  1. Nice! I said I'd add my stuff since I actually finished a while ago, so here I go: OH CECIIIIIILIA, I'M DOWN ON MY KNEES 42/318 So. Sophia sucks. Her bases suck and her starting level sucks and her growths suck and her class uber-sucks in FE6. Versus the anima mages on her starting map, she gets doubled even without taking into account the AS loss from an E-rank tome, and has hitrates in the low 40s against them while facing decently high hitrates, even though she has WTA. And the one with Aircalibur can usually ORKO her even though RES is supposed to be her strong point. And as if she weren't bad enough in a technical sense, it's all her fault that Cecilia, a mounted unit, joins you in the middle of a fucking desert (not even starting you on the edge of the desert in a normal-terrain area, like FE7 (except HHM) and FE8 have the decency to do). And then IS says that she's also plot-important, cameos her in FE7, and generally tries to make you like her. Did I mention I hate Sophia? Gotta agree with PYTC on that one. So, the original plan was to escort her to get the Guiding Ring (it's sellable, after all), then make her strip (er, trade it to Cecilia), and have Cecilia frog-march her to the boss for summary execution (which would probably cost 2 extra turns that I'd compensate myself for). But it turns out that she can't even survive long enough for that, so instead I had her run to the far southwest corner so she can get chopped in half by an axe bigger than she is (and maybe with some luck, cause a Devil Axe backfire), distracting the bandits for long enough to let Roy and Cecilia regroup to deal with them. Roy and Cecilia stomp around in the Boots area until they are found, and Roy uses them immediately. The Boots are the only treasure I care about, since (a) Cecilia will never build enough staff rank to use Warp so it would only help on a couple of chapters with Niime and Yodel; (b) without fliers, the only ways to get into that area require dealing with a Mamkute, and my weapon supply will already run low even though Roy starts the chapter armed to the teeth. Roy uses the Boots as soon as they are obtained. I wanted to have Cecilia use Speedwings right away because they help her quite a bit on this chapter, but there simply wasn't enough inventory space. Roy brought out 2 Killing Edges, an Iron Sword, Thunder for Cecilia, and a Vulnerary. Believe me, much trial and error went into this selection. Because of the slow movement through the desert, it becomes necessary to tank the entire Rose and Maggie crew, and going around the south side of the hill proves necessary - even though aggroing a pack of wyverns is forced this way, whereas you can escape the ones in the north if you're careful - because it avoids some annoying Mercs and a Killing Edge!Hero who cause major problems, whereas the fighters from the south edge would be aggro'd if you approach from the west edge anyway. Dealing with Randy is difficult even once all the other units are dealt with. I think I needed a crit to be assured of success, since I've run out of healing by this point and that Vendor doesn't sell more Vulneraries. I did buy some Pure Water and a crapload of Aircalibur, though. In retrospect, I overdid that; there were relatively few enemies later that Cecilia could 1HKO or 2HKO with Aircalibur but not with Fire, and Fire tomes have more uses. I got the C support during the boss battle. Roy 20.00 40*hp 11/16/18/19/8*/8, +2 Mov, +2 Con, C Cecilia. Cecilia 9.83 35hp 14/10/12/13/8/15, C Roy. Yes, Cecilia gained almost 9 levels here, even with Roy trying to do most of the work. It's that much of a slog with two non-flying units (Sophia totally doesn't count). Return of the Ch1 Music 25/343 Roy equips 3 Killing Edges, a Dragonshield (which he uses on the first turn), and a Vulnerary. Cecilia takes 3 Aircaliburs, the Speedwings (which she uses somewhere in the first few turns when she can catch a breath), and Mend. The plan: Without Warp, everyone has to go around the spiral. Without Lalum, Percival has to be dispatched. Boots!Roy rushes to the fort near the mountains, and Cecilia takes out some units from the south of that area, positioning herself precisely to avoid being swarmed while getting near the village quickly enough to distract (and then take out) Garret. Igrene's goal is to dispatch Percival with the Killer Bow (she needs 1 crit and 1 normal hit, at 72 hit / 27 crit, and needs to not get killed by his henchmen). I tried a few different tactical ideas with her, and she proved to be quite unlucky with crits on Percival, which was annoying. Roy ended up getting the Percival kill while still in the fort, which slowed this down a bit (I think I had a 21-turn run earlier, but that was paired with a 50-turn Ch14, and then I lost both by accidentally loading a savestate that I had been using to test Ch14 strategies). Igrene survives, ends up using the entire Killer Bow, and gains 2 levels. She buys a bunch of door keys and a chest key for later use. Once the initial rush is dealt with, everyone plows through the rest of the reinforcements with no real strategy applicable or required. Cecilia takes out Raeth while standing on the hill to his southeast, and Roy seizes. Roy 20.00 40*hp 11/16/18/19/8*/8, +2 Mov, +2 Con, C Cecilia. Cecilia 12.65 38hp 16/11/14*/13/8/15, C Roy. The Narshen's Capitol (alt. Hugh's Your Daddy?) 