  1. Is the games run speed really that much of an issue? The gba FEs aren't much better at all, really. In a remake,  wouldn't they add quality of life changes like the skip turn function? Things like auto-play to get you from one destination to the other, and so forth. I personally don't think it's that bad, but I could see this make it a lot less annoying for players who like it more "fast paced".

First off, it's a 20 speed, 30 might weapon. If that alone doesn't scream "I'm OP as fuck" to you, what DOES??? Second, while it might be overkill for doubling purposes, it still renders you practically invincible (though that, admittedly, can backfire since enemies won't attack if they have a 0% chance to hit you).

I'm pretty sure I said this before, but most Fire Emblem games have weapons that are strictly just better, that's the way they seem to want it, so that's how it is.

    I wouldn't quite say this.

They would have to change up Shannan and Patty near Yied if they nerfed the +20 Spd of Balmung. Already, Shannan has a ~20% chance of being hit in a 1 RN system (which I think they would preserve), which when he has to survive so many chances of getting hit, he can only kill the Loptyrians at one per turn, is a bit risky. Lower his evade, and then either Yied becomes a lot risker, or it becomes much harder to get to Yied before, since Shannan is looking at being ORKO'ed. And if you don't send him to kill the boss, there is a chance he'll find his Fenrir and now you'll have another little threat to kill.

I agree with this. It wouldn't be very fair to the player otherwise. If an issue with the game is purely balance, then you could complain about almost any game, nothing is perfectly balanced, expecting otherwise is just silly. That's why there are "good characters" and "bad characters" in every FE game. Killing the players fun options just makes the game linear and boring, to me. There isn't anything wrong with them designing it around that, honestly. Sure, you can say, "oh it makes it too easy!" But they also have to consider not everyone is a tactical genius.  Mistakes can be made, and in this specific situation, a lot is taken out of your control.

Because it's far and away more prominent in Genealogy than in any other FE game. Unmounted units all but get invalidated thanks to the giant maps, and weapon balance is practically nonexistent. And speaking of weapons, there's the holy weapons, which practically vault their users into Game Breaker territory, ESPECIALLY Balmung and Forseti, because +20 to the most important stat in the game is clearly fair and balanced.

Well how can unmounteds be invalid but then balmung be game breaking at the same time? And a lot of fe games have weapons that are too good, it's not like game specific. They're just for fun, I think. Expecting them to balance something is expecting alot, I think. Also, I personally like the maps the way they are as well, I would take them over most close-quarter not much to do maps, personally, of course.

Yeah i agree but i think it would be a new experience to play on the big maps at least for me it would be. I like how the story goes where it shows off a huge gap in the games storyline.

I can agree, it does have it's positive points, and it's always interesting to approach a game differently. I think most the issues of that could be fixed if after you conquer a castle, some enemies would appear for something to do in between the down-time.

Maybe to you, but Seliph's story is boderline basic to me, and the problem I have is the main character himself. In my eyes, Seliph is just Roy with blue hair. A second generation lord who is nowhere near as good as his father is as a character. Hell you know what? I can basically apply that to most of the second generation as well. If Arvis wasn't such a God-tier villian, I would've stopped playing Geneology's second half because the story stopped interesting me.

I actually kinda agree here. Gen 2's story was really bland compared to Gen 1. The gameplay was also not as interesting in Gen 2 because all of the Holy weapons that only some units get, kind of making the idea of pairing to make fun unit combos, pointless.

  5. I thought it would be neat to remake FE4 as well, but I can't imagine them leaving a lot of the story/gameplay elements the same, I would guess because controversy of most things. And while I think the game has it's charms, the maps are a bit tedious to get through considering you are just moving to the other side of the map after every castle. I think it has a chance, though and I would like to believe it could be done right, or at least a bit more cleaned up.

