It's darker than the outline color, so it should be lightened. It also doesn't fit fe7 colors.

No, it wasn't. The way he was facing, it would be awkward in conversation when he moves about. Plenty of characters look off in the distance, and nothing is weird about them.

I'm on a never-ending quest to save my girlfriend make these aura sprites better than the regular ones!

Use the select tool to grab your sprite. Just your sprite. Then resize it by 50 for height and width. Put that in the box, cut off what doesn't fit, then clean it up.