54/397 Yes, fifty-four. This is largely because I wandered around less than efficiently getting all the treasure, selling a bunch (as well as stuff sold pre-chapter), in order to get 2 Angelic Robes each for Roy and Cecilia from the Secret Shop. This turns out to be overkill; 2 robes for Cecilia is a good idea since she can't heal herself, but the heal-able and good-at-HP-level-ups Roy doesn't really need them, plus there's another Robe that he'll get in Ch20. So that obviously cost a lot of turns and I would do this differently if I had to go through this hell again. The hard part was keeping Hugh alive in the early part. Roy and Cecilia both take the east path, since they don't really want to get split up, and then roflstomp their way to the throne (except with not that much rofl'ing involved) while Hugh cleans out the east treasure room. This requires a slight delay to deal with the mamkute and the ambush-spawn reinforcements that will pwn Hugh if he's left by himself. Everyone heads to the northwest, where Cecilia uses Hugh's Elfire tome 4 times to take out the wall. Hugh switches Cecilia to Aircalibur on that turn and Roy rescues Hugh (the Ch13 Body Ring enables him to do this) so that Zeiss will be forced to attack Cecilia on EP and get pwned. After buying some stuff, everyone goes down to the other treasure room (aggroing and taking out those enemies), gets the treasure and goes back to sell that and buy robes again. Finally it's time to take on the boss. (The stationary Mamkute on the winding west path is ignored.) Actually, I think I had Hugh run back and forth while Roy and Cecilia were in the throne room starting the assault already, and they finished using the robes either during or after the battle. Narshen is kind of a dick. He has a Runesword which is a troll weapon, the Delphi Shield which I can't steal as I don't have a thief recruited, and high def and mag. Aircalibur!Cecilia doesn't do too much to him, and he can counter for quite a bit even versus Cecilia's 15 Res. So the plan is to use all 5 uses of Bolting on him first (I really am going to need the Hammerne staff later), to weaken him while he can't counter. He still gets throne healing, though, which sucks. Fortunately, I get the B support while this is going on, and when Cecilia switches to Aircalibur, she has 80% display hit facing only 40% with the support bonus. There are 3 rounds of combat here and the Runesword never hits. Which is good, because Bolting at 62% display hit only hit 2 times out of 5. Roy 20.00 54hp*** 11/16/18/19/8*/8, +2 Mov, +2 Con, B Cecilia. Cecilia 16.34 56hp** 19/14/14*/14/9/15, B Roy. As I mentioned earlier, I somehow didn't get the A support until inside the throne room of Ch22. :/ In the next post, we visit Ilia.
  2. The thing is, on reflection, Marcus is actually not so OP now because he's hard to equip and a single tome doesn't last that long when you're tanking. Although I have to say, having a jeigan (can we still call him that?) be your primary healer is... weird. Also, Erk seems pretty much useless now, and basically just supplies Marcus with another tome... Re palettes: most of them look completely corrupt for battle animations, but the lords actually look surprisingly good.
  3. Er... I'm the one with 188, Refa's still about to start 26x. Also, Horace and I just finished reporting those results.
  4. It becomes awesomely broken in ENM btw. Eliwood is now Hector, but Hector is still Hector and Matthew is still a thief. Also, Guy has Shine which he can't use, and Marcus has Mend which he can't use. In HNM: It takes two turns to break the wall which is annoying - could you give Matthew a Hand Axe? Oh, and Wire pretty much requires a critical to defeat :/ But then Ch12 appears and you have Marcus with fucking Luna (to say nothing of the awesomeness that is Cav!Oswin), and things seem to suddenly go from luck-based and otherwise impossible, to trivial. Guy still has unusable Shine in HNM. A lot of enemies seem to be missing, especially reinforcements. I don't think I'm supposed to have a map clear of enemies on turn 4 in Ch15, even on Normal, and nothing shows up after that either. Oh, and when Serra attacks, she doesn't really attack in the battle animation. And Lyn is still Lyn even though she's supposed to be Eliwood now.
  5. ? You have the option to decline the promotions and hold on to the Solar/Lunar Brace.
  6. He already noted in chat that he forgot to make the collar yellowish match the armor-accent yellowish. Personally, though, I think all the reddish-purples just clash. I'm very much a fan of Miledy's armor on Wendy, geometry-wise, but the red has got to change. I'm thinking light blue, and a dark blue headband... Yeah, I think you have a point there. I knew something was bugging me but I couldn't quite put my finger on it. I was thinking of it as "her head looks disproportionately small" but that didn't seem quite right...
  7. He was 18 IIRC, but I figure he wouldn't change noticeably anyway because he's already a scarred-up orphan.
  8. Finished Eli's random draft thingy in 188 turns because I derped and got myself stuck with Jerme's chapter, and probably some other things were pretty far from ideal too. Also a pretty awful random team. At least it had Harken.
