I'll post my original impressions of said unit. -Along with the unit, I'm gonna give my impressions with said unit's class. -I'm gonna try to be funny, but I'm not a Batta the Beast or a Gheb. ;~; -I'll ask for suggestions, but not a lot since I do wanna experience some stuff on my own. I'll just make it known when I do. -I'm gonna try to use every unit at least 2 or 3 times. That includes Sophia, Ceilicia, and Wendy and the Knights. -At the end, there's gonna be a MVP of a chapter based on amount of times used, how much said unit contributed, and how good said units level ups were. INDEX:
  14. ^There's needs to be tutorials like that lol. Informative yet filled with personality. I'll start learning the style once I get to the groove anyways: A few years ago I had this idea of Remixing Mega Man, and these were the old designs. I'm now going back to this, but now the story is gonna be rewritten and the designs revamped. Starting with 'Zero' I think I made the upper body too small, but other than that I like how it came out. Just need to redo the hair(it was gonna be a generic long hair style) and shade. Thoughts?
  15. Birthright: I'm not gonna even lie and say that there aren't hard a few chapters now that I've beaten it, even though I cheesed. Chapter 22 was a tough one, but pretty fun. Those Dragon Veins got annoying, and I tried to keep Effie and Arthur alive. Arthur's a dumbass on this map after you talk to him. Chapter 24 was insane, but not too bad. Just a lot of units to deal with. This game's Chapter 27 was actually harder that Conquests due to the variety of enemies and no places to hide. The only one that pissed me off with it's difficulty was Chapter 25. Reinforcements right in front of me? *sigh* Conquest: Chapter 20 is a hard one due to the wind and whatnot, but I actually like the mechanic because you can get creative with the wind. Chapter 24 with those damn fliers and Hinoka. I'll remember to have a few more bow users after dealing with that hell. Chapter 25... all the asshole RNGesus blessed units are here with Spy's weapons. This is the only chapter with those, and seeing them for the first time pissed me off. Thank god that killing Saizo and Kagero isn't required. Iago and his staffs can burn in hell in Chapter 26. At least it felt good to kill him by silencing him and wailing on him like there's no tomorrow. Endgame was brutal, but after bring extra tonics it was a good challenge. Chapter 17 I will forever hate. Fuck ninjas and status dropping weapons and fuck that chapter. Revelations: So far the only chapter that classified as 'hard' to me was chapter 16-17. The random factor here is way worse than the wind. At least the wind had different colors to label what direction it goes, those damn flame walls don't have a real pattern. The fact that you have to cross the cracks was also dumb. 17 just had a clusterfuck of enemies and the new units you get are outshined by the Royals and aren't really that useful. Not hard, but meh, and fucking up mean you to BACK to Hell(literally. I think that chapter design wise is made to look and feel like Hell.).
  16. Favorite: Kana's Not just because of bias, because it's so damn easy ever after playing through the game for awhile and it's good for grinding. When I found out that there were reinforcements, I was so overjoyed. I also like that Kana's not any real danger so you don't have to multitask. Honorable Mention goes to Opheila's for having so much stuff as well as being a good challenge and having Opheila from the beginning. Least Favorite: Sophie's I never thought there would be worse AI than that one mission in Awakening, then I get to this thing. Not only is the AI downright suicidal, but the map is so damn huge and has terrain in the areas slowing down most of your units. And the payoff isn't really that much if you save all of them. At least it's easy to get Sophie. Dishonorable Mention goes to Shiro's. If I didn't give him any breaker skills... oh god.
  17. Yeah, the reason I was surprised is kinda dumb... Yes, but like Quintessence mentioned, the lords have an advantage over normal units. Ike especially considering that he's pretty much a well known name in the FE universe. Also, after looking through the other threads here, I honestly think that the voting time is too short. I think it should last probably 1 or 2 days more.
