I think I care a little bit more about Helbindi because he has two sides. Yeah there's the Muspell warrior side, but he is also a little bit caring, like in that chapter with Ylgr. And I guess there's a bit of a Gonzales vibe in there. I mostly am interested in him and the Muspell older sister the main trio + Fjorm I guess.
Also totally thought the other sacrifice would be either Laevatainn or her sister somehow.
Oh yeah. It's been so long I had practically forgotten about Sharena getting some love in that paralogue. It was nice seeing her take center stage. And her "FOR MY FRIENDS" thing worked there. Honestly Sharena and Veronica could have some good development together. They're both kind of similar in that they want friends. Veronica goes about it by taking what she wants by force...and Sharena is actually personable. I could see her actually enjoying a tea party with Ronnie and trying to teach her how to make friends properly. And Veronica is in a gray enough area that she can actually be helped. Same with Helbindi probably. Sharena as the big guy's sister? Absolutely precious. But knowing IS, they'll probably try to make befriend someone like Surtr... >.>

What a waste of character. Fjorm, too. And Gunnthrá. Even in a mobile crossover spinoff, Fire Emblem can’t write female characters to save its life.Amen to all of this. I'll admit that I generally have a harder time liking female characters across most forms of media, but I've got a solid group of characters I can say I like without a doubt. It honestly wouldn't take that much effort on IS's part to give the female protagonists a little...oomph. Fjorm's gotta' know she's basically dying. Give her a little inner monologue about it. Gunnthra's a lost cause until we bring her back because she's not really burned to a crisp. She just has amnesia. She'll come back in the form of a masked knight.

This is why I usually end up not liking younger sister characters. I don't know why writers like to reduce them to nothing but cute and innocence. My little sister has never once acted precious in her life. She spends her free time doing intense eye shadow art and building skateboards from scratch. And she does spontaneous things like shaving her head. She used to beat the crap out of MY bullies during recess. But I'll digress. It's a gatcha game, and it's also a popular trope that CAN be done well.
But poor Sharena. Even if she got to break someone's face once or do something diplomatic, I'd be satisfied...

Some thoughts on the new chapter:
Spoiler-I feel like this is the most action we've gotten in a while. Or maybe it's just the story drought we've been stuck in making me feel this way. Not much was accomplished really, but at least we got some Veronica news.
-I kind of want to punch Alfonse in the face. He has his suspicions about a possible traitor and his instinct is to watch things play out? I love the guy, but I'm not sure how the writers were expecting to play that off as smart. I'm pretty sure some bad stuff happened because Alfonse decided to be sneaky.
-Sharena really needs something other than, "I lurve mah friendz." It's like...cute up until a certain point...and then it's annoying. I can understand wanting to have some optimism amidst the doom and gloom, but she needs a purpose. Even having her making friends with like..."enemy" villagers that decide to help them later on because of her kindness would make her such a better character. I don't like characters whose only purpose is to be cute. I like cute characters who add something to the party. >.> C'mon IS. Don't do the girl dirty.
-Fjorm's *cough* evolved into *COUGH.* That's when you know it's serious.
-I had high expectations for Loki when she first appeared. I like a good "mysterious" villain, but the more she's appeared, the less she's interested me. She doesn't work in this story because the heroes are all so pure-hearted and trusting. She's supposed to be around to sow doubt and chaos, but she fails to do that, so her grand villain persona is mostly reduced to trolling. At this point, I've lost interest in even her personal motives. She's not a good villain for this story. I almost dare to say that she'd be better if IS tried to make her funny instead of "mysterious."
-Helbindi. ;A; Seriously though. How is it that IS can give him like...more backstory and character-presence than like...Fjorm?
Note: I definitely expect too much of a gatcha story, but I really like the art of storytelling and characterization in general, so I find picking it apart fun. I'm just glad to have more
orbsstory in general. And I wanna see Veronica get saved. -

Thats what I thought but I’m worried as soon as I change to like a red sword all I’ll get are reds, and Julia can usually solo the round if they don’t have many red units :/
I'm not too sure if the standards have switched or not. I know this round I've mostly been getting random Veronicas as allies. I think for the most part, casual/newer players tend to stick characters like Legendary Ike as their leads since they're 5 stars, strong, and free. In the past, I've always gotten a lot of L!Ilkes and Brave Lyns as random allies. And now I can add Ronnie to the mix. If you're having trouble getting reds, that may be the same for others, so there's no problem in switching it around.
And I just mean getting a 5 star unit with some skills learned. Bonus points if the unit has some SI. There have been some gauntlets in the past where I've gotten like...random 4 star units as allies with no skills learned. I don't mind it if an ally has just their base kit. Even Legendary Ike with his normal skills is totally fine. Legendary Ike with nothing but Ragnell isn't.
Since there's no penalty for losing a round in VG, you can just surrender as many times as you want until you get a team set-up that works for you. Just surrender until you get a red ally. It can be a little tedious, but you only really waste time. And we've got plenty of that.