  9. Lloyd is ridiculously fast. Marcus will need one or two WTA-assisted dodges. Ch 31 10 (pt 1) + 4 (pt 2) = 14/188 I'm done! I don't have Luna which makes this chapter a serious pain. To get it in Ch 19 would have required a penalty for a thief AND extra turns to escort Matthew probably or else for Legault to get there from his recruitment point. It might have been worth it, though. There's apparently also a droppable Luna in the desert, but I guess Pent gets to that bastard faster than anyone without a flier can. This means Athos has to rely on Aureola for the dragon and Nergal, Forblaze for most enemies in Pt 1 and sometimes Luce for crits. Also, Jerme is a fucking troll who likes to dodge and not get crit, and I have to choose two team members to bench because of all the forced deployment slots. And I don't have Sleep or Berzerk which makes the Reed brothers very dangerous. Lowen and Serra didn't make the cut because I don't need that many healers and their offense is, quite frankly, horrible. Although I found in practice that Bartre was also pretty much useless here, and Wallace close to useless because 22 def just isn't enough against these bosses when they double you with their S-rank weapons. Part 1, Harken uses a Door Key to get at Darin quickly and obliterate him with a Killer Axe. Hector, Lyn, Nils, Eliwood and Bartre run to camp at the north gate while Athos solos the northwest magic room, comes back to Luce Brendan in the face, and then heads off to cast more spells as Linus and Lloyd. The other units fall back on turn 1, then trap Uhai against the wall and wail on him until Louise can claim Rienfleche, which she can use to chip some of the other bosses. Jerme and Ursula's room is ignored and they are allowed to run up to the main party (who have all assembled in the north, except for Wallace who didn't have enough movement and got trapped and pwned by Ursula - probably avoidable, but so many other things can go wrong here that I eventually gave up) while Lloyd and Linus are getting tag-teamed every way I can think of. I think I had a 9-turn for this on one attempt, but then I managed to let Lyn get Bolting'd on turn 1 in part 2 >_< Anyway, eventually the gates open, and Athos hits Nergal on PP + EP + PP to start part 2, while some other units try their luck on the initial Sage and Druid. I think Renault got berzerked, which didn't matter because Athos just killed Nergal to end Pt 1 and clear his status. Part 2: things get even worse as I realize that Mend!Renault won't heal Athos enough to let him withstand another attack from the dragon (should have bought Recover :P), so Canas has to assist on turn 1. (And no, using Serra instead wouldn't help... actually, if I sent out all three and Serra somehow levelled twice in part 1 and procced Mag both times, I guess it could be made to work... that sounds like a good way to drive myself insane with the RNG though.) After that, Athos starts using Elixirs while Basilikos!Harken is able to do 7 damage, so 3 hits from Harken + 5 from Athos = dead dragon. Eliwood used Durandal once, but I don't recall where. Maybe on that Sage. I guess I could have had Eliwood land the finishing blow by healing Athos before his final attack... Eliwood 13/4.35, 36hp 11/12/13/12/14/7 Marcus 20.00, 47hp 18/23/17/14/13/15 Lowen 13/8.92, 42hp 11/12/12/13/16/9 Bartre 11/7.13, 45hp 16/11/9/8/10/10 Serra 10/5.33, 26hp 13/13/14/12/7/12 Canas 11/9.51, 32hp 14/13/15/10/8/14 Wallace "So I'm to die in battle, am I?" Louise 13.43, 33hp 13/17/21/20/11/14, for once my units don't get HP-blessed. HARKEN <3 19.92, 47hp 25/22/20/14/21/13, so close. Renault 18.27, 45hp 13/22/20/10/15/19 Athos 20.00, base, lol. I guess I should have got Merlinus's stats before the chapter :P
  10. Ch 30 10/174 A handful of restarts because Eliwood is too good at attracting the attention of random stray arrows when low on HP, the two Heroes in the north are douchebags and Limstella is, like, allergic to criticals or something. Everyone except Wallace and Louise rushes north and then east. Louise uses the ballistae to snipe some long-range magic users and other annoyances, and Wallace rescues Nils and wanders into the center of the map, where he's practically untouchable. Serra, Bartre (true story: I keep writing Dorcas instead), Canas and Renault (recruited by Merlinus) grind the wyvern reinforcements while all the horsies head for Limstella's stable. I accidentally burn a charge of Fortify for no reason. Spear!Marcus and Brave Sword!Harken kill Limstella with 1 round each, needing any one of those six attacks to crit, and Eliwood seizes. Eliwood 13/3.48, 35hp 11/12/13/11/14/6, nice level-up. Marcus 20.00, 47hp 18/23/17/14/13/15 Lowen 13/8.92, 42hp 11/12/12/13/16/9 Bartre 11/6.43, 44hp 15/11/9/8/10/10 that's TEN fucking res. Serra 10/5.33, 26hp 13/13/14/12/7/12 Canas 11/8.45, 31hp 14/13/14/10/8/14 Wallace 12.69, 41hp 23/13/10/15/22/9 Louise 11.95, 33hp 12/17/20/20/10/13 HARKEN <3 19.29, 47hp 25/22/20/14/21/13, yes, one of my units capped a stat in a draft. Renault 16.40, base, lower MAG as a lv 16 prepromote than fucking SERRA, now that's sad. Holy shit I'm almost done.
