  1. You could give it to Reyson, yeah. He's very fragile so having him being able to refresh people and then back off is a nice thing to have (especially if he's transformed). Personally I put it on Boyd on my last playthrough but Reyson sounds like the optimal choice (or pretty much any squishy units you have who aren't mounted, that will allow them to do things on the frontlines without exposing themselves too much).
  2. For what it's worth I think that it was hinted since the pre-battle cutscenes what you're supposed to do, but anyway if you find this map bad, then oh boy wait till you get to chapter 25. Anyway, did you get the Knight Ring?
  3. Oh yeah. You actually have to talk to Naesala with either Janaff and Ulky, and then, on the enemy phase, Naesala will fly towards Reyson himself and talk to him. He does so before any other raven moves btw.
  4. Deploy Tanith. Tanith has a unique skill called reinforce. It spawns three yellow Pegasus Knights that you can order around like Lethe and Mordecai in chapter 9. Let one of them lure Naesala from the ballista that's on the foot of the hill. (Although you might wanna kill that archer on the ballista to make things easier) That's how I always did it, including my recent Ironman. If you do it correctly, you should be fine. Side note, try to convert Naesala into a green unit without killing any crows. Doing so will net you the Knight Ring, which gives Canto to any unit you want (Idk if the item is exclusive to a second playthrough tho). That was something I was actually unaware of until I did that chapter in the ironman run. Good luck.
  5. I think Ross is very much pretty bad just by virtue of having super low bases, and he still gets one-rounded by almost every enemy in his join chapter, but he is the best of the trainees thanks to joining at a time where it's easier to train him. Although you could argue that Ewan's 1-2 range does make him safe but then again, Ross also has the Hatchet.
  6. Oh boy. Next up is... Eirika chapter 18. And we all know what scene it contains... I still stand by my opinion that while she did do a big oopsie, it wasn't something that was done lightly, nor was it's something that makes her the dumbest lord at all. I think I'll be going into it with more detail when you actually express your opinions on it.
  7. On the topic of that comment of Mekkah's video who jokingly said that Seth was supposed to be the Gotoh of the game, while it did make me laugh hard, I will have to disagree here and say that it doesn't work. Having 14 strentgh and 12 speed base is laughable in the endgame, and he wouldn't even be that durable with only 30 HP and 11 defense. Hell, Eirika on average has better stats than at least base Seth by this point, specially in speed, and seeing your opinion on her, well that's saying something. Seth just has amazing bases for his jointime and great growths, but his bases are not at all good for the final few maps. (Precisely why Syrene is bad, actually)
  8. Naesala is the kind of guy to turn the camera and micro off and put a crow as his pfp so no one notices he's not attending the meeting.
  9. Still, there's no excuse for Syrene's bases to be this bad. Bitch, THEA in FE6 HM has comparable bases to Syrene and she joins only a bit before the midgame, and Thea's not even that good (Although I always use her). I like Syrene design-wise and I think she's cool and all but no matter what way you put it she's just bad. Thankfully, at least the next chapter is good for her. She can kill the eggs without too much effort (she does need more than iron weaponry tho, which is a sign) for an easy 50 exp, and with decent growths she could turn into something if you feed her lotsa eggs. She was a fucking pain in that one playthrough I used her in, tho.
  10. I'm fluent in french, and this is a pretty nice video, I'll say. I agree that FE7 does things right, but not in a particularly amazing way and that most of its aspectes are better done in other games, overall. Also I approve of this Fiora.
  11. Ashe does take some attention, yeah, and his strength especially starts out lacking but mine is shaping up to be pretty good, actually. I have him as a sniper. He's my squishiest unit so being able to attack miles away from the enemy is a good thing. I would argue that Ingrid is actually a bit worse, tho, at least in earlygame. She takes off when you make her a Pegasus Knight, sure, but before that I'd go as far as to say she's actually a liability. But who am I to judge 3H units I haven't even finished my playthrough.
  12. Pretty sure dragons age really slowly. Hell, half dragons seem to take forever already. I think the main advantage beorc have over laguz is simply not having a transform gauge. Laguz can't fight all the time. Beorc do lose weapons over time but they're replaceable. Once laguz untransform they become helpless.
  13. Dart is squishy but he's got enough HP that I'd say he can handle himself just fine. Also his offense is pretty darn amazing later on with 60% growth on strength AND speed, and a nice 12 strength base. My favorite bad unit? Wil. I love this guy. I know he's one of the worst units in FE7 but I always use him. Even when he's disappointing because I tend to give any stat booster I don't need on him. The things I do for Wil. I mean obviously Fiora is bae and I do give her some energy rings but she doesn't need all the help you can give Wil. Fir is a bad unit? I actually find her quite easy to train up in her join chapter alone and when she promotes she's, sure not as good as Rutger but she's still a SwordMaster in FE6. But I actually really like using Lilina. And Ogier. Lilina turns into a goddamn nuke later on no matter how slow she may be, and I just think Ogier's fun, and he gets going if you can give him some levels. Idk if Tormod's a bad unit or not, but if he is, then him. Celerity alone is just such a good skill that I can justify using him over the other mages, and Bexp is a thing in this game. He also joins at a point where most people are close to promotion, so that means not many people want this Bexp so you can just dump it on him. For what it's worth tho I think his bases are just alright for his join chapter. He gets doubled by the Myrmidons and potentially one-shot by Fighters but if he can stay out of range feeding him kills isn't hard.
