  1. I'm not as optimistic as you are. The only thing I liked a lot from the 3DS era is CQ's gameplay and Echoes (and Echoes is a remake so eh). Just...make a game that has gameplay as fun as CQ with a story that's at least alright.
  2. From all the Tellius characters they could have chosen they went out of their way to choose Sanaki. They could have gone for Elincia or if she's not popular enough (I honestly don't know how popular she is in the CYL) they could have gone with Mia or Nephenee. Those two could have been funny bride characters at the very least. Sanaki has no romantic partners or interactions that would give you the idea that she has romantic feelings for some one and I'd say that she's a stronger character for it. A bride outfit really doesn't fit her.
  3. How about Leif? He makes mistakes and those mistakes do have consequences yet I don't see a lot of hate for the guy. Sure that might be in part because not a lot of people have played his game but still.
  4. (the ones I've bolded are still my favorite starters from that region) Leafgreen: Charmander. A pokemon that looks like a dragon in its final form? Sign me up! Gold/Soulsilver: Cindaquil. Gold was my first game and I loved charizard in the anime so I had to go with the fire type in this one. Emerald/Saphire/ORAS: Torchic. I had a weak spot for fire types at the time. Platinum: Turtwig. I wanted to do something different so what better way than to choose a grass type. BW2: Snivy. I liked Snivy's design. XY: Froakie because I really liked his final evolution's typing. USUM: Rowlet because owls are cool and his subtype in his final form is original.
  5. Umbreon I love how the guy looks and he also made me appreciate defensive pokemons a lot more.
  6. No, that's not what I was saying. I was saying that because of IS antics with Nowi and Elise in the past I don't see why I should give them the benefit of the doubt with BrideSanaki and not assume that when they were discussing what characters they were going to put on the wedding banner that some guy said "Let's put Sanaki in a wedding gown, the lolicons would love that!". There's also the "don't get any weird ideas" line which is a really not so subtle way of IS to acknowledge the crowd they're pandering to and shows that they knew what they were doing. You can't marry Tiki (at least not her loli form) or Fae and the warriors team were at least smart enough to give Tiki a flower girl costume.
  7. Yeah and this is why context matters. IS has shown that they are willing to pander to the weird otaku crowd by putting nowi, elise, witch nowi, sakura and nyx in their games. They don't get the benefit of the doubt. As for EoE, it's been years since I've seen it but EoE never glorifies fanservice (you've seen the "I'm so fucked up" scene) and Rei's relationship with Gendo is never portrayed as a a positive thing (I assume you're referring to that). Also, Anno unlike IS is someone who is very critical of otaku.
  8. Japanese people have no high ground to stand on considering how toxic some otaku fans act over there. As far as I know people in the west have been complaining about BrideSanaki but they haven't done anything like sending an attack of death threats or anything like that.
  9. That's what I meant. I'll edit my post.
  10. They're great games. Tellius is great. PoR is probably the best "good" FE game in the sense that it's the only FE game that at no point really fails at a gameplay or story point (every other FE game makes some mistakes here and there) but it doesn't really excel in anything either. It's my fourth favorite FE game. I do have to mention while I play most of my FE games on normal I still think the game was too easy even on a normal difficulty. RD is my second favorite FE game after FE4 and while it does have issues at times in both story and gameplay sections (I hate part 4's gameplay and there's a certain plot element I'm not a big fan of and no support conversations) I think the game mostly makes up for that for doing a lot of unique and cool stuff. Controlling different armies, having different parts where you control different characters, a lord who is put in a very unique position, having a lot of different objectives.
  11. I much prefer limited resources because playing a game with limited resources makes it a lot more exciting because you know you can't just grind your units up.
  12. I haven't even played F/GO but daaaaaaaaamn that's some good stuff
  13. Multiple protagonists with LI? Now that's something new. (as far as I know, I haven't played TRS/BS)
  14. Games are interactive so yes, you really do need to at least play through some chapters of an FE game if you want your opinion to have merit.