I like to put green or colorless units as my rep as long as the unit I'm supporting isn't that color. (For example, I'm Team Veronica, so I wouldn't put Lucius as my rep. But if I'm Team Brave Ike, I'm not going to put Raven as my rep.) I've found that it's pretty easy to get red allies. Blue is hit or miss for me, but a little more common than green or colorless. You might also consider the unit you're supporting and what kind of characters might be useful in a team with them. Veronica and Roy might like having some horse buff support for example. But you can never go wrong with just putting out your "best" unit if you feel they'll be useful. I'm always pleasantly surprised when I get a fully built 5 star as an ally.
If you don't have the unit you're supporting, you can always just go ahead and use a unit of the same color or anyone really since it doesn't matter as much.

I went from like...800 down to 350ish. All the extra space feels so silly now, but I suppose it will be nice to have just in case IS decides to throw us a bunch of new characters.
Not gonna happen.A long time ago, I found ideal natures for most characters available at a lower rarity and carefully starred them. I'm sure there are some characters who could use better natures, but I never use them except for maybe hero specific quests, so I'm fine with keeping my less than optimal 4* Jagen as he is. Everyone else gets to be fodder! -

Oh wow. That's pretty bomb. Celica deserves all the love. Honestly, she's still a really great sword even among all the...really great swords. XD
If I wasn't busy with another game, I'd definitely be messing around with her non-alt's new upgrade right now. My priorities are backwards. -

I got a 3 star Hawkeye. But honestly, I can't even be mad. I'm finally ready to explore the new update and mess around with it.

Looks like the trailer dropped a little earlier than I expected. Interesting group of heroes here. Don't know much about Jugdral, but I do know that the addition of Lewyn is going to please a few people. I was looking forward to him myself since he's a trope of character I'm usually fond of. I'm tempted to pull for him myself, but the past few banners haven't been kind to me. Time to save. It'd be cool if Sylvia dropped. I'd honestly like some of these new inheritable weapons in the normal pool...
Is Ethlyn a healer? I saw a staff in her original art. If so, Heroes has been REALLY generous with healers this year. We went from not seeing one since Bridal Lyn to like...a nice handful of healers in the past year. I'm actually excited to get another 5 star healer to add to my stash.

I'm going team Veronica first round, but I honestly can't predict how everyone's going to do this time. The newer heroes probably have some recency bias, but Lyn and Brave Ike have managed to stay relevant in terms of performance/fodder. The multiplier RNG will determine winners in the end.
It's odd. I'd probably be fine with any of the ladies winning since they're all characters I'm pretty fond of. Of the guys, I'd probably like to see Roy win, but I doubt that'll happen. I do think his art has to be one of my favorites because it's absolutely precious.

Gonna have to watch some of the video clears later when I have the time. I was honestly surprised by how basic these maps felt. But no complaints here. I did infernal first, and it only took two tries. Though maybe it's just because Abyssal was so terrible in comparison. (I only wasted my time on Marth's Abyssal map anyways since I don't like the swim goggles anyways. Not worth the headache. But Lucius needed the golden barrette.)
Used my usual team: Raven, Lucius, Mia, and Micaiah. Haven't made a video clear in a long time, but I haven't had the motivation to do so. Sorry. Heheh... There wasn't really anything all that spectacular about this year anyway. Attack the knight, retreat, and let everything else fall into place.

I don't normally crawl out of the Heroes forum, but I noticed this going on, and I'm in kind of a creative mood. I don't usually write fanfiction, but I don't see any harm in giving it a go. Is it okay to jump in during the second round?

Gah...picking one character is hard. Even narrowing it down to my top 10 most wanted characters is hard. @Jotari I'll go ahead and pick Nailah as my choice. Honestly, it's hard to choose between Rhys, Rafiel, Saleh, Pent, and Louise... But Nailah is probably one of the most beautifully designed characters I've ever seen, and she'd probably provide some fun mechanics to the game.
And deep down I know that Velouria or Selkie will get added before the queen. -

At least there was some light at the end of the tunnel though and you got some good fodder along the way. CC Morgan isn't quite as universally useful as CC Matthew in my experience, but he's definitely worth it, especially at +10.

I was even stupid enough to try again. >.> Your CC Matthew is pretty amazing, but I've gotta' put some love into my brainy son who will like end up replacing Merric with my summoner support. This will be the first time I've ever changed it over. So far, I'm enjoying him. But I still need about 50k feathers to finish him up since I decided to go ahead and inherit Aether onto him.

