  2. Apologies. Is "devoid of any Garonquest blessings" acceptable?
  3. You know, I never quite understood that meme. We've been through, what, have a dozen empires that considered themselves "Roman" to some degree, and they've all fallen. Meanwhile, boobs are still around and don't seem to be leaving any time soon. "Glory of Rome is eternal" my donkey.
  4. Oh hey, I completely read past this before. I like the team, so lemme come up with something free from any Garonquest restrictions... I have played a couple seasons of Football Manager a few years ago, so I am very qualified to this! Going for a milquetoast 4231...
  5. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monarchies_in_Europe#Table_of_monarchies_in_Europe As a Europa Universalis player, I automatically think as the Vatican as a theocracy and not a monarchy (they're very different, EU4 mechanics say so!), but I guess "Elective absolute monarchy" is an accurate description, huh? Interesting to see that Spain (and Monaco) still are patrilinear. You'd think that the "women should have equal status" message should've arrived at the Spanish royal court by this time, but I guess aristocracy is a good place to keep regressive thinking alive.
  6. Carlos II, the last Habsburg king of Spain, only had 10 great-great-great-grandparents instead of the 32 that a regular non-Habsburg person should have, which makes him more inbred than a child of two siblings.
  7. As Armagon said, this quote gets thrown around frequently to show how much political commentary Final Fantasy Tactics has. Which I'm sure it does, but not this specific one. (the fact that the y of "only" overlaps with the portrait's background might've been a hint that something's not entirely kosher about the screenshot)
  8. I respect and share your republican attitude (not in a 'murican sense of the word, heavens forbid), so I deeply regret that I have to inform you that, technically, Garon is a royal. It's either that or The guy/gal who owns the ball, so even though they can't play football to save their life, they are fielded as playmaker and everybody keeps telling them how great they are so that they won't leave in a hissy fit and with the ball: Corrin
  9. GK: Benny Defenders: Camilla - Garon (C) - Xander Wing Backs: Kaze - Niles Midfield: Jacob - Silas - Leo Striker: Charlotte - Soleil Sitting on the bench, but everybody tells them how incredibly important they are for team cohesion: Corrin
  10. I have to admit that I never got too far into FE1 and Gaiden because the gameplay is really slow and clunky. I didn't hate playing them, since (as @Fire Emblem Fan pointed out) FE still has very solid basic gameplay, but I'd rather replay Shadow Dragon than wrestle with FE1's inventory management. But other than that, I genuinely like every game I've played through (which is 6-12). Urge to replay them varies, but I think they're all, at worst, good games.
  11. Following the death of Margaret Thatcher, the song "Ding-Dong! The Witch Is Dead" from the 1939 movie "The Wizard of Oz" rose to #2 of the UK single charts and #1 of the Scottish charts, making it the shortest Top 10 song in history at 51 seconds. Notably, two surviving actors of that film, who played two of the Munchkins singing that song, were rather appalled to see their song used to celebrate an actual person's death. Checking the wikipedia article also taught me that the (tied) second-shortest Top 10 songs in the UK are called "Boris Johnson Is a *bleep*ing *bleep*" and "Boris Johnson Is STILL a *bleep*ing *bleep*". And here I thought Poison Ivy was an eco-terrorist
  12. Banned for reckless tilde usage
  13. "Mayor's office" = government work = waste of tax dollars pesetas euros. QED
  14. Congrats! Now you can start wasting @WraithReborn's tax money. (yes, I know you're Spanish, buuuut...)
  15. In Civilization IV, the technology required to unlock building Mt Rushmore is Fascism. Its main effect is to reduce unhappiness caused by being at war for a prolonged period of time.
  16. I mean... maybe? I still don't really know anything about any 3H plot(s) beyond chapter 5 or so. Apart from information leaking out through memes, I guess. But I recognise degeneracy when I see it
  17. Marcus Licinius Crassus, said to be the richest Roman of all time and the Guy With The Cash of the first triumvirate (alongside Pompey Magnus the famed general and Julius Caesar the cunning politician), was the creator of the first fire brigade in Roman history. However, he most certainly did not do so out of the goodness of his heart - in the (rather frequent) event of a fire, Crassus's men would appear on the scene and do absolutely nothing while their boss would, ah, negotiate with the owner of the burning house: Either sell your property for a fraction of its value, or we can watch together as it burns to the ground. It even seems that his greed was well-known past the borders of the Roman Just-Barely-A-Republic-At-This-Point. According to the later Roman historian Cassius Dio, when Crassus was captured and killed during a disastrous campaign against the Parthian Empire (based in modern Iran), the Parthians poured molten gold into the dead Crassus's mouth and later used his severed head as a prop for a theatre play.
  18. In all fairness, your honour, 'twas just a praaaank, broooo!
  19. Yeah, same. Can be a bit frustrating when all the smart, attractive, amazonian/herculean people that the heir can marry also happen to be not-too-distantly related to them, but still.
  20. Speak for yourself! I, for one, am a proud not-achiever of these: (although I have to call back this old post of mine)
  21. Banned for repeated offences. You're going to get us all killed!