  15. On the cover picture of the game you can see an obvious lord character and a noble looking girl with a staff which makes me wonder, is this a game with 2 protagonists (as in either dies it's game over) and if yes I really wonder how Kaga handles an important female character. Opinions on female protagonists in the FE series has been mixed after all.
  16. Eh, personally it wouldn't really bother me if someone called me that, I mean I did start with Awakening so eh.
  17. I do like to echo what some other people have said. FE has always been an anime inspired game, no doubt about that but Fates is pushing certain things way too far. Smarthphone was a great ironic watch. I just couldn't help but laugh with how many things Toyota pulled out of his ass. At least your typical LN writer tries to set up some limits (even if they don't mean that much by the end) this guy though, whew. That's something I never understood. LN anime in general is very poorly sold. They almost never break the 8.000 "great sales barrier". Is the LN sales boost/merchandise so good that they make anime just to increase the sales for the LN/merchandise?
  18. I recommend against it. Aside from the already mentioned Re Zero and Konosuba a lot of Isekai stories are stories where a character is transported and is a nice guy who attracts all of the girls and is overpowered OR the MC gets transported (and weak) but there's some edgy twist in it that makes the story a little bit darker. (I do admit that there's a Korean LN I like that follows that formula).
  19. Saw the FSN HF movie. As a VN reader it was good. I know they skipped some Illya scenes but I'm sure they'll be in the next movie so eh. If I hadn't read the VN however I would have been super confused.
  20. Yup, seen it a few times. My favorite is the Genny sheep part. I can never get enough of that one.
  21. Eh, I just recognize a lot of the tropes I dislike in FE13/14 more in modern anime than in the older anime so that's why I say it like that. You know stuff like the sibling romance, a 1000 year old loli, isekai twist.
  22. Cool. When Kaga's name drops it's almost always to reference FE4/FE5 and almost never TRS/Berwick saga so it's good to hear that TRS is also a good game. That reminds me, I remember reading about one specific awesome thing Kaga did with a character in TRS on the subreddit in a thread about gameplay/story integration: Just thought that was really neat and I would love to see stuff like that in VS.
  23. I haven't played any of Kaga's post IS games so I'm interested in playing this one and seeing the stuff the old man has learned when he went of to do his own thing. The stuff I'm reading here does sound very interesting.
  24. Yup. With Nosferatu she becomes a unit who you can send in the middle of a pack of enemies and she'll easily deal with most of them. Of course she's still a mage with low defense so don't be too ballsy with her and have some units close to her so they can finish off the rest but I'm sure you get the idea.
  25. Julia: Give her a Seliph and Lana support. No more then that because pre endgame she's always been a very kind but silent girl who only speaks up when she feels it is necessary and I think giving her too many supports wouldn't fit that part of her. Also give her more dialogue at the end of the game, considering her change, role and status she has in the world she really needed more dialogue at the end. Oh and give her some final boss dialogue. Finn: He's fine in FE5 but in FE4 Gen 1 he needs supports with Quan and Ethlyn because we really don't have enough happy Finn moments. Tine: Aside from doing the obvious and giving her supports I really don't know what else they could do, she's easily one of the best Gen 2 characters and they already develop her fairly well with minimal dialogue. Tiki: She needs a support with Nowi (yes I know about the dlc dialogue) and Chrom but more importantly than that they should have made her a character that was a lot more important in the story than some bonus unit you can get in a paralogue. I mean she's one of the last divine dragons! For all that hype she got in FE1 and FE3 about how she could destroy the world if she doesn't control herself they sure didn't do a lot with her in the conflict with Grima. Jill: Hmmm...maybe give her more supports with Laguz characters aside from Lethe? Can't really say too much about her because just like Tine there's nothing that really bothers me with her. Nyx: Give her more fitting clothes.