  18. Physical: Berserkers. I honestly used to hate axes, but the GBA FE games made me love them with the almighty Dart(and Hector). Just seeing them crit was so satisfying. It's too bad they sucked in Awakening, but then Fates fixed this with Charlotte and Beruka(I kinda want her to be the Canon Fighter just because she looks so right in the model, but Charlotte is awesome too!) being actual monsters when trained, and 100% crits are fucking silly when it's not on PvP... happening to you. ;~; Honorable Mention: Hero Magical: Bishops. A rather simple designed class, but fun to use. Like Myrmidons but with magic and worse luck(if you're using Artur/Lucius). Light Magic also has some cool looking animations. Honorable Mention: Sorcerer/Druid Hybrid: Malig Knights. Those Dark Dragons look fucking awesome and this class is so useful. Has pretty high strength and okay magic. It's also very tanky when arrows aren't involve. I also love that Beruka's default look is actually the female variant of the armor. Honorable Mention: Dark Knight
  19. Yeah, but isn't having a lord unit in the same areas of the weapons that they use is kinda unfair? I mean, if that was the case, Ephraim could've been a candidate for the horse user with a Lance, Eliwood could've been a candidate for the horse user with a sword, Hector could've been a candidate for the axe user, etc. It may be to add another lord since that's kinda the norm now, but if that were than case than another lord slot should've been added. Just my two cents. As long the noscope queen Lute is on the list, it's good with me. I'm more surprised at the game with the most units chosen are from Fates, by a margin. Anna: 1 FE6: 1 FE8: 2 FE9 and 10: 2 FE14: 4
  20. Why was Ike even on the sword user list considering that he's a lord?
  21. #12: Saizo I thought that he was gonna be a generic, boring ninja archetype, but I was surprised with the amount of variety in his supports and come to like him as a character. I'm even starting to enjoy his design, even though it's oddly similar to Eiji Kisargi(Art of Fighting/KOFXI). He's a silly, fun unit too when you give him the right skills. #13: Velouria She's just so precious and has a great design. I didn't use as a Wolfskin on my first playthrough(her mother was Elise), so I can't really say much about that aspect. #14: Fuga Just found out that his attacks have wind effects... I now want other characters to have different effects now. As a unit... Haven't gotten him. As a character, can't really say much since his story isn't really that fleshed out(it may be in his Support). I don't really like his design, but it's not terrible. #15: Subaki I like him. He's an interesting unit and has a rather simple design, which I can appreciate. Character wise, he's okay. #16: Hinoka Meh. Hinoka's not really anything special. Not amazing design wise, tho I like her hair, meh as a unit when compared to the other siblings, and no real notable supports. #17: Niles As someone who actually prefers funny, witty characters over tragic characters most of the time, I find that Niles fits the bill for both perfectly. He's has some good funny and serious supports that I enjoyed reading. His design is cool too. He's okay as a unit. #18: Felicia A funny, charming character who I wished was better in terms of fighting, but I see what IS was going for. I will still use her over Jakob, because fuck Jakob. #19: Kagero I actually loved Say'ri in Awakening. She had a nice design, sexy voice, and was the best prepromote of all the other prepromotes. Kagero, however, is kinda bland for the most part, tbh. I like her design tho, and the fact that she has the highest strength growth is silly, but cool, and her personal skill alone make for a good unit, because anti-ninja strats ftw. It's funny how the least looking ninja turned out to be the blandest. #20: Kana *looks at profile pic* I'm proud to be in minority that enjoys Kana. I really like his/her clothing design, it's not as out there as Corrin's, but the little things like the gloves and the legwear are nice little touches. I've actually started to appreciate him/her as a character more now. He's/She's just a kid whose loves his/her parents, and that's it. No tragic backstories, trying to prove anything, or any odd reason to leave that resolves in joining the army. Just a normal, curious kid. It's actually kinda refreshing to see a character like that, because usually adding something to a child character that isn't really child like can backfire(as we've seen in Corrin), and playing it safe for once isn't really bad. Unit wise, I honestly think that's Kana's underrated(or I'm just biased to all hell). He's/She's not a Morgan, but he/she can be a good unit. Her starting growth rates are rather poor, but she doesn't have a borderline terrible one. I think Dwyer's worse, tbh.
  22. She can if you hack. :3 Jokes and typos aside, I want Charlotte to get with Saizo. The only thing stopping me is seeing Asugi with blonde hair. Then again, blonde hair may not look too out of place. I really wanna see how Selena acts with Hinata, and I never had a chance to use ginger Hisame, so Selena!Hisame it is. I know of the greatness that is Azura!Soliel, she's in my Conquest Playthough, but Azura!Mitama is also insane. I need to think on it a bit more. And Oboro!Caedori it is. Will do Sakura!Asugi on my no grind BR playthough tho.