  14. This. I find FE6's difficulty to be perhaps one of the best in the series if not the best. Normal mode is hard enough where it's not considered easy yet it's very manageable, and hard mode is a good challenge that, with experience, shouldn't be too bad (plus you get hard mode bonuses which are amazing in this game). Do be careful in the earlygame in hard mode's case, tho, it can get dicey, and Mercs (sometimes Nomads) may have enough speed to double a lot of people, and chapter 7 is hell on earth. But it's still so much fun to play FE6 on either difficulty for me. You should at least try vanilla, but I would understand if you decide to go for a patch since it's definitely not a game everyone can enjoy.
  15. Cooking can be done multiple times a month tho, I clearly remember my units having two separate boosts on the same map from cooking.
  16. Pretty sure Boyd and Mia even were planned to support, according to unused data (or at least that's what you can conjecture). Zihark should, by all accounts, have been able to support either Lethe or Mordecai. I find it weird how his main thing is that he's all anti-racism but his only laguz support is Muarim in FE9. Sanaki and Tormod should be an interesting one, tho. What with the whole slave emancipation thing and how Sanaki approached that. Any support with Oliver in it, probably. Off the top of my head, he'd have to be able to support Sanaki, Devdan/Danved, Naesala, maybe even Tormod. I'd also really want to see what it'd look like if he spoke to Bastian, since Bastian has a unique dialogue line when "conversing" with Oliver in RD. There is a lot of potential with that cast.
  17. Who thought it was a good idea to give her these bases if you skip Lyn Mode? Like, at least Lyn mode Lyn can turn into something worthwhile (besides her non-stat related issues like being swordlocked) but when I just play without it I just end up not wanting to use her anymore. How the hell are you supposed to kill things with that thing?
  18. Honestly though, with how many works and ideas have surfaced everywhere in not just FE, it is hard to make something entirely original that doesn't fall into any trope. I think cliches are fine but try not to use the most cliche ones, if that makes sense, basically.
  19. I just finished my FE9 IronMan, with only four casualties: -Shinon, on Chapter 18 (As an enemy, didn't want to waste a deployment on Rolf and he's my most disliked FE character anyway, nothing of value was lost.) -Kieran, on Chapter 20 (Was swarmed by Wyverns who had 20%-ish chance to hit, but HIT ANYWAY. More insulting is the fact that it was the nearby archer who killed. It's the only death in the run that actually made me sad tho. He was really good.) -Soren, on Chapter 23 (Crit by a ballista. I had one-shot the archer occupying it previously with Bolting, but then the Sniper moved onto it. Actually made me laugh, and frankly Soren had done his purpose at that point.) -Reyson, on Endgame (Accidentally placed in the range of a Short Axe Paladin who was in the foutain area, so I didn't suspect he's be able to reach, but he did. But it didn't matter, that was the final chapter anyway.) The Top 5 MVPs of the playthrough (by kills): 5-Astrid: For my first time using her she made a very strong impression on me. Good on her. 4-Marcia: Would have expeted her to end up higher because she's a flier, but I guess with another flier on my team (Tanith), those kills were distributed. Still love her tho, arguably my best unit in the run, bar Oscar. 3- Boyd: Always ends up among the top 5 if you use him long-term. He started looking pretty slow at the end but he still pulled his own weight better than I'd expected. Also that A support with Mist really helped her reach B rank Swords. 2-Oscar: Of course he'd be so high. God-tier cav. 1-Ike: Because he's Ike. Last playthrough, Marcia was here instead but Ike is just a beast once he promotes. Also my strategy for killing Ashnard... was boxing him. As pictured below. Thank you, Tanith's squad. Easiest Ashnard battle ever, and Ashnard is no easy opponent. Glad I able to pull this. Even better was the fact that Oscar has two Earth affinity supports, both as maxed as can be (A with Tanith, B with Ike). For a first IronMan, that run was a blast, and more often than not it showed me how good an FE player I've become because there were many dicey situations that I got out of, specially in the earlygame. Wonder what game I'll IronMan next... any suggestions, anyone?
  20. You know, Serra, Wil and Nils still being alive is a good sign. Also Wallace should be a godsend at this point. Did he promote him?
  21. Wait... 8 defense on Eirika at level 11? Shit, not even I, who has an amazing Eirika track record, have never gotten this lucky. She is quite a bit bulkier than Lyn is, tho, that's for sure, at least.
  22. Oop, my bad I forgot about that... but in this case wasn't Marth following orders from Archanea? I'm talking like, you actually have a villain's reason for invading and it turns out it turns everyone against you.
  23. Imagine a game where the agressor is actually you, and it turns out your reason for invading was actually a misunderstanding, and for the rest of the game (or at least a big chunk of it) you have to deal with the consequences? Of course you still gotta need a villain within that same plot but imagine an FE game that opens up with that.
  24. FE4: Lionheart Eldigan FE5: Adversity FE6: For the Commanders FE7: Companions FE8: Truth, Despair and Hope FE9: Greil Mercenaries FE10: Bearer of Hope FE11: The time to act (idk I just like it above the others for whatever reason) FE12: Expedition FE13: Destiny Idk for Fates, didn't hear enough music from it. FE15: The one that plays in the last Alm maps? Idk what it's called. FE16: Between Heaven and Earth (Haven't finished the game yet but I like this one most so far)
  25. It's amazing that he lasted three whole years after the war.
