  1. 1. Brigand requires only a C in Axes for a 100% success rate. No brawling is needed and a C in Brawling will not raise the chance by 1 bit. 2. While Fighter(the class you probably meant by Brigand) and Monk only require one of the skills, that is because they are beginner classes and it would be unfair to make axe users have to train bows and brawling for their first class. 3. Warrior requires only an A in Axes so there is no way a Master class will have the same, and possibly easier requirements if you could pick either. 4. War Master is a Master Class. Most Master class have at least 2 A's (Bow Knight has 2 A's in Bows and Riding and a C in Lances), so A in Axes and Brawling isn't even that demanding. you can always risk the exam but without a score of at least B in Brawling I'd say your odds would be below 50%, so you will have to train them. @timon If you really hate Gauntlets that much you can just set them as one of your 2 focuses and have it rack up in the background, while never having to actually use it. I don't know which character's you specifically want to be a war master, but if it's someone who has a strength in Brawling then they will get there in no time. I'll use Caspar as an example. It takes 1320 exp to get from E to A. He starts with an E+ which elimates 40 of that exp from the start leaving you with a needed 1280 exp. If Brawling is set to one of his focuses he gains 32exp every week in that because he has a strength in it(28 for neutral, 24 for weakness). 1280/32 = 40 weeks until A rank in Gauntlets. That's 10 Months so by the end of Month 2 you will be finished and will then be able to take the War Master exam with no chance of failure. This will probably be just in time for Master classes as I don't see you reaching level 30 before month 2 very easily. However if you do and you want War master faster then you can just throw that character in a few seminars with Catherine or Alois(probably him as he does Axes too), or just tutor it a bit. That's A rank in Brawling in 10 Months with absolutely no actual use of them. Downside is you can only have one other focus but if you are going war master then it's likely to be Axes and Gauntlets anyway.
  2. Judging by the fact that we have only seen Str/Dex/Mag/Cha used for recruiting, I doubt any more stats will be relevant to recruiting as it wouldn't make sense for houses that couldn't have one of each. The Blue lions currently has no str requester, so I am certain that Felix will require Swords and Strength which should be really easy to catch. The Golden deer currently has no Dex requester so likewise I am sure Ignatz will want Dex. As for the skill, I would have said Reason but LSM figured out it could only be Swords, Lances, Brawling, Riding and Armour. Of these I could only see Swords or Riding fitting. We haven't seen a skill be required more than once in one house, and since Marianne wants Riding, I would assume Ignatz wouldn't be that as well. So Swords and Dexterity for Ignatz. For Black Eagles, I have no concrete evidence for anything, although a quick guess would be, Linhardt: Lances and Magic, Ferdinand: Axes and Charisma, Bernadetta: Bows and Dexterity. These are just based of the relics of each saint but could and will be completely wrong.
  3. As far as i'm aware it is the 6th month, and since we start in the 4th month, it is technically our 3rd month. Edit: This was meant to be directed at @Bk1234, I don't know how the quote disappeared.
  4. Because It's a completely different topic. In Fe7's case it's three lords on the same team going on a journey. In Fe16, you have to make a choice between the three lords and that decision will be heavily influenced by the marketing of the game, which up until recently, favoured Black Eagles. If Edelgard receives a large amount of favouritism it can invalidate the other routes for some people, as they are not valid, or canon. Think of it like if IS was advertising fates, but while one the one hand telling you to make a choice, they were also handing out leaflets saying to pick Conquest. This would influence most players who were interested in Fates to buy Conquest, and thereby not care about Birthright as much. Revelations is a good example of trying to make on path more canon than the others, and it failing abysmally. What i'm basically trying to say is that if a game is advertised as a choice between 3 houses, but one house is much more important than the others, then it's less of a choice and more of annoyance. So it's quite different to other games' approaches. However, just because I have explained why it's a bad idea, doesn't mean I think it will happen. For example when the main theme was titled "Young Maiden from Hresvleg" people, including me got a bit mad at the favouritism. But recently we've seen the same song titled "Edge of Dawn", so it's likely the former name was just for the song' release with the artist, or maybe it is the name of the song in Japan. I don't really know. But overall I have faith that even though from a pure world-building aspect Edelgard is much more important than the others, being the descendant of Serios, the main lords will all be equally important in the actual story. Small, kind of related example is in Fe4, where from a pure world building base, Julia is the most important character in gen 2, being the descendant of Naga, but Seliph is the main character in the Story, even though he is descended from Baldur who isn't that important compared to other characters. I understand there are major differences between this example and Three houses, but I still have faith that Is wouldn't do something that stupid, especially because they said they like all houses equally, so it wouldn't make sense for them to intentionally favouritise one.
