  1. Yeah, Nergal was much better than Validar in terms of depth and characterization, even if he still sort of fits the I'M EVIL BWAHAHA trope.
  2. an eyepatch would be an improvement of her character design somehow
  3. To keep it from bouncing so much. It's like it has a mind of it's own.
  4. what if they were 20 furless cats?
  5. Yes, I would enjoy constant womanizing. And at some point in the game all the girls you've been wooing simultaneously ought to figure it out and brutally murder you as an alternate non-canon "ending".
  6. I like Hoshido's spread and Marx/Leon. Camilla and both Kamui's kind of bother me. (Male Kamui's neck looks too long to me?)
  7. Yeah, he probably handed the kids off to the help.
  8. The difference between Kamui's mysteriousness versus Aqua mysteriousness will be, because Kamui is the main character, you're likely to have some facts established about him right away when you play the game (though we may not know them now). He won't remain a mystery, for the most part. I have a sneaking suspicion Aqua will remain elusive until a later point in the game. Plot twists, and everything. There may be a reason she's shown in a choke hold. I dunno if she herself can change into a dragon thing. I'm not sure if Aqua will even have changing clothing in game. I haven't seen her in the dark outfit outside of that one trailer. Is she in dark purple and a veil in other screen shots?
  9. There's still the who, what, when, where, and why.
  10. My bet is, based solely on his appearance, that he's irredeemably evil. But since Marx begins to doubt his father is evil enough to do x, maybe he wasn't always that way and got his kids presents each Christmas. Maybe he's possessed, or something traumatic happened to make him be this way. Or maybe he's a well-intentioned extremist and knows things we don't know and he's trying to move his chess piece to counter another threat on the horizon. OR MAYBE...
  11. No, not every cliche' is a cliche' for a very good reason. Some are ridiculously stupid. I don't think the Idiot Hero cliche' people are complaining about now has ever had a good premise. http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/HeroBall I love that site, by the way. I don't think every Fire Emblem character is a cliche', either, or at least an overdone cliche'. I like Hector. I guess you can try to argue he is the big dumb one but there isn't really much evidence to support it - or at least any evidence suggesting he's dumber than the other two lords in his series. It'd be difficult to argue against my claim that Aqua will be the Mysterous Waif just because we don't have enough information to confirm or deny it: it is literally a guess on my behalf. Once you do, you can argue against it. And it may not even be very hard.
  12. It usually has a negative connotation because it's usually the literal backbone of the character or plot, and it is essentially borrowing an idea which has been used by someone else because you can't make up your own concept. Cliche's work when it's an overleaf of a plotline or character, not the essential part. So far, Aqua hasn't really shown her cards... and perhaps as more information comes to light she will appear less and less of a Mysterious Waif. But right now? That's how she appears.
  13. Hm. This makes me slightly more optimistic about the writing, simply because he seems to have a long resume, but even good directors make the occasional dud movie. and nicholas sparks has made millions recycling the same love story over and over again The wine-tasting manga intrigues me as a concept lol
  14. because he's one of those people who change their names every week not really, beyond not wanting to go with one of the single-vote guys. i doubt it will end up being my final choice. i put it on you if you're feeling left out now :D
  15. I would agree. If only they weren't likely the healers you invest a lot of exp in up until that point.
  16. Yes. In a forum full of threads filled with mere speculation. What are the odds? Cliche's are the backbone of lazy writing. Mind you, sometimes they can be done well, but not often.
  17. They showed some, uh, interesting cutscenes involving Marx and Ryouma that seem to suggest you'll be engaging in some kind of final showdown with them (with Ryouma claiming you've betrayed Hoshido and Marx declaring he's going to serve you justice or something). They also showed glimpses of Takumi and Leon cutscenes, which may suggest they're also boss fights which may come before that final duel. You may get to kill all the handsome men in the third route! Won't that be fun?
