  1. Tharja just thinks you're hot. She's basically proactive Cordelia. Rhajat had an actual reason. It's not the best reason and it just brings to light the terrible deeprealm concept at every turn, but it is a reason. When she was 5 (so like a week ago Corrin's time) Corrin saved her life when she almost walked off a cliff and that (presumably combined with being basically alone for years at a time) left a distinct impression on her. Her death quote implies meeting Robin in the...past....future...whatever, but that doesn't really come up in her supports I don't think; it's been a while.
  2. Is there a breakdwon on earning hero merit? I thought it was just absed on the levels of the enemies, but I took my arthur squad (three 3 star arthurs and my 5 star level 40 sanaki) into the 8th stratum, facing enemies 10-12 levels higher, with them seeing good action and kills...but they only earned ~2.8 each, which is what they were earning in the 5/6 stratums. Meanwhile i was earning ~3...4 or so, depending with my other maxed out squads.
  3. You also don't get a full team until chapter 6, really. Could see them seeing the splits and not wanting to bother. The cast is already small, but you'd likely only be able to do for one team or the other and that cuts the cast literally in half. It'd probably get samey. SP in Fates & Awakening was a lot more varied and designed around powergaming. This also makes me think that the 3rd set of non-story dlc, those 10 maps definitely a dungeon get real people, might be challenge DLC akin to the second season of Awakening DLC. Would certainly give a greater use to that second series of dlc that's designed around strengthening your team.
  4. I highly doubt anything shown in the dlc will be any more significant than, say, any of the scramble maps. Echoes itself has supports, base conversations and some weird memory system to delivery character details, this is just presumably adding on to that alongside giving a little more motivation to whoever ontop of the stuff is provided.
  5. I found a Life or Death Jaffar in the training tower with 1 resistance. I have never seen anyone have resistance so low, even with life & death. laughed all the way to the bank as sanaki nuked him for 50 damage
  6. I don't see the DLC ever being used to gauge interest in the card game unless the DLC is specifically about the card game some how. Like it goes out of its way to talk about it a lot rather than doing the more likely thing of just featuring the OCs who barely matter and will just make oblique references to what's going on. The DLC could come here and sell well, but it could sell just on the back of "here are some new units and maps to go with them." I don't see them seeing a success there as a go ahead to start bringing over the like what 800 cards that all need to be localized and manufactured? e: If anything, at best its like thunderstar says: they'll put out a few cipher maps in games going forward as an excuse to cannonize the ocs or something.
  7. Quests for this were pretty easy and short. And the prizes are so-so. Didn't previous paralogue quests have more to them or am I just thinking of those weird late-month "challenge quests"
  8. Yeah like it's not saying EVERY banner needs to become a 3-4 star. So far as big popular/important characters go the only one who dips into 3 stars is Robin, after all. But like ginrei says, there's plenty of characters that could easily be new 3-4 fodder especially moving forward. Also, I guess while we're on that subject, I don't see the issue with say Ninian or whoever being an easy pull? The appeal ofa 5 star is that you have one with their full kit unlocked, at a higher stat range, without needing to spend any time and 22000 feathers upgrading one. Person A still got a rare 3-6% version of their favorite character that they spent hundreds of dollars on, but now Person B with their 3 star version can still have her and put the time in if they really want. Or swap Ninian out for whoever, personally Ninian is fine being a 5 star, you get my gist.
  9. I totally agree. Every time I see a rando I'm surprised at worst they're 4 star+ only. Like Rebecca felt like a pretty big shoe-in for 3-4. And I'm sure Lukas & Faye will also be 4-5 stars, even though they could probably just as easily be new 3 stars. Faye in particular would be fitting since she' starts as a villager! e: Like...anything to break up the monotony of a 7th donnel. SEVEN I HAVE ENTIRELY TOO MANY DONNELS AND ARTHURS
  10. Honestly that makes her more endearing just for how m'lady (m'almy) it is. If you're going to have crazy unrequited love, go all the way, I say. e: Oh you know, that's chapter 3. Wonder if she continues to double down on this all the way through chapter 6.