  5. I was thinking about doing a run like this a few days back and i was trying to come up with a way to handicap the 3 Ferdinand's, but I don't know why I didn't think of that. I love it. One downside is that most people won't be able to reach master classes without rolling the dice on the test and you physically can't train them in anything else. For example Sylvain would stop at Sniper, and wouldn't be able to go further, whereas Linhardt actually has the perfect setup for War Master coincidentally. But I guess that just adds to the challenge of it.
  6. Hidden for Length, not spoilers. My Plans for Blue Lions. Only Blue Lions so far because they are the easiest house for canon paths imo.
  7. I think we've seen that you just need Professor level C to unlock it, there is a picture somewhere of the lock being hovered over and it mentioning needing it. My bet is that they will be available school phase, just hard to get to and might require a focus on battling and levelling up at the weekends.
  8. Isn't this statement clearly wrong though? In the video we can see both Lorenz and Bernadetta in their pre-timeskip designs in Great Knight and Bow Knight respectively. It's much more likely that he just didn't get round to unlocking them because if they weren't available, then how the hell is there footage of them.
  9. The problem is the requirements to take the exam. If you want to use a Bow or an Axe in Mortal Savant, you also have to train up skills in Swords and Reason to presumably A or B rank, just to then cast aside those high level skills and uses Bows instead. Having to level up your skills to pass an Exam means it is almost pointless to go into a class that doesn't at least have one of your preferred weapons as a speciality. I you're going to spend a bunch of time getting your Axe and Brawling rank to A for War Master, there isn't much point in also focusing on Swords so you might as well just go for axes. So I agree with Etheus, the lack of options for all classlines is weird, though as many people have said, it is possible that Advanced classes (Aside from the fliers, and the gender exclusive upgrades) will be the same strength as the hybrid masters.
  10. I agree with most of this stuff, However the Thief and Assassin are definitely from Myrmidon and not Fighter. For one the thief exam requires C Swords and no Bow skill, thieves have always been more Sword based, and Thief is next to Mercenary on the class list. Also I think the Wyvern path and the Armoured Knight path both fall under Fighter, as both exams want Axe skill, not Lance skill.
  11. In Kotaku's monastery video, Lysithea and Ignatz had E+ Authority at level 1. Not sure if that means a strength or if they have already been tutored in it but thought I'd say.
  12. I think this just means that Gremory is Female only, while War master is the Male only equivalent. That makes me a bit made, because if Gremory(why couldn't they just call it sage) is the most powerful spellcaster, then why would they limit it to females only? That seems unfair for male spell casters, while with classes like War master and Hero you can still use those weapons in similar classes, Gremory is the only class with maximum magic ability. I guess because the only canon Male spellcasters are Hubert, Linhardt and Hanneman( a lot less than the female ones) and they will most likely be going Dark knight and Holy knight accordingly, it might be okay in practise. But that still really annoys me that they don't have the option.
  13. Remember, the skills shown aren't what is required to take the exam, they are the skills the class boosts during combat. Since they are still mounted I would assume that the exam would have requirements of Lances, Riding and Heavy Armour, while the skills it boosts are Axes, Lances and Armour.
  14. Bit unrelated, but I've been wondering about this and you seem like you know a lot about the teaching part of the game. How much work do you need to put into a hidden talent to unlock it's potential? Is it based on tutoring alone? Can combat improve it? Is it rank based? Idk, and it's annoying me. Do we have any inclination of how that works, or do we still need more info on that?
  15. LSM covered that in the article. It's because the character didn't start of with that skill unlike the others, and has equipped it later when they receive it. Linhardt only starts with Reason and Faith, then afterwards he learnt authority and then Lances. Same with Byleth and all the other examples. They're a clever monkey. I wouldn't have figured that out on my own for sure.