@lightcosmo The ability to cook off roughly 40% of someone's sounds good...But it's an big gamble because you're cooking off Saizo's health and his personal requires him to be halfway dead to begin with. And I think that you can improve your accuracy by farming support conversations, but I think the bonus stays under 20%. About hybridization, unless you're playing SoV, only works if what you're after is built like an General or using it to attack from a distance.

Oh, I know, it was just an example of something that wasn't really geared to raw damage. Like, if everything was about damage, then skills like Lunar would almost always be a top choice, but it doesn't seem to be the case. Fates just isn't always set up that way, at least from what I can tell. Not that strength isn't very important, of course It is. Don't get me wrong there, There a lot of other things to consider, like ninja stat drops, that affect strategies a lot. I really don't know that much about skill setups, so i'm just observing really. Also, this is played on Lunatic, right? I'm not really a hardcore strategist either but the ideas here seem pretty solid.

Flags are earning by completing Voting Gauntlet quests. They are like: "Win a battle in the Voting Gauntlet with a red ally on your team." or "Win Arena Duels at any difficulty. (5 Times)". They are not difficult to complete.

The Voting Gauntlet battles are 3 Vs 3 battles. Your team will be: The first unit in your current team (the one in the far left) +.a unit from your friend list that is supporting the same team + a unit from a random player taht is supporting the same team. If you don't have. If you don't have friends in the same team you are supporting, you will receive 2 random units.

Ah right, those quests. I seem to forget about them more often than I should. I'm never sure whether or not to expend my resources, i'm kinda finicky about that.

No problems, and I am glad for being helpful.

Oh, and don't get mad for being in a losing team... the winner team only gets 500 feathers. it's not a big deal. Just do your best. Each round has 45 hours, and the multipliers increase each hour. The second day of each round will have the higher multipliers, so if you want a high score I recommend to use your flags during the 2nd day of each round, which is what I normally do.

It's just a game, I don't really mind losing, it's just for fun! Alright, thanks for the advice, are flags earned by entering?

  9. 1 minute ago, Diovani Bressan said:

Nothing to lose. At least you will get some orbs and sacred coins from the quests, and a good amount of feathers from the event. It's very easy to reach the end with ~10.000 feathers earned during the event

Oh, wow that's not bad at all! Thanks for the help, and sorry again for the silly questions!

I believe this change, with the introduction of the ballots, is to make this mode more "fair" or balanced, to make us strategize more about when is the best moment to use the ballot.

Previous VGs were decided based on the last multipliers. It was very common the team that usually got the multipliers in the final hour to be the winner team.

So I suppose i'll give this a shot, then. nothing to lose, right? At least, I hope not...

Oh ok. I thought that this was your first Voting Gauntlet.

I am also kinda curious... I like to meet new players.

Oh, this is! I haven't done this before, which is why i'm asking. I kinda ignored it before because I wasn't sure what to do. We can both agree there, then. I for sure wouldn't say i'm even close to an expert on this game. If skipping it is indeed bad then... oops.

Poison Strike is on a class that's not exactly an offensive powerhouse. Pyrotechnics is linked to one unit, and it damages him (to be fair, though, if you're on the route where you have the character that uses it, you have ranged healing, which makes it not as risky at it might seem). Savage Blow sounds great on paper, but it rarely hits any amount of units worth mentioning without you making really risky moves. In any instance, the fact that Oni Chieftain, Basara and Malig Knight have next to nothing of note going for them makes me hope they cut down on the hybrid classes in Three Houses.

Well yeah, I think that's the idea, you trade 20% for 40% on a lot of units around you. it's high risk high reward, when placed right, isn't that how most skills are utilized? Raw power/brute force isn't always for the best. I mean on paper, any good skill improperly used isn't going to seem that amazing. Fate's is actually pretty well set up with that, I think. Sure it's not perfect, but what Fire Emblem game is? That was just an example, I have no idea what's really well synergized in this game, as I don't really play seriously.