  11. I assume you mean 15 and 31 by Hector mode numbering (the first one not existing in Eliwood's tale, which we're playing here), although that would be 24 by Eliwood mode numbering. Also, 17(E)/18(H) can be ended early as well. I pictured Oleg committing ritual suicide due to the dishonour of having his Knight Crest stolen. :) Ch 27 13/139 It's amazing how much easier this is once you know the recruitment patterns. I feel like I ought to be able to improve even more here. Eliwood doesn't get very much exp here, and auto-promotes still at lv 13. Canas handles the aggro mounted units in the east (standing before the bridge to avoid the reinforcement trigger), eventually doubling back to help Louise and Eliwood who stay in the corner to recruit Vaida and dispatch wyverns. Marcus, Lowen and Harken work as a team to rush to the vertical line of forts. Harken goes crazy with a Hammer and Light Brand while Marcus does his usual thing and Lowen... chips mostly, because he 3HKOs even the Knights. Bartre and Serra manage some assists here, although they have to stay back once the nomadic troopers are aggro'd. Wallace, meanwhile, lures the 3 south island swordsmen on turn 1 EP, then goes around (avoiding the reinforcement trigger) and mostly solos the area around the ballistae (the Warp village gets destroyed, and not a single fuck is given) until Lowen can assist near the end because he had a few unlucky misses. Once recruited, Vaida stows the Spear and picks up the Fell Contract from Merlinus, carefully picks a path to the shops, and buys a bunch of Silvers plus more stuff for Canas. Swordslayer!Harken and Brave Lance!Marcus tag-team the boss and still need 2 turns. Sigh. Oh crap, I forgot to get Lightning for the newly promoted Serra. She'll be furious with me, especially since I can't make good use of her in Ch28 now. Eliwood 13/1.00, 34hp 10/10/12/10/13/6 Marcus 18.96, 45hp 18/22/17/14/13/15 Lowen 13/6.71, 40hp 11/11/12/12/15/8 Bartre 11/5.06, 43hp 15/10/8/8/10/9 Serra 10/1.41, 22hp 11/12/12/11/7/12, gorgeous. Canas 11/6.32, 30hp 14/12/13/10/8/13 Wallace 9.35, 39hp 21/13/8/14/21/7, +skill both times. He's got skillz. Louise 8.71, 31hp 12/16/19/19/9/13 HARKEN <3 16.46, 45hp 24/22/19/13/20/13, an absolute monster imo. Ch 28 9/148 I tried a few different things but it seems that this can't really be done faster without a good magical unit like Pent to (a) Physic Eliwood and (b) use long-range magic to take out various annoyances (like the enemy Bolting!Sage). Harken on the left, Marcus on the right distracting Georg. Harken takes out the Warrior near Eliwood while he waits out of range. A bunch of heavily-used Hand Axes and Javelins get used up, as well as the last of the Light Brand (oops - well, it probably wouldn't have done much anyway). Merlinus wagon-ifies post chapter. Eliwood 13/1.51, 34hp 10/10/12/10/13/6 Marcus 19.27, 46hp 18/23/17/14/13/15 Lowen 13/6.71, 40hp 11/11/12/12/15/8 Bartre 11/5.06, 43hp 15/10/8/8/10/9 Serra 10/1.41, 22hp 11/12/12/11/7/12, gorgeous. Canas 11/6.32, 30hp 14/12/13/10/8/13 Wallace 9.35, 39hp 21/13/8/14/21/7, +skill both times. He's got skillz. Louise 8.71, 31hp 12/16/19/19/9/13 HARKEN <3 16.74, 45hp 24/22/19/13/20/13, an absolute monster imo. Ch 29 LOL/159 This actually took some strategy, which is some more than expected. Wallace dodged some status at 84% hit rates a few times, which saved annoyance but wasn't really necessary. Serra staffbotted Restore all over the place. Canas was the usual target of Silence instead of Serra, which is fortunate. Lots of enemies were taken out, but Denning survived (I was a bit slow getting to the south, plus Harken ran out of weapons due to bad planning). A couple of thieves were killed for sellable stuff, not that I need the gold or anything. Physic gets worn out >_< Marcus maxes out his exp. Eliwood 13/2.17, 35hp 10/11/12/10/14/6 Marcus 20.00, 47hp 18/23/17/14/13/15, fail final level is fail. Lowen 13/7.77, 41hp 11/11/12/13/16/8 Bartre 11/5.59, 43hp 15/10/8/8/10/9, upset that Karla is only in Hector's Tale after all that work. Serra 10/2.39, 23hp 12/12/13/11/7/12 Canas 11/7.60, 31hp 14/12/14/10/8/14 Wallace 9.83, 39hp 21/13/8/14/21/7 Louise 10.01, 33hp 12/16/20/20/9/13, I laughed when a Luna!Shaman had 0 crit on her. HARKEN <3 17.55, 46hp 24/22/19/13/20/13, another fail level :( EDIT I forgot to mention: I got Marcus x Lowen C support here. Also, I deployed my units such that the southeast room started out empty. That might not have been the best decision in terms of maximizing Exp gains. Ch 29x LOL/164 Opposite day. Craploads of useless stuff is sold pre-chapter, everyone assembles a full inventory of good stuff, and I conclude that I don't really need to buy anything except some Lightning and Shine for Serra and a round of Elixirs. Vaida is fielded to do that while others use the arena. The arena operator seems to really hate Eliwood and, for some reason, Canas. Eliwood almost dies in his one fight after a crucial miss, followed by an enemy miss, a miss on his double attack, and finally a hit. Merlinus visits the house (how many of you have ever done that?) and gets some of the most dull advice ever. Eliwood 13/2.44, 35hp 10/11/12/10/14/6, so little exp for such an epic battle. Marcus 20.00, 47hp 18/23/17/14/13/15, fail final level is fail. Lowen 13/8.00, 42hp 11/12/12/13/16/9 Bartre 11/5.96, 43hp 15/10/8/8/10/9, must have missed that level just to spite me. Serra 10/2.73, 23hp 12/12/13/11/7/12 Canas 11/7.70, 31hp 14/12/14/10/8/14 Wallace 9.83, 39hp 21/13/8/14/21/7 Louise 10.82, 33hp 12/16/20/20/9/13 HARKEN <3 18.12, 47hp 24/22/19/13/21/13