@Vaximillian Marth seems to be relatively kind to people. Congrats on the +1 though. I'm excited to start leveling mine. :3

More woes from an idiotic/greedy summoner. I had some leftover orbs and decided, "Why not? I'll try one more time on the Brave Heroes banner?" I got up to 5% AGAIN. And of course instead of a focus hero, I got pitybroken by Gray (+HP -RES). I already have him with +ATK -HP. He's got sword valor, but at this point, it feels like everyone and their mother has sword valor. Feeling pretty broken, I opened the Legendary Banner for a YOLO. First orb is a neutral Lene. She's new at least. Adding insult to injury after that Gray it feels like. Looks like he's going to be another merge. In a last ditch effort, I took the 35 orbs I had left and just went at the Brave Heroes banner. Naturally, at 3%, I got a Veronica. She's +SPD -ATK. At this point, I don't mind the bane because the boon is pretty good.
I'm thinking I'll just go ahead and pick Celica as my free hero. Getting -ATK on both ladies is a little sad. But neutral Celica will be fine, and I can inherit Galeforce + Deathblow 4 onto someone (a la mampfoid).
Brave Banner is officially cursed. It's a little scary when the legendary banner treats me better than the normal ones. I don't know what I've done to bring down the wrath of Anna upon me.

I want to use Celica as my bonus unit, but I haven't had time to build her, so at the moment, I'm using my 4*+10 Gordin. He performs pretty well even if he doesn't score the best. I sacrificed a 5 star Klein a while back to give him a full kit.
Got kicked out of tier 21 last season which wasn't a surprise at all. So I'm guessing I'll be flip-flopping between the two for now. I was going to build either an Eirika or Soleil next, but Morgan kept popping up in my summoning sessions. He scores slightly better than Merric, so once he's built, I'll have to take him for a test drive.

I've been kind of a creeper lately. Haha. But I finally got my life in order and have some time to post. I've got a lot of tags in this topic, so I'll just send out a general "congrats" to people. I've been following a little bit, and I've seen some good success. Also...my condolances (just in case you're dealing with pitybreakers).
I'm sure I'm not the only one. *sobs*First things first, the Brave Heroes banner is officially my WORST banner ever. I had a hard time getting LA!Lyn, but that is nothing in comparison to how awful this particular banner has been. My first pitybreaker came at 5%. Granted, it was a +SPD -DEF Maribelle, so I couldn't complain. But after that, my life was basically full of misery and woe.
I got a Celica (a normal Celica who confused me a lot at first), followed by an M. Morgan, Takumi, Katarina, Elise, and Eldigan.... Finally, Celica appeared with a lovely +RES -ATK nature. XD But at this point, I was so relieved just to have a Brave hero... Now I can pull a free Veronica. I would be more upset by my pitybreakers, but Celica is Distant DEF fodder. M. Morgan is another merge (BTW, I got all the Morgans I need to +10 him). Takumi is a sign that I should build CC Morgan. Katarina has Swift Sparrow and a Ploy. And Elise gives me the fodder to build a healer with a decent kit. I'm actually thinking that I'll take this opportunity to outfit my +7 Maria with some neat skills.
I had some leftover orbs, so I picked away at reds on the legendary banner. Believe it or not, Marth came home pretty easily. He's +RES -HP. Totally fine. And another Gunnthra popped up in the same circle. She was +DEF -RES, so I just merged her into my +SPD -ATK copy.

For Arena Assault, I finally handed out a significant amount of blessings to my team to help boost my score. I also decided to give Cherche and Fir Aether and Dual Rallies. My efforts netted me a new high score of 5,165, which looks sufficient for the 3k-5k bracket. That's more or less where I was before, but I'm much more comfortably positioned within the bracket.
Also, @Rafiel's Aria I saw your team in the Arena today! While I was tempted to fight them, I ended up passing since they were below the score threshold of what I wanted to face. Still, I think it's pretty fun to see familiar names pop up.
Whoa that's cool! Do you remember what my team was ranked? I was running a slightly different team (Mae, Leon, Merric, and Lucius) who got me a TON of defense wins so I'm curious to know where they were sitting at.
As expected, my scores for last week were good enough for tier 20 + the top 3k in AA. New Arena changes are in play now. Gonna be interesting to see how things work out. This week I'm running my Legendary Lucina with wind-blessed Raven, Merric, and Lucius. Lucius is in charge of ATK/DEF ploy debuffs as well as helping with chip damage and heals. I managed to make Lucina get 3+ kills for each map which helped my score despite the fact that I couldn't seem to get above a 740. Ended my first run with a score of 3751 which feels pretty good. I have no idea how that's going to rank, but I've got more than enough crests to try again later in the week.

