Or maybe it's because for us 'Muricans, the past songs are the only JP-esque ones we had at the time, so they kind of stand out compared to the other songs. Seriously, it's quite jarring to play with the US soundtrack and then going to the past and hearing the JP leitmotifs in the past.

Hey Rey? Crazy thought I'd do if I had a capture card: Record Inigo getting a critical/activating a skill. Music cuts out and plays Love's Vagrant from Bravely Default. Even if it isn't technically a Bravely Default song, the Nemeses' battle theme is a pretty awesome fusion of two good songs from Final Fantasy: The 4 Heroes of Light. For reference, the two songs from 4HoL: Battle with Demons and A Strong Enemy Other than that, "The Serpent that Devours the Horizon" is pretty amazing. And it melds the four characters' leitmotifs in at one point.

I'd have done it too. Only difference is that TE can actually understand moonrunes. I'd just be pulling that out of my rectum.

They're also not villains. Ultros/Orthros is just an annoyance and by the World of Ruin, he's out of the picture. Gilgamesh, however, is very much neutral. A bit less so in FFV seeing as he's Exdeath's crony for a fair amount of time, but you see he's actually a pretty understanding, if odd, guy. When he finds out Galuf kicked the bucket, even he's pretty humbled. Let's also not forget his self-destruction against Necrophobe.

Last I checked, emulators themselves really aren't illegal. By that logic, Nintendo would be in deep shit due to using emulators for their own properties. The issue that potentially arises is when the emulator writer actually were to steal code from the company to write the emulator. But then there are those who actually write the emulators themselves having read documentation and whatnot. Those ones really aren't illegal. Now the ROM files? That's a huge gray area. Downloading them off of sites is illegal, even if you own the game. They can't really stop you from dumping your own image, but that's not an easy feat for John/Jane Q. Public. Obviously, they'd go after you if you started distributing said dumped image, but simply keeping it to yourself? They can't really do anything about it. Just saying is all.