  12. Refa, 15+7=22, so you're a turn shorter than you're claiming. Also, you recruited Legault just for his stuff? Could you have 5-turned otherwise? 26x 19 -> free / 126 It's been a while since I didn't need a whack of restarts (okay, 26 didn't either, because Jaffar decided not to be an idiot). Delayed a turn at the end so that Louise could pick off the Luna!Druid who I managed not to bait earlier. Harken got Sonia. He would have exactly ORKOd with the Brave Sword except he missed one of the four attacks. He also wtfpwned a bunch of other stuff that I probably could have dealt with more efficiently. Suddenly I only have 7 uses of it for the rest of the game o_O Oh well, there's still the Lance. The Berzerk staff missed all three times (against Harken all three times I think), but Serra still managed to staffbot Restore a bit due to poison, and continued to Mend of course. She used Physic once, forgot why exactly. She's now promotable, and will use the delicious Ch23 Earth Seal. Wallace held off a bunch of reinforcements, standing in a puddle most of the time and then getting stranded on a 4x4 island. Jaffar held on to Nino pretty much the whole time and kept her out of enemy range, HOW ROMANTIC. That extra Killing Edge and Elixir are appreciated. Eliwood 13.47, 30hp 8/10/11/10/12/3, again with the perfect HP. He still won't be able to attack the Dragon though. That's kinda sad. Marcus 18.21, 45hp 18/22/17/14/13/15 Lowen 13/5.08, 39hp 10/11/11/12/15/7 Bartre 11/4.58, 42hp 14/10/7/7/10/8 Serra 10.61, 19hp 10/10/11/11/5/10, nice last two level-ups there. That's my girl. Canas 11/5.60, 30hp 14/12/13/9/8/12 Wallace 7.39, 38hp 20/11/8/14/20/7 Louise 8.46, 31hp 12/16/19/19/9/13 HARKEN <3 14.35, 43hp 23/22/19/13/18/13
  13. That's weird. You wouldn't be allowed to do that without penalty if Lyn were drafted, but you can since she isn't. o_O You're not nice :P 6 turns on that is pretty impressive though imo. Nice rescue-chaining up the north path.
  14. Wait, you rested Marcus because you figured you'd have to go deep in the desert and his movement would cause failure... but you brought Rath? o_O Also, Rath can be recruited on turn 2? Some kind of Lyn rescue-chain on turn 1? Ch26 LOL/126 You know, if I'd fed Eubans to Canas instead of Bartre and been a little more clever about Serra, I probably could have gotten Kenneth's chapter instead. Bah. Kopf, don't repeat my mistake plz >_< Anyway, loldefend. Marcus, Lowen, Canas and Harken go west, everyone else goes east. On the west side, Marcus does most of the work early, with the others chipping in where they can, then Harken gets rescue-chained to Jaffar's area. The thieves are admitted to the vault, and then Lowen blocks them in to pwninate them (although I let Canas help out from across the north wall). Eventually Lowen sneaks out to carry Jaffar back around the north horizontal path, although at one point he had to be dropped to find Ursula because Harken failed to 2HKO with the Brave Sword on EP, ran back to heal, and then couldn't see Ursula for Marcus to go in and finish the job. RNG trollage compounded with sloppiness, but not unrecoverable. On the east side, Serra and Louise go into the north horizontal path so that Longbow!Louise can take out one of Zephiel's assailants and Physic!Serra can keep him healthy. This is overkill, since the west strike force manages to divert most of the enemies that would go after Zephiel. Eliwood recruits Nino, who walks back into the north horizontal path by herself for the rendezvous. Wallace and Bartre pick up scraps. By turn 8, Wallace is looking for trouble, eventually finding and ORKOing the Divine!Bishop, allowing Victory Road to start playing on turn 10 or 11. With everything cleared out, injured units run to the throne room so Serra can staffbot for exp. 5 charges of Physic remain, which should be enough for a few later emergencies (allowing for the fact that I still have some Elixir and can get more in Ch28 IIRC). Jaffar took out the thief who stole Rescue, and I got the others. Obviously, only the Brave Lance matters, since Boots and Rescue are off limits for everyone, and I don't have a drafted flier. Although I am seriously thinking of taking one or two penalties for Vaida... Eliwood 12.33, 29hp 8/10/10/9/12/3, I know he has 80% HP growth, but he hasn't missed a single one yet, that's kinda cool. Marcus 17.26, 44hp 18/22/17/14/13/14 Lowen 13/4.20, 38hp 9/11/11/11/15/7 Bartre 11/3.84, 41hp 13/10/7/7/10/8, why do I only get RES-blessed in Eliwood's tale >_< Serra 8.88, 19hp 8/9/11/9/5/8, yay staffbotting. Canas 11/5.05, 30hp 14/12/13/9/8/12 Wallace 6.74, 37hp 19/11/8/13/20/6 Louise 6.82, 29hp 12/15/18/18/9/12 HARKEN <3 11.36, 41hp 22/21/18/12/17/11 The treasure in 26x is probably not much use to me - Fenrir's heavy and there are a bunch of banned items plus a dancer ring that's unimportant even if you do have ninils - but I'm going to do it anyway for exp. Pretty sure I can clear it in either 20, or 16+Florina. After all, I has a Harken.
