  1. I think it is time to swoop in and combine some of these ideas into something even better. Clearly it should add 1 male and 1 female each generation (with substitutes). For first Gen we should add a male Dragon Knight of Thracia, with minor Dain blood (the only holy blood we never see as a player character) who joins due to the way he feels he was mistreated, despite being of Dain blood he is ill treated due to being born to a woman of Northern Thracia, and one of the Northern Thracians (Finn or Quan) recognizes and sympathizes. The Female should be a Pirate formerly of Miletos, who is working for the Orgahil pirates now, but can be dissuaded from her raid due to her seeing the rest of the crew going behind Brigid's back (and thus joins earlier in chapter 3). Her first kid will be an axe Armour daughter that promotes to Baron and was raised in Isaach, and a dark mage son that was taken in by the Loptyr church in his youth only to joins with the remnants of Leif's host. The only interesting thing about the replacements would be to have the Dark mage replacement be Salem.
  2. 21. Linde: Summer Rays 35. Tiki: Legendary Dragon 166. Owain: Chosen One 174. Azura: Lady of Ballads 181. Ryoma: Dancing Samurai New Total 208
  3. In the latter games Casual became a bit of a technical term due to Casual mode, and I think having that technical meaning has softened the connotation of the term for FE when compared to other gaming communities. A casual play-through means to me playing the game as you want to play it, without letting others dictate through promise or comment or comparison the way that you play. A casual LTC makes me think of fast play, but without doing the tedious legwork of comparing your play to other LTC strats and finding ways of refining them, or surpass them, or justifying them.
  4. No updates since last April, and when the Project Exile group tried to contact the creator, there was no response.
  5. Kris is the canon name of the female character in Crystal, and Crystal was the first game to give you the option for a female main character. The battle tower is what taught me the basic toxic stall strategy; I was so irritated seeing it used against me, that I trained up a Blissey with Hardboil, Toxic and a little coverage just to give that tower a taste of its own medicine. Plus Steelix is a fairly good poke in Gen 2, just overwhelmed by power-creep in future games. You could always switch it with Zubat, if you aren't satisfied with Hoothoot. One suggestion for a sorta late team mate is the extreme speed Dratini, although it is a bit of an Est archetype of Pokemon.
  6. Updates to List 64. Julia: Naga's Blood 84. Clarine: Refined Noble 101. Lucius: The Light 193. Camilla: Steamy Secrets New Total: 203
  7. Got to start with Leif, chasing the Thracia dream. If he losses first round the obvious switchover is to Ethlyn, the last Jugdral contender. My 3rd round switch would probably be in this order: Owain, Mikoto, Dress Corrin (M), Lissa
  8. Judge this beautiful ballot (sorry for the lack of picture) 1.Travant 2. Mareeta 3. Altena 4. Asbel 5. Patty 6. Osian 7. Ced
  9. Priam could be Ike's decedent in the same way Marth is a decedent of Anri, through their sibling (so Priam may biologically result from the paired Mist-Boyd ending from RD).
  10. Alas I think I will make one last minute change to my voting plans, ending with Ced, that way I split my votes perfectly between the two Jugdral games, thus my final Battle becomes: Travant, Mareeta, Altena, Asbel, Patty, Osian, and Ced
  11. Playing Crystal, and not playing as Kris; what an opportunity missed. The Name Rater is in Goldenrod, which you should reach fairly close to when he evolves, and then you can just update the name as your Pokes evolve (and thus keep them grammatically correct). Clearly they should be captured the same way units are in either Thracia or Fates. Have fun, Crystal is one of my favorites as well (the only one of the old games I bothered to get on VC). Just out of curiosity do plan on trying to run through the Battle Tower at any point?
  12. Time to put forth a new contender, but Celica. There are a lot of Gen 2 children, more than one person could reasonably handle if they didn't have experience dealing with numerous children. Celica was raised, and helped out at the Novis Priory, and Priories in Valentia double as orphanages. Celica has at least some experience raising masses of children, and knows people who do so professionally. For the Fates kids, who are stated to be hidden away to avoid the war, Celica has her own experiences to draw on for maintaining the safety of that kind of secrecy. Additionally she has could help those poor kids deal with the trauma of absent parents having experienced a similar situation herself.
  13. @Critical Sniper I think B/W stands for Battles and Wins, which are important for the "Combat" rank. He is mostly being thorough by including it, the only time I have ever seen that rank drop below 5 stars was Mekkkah's negative growths run where he went out of his way to avoid kills (to reduce experience gain), and even then it only dropped to 4.
  14. Despite the hate for the mid results I don't think it is what is wrong with CYL. The mid results push people to vote for their favorite of those who have a chance, while still allowing them to vote for whomever they want. The way people can vote multiple times could possibly be fixed (or at least reduced) by having people need to sign in to a Nintendo account (even if it isn't linked to FEH), but doing so would greatly reduce engagement. Most of CYL's issues is with the actions of voters, and the actions that the FEH team can take to reduce it any further would undermine the process even worse.