  11. Fates' story was a disaster written by someone who had no business writing a sprawling multifaceted/interconnected story. And I'm not convinced most of the Hidden Truths stuff was even convinced before developing it aside from the awakening trio specifically. Awakening meanwhile, only had some slight story stuff involved and was more just enhancing what was mentioned (the future in dissarray). And Echoes seems to stand well on its own from what can be seen; the story dlc for that will probably more be an excuse to help flesh out the cast even more rather than dumping 30 minutes of exposition on you that should have been in the main game And aside from that I like to think IntSys isn't deaf and has heard about the complaints with Fates' nonsense. Pretty sure that's gotten vocal pushback on both sides of the pacific, yeah? I mean, again, Echoes' seems fine considering like 95% of it is newly written. BUT YOU KNOW i guess this is all kind of moot because we dont even know anything about this. who knows, maybe it will be inexplicably story-lite across the board!
  12. I've been taking assorted units through the tower and I really enjoy how easy the s skill system is. I figured it'd be way clunkier but its nice that you can pretty easily swap skills between characters
  13. They'll probably use standard class outfits with appropriate personal color schemes+win animations where applicable
  14. I'm not seeing the issue here? They've outlined exactly what will be in the season pass. All this is doing is let you buy it all up front before it's out (ideally for a discount, but we'll see). There's 20 maps (not counting the cipher crossover), if people want to buy the full thing now, let them? This is standard nintendo fair for a while now. Mario Kart 8 did it, that 3ds mario golf game did it, Breath of the Wild is doing it and I'm sure there's other examples. Smash didn't do it but they probably didn't have a road map planned. And the only different between Fates/Awakening and this is that those two games just bundled related maps together rather than a "buy it _all_ now" bundle. And that will probably still be an option here, i imagine.
  15. If something like pokemon shuffle, which I would argue is an incredibly worse game across the board, can stay alive and semi-relevant despite massive incredible player base drop offs after 2 years, I'm sure Heroes will do fine. At the very least, it's probably a question to revisit in 6 months or a year and see the state of the game
  16. 28 orbs and off I went Round 1: 3 blues. a good start 3 Star Donnel, 3 Star Robin (WHY DOES THE MOVIE PLAY ON A THREE STAR), 3 Star Robin well. shoot. Round 2: 2 blues 5 star spring Lucina. YES. Decided to back out since I still had 10 orbs left and I'd like to try for a camilla Round 3: 3 star nino. yeah ok, hubris and all Round 4, the final pull: Another 5 star spring lucina! I wont be able to earn enough orbs before it goes away for another pull barring a surprise gift, but even though I didn't get Camilla it's really hard to complain about 2 Spring Lucinas. Now to figure out what to do with the spare...
  17. the banner images are in a different file type now, so they can't be hacked out. Everything else is there and easily accessible though.
  18. Cart space is really likely not an issue, especially at this point in the 3ds' life.
  19. I do have a spare 4* gunter i can piecemeal for a frederick and a bunch of sullies (all 3 stars, though), so i'll keep this in mind.
  20. It's pretty cool how skill inheiritance can make so many seemingly trash units into anywhere ranging from usable to great. Costly, but cool that your favorites aren't necessarily trash forever. Mostly.
  21. Aw, that's a bummer. Gunter performed well so I figured Jagen could do pretty solid too. I guess all his bonus points got put into res? Guess I'll shift the question to: who are better units who would enjoy those skills? Or would it be any cavalry that doesn't have a must-have c skill e: Looking it up it looks like, yes, Jagen did basically put all hsi points into resistence. Gunter has higher HP, Attack, and Defense across the board. No wonder he performed better.
  22. I got a (3 star, so he'd be in for a long haul) Jagen last night. Gunter impressed me and I see Jagen has the complimentary cavalry skill. What are the usual go-to plans for him? I'd probably use him on my current cavalry team (Eldigan/Gunter/Ursula and then sometimes I put Clarine in) most of the time. I don't really have a lot of good lance horses so mayeb I'll put him to general use too?
  23. I think Fae & Faye will see less issues just because they're shorter names with less repeated letters. Likewise, I don't see Tobin/Robin getting a lot of mix up
  24. For years I got Celica & Cecilia confused and I guarantee this will only get worse now that one is more recent and along side the other. I do have a mid-20s subaki, so cellica's just been playing catch up while I do the same with Sophia & Niles. Niles is pretty fun.
  25. Man it is going to take ages to get Celica & Subaki up to the caliber to tackle level 35 enemies. Thankfully it's only 5 each. Guess I'll get them to the 35 range and then put buffers to good use.