@mcsilas Congrats on the Sonya! Is she new? I think she's a pretty swell RES tank, so if anything, she makes a good Reinhardt counter if you're ever short on those. And her tome helps her specials hit harder.
My free summon circle had two blue stones. First one was 4* Shigure. Super happy about that because that's the first one I've pulled at 4 stars. Was satisfied with that pull, so I went for the second one, and it was 4 star Tailtiu. Can't say I'm disappointed with that either!

Interesting. I haven't had much luck with my Delthea natures so far, so I wasn't too keen on pulling for her. Klein would be nice for QR or Brave Bow+... But I don't have any strong need for colorless fodder beyond him. And I could have pulled green for potential Libra merges... Unfortunately, I have zero desire to pull for Elincia, but I've been trying to consistently pull red in hopes of getting another Soleil, M. Morgan, or Eirika. Plus, even if I did manage to get Elincia, she'd be a new addition to my Herodex. So red it is!
Second free 5 star of the summer banners.
First Sanaki, and now Eldigan. Can't say I'm disappointed though I do think it's funny that both of these 5 stars popped up as off focus banner units shortly before their banner reruns. The first Eldigan I pulled was like... +RES -ATK. The second one was +HP -SPD. Neither are SUPER optimal. This one is +DEF -HP. I think that's pretty good. Already made him my new merge base. I may treat him to his refine and give him double Fury! Or maybe I should do Brazen ATK/DEF + Fury? Dunno'. At the moment, I've only got one spare copy of his son, and I'm reserving him for
Kiran's loverAlfonse. Sooner or later I'll decide what weapons I want to refine.... lol -

I feel like I never actually use my nice fodder; it just sits there looking nice.A little over 60 orbs got me:

Just probably not this next one.I had some orbs left, so I went back in for one more summon, and I got my Micaiah!!!!! Of course I get her at a 3%. What is this? Of course she's +HP -ATK. lol But you know what? It's fine. +HP is a superboon. Her weapon gives her the extra 3 ATK to make up for the bane. Her ATK is still pretty great for a dancer, and having her is much better than not having her. I think even with -ATK, she'll be able to deal with most of the annoying green armors I have to face.
I got a free Shanna from the Deathblow banner. Other notable pulls include, a 4* Hinata (I have plenty of 3 star copies that I'm too lazy to promote), 2 copies of M. Morgan (which would bring my M. Morgan project up to +7 if I ever get the chance to promote him), and several copies of Caeda. I have more than enough 4* copies of her to make her a 5*+10. She's actually up there in consideration, and I feel like this is a sign... It would have been nice to get the last copy I need for a +10 Soleil or Eirika however...

I've actually never really looked at men's shampoo and stuff before. When I lived at home, my mom bought soap that everyone used. She'd buy "family size" bottles, and I don't believe they were much more than 7 bucks at most. I suppose they were technically "feminine" shampoos, but I never thought of them that way since my father and brother used it as well. Other than the scent maybe being different, is there really a huge difference between shampoo for guys and gals? Like...do men need a slightly different chemical composition to clean their hair? Like I know for my favorite brand of shampoo there are different varieties that do things like control frizz, provide extra moisture to dry hair, provide a little volume, etc. But most of the time, when people buy super high end products, I feel like they're paying for (maybe) better ingredients and the label.
For me, I tend to buy the products that work for me. Some things I'll compromise on. Razors? Don't need the super cute model. Shampoo? I have a specific hair care routine that I like to follow. I'm willing to buy slightly more expensive products if it protects my hair better. PJs? I 100% prefer men's PJ bottoms, but I like underwear for ladies. I'll go to a store like Aerie and do the 5 for $25 deal or whatever. A little expensive, but it's that treat for myself that I enjoy. Bras on the other hand... If it doesn't fit right, you're going to be in for a bad time...doesn't matter if it's cheap or expensive. And bras can be SUPER expensive...
I also feel like ladies are more likely to buy more products. Not speaking for everyone of course just from some personal experiences with my sorority/ladies in my family. But without even adding makeup into the picture, in the shower I think I use anywhere between like...4 to 7 products (shampoo, conditioner, face wash--two different ones that I alternate, shower lotion, body soap, shaving gel, exfoliant....) But I've known a few guys who will buy a 3 in 1 shampoo (shampoo, conditioner, body soap) and only use that. But on top of that I have like...a skin care routine, hair care/styling routine, etc. Part of me wonders if feminine products are more expensive because ladies might just buy more in general?