  16. If you go to 5:02 you see that Sylvain and Dimitri do not receive Blue arrows for their work in the stables, even though both of these characters have been proven to be skilled in Riding. Therefore these arrows pertaining to the group tasks are not accurate to the strengths and weaknesses of characters. So we don't know if Hubert and Dorothea are actually weak in flying because the arrow isn't related to skill levels. Much like Food and Choir practise it just shows how good they are at the task based on their character.
  17. While that is true, how do you know that those extra abilities are tied to the classes and not levelling up your weapons skills or through hidden talents. We have seen Dorothea gain an ability through hidden talents and it's just as fair to say that weapon ranks can give you extra abilities as it is to say classes give you extra ones. On the topic of the Cavalier extra abilities, from what I could see, Dimitri has 3 extra abilities that we did not know about ( The arrow shield, the boot and the fire arrow), if you say that these are cavalier abilities then why does Sylvain have none of them and instead has a different sparkly plus one. Sylvain is only 7 levels lower than Dimitri so why would he have 1 extra cavalier skill when Dimitri has 3 that are completely different. I say that these are not linked to classes but Weapon levels, hidden talents and possibly even Battalions that could grant skills. We don't know, and are just making assumptions as you said. I do think that classes might get a new skill on class mastery, but neither Dimitri nor Sylvain had yet achieved that. Edit: In fact looking at the abilities section of this site, it says that the fire arrow is an ability linked to Authority. Therefore I think it is fair to say that other abilities would be linked to weapon levels, and not just combat arts. Perhaps Hubert's rally magic came from his Reason and not his class. That's what I think at least
  18. I mean I don't think they are hiding the fact that Edelgard is a bit evil (not evil necessarily but opposed to you) as we have seen her fighting Byleth. Byleth is you therefore they must be correct and good and Edelgard must be flawed. In addition she is giving of major Lawful Evil vibes for me and I think it was pretty obvious from the trailer she will not be a good guy. The only one they are trying to trick us with is Claude.
  19. Slight correction, They can use dark magic, they just can't be in a specialised class for it. And by specialised I mean get a free Miasma, as Mages are still proficient in dark magic. We've seen shots of Lysithea wielding a dark tome from famitsu. The difference in learning Anima or Dark magic will almost certainly be different for each character. As Mage and Dark mage only have 1 spell that makes them different. Leveling reason (and faith) is how you receive spells and each character will have a different list. For example Hubert might learn more dark magic spells than Anima, and Annette might not learn any dark magic at all. The class itself only really grants 1 spell so it's likely that Lysithea will have access to a number of dark magic spells as part of her list.
  20. It's unlikely, but considering this game has made such a bid deal of "Crest research", there has to be some shenanigans that are discovered because otherwise it is pointless. Whether it's transplanting crests into people without them (Linhardt giving Edelgard her second crest theory), or if it's about upgrading them or both. There is a lot more to this system than the Holy blood and I don't think it will be as simple as we might think. So the lords having relics might be from them getting a potential upgrade. Again there is no evidence to support it currently but i'd be willing to bet on it.
  21. I mean...I kind of liked that. Though admittedly it would be hard to balance in this type of game, but I would like it if there is a notable difference between being Major and Minor because otherwise, what is the point of having 2 types? Also in the French Japan expo I believe Ingrid used her crest and it gave her more damage than was displayed, and she has a minor one, so hopefully it should be a bit more to having a Major crest than just small effects. I mean, only allowing Majors to use the relics would be an easy one but that hasn't been mentioned as far as I know.
  22. If Petra is good with Riding then she is the first and only character to have 5 Strengths: Swords, Axes, Bows, Riding and Flying. Very unlikely for me, though it could potentially be a hidden talent as we haven't seen one for her yet.
  23. I mean I really hate Eirika, like I Really hate her. Celica is alright, and I quite like Lyn, but the male lords in those games were always more interesting for me. One exception is Micaiah because I find her way more interesting than Ike (No offensive Ike fans, I liked him a lot in PoR especially when he defends Elincia from the Begnion senate, but he isn't that interesting.) I don't think we will have anything to worry about with Three houses though because it seems like all the lords have an equal presense and in fact, they might be going the other way and have Edelgard slightly overshadow Dimitri and Claude because she has been presented as way more important, what with all the trailer focuses, crest of Serios, only known character with possibly 2 crests, has 2 relics and The main theme of the game is named after her. I'm pretty positive about it though, and my only real hope is that the three lords aren't too different in terms of story importance.