  15. Ch 25 20/111 Well, at least I have the consolation of knowing that Elie/Daigoji are going to get this map too. Plus I get Harken. If I didn't (or worse yet, got Karel and would have to open doors quickly to claim him) I think I would have completely gone mad here. It's full of archers and annoying changes in weather conditions, which put together mean that taking a penalty for flier utility wouldn't even likely help. It's a rout map with a somewhat annoying boss, the aforementioned weather, doors to unlock that are scattered all over the place and a constant stream of reinforcements coming from alternate directions. (You can block some of the spawn points, but it still won't help the fact that getting everywhere is slow. Many of the reinforcements start in distant and inaccessible corners of the map, and are slowed down by the weather just as you are. It all adds up to make this a massive slugfest with plenty of opportunities to screw up and a need for somewhat detailed planning just to pull through. That said, just watch Elie 13-turn it and miss the second wave of wyverns completely :P Wallace took out the first room, then went west and north to tank all the wyvern reinforcements with a Killer Lance and some axes (and an Elixir). Lowen took a Short Spear and some killers and went north from the main area, took out the visible archers, opened the east door for the archer room, drew them out (hiding in a bush and using an Elixir - down to 1HP on the turn after opening the door, thanks to some unlucky hits on the way there), and eventually rendezvous'd in the northeast with Marcus, who had rushed there, recruited Harken, traded a Killing Edge to him to conserve the Brave Sword, and tag-teamed to take care of all those units. Harken gives Lowen some time to breathe (and Serra to heal), and then solos Jerme's room. Serra runs around like a madwoman healing everybody (even though Marcus, Wallace and Lowen all need to use an Elixir at least once anyway - Serra is never in range of Wallace), gaining access to Physic somewhere around turn 8 which is definitely useful. Bartre and Eliwood take out the Knights in the west room off the southeast path, and Canas and Louise take out the far southeast room, with Canas Nosferatu-tanking EP while Louise finishes on PP. That could probably be done faster, but Wallace couldn't finish until turn 20 anyway (the wyverns have to finish spawning, and also get to him) so I tried to keep everyone as safe as possible without delaying anyone to turn 21. Eliwood 12.32, 29hp 8/10/10/9/12/3, I know he has 80% HP growth, but he hasn't missed a single one yet, that's kinda cool. Marcus 16.35, 44hp 18/21/17/13/13/14, another HP-only level >_< Lowen 13/3.88, 37hp 9/10/11/11/14/6 Bartre 11/3.47, 41hp 13/10/7/7/10/8, why do I only get RES-blessed in Eliwood's tale >_< Serra 7.18, 19hp 7/8/11/8/4/8, 195 exp in one level for a healer. Yeah. Canas 11/4.62, 29hp 14/11/12/9/8/12 Wallace 6.18, 37hp 19/11/8/13/20/6, blessed in the stats that matter for him. Louise 6.70, 29hp 12/15/18/18/9/12 HARKEN <3 9.87, 39hp 22/20/18/12/16/10, holy crap he gives a trained Marcus a run for his money at base. The team appears to have gotten more experience on this map than Marcus has the entire game. That's how much of a slugfest it is. HEY AT LEAST THE NEXT CHAPTER WILL ONLY TAKE 15 TURNS hay guyz I'm only 27 turns off the pace

    Hi

o_O? I thought it was strictly a translation? So you basically just do the same stuff... ?
  17. There seems to be a glitch in your display script... at 5:45 it says the pegasus does -3 damage to Oswin o_O
  18. It looks like they offer their own translation too :P Anyway, I know when to expect stuff now, so it becomes a matter of figuring out how to prepare for it... realistically I think I'm going to have to face the full set of reinforcements no matter what >_<
  19. The real reason Lowen has turned green is that Rebecca has brainwashed him into joining her cult of green-ness.
  20. Unless you're me and have Lowen ^_^ Simple pleasures... keeping me sane while I try to figure out how to survive Ch25, let alone get a decent turncount. Currently the plan is: Wallace takes care of the wyverns and bandits, and eventually unlocks the first room to solo that. Marcus runs ahead to recruit Harken, then doubles back to solo the north Archer room. Harken, Lowen and Bartre will deal with the northeast forces and Jerme, while Eliwood, Canas and Louise go after the other two rooms (with Canas doing a bunch of Nosferatu tanking), and Serra runs around doing her thing and trying not to die. The devil is in the details, though...