  13. I'm enjoying this so far! It's always fun to see stuff about Fates, dunno why. Also,

2 hours ago, Shadow Mir said:

Frankly, I struggle to consider Malig Knight worthwhile because of its awkward weapon combination (axes and tomes do NOT go well together). Not helping matters is that it's an offshoot of a physically inclined class, meaning that tome access is most likely not going to do you much, if any, good since most units that can access it are clearly physically inclined. Which goes into my next point - most units cannot hope to be good in hybrid classes because their stat leanings clearly trend toward one of physical or magical. Being good in a hybrid class requires being able to use both physical weapons and magic well, otherwise you might as well opt for the other (and better) class option, which is why I tend to reclass Camilla into Wyvern Lord almost immediately after chapter 10 is over - it gives her lances, a weapon that she can actually do damage with - tome access can be left to units that can actually do good magic damage. It doesn't help that Rally Defense is more useful than Savage Blow, either (AoE chip damage sounds great on paper, but isn't so good in actual practice...).

I think that the choice of using magic+ axes isn't always about raw power, like a weapon effect like Nohrian blades defence bonus alone can make being able to wield swords worth going for in certain situations. That's kinda Fates style, odd mixes that just seem to mesh, I think. I could be wrong since i'm awful at this game, though. So take what i'm saying with a grain of salt. And you don't think Skills like Poison strike + Pyrotechnics is worth going for? it seems to be really effective if you ask me. With proper placing, those skills can do quite a bit of effortless damage with little risk.

Hey I’m new here and am unsure how to use this file. Do I need something special of can I just use my gba emulator?

You have to patch your ROM using the NUPS program.

Thanks, that is what I was going for. Honestly, I am kinda surprised (and disappointed) that no one had done this before me (as far as I know).  Sacred Stones was the first FE game I've ever played and it holds a special place in my heart. I'm just adding in more flavor.

Your welcome! Well, I think that everyone has a different look on what's fun/interesting, so it's almost always different every time. I think it's pretty fun, but that's just me.

Yeah, MMBN4 had a lot of problems. Story reeked of post script season since MMBN3 was supposed to be the finale. The plot should have focused on fighting the Nebula Syndicate and moved the tournament arc stuff as a optional thing that could be repeated anytime so I wouldn't have to play New Game+ three times to unlock everything. It is also riddled with blind idiot translations though some I like ironicly like 'Look at those many electrical store' and 'What a nice man she was'. Also, I felt Double Soul was a step down from Style Change since only a handful of them were good plus Full Synchro is easy to achieve with good Karma and arguably more useful.

MMBN2 and MMBN3 would be the best to use as a base since they were the pinnacle of the MMBN series though I also liked MMBN5 which I am kind of bias towards since it was the first MMBN game I played. The Liberation Missions were interesting and the game in general was a vast improvement over what MMBN4 did since it did a better job balancing between Liberation Missions and Boss Stages compared to the garbled mess MMBN4 did with the Nebula Syndicate, incoming meteor and tournament arcs.

I think the translation being awful didn't really help it's cause any. And of course, to advance the story, do tedious quest, compete in tournament, then repeat till endgame. Also I agree that MMBN5's battle system was really unique, being able to use different Navi's for specific situations was actually fun. As far as balance goes, I actually enjoy the insane combos MMBN3 had in it, it feels really rewarding in a way, even if they are kinda game-breaking.

Its possible they intended the player to get more tier 1 classes? Personally I think thief makes sense.

Bandit is the weird one I think, because there is no Berserker?

I assume they have bandit because it's in most Fire Emblem games, so it's more like a consistency thing.

Okay, you did a lot for me ! Thanks you, i'm gonna try to find by myself how to change correctly the characters ^^

    Oh, good luck then!

Yes ! It was the reason ! It was so obvious xD Yeah, I just need the ID of Kezhda, please!

Sorry if you mean his PID, it's at 32530 in the data file. Also, they might disappear because the games runs an all unit check for the team swapping. Since they dont exist normally, the game skips them I think, so it's like they get removed. This is just me guessing I don't honestly know.