  15. And the 4chan Camilla salt voter haven't tainted her victory? No side here is without sin, and none deserve the moral high ground. There is no vote here that leads to a healthier community, and claiming there is only adds to the toxicity felt by those who want to vote for someone else. Edit: Sorry if this came across as too harsh, I wrote it before seeing your edit GrandeRampel. I hope there is less dishonesty in the voting than people claim.
  16. The mid results notably do not show a vote count. 1st and 3rd could literally be separated by 2 votes for all we know. Stop trying to attach a moral weight to the people who want to vote for Eirika or F Robin or Micaiah or anyone else simply because you want the vote to go your way. Sinking to the level of those calling Camilla voter selfish does not help your campaign.
  17. Well this is depressing. Here is hoping that they add a Thracia character before there are more Camillas than characters from that entire game. This is petty but I kinda hope they give her brave alt the Reinhardt and Olwen alt treatment.
  18. I don't think so, the difficulty is its own reward; but I will note multiple main entries to the series do have incentives for beating harder modes and/or classic mode. In the Binding Blade two of the trial maps are locked behind a hard mode completion. In Path of Radiance again one of the trial maps is locked behind a hard mode completion. Radiant Dawn locks its hardest difficultly behind a completion of its second highest difficulty. In New Mystery of the Emblem, completing the game on hard unlocks more reclassing options by combining the two male class sets, and completing the game on Lunatic unlocks Lunatic reverse and some stat boosters in the map prep shop, and it even has an incentive to play on classic by only unlocking Classic Lunatic Reverse if you completed Lunatic on Classic. Awakening locks Lunatic + behind completing it on Lunatic. In Fates a colored symbol for each path and difficulty is unlocked for the player card as a bragging right incentive. Echoes has awards for the player card for those who complete the game on Hard and Classic, with a renown boost attached to each (as well as the bragging rights).
  19. One question for clarification, with the How will squads be replenished question, does the after every level answer mean after each map, or after a character gains a level?
  20. Might as well cover the votes I have/will waste to try and convince the FEH staff that Jugdral fans exist. For the First day Travant (he is the only villain I voted for in the last CYL who didn't get a GHB yet). I plan on switching between Genealogy and Thracia characters so the second day I voted for Mareeta. For the third I have voted for Altena. For the fourth my plan is for Asbel. If they show the mid results and by some impossible whim of fate any Jugdral character is even close to having a chance of winning I may dump my vote onto them, but otherwise I think I will help some of the other Jugdral fans. Penciling in a Patty vote for day 5, a Osain vote for day 6, and a Julia vote for day 7.
  21. Updates to List: 78. Gwendolyn: Adorable Knight 88. Sophia: Nabata Prophet 138. Tibarn: Lord of the Air 139. Reyson: White Prince 140. Naesala: Sky's Shadow New Total: 199
  22. Looking back at Warriors I think you are right, a lot of what I liked there was me reading it with the context of FE12 Marth in mind. I get the feeling the Omega Force people may have either been given restrictive instructions with regard to returning FE character's portrayal or were too afraid of the backlash they might receive if they didn't play it as safe as possible with them. With regard to FEH they really do not have much time with any of the characters, although this quote might interest you: I think every portrayal of his has some serious issues that makes him feel bland. FE1 was made on the adorable potato know as the Famicom and like a lot of RPGs of the era it barely has room for the plot on those cartridges, let alone character development (plus a lot of people have played the remakes without the originals for FE1-3). FE3 has an issue similar to FE1 due to them shoving two games into one, although it is no where near as pronounced (plus the remake point still stands). I think I covered the way FE11's presentation made him seem bland in a previous post. In FE12 the perfect, bland, can do no wrong player avatar, and lightning rod for IS's browner and drippier writing (Kris) can overshadow Marth with his/her intrusive presence. I think your point covers the reason Warrior's portrayal feels so bland perfectly. Meanwhile FEH requires both luck and the player to already be invested in Marth enough to even find his portrayal, and thus anyone who didn't already find him interesting won't find anything to change their opinion.
  23. While I would not like all of these to appear at once, and they would have to fit the direction the game is going, these are the mechanics that might be interesting to see return: Leadership stars (the FE5 versions)- they give an extra distinguishing feature to characters who are supposed to be leaders, and enemy leadership stars can lead to interesting choices. Marriage/Children - I still like this mechanic even in Awakening and Fates FE4 style Arena - Really the best version, the limits on it keeps it from being overly abused, and gives serious consequences to a loss without literal death Build Growth Rate - I have always liked this mechanic, having this weight reduction, and vital rescue/capture stat capable of changing without some rare item makes it more dynamic and interesting. Capture - One of FE5s most interesting mechanic, although the game would need the sort of limit resources you have in FE5 to keep it from getting out of hand FE4 Size Maps - The game would need a very generous saving system like FE4 to compensate, but there are some cool things that can happen with large maps. Stamina - When it isn't trivialized by S drinks it forces the player to change out its party from time to time, although to smooth out some of the FE5 issues they should try to make sure there are enough unis to act as spares (to keep from having the single mage/healer/flier being exhausted issue from coming up) and have a way of dealing with what happens when a unit needed to recruit another is exhausted
  24. In no order other than by game, I will list 200 characters (in the spoiler section) I like, of those 104 are in Heroes, 94 are not, and 2 have representation from different games than the one prefered
