  1. Tethys exists, so no. But seriously, this topic can't end well.
  2. omg chapter 5 in bravely default aaaaa
  3. It's the opposite of Final Fantasy II, where people die left and right. Hell, entire towns get ransacked by a nasty cyclone. Like, you can't even enter the towns after that happens.
  4. The demo does a shitty job of representing stuff. It's missing some things like Special moves and it's basically a series of fetch quests. The full game isn't like that.
  5. Speaking of, the Wonderswan was a very funny version.
  6. There are tons of releases, but there's four different ones in terms of mechanics. The original Super Famicom release that many ports are based off of. The PS1, Wonderswan, GBA, mobile phone (Japan ones, not smartphones) and PSP releases are derivatives of that one. Then there's the Final Fantasy "II" release in the US. Mechanics were dumbed down, items, spells, abilities and whatnot were dummied out (Cecil's Dark Wave is an example). There is a third in the form of Final Fantasy IV Easy Type, which was based off the FF"II" release, but restored Cecil's Dark Wave, introduced new items that made things even easier and in some weird cases, enemy patterns were changed. Zeromus has a new sprite (And slightly different attack pattern). The sprite eventually made its way over to become Zeromus EG in the GBA/PSP releases. Then, there's the DS version which throws everything one would expect out the window. Everything was overhauled basically. If you want actual releases, here's a list: Original SFC version Final Fantasy "II" Final Fantasy IV EasyType (Japan) The PS1 release in Chronicles Wonderswan Color (Which also had very different sounding music! :D) Game Boy Advance Nintendo DS Mobile phones (Japan only. The graphics were redone to match up with the Wii version of After Years, basically) PSP iOS/Android (Basically just the DS version)
  7. Easier than the SNES version? No shit considering Final Fantasy "II" was horribly dumbed down. If you mean the original release, then yeah, the DS version is still harder. You poor soul. GBA version is so buggy. (Europe and Japan's 1.1 release were better about that though).
  8. That theory is also wrong. It was originally pitched as a sequel to Final Fantasy: 4 Heroes of Light.
  9. At least the original version's name had a subtle throwback to the Final Fantasy series. Bravely Default: Flying Fairy The subtitle is actually quite genius. Call it a hunch. As for the title, who cares. I prefer the game itself. One should simply question why they didn't continue the 4 Heroes of Light title when this game is obviously a spiritual successor to 4HoL. Hell, the nemeses battles use a medley of two songs from that game.
  10. No, then you'd have both fanbases crying that the protag isn't from any of the franchises.
  11. It's not BS, it's a throwback to SMTI and II. [/sarcasm]
  12. I just keep my age visible because why not.
  13. omg bravely default is so awesome I am now Tiz in honor of it

    1. Cowboy Karimov

      Cowboy Karimov

I lost my 3DS, so I'm getting one secondhand(hopefully the red one with Zelda installed on it) and Bravely Default. Everyone on this forum can't seem to stop talking about it.

  14. Interesting mechanic, but fuck the poffins in D/P. HG/SS did it right.
  15. Actually, that's been my view for all of them. Even the Jugdral games, much as I love them, have the same issues with characters being rather cut and dry. It's ultimately understandable though. There are tons of characters per Fire Emblem game, so trying to make overarching developments that are actually full of intrigue rather than being predictable is pretty difficult. Also, I love how you're making it sound like I'm defending Awakening even though I just said that I agree that the character depth is shit.
  16. Because sausagefest. That is all. Anyway, in my game? Original file was Olivia (This was what I was hoping for ever since her reveal prior to the Japan release, so no I wasn't copying Rey). Other files have had Cordelia and Tiki. Overall answer? Tiki.
  17. Hee hee. Kamiizume in Bravely Default is voiced by Liam O'Brien. Though he's not using the "Inigo voice". I'd say he's using the badass baritone instead, a la Lucius in Unchained Blades.
  18. Or the reviewers are shit at knowing what depth actually is.
  19. Are you implying I was totally serious there? You're a funny man.