  21. Ch 24 LOL/91 Blue Gem (Lyn), Light Rune, Mine, Torches and 2x Fire (enemy drops) get sold. Lyn brings out Bows and a Vulnerary for Louise. The plan is for Marcus to bulldoze his way to the northeast to buy killers, also selling White Gem (Louise). He just barely manages to get there. You know, I should have gotten Heal last chapter so that Canas could train staves... blah. Lowen claimed Nosferatu near the end when the madness had died down. The tough part is figuring out a way to keep Pent, Hector and Lyn away from getting dinged for meatshielding. Serra also kinda needs to rely on being too pretty to hit, in order to not die. I was constantly checking wyvern flight ranges. Hammerne? What's that? Eliwood 9.80, 26hp 8/9/8/8/11/3 Marcus 15.26, 43hp 18/21/17/13/13/14, marcus gonna marcu. Lowen 13/1.77, 35hp 9/9/11/10/13/5 Bartre 11/2.11, 41hp 12/9/7/7/10/7, oh snap you could have double-digit AS and fail to double him now. Serra 5.23, 18hp 5/8/9/8/3/7, shiny in addition to pretty. Canas 11/3.00, 27hp 13/11/12/8/8/11 Wallace 1.58, BWAHAHA! Louise 4.59, got a divorce from Pent I guess. The team is almost complete. Harken this chapter, and then lolRenault is all that's left. I've got Jerme's map obviously, gee thanks Bartre. Kngt, wtf your Marcus. 19 str? X___X And what level is your Eliwood already at that he can meaningfully be blessed? I think I got slowed down on Ch 16 mostly by the desire to not have him die at the beginning... although I wouldn't be surprised if I just fail at that chapter in general :P Ch 25 Heaven Seal and Elfire (Pent) are sold pre-chapter. Serra is close to being able to use that Physic staff. I think this one is going to take a while to figure out. :P Anyone have the reinforcement list for this chapter? I'm wondering just how much of a grind it's going to be due to my inability to take things out promptly...
  22. Oh, to attack across the wall (since he has a bow and will target you through it) and not run into that random wyvern... makes sense Whatever, I'd still need an EP crit to 2-turn it so I'm keeping this one. Ch 21 2/69 A couple of restarts in order to allow someone other than Marcus to land the killing blow (ended up being Bartre), they managed to miss with hitrates in the 70s a couple of times >_< Rath has a shortbow and another longbow but that isn't really worth wasting turns for; one longbow should be enough for Louise's availability and shortbows suck. Eliwood 7.57, 24hp 7/8/8/7/9/3 Marcus 11.86, 39hp 18/20/15/12/13/13 Lowen 12.82, 32hp 8/8/10/9/11/4 Bartre 11.07, 38hp 11/7/6/6/7/4, another HP-only level-up but at least he has B axes now. Serra 4.26, 18hp 4/7/8/8/3/6 Canas 11.11, 23hp 12/11/8/7/5/9 Ch 22 6/75 Even Horace didn't 2-turn this, so taking a Florina penalty just to clear it doesn't make sense. The only usable treasure really is the Light Brand and Eclipse, and Eclipse sucks (the tome, not the forum member!). Plus it's practically impossible to keep Matthew away from enemies, so there's no point in that. There's also a stealable Guiding Ring, but Serra probably won't make it to level 10 anyway (as awesome as it would be). Bartre and Canas promote before the chapter, anticipating that they probably aren't going to hit x/20 and because the extra stats are always welcome. Lowen brings the Knight Crest with him to avoid wasting 82 exp. I forgot to use it, but he did just barely level up and then not have anything more useful to do, so nothing really lost. Canas' promotion netted him an extra movement point that might have been necessary for the 6-turn clear, and Bartre got to try out a bow on a Wyvern (spoiler: it sucked). Marcus charges in to the best of his ability and takes out Paul and Jasmine as well as a bunch of mooks, mostly with a Hand Axe and the Silver Sword for the bosses. Everyone else kinda huddles around Merlinus on Turn 1, then strike out as a team across the middle. Well, Canas strikes out once Pent and Marcus have made it safe enough, and everyone else trudges out. There were some restarts due to Pent failing (e.g. Luna critted). Hawkeye is recruited so that Bartre can have DAT AXE; he trades it away and then walks back to the bench. I really should have bought Serra another staff in Ch20 instead of collecting that silly Light Rune. Pent deals the final blow, after being untouched on this run. On several others he refused to use his Elixir at 4 HP. Fucking show-off. 22x is obviously skipped as the exp requirement is pretty impossible at this speed and with Marcus doing so much of the work. Eliwood 7.57, 24hp 7/8/8/7/9/3 Marcus 13.10, 41hp 18/20/16/12/13/14 Lowen 13.02, 33hp 8/8/10/10/11/4, no, Lowen, level-ups should be better than that, go practice your lance thrusts. Bartre 11/1.19, 41hp 12/9/6/6/10/7, Hero Crests kinda suck. Serra 4.48, 18hp 4/7/8/8/3/6 Canas 11/1.48, 27hp 12/11/11/7/7/11, speed is always welcome, yay Guiding Rings. Am I required to recruit Wallace? He seems like dead weight honestly... Ch 23 5/80 ... Well, I did recruit him anyway. Angelic Robe (Isadora), Energy Ring (Bartre), Secret Book (Canas) and Orion's Bolt (Uhai) are sold off before the chapter, and Lowen promotes. Because of my incompetence in running out of staves for Serra, things are complicated for the non-Marcus part of the team, who basically need either a Killer Axe crit on one of the snipers or a lucky miss in order to pull together a working strategy. Those two guys are vicious >_< Anyway, Florina is deployed to eventually find a safe path to recruit Wallace, and Lowen gets the Earth Seal for bragging rights while everyone else does some shopping after the Snipers and bandits are dispatched. Recruiting Wallace probably didn't cost turns since I don't really see how my drafted units could really have helped Marcus get to Linus any faster. Marcus went into a bush on turn 4, switched to the Swordreaver (thanks for the hint Horace) and nommed a Vulnerary; a bunch of annoying mooks used up like 10 uses of that Swordreaver (maybe I should have bought two when I was shopping) but he was still able to hit on EP and finish the job on turn 5 PP. Eliwood 9.02, 26hp 8/9/8/8/11/3 How did he get this much exp? Also I guess he must have had 24 hp before, not 23 :/ edited. Marcus 14.65, 42hp 18/21/16/12/13/14 your WTA/WTD argument is invalid. Lowen 13/1.12, 35hp 9/9/11/10/13/5, Knight crests aren't great either but 8 mov is always welcome. Bartre 11/1.32, 41hp 12/9/6/6/10/7 Serra 4.48, 18hp 4/7/8/8/3/6 Canas 11/2.34, 27hp 13/11/12/8/8/11 Wallace 1.00, BREAK YOUR SWORDS AGAINST ME
  23. Ch19 5/64 If Horace says this is 5-turnable then it bloody well is, so I made sure to get it. Getting the Member card would require waiting around forever and taking a penalty for Matthew or Legault. It would have been nice to get Luna anyway for Canas, but I can't see it saving that many turns. I thought I would need a ORKO for this to work, but it turns out that with clever teamwork, Lowen can open the front door with a Door Key allowing Marcus to attack Darin with a Hand Axe on PP 4. (The crit I got on EP is unnecessary as he can finish the job on PP 5 anyway, and it would have been close to a KO anyway.) That meant that Dorcas, in turn, could take the Hammer and OHKO a random Knight that otherwise slows things down a turn. (Although I guess there would have been an opportunity to trade it back to Marcus...) Legault is nice enough not to block the path to the throne since the front door is open and his AI therefore has him bee-line towards the other chests. Dorcas and Canas clean up scraps, claiming the Killer Bow and Longbow for Louise, and Serra heals them for the hell of it. I think Eliwood critblicked Cameron on the run that I kept, I don't think it's needed though. Eliwood 6.95, 23hp 6/8/8/7/8/3 Marcus 10.95, 39hp 18/20/15/12/12/13 Lowen 12.29, 32hp 8/8/10/9/11/4 Bartre 9.38, 36hp 11/6/6/5/6/3, he deserves better. Serra 4.22, 18hp 4/7/8/8/3/6, gorgeous. Canas 11.01, 23hp 12/11/8/7/5/9. Ch20 3/67 Marcus critblick on EP. Eh, figuring out how to move him on turn 2 is kinda luck-based without a Torch anyway. I wasn't able to put him in range to bait Oleg on turn 2 (and finish on turn 3) that time. I had been restarting because I needed to figure out how to keep Ninian out of the way of all those annoying light mages. Canas picked up Restore and Serra picked up Light Rune. It kinda sucks that Restore isn't spammable. Eliwood 7.57, 24hp 7/8/8/7/9/3 Marcus 11.63, 39hp 18/20/15/12/13/13 Lowen 12.66, 32hp 8/8/10/9/11/4 Bartre 10.07, 37hp 11/7/6/6/7/4, starting to redeem himself. Serra 4.26, 18hp 4/7/8/8/3/6 Canas 11.02, 23hp 12/11/8/7/5/9
  24. Honestly, everything to do with Elibe (at least!) dragons is WMG IMO. I mean, there are manaketes, and then there are also wyverns, and it's never really explained why wyverns (which appear to be related to dragons, and are called dragons in the Japanese version) exist and are tame and presumably breedable without causing any Scouring-type problems. Speaking of manaketes, they seem to have spontaneously come into existence in the 20 years between FE6 and FE7, unless Ninian and Nils count. Arcadia exists, but somehow Nergal had to go to the Dragons' Gate to accomplish anything. The gate somehow wasn't destroyed in the thousand years since the Scouring. Ninian and Nils kinda just wandered through by themselves, but Nergal needs them to call any more through. Except as he dies, when he apparently suddenly figures out the secret. (Not to mention, Nergal seems oddly pleased about Eliwood killing Ninian when he presumably still thinks he needs Ninian alive for his plans...) And maybe I wasn't reading Yahn's story closely enough, but I still don't get how Zephiel got access. Are you sure he isn't referring to himself? That's how I always read it. But then, my experience with 7 dates back quite a bit further than 6, so...
